1441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 10, 2023, 11:58:49 PM
I think Barcelona being better than last year is not a surprise. Not just because Xavi got there and he is making them play a better game, that's quite true and I wouldn't argue against that at all but we are also talking about 100+ million euro worth new transfers as well, ignore everything else and just the fact that they have Lewandowski, one of the best pure scorers of our time is good enough fact that they should be doing better.

They also have plenty of other new players that helped them be better too. Sure they also have some of their old players and Xavi helped, but those new players are definitely there to prove they are good and help them be better.

Barcelona play better football than last year and they also have a much better starting position than last year. But they now also have access to Lewandowsky, which also makes a big difference. They won very businesslike last weekend at Atletico Madrid, usually a difficult hurdle to overcome. But in the battle for the championship you can't really draw any conclusions either, as both Barcelona and Madrid can lose points every week. They are both not so good that they just win everything. Xavi has a large share in the current game image of Barcelona. Barcelona can use success again. Last national title feels like 10 years ago due to the successes of Real Madrid.

Barcelona’s gameplay has definitely improved from last season. And you’re right as they’ve now got a good starting position than they did last year. I think the addition of Lewandoski bolstered the squad after messi had left. I’m loving their winning ways now but I think there is even a greater hurdle ahead with matches like Real Madrid to be played.
Xavi has done a lot to being Barcelona to its winning ways as before and while that itself is no easy feat, Barcelona seems to right on track to being a goal scoring winning machine they once were in the Spanish La Liga
1442  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: January 10, 2023, 11:51:17 PM
Other poor people have no desire to advance in life because they believe that they were born poor and will die poor. It means that people's progress depends on what mindset they believe in.

There are also others like Poor people with and poor mindset that even though you helped them get out of the pit of poverty in their lives, and even gave them a job, in the end, they still return to the mindset of a poor people. These are the lazy people who always want someone to give them help such as giving them money or relief goods.
In my opinion, it is environmental factors that influence a person's mindset. Many people learn from their environment and adopt it as a habit.

The second is access to financial information/education, access to quality books, and again environmental factors that are less supportive for learning (perhaps economic factors, mindset about education, study habits/practical thinking.

There are a lot of factors that would, in my opinion greatly influence a persons mindset and environmental factors is a teeny tiny percentage. Your environment has a way out influencing your behaviors until they become habits. I think someone could also not be influenced by the environment in which he/she resides. Someone could not let the world around him influence and get to him.
While I think environmental and societal issues could greatly impact on someone’s mindset, I also think it’s not a cause for people to remain poor
1443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 10, 2023, 11:42:30 PM

Marcus Rashford was on fire again tonight, same goes to Garnacho and to the introduction of Casemiro and also Erikson, they came in with desire of winning the game. Two more goals in the second half to help seal the game.

It's great to see Manchester United back at their best. I didn't even expect Manchester United to add 2 goals in the last minutes in such a short time. Rashford really showed a very good game against Charlton in this EFL Cup.

But a more difficult match awaits MU in the Premier League. namely the match against Manchester City which will certainly be a much-awaited match and this match will certainly be very fierce. However, MU as the host must be able to maintain their consistency which has just been rebuilt since the second half of this season.

I had been expecting Manchester United to easily win the game and they didn’t disappoint. Their gameplay had been steadily changing and improving and they’re playing with more courage and confidence. I think thats good now.
The test of wits and determination would be tested with the upcoming premier league match with Manchester City. Now, that would a match to watch as the game could literally go anyway. With Manchester United current form and run, can they win the game against Manchester City?
1444  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: January 10, 2023, 04:01:50 PM
Any man that seeks to follow money becomes misled.
Money is meant to follow you, while you are meant to follow value.  Create value, solve problems, and do it well, you'll attract people to follow you; remember, money follows people with value.

What's your take on this?

Money is definitely a motivator if you want to live comfortably. As our world depends totally on money for achieving a comfortable life or at least meeting your obligations, earning should be one of your main goals if you truly want to experience a hassle-free life. But there lies a difference between rich and being satisfied. A person may be rich but he may feel empty on the inside especially if they have no friends, etc.

The way to deal with this is to balance a healthy lifestyle with your peers and earning money. While the latter should be one of your main focuses, you should not totally discredit other means as this will keep you active in other aspects of your life.

I don’t think our world depends totally on money for achieving a comfortable lifestyle like you say. What you would define to be a comfortable life would differ from the next person.
If you want to truly want to experience a hassle free life, search for inner peace within yourself and then get the money as money is obviously important. Only then would you lead a hassle free life. There are people who are happy and satisfied with the little they’ve got and do not need money to “live comfortably” as they’re comfortable with their way of life.
1445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 09, 2023, 10:40:24 PM
Arsenal managed to get a 3-0 score in the match against Oxford Utd and managed to get the win, but in the next game, Arsenal faced several big clubs who had good defensive strength, so it was very difficult to penetrate their defense. Arsenal had to prepare a different strategy than now against Tottenham.

That was an FA Cup game, not Premier League. Teams use different players in cup games and league games. Arteta still had to use most of his starters in this match. They couldn't find a goal until 63rd minute so he had to bring Zinchenko and Xhaka. Only Ødegaard stayed in bench so he's fresh. Nketiah scored two goals and boosted his morale. I'm happy he started scoring goals now. He's an important player in the absence of Jesus.
Arsenal will play two though games back to back, against Spurs and ManU. They have to pass this stage with minimum loss.

Yeah, managers use different squad of players for different leagues. It all depends on the importance of the match to the manager. Although, it was an FA cup came, I think Arsenal didn’t play at their best and only scored a goal in the second half of the game. I also love the fact that Nketiah has found his mojo and is now scoring goals. I think he has a lot of potential playing at Arsenal. And he is staring out to be a good replacement for Gabriel Jesus.
The game with Tottenham would be challenging and Arsenal would need to bring out their big guns to be able to win the game.

Posts are deleted by moderators if the posts are of low quality and/or spammy content or materials. There are also threads that are self moderated by the owner of the topic. If the OP of the thread you write in thinks your posts are of low quality and doesn’t really contribute or of any relevance to the topic.
I think someone could also get their post deleted if the person writes in a low quality thread that ends up getting deleted by a moderator.
1447  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: January 09, 2023, 10:18:28 PM
Money can never buy happiness. but without money, one cannot have happiness. everything in this world needs money, without money there is not much we can do. according to the theme of the title above and as you said, that money is a driving factor and without even being told that money can answer everything we need. in essence, money is used for things that are vital for humans today, as a means of transaction.
Not everything requires money. There are some things that no need money. For example, people in the village can get food from the forests, they don't need money to do it. But I can agree that money has a crucial role in human life, without money we will get difficulties in many things. Especially if we live in a city, money is almost the key to get any things.

Well, people always need money for any transaction. We buy everything with money, it is very clear in our daily life.

Money is no doubt important for our day to day activities and expenses. But not everyone sways to the tunes of money. There are people that are content with the little they’ve got. They live a modest life and has very little needs.
Admittedly, people that live in the city spend more money than people that live in the rural and countryside where things are more reserved. But, generally I do not agree with the OP that money is the motivating factor as there are some people that aren’t motivated or swayed by money
1448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Businesses That Accept Bitcoin Attract New Customers and Sales on: January 09, 2023, 10:11:07 PM
While I applaud businesses that adopts bitcoin as a means of accepting payments for their services, I don’t think that because of its adoption in a business, it would have a significant increase in the increase of customers that patronize the business.
While it may very well attract a few customers here and there, it would not be significant as most people today still pay for services in fiat. I do know a business that is accepting bitcoin as a payment method would definitely attract me as I would definitely love to pay for services with bitcoin.
1449  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: January 09, 2023, 10:00:27 PM
I don't know about it OP but your post could be a little anti-poor, not anti-poverty. We have to understand thaf oftentimes, poverty is never a choice for them to make but a culmination of circumstances that ultimately lead then to that moment. For me, it's hard to think about investing your money for the near future, when your kids are sick today and you'll have just about enough money to feed your family tomorrow. We oftentimes overlook other people's struggles just because it somehow worked out for us but you gotta admit, sometimes what separates us from them is just sheer dumb luck. Consider that.

I really don't like what the OP is saying, it sounds like he is looking down on the poor, and I agree with you that we are just getting luckier than them, not smarter than them. I wish those who are looking down on the poor to try once in the situation of the poor, I want to see how hard those people will work and how they will invest when there is no money to eat. Conversely, if those poor people were in our position, they could be more successful than we are.

I also wasn’t too keen to share in the opinions of the OP. It almost sounded to me like he was kinda putting the blame of not having any financial education and just generally being poor on the poor folks. And a lot of poor folks work really hard in their respective jobs to make ends meet. If it was all about working hard, then I know a lot of people would be billionaires today. I wouldn’t put all the blame on them for their situation.
While a lot of them may be lazy and hesitant to put in any work to better themselves and their lives, a considerable lot also work hard and try to better themselves and their lives.
1450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Failure of Exchnages can never be that of Bitcoin. on: January 09, 2023, 09:49:28 PM
I think exchanges play a big role in the general use of bitcoin as people could easily buy and trade in their coins for fiat at anytime. With the constant advertisements on the social media space, it has spread crypto and bitcoin far and wide, somewhat creating some sort of awareness.
While it has its uses, we shouldn’t forget also that they’re in it as a business. They claim to safely hold your coins for you so you don’t have to do so yourself. And bitcoin is there encouraging users on the need for self custody of your funds.

Bitcoin has risen above all the misconceptions and falsehoods. The demise of an exchange cannot be the demise of bitcoin.
1451  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammers use too much brain on: January 09, 2023, 09:16:37 PM
Today I was watching michael saylor podcast and youtube recommended me tesla giveaway elon much giving 100million send 1 btc get 2 btc scam
I know you all are know this scam
but beginners send crypto to these addresses like dumbs
I am sharing some images where this scammers made over 1btc and 8eth

nice scam idea, scammers use too much brain

This scams are so so lame. Why would anyone who supposedly want to go a giveaway using cryptocurrency want someone to first pay to a certain address and only then would you get double the amount. That’s a very poor idea for a scam and the scammers didn’t think much about it.

Sadly, a lot of people would still fall prey to this and would send some coins to the address to get double the worth back. I think the use of Elons picture is a nice touch as it would lead ignorant folks to believe more in the scam. I think people who would fall prey to this type of scam are either gullible or greedy or perhaps, both.
1452  Economy / Economics / Re: Effect of the FIFA world cup on Qatar's economy on: January 08, 2023, 11:56:19 PM
I would not call Qatar's ambitious hosting of the World Cup a losing one. The moment they bid and commit to spending hundreds of billions of dollars means they do not care about financial profit in the specific event. Qatar has the vision to modernize and tries to balance its economy from oil and gas dependence. It wanted to become a tourist attraction like Dubai and a financial hub like Singapore. Tiny Qatar also wanted to play a role in the world, be it in politics, sports, or anything under the sun. Government-owned Qatar Airways is always at the top as the best airline in the world. The new Qatar railway is also one of the best in the world. Al Jazeera is becoming a mainstream channel in many parts of the world.

Qatar has gotten what they had wanted from hosting the World Cup. And in my opinion, that’s the limelight hosting the world cup brings. After now, Qatar, already a tech and business hub, would greatly see an increase in new businesses and investment from foreign entities.
Qatar is already a super rich country, with a good economy. Now that they’re in the limelight, they’ve now gotten some added influence in the world stage as well.
Qatar has great plans and they’re well on their way towards achieving it.
1453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 08, 2023, 11:41:15 PM
Indeed, I think with Chelsea this is not surprising. We already know very well how Chelsea's condition this season. Even against small clubs, they often get in trouble and can't play to their full potential. Let's just see how the results of the match have performed so far, they have lost more often. Chelsea needs a lot of overhaul on various fronts. And this season has been a really bad season for them because of their own performance and bad management.
Chelsea is living a nightmare after being humiliated by Manchester City by conceding up to four goals, which is unfortunate, but it is only natural that Chelsea cannot compete with a team the size of Manchester City. With this match being used by Manchester City to look for lots of goals to add points at the top of the standings,

Chelsea, at its present form is in no shape to stand up to Manchester City. I expected a win from Manchester City as they didn’t disappoint me. I had expected Manchester City to win but didn’t expect Chelsea to concede as much goals as they did. I almost felt sorry for them.
Manchester city is in top form and hungry for goals and wins, trying so hard to catch up to Arsenal who’s presently chilling at the top spot. They might just catch up. Who knows?
1454  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges lie to you! on: January 08, 2023, 11:07:32 PM
Large corporations always give misleading or small white lies in most of their advertisements.
In this case, people may have gotten spooked with ftx going under and coinbase may have lost some of their clients and have released that ad in an effort to woo unsuspecting and new clients.
If that’s the case, then I’m glad. The ad is misleading and someone who’s ready to take them at their word would most likely get disappointed sooner or later on.
1455  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: January 08, 2023, 10:51:29 PM
A lot. Especially with the job, it's very hard to get a job nowadays when u only have little skill.

What do you expect? Will they leave people with great skills to employ some one with little skills. Whatever skills one is learning, one should try and learn fully. With your great skills, employer will be the one running after you.

I’m todays world, skills is a must have for todays job seeker as skills would obviously boost his application for any job. While skills are important, having a great educational experience and qualifications is also necessary in order to get a good job.
I think an employer could also hire an applicant with various educational qualifications and degrees and then spend some good money to train and equip the applicant with the skills necessary for the job. So while we strive to get skilled in whatever we do, it’s always great to have a college degree attached.

If you’re asking if I’m willing to undergo a change of name and then I’ll be given 2000 bitcoin, ask no further  Grin
I’ll probably undergo a change of name for that much. 2000 bitcoin is a lot! And I would imagine most people(if not all) would definitely undergo a change of name. I know I will.
I think it would take a lot less to get people to change their names. I know folks who would definitely be willing to undergo a change of name for 1btc.

In addition to the myriad of different answers on here, I would like to add that it is never too late to do whatever you want to do. Never! All you’ve got to do it to just do it.
Personally, I don’t think you’re too old or it’s too late to invest in bitcoin. There is no age nor time limit for anyone willing to invest in bitcoin.

Right now, you’re probably seeing your age as somewhat of a hinderance to fully go into bitcoin. Please don’t. Bitcoin is accommodating and is for everyone of all ages.
If you’ve determined in your mind that you want to hold and invest in bitcoin, there is nothing that can stop you.
