I consider this scamming ~80k BTC and will not be doing any business with MNW nor buy "his" magazine (unless he is no longer is associated with it).

Ahh, the joys of the libertatian utopia.

A world, where cash is untraceable, and police and laws and lawyers do not exist.

A dream come true Smiley
It is wonderful. All the idiots who gambled on this scheme get to eat their own losses intead of claiming "exigent circumstances" and "systemic risk" and forcing their losses on to me at gunpoint. I get to fully enjoy the benefit of choosing to not participate in a Ponzi scheme.

you are taking a big risk fully trusting someone based off ID and social networks.

And with great risk comes great rewards.

You are right of course, but I chose my path. I think you're absolutely right and I appreciate your advice though.
If you believe he is right then why do you claim that he is "not anonymous" in the answer I was entitled to? Having a fake ID is in essence equal to being anonymous, in fact the only point of having a fake ID is to be anonymous. If you believe that doing "any business with anonymous people is downright ridiculous" and all it takes to convince you is a fake facebook profile and some obscure ID i'm really questioning your point. I mean it's basically the same thing?
1446  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: August 24, 2012, 12:16:03 PM
#22 (if you feel like answering extra questions) : Based on your past history you seem to lack faith in any anonymous person yet you make a 10 000 btc bet on an anonymous person with (for the most part) anonymous people?

I have not read the entire thread, but in your original post you said 100 post minimum, now it seem you have changed it to 250? Am I still allowed to bet? Also I will only have to pay if pirate pays out 100% of what is owed correct?
1449  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pirate paying back investors within a week OR two? on: August 21, 2012, 01:59:11 PM
Making a claim that your IP cannot be traced with such conviction, yet unable to spell Tor right just made wonder if you perhaps was a little too confident in your technical abilities to stay anonymous. There are many with such confidence that are now in jail, the LulzSec guy is one of them. Thought he had it all figured out. Pirateat is also only human and one slip up is enough to bring him down. You cannot assume that he is simply untraceable, that was my point.

Why is it called Tor?

[...]

Note: even though it originally came from an acronym, Tor is not spelled "TOR". Only the first letter is capitalized. In fact, we can usually spot people who haven't read any of our website (and have instead learned everything they know about Tor from news articles) by the fact that they spell it wrong.
1450  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pirate paying back investors within a week OR two? on: August 21, 2012, 01:21:30 PM
You might want to learn to spell Tor right before you try doing something stupid with the belief you won't be found.

wow biggest faggot I ever met on the internet and that's really saying something.
Being the biggest faggot you ever met doesn't invalidate my argument.
1451  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pirate paying back investors within a week OR two? on: August 20, 2012, 11:10:35 PM
even I have the ability to never be found via IP.
You might want to learn to spell Tor right before you try doing something stupid with the belief you won't be found. That said, I agree that IP by itself shouldn't be enough proof of anything. As for giving a ponzi sheme operator credit, I don't know, perhaps some credit for proving human stupidity?

Bitcoin-otc:

Pirate was identified with both Nickserv and gribble.

Does the IRC server log ip addresses? What other information may be logged?

IP address really? What is VPN, TOR, Public wifi, https://www.wpacracker.com/, ect...

IP address is useless.
Not so. LulzSec hacker used VPN and it was just a simple matter of going to the VPN provider and have them hand over all details. Now he is in jail.

Surely, pirateat might have used more protection than just a vpn, but then again he might not.

Hackers have already expressed already dismay after it emerged that that Cody Kretsinger, who was arrested by the FBI last Thursday for allegedly hacking into the Sony Pictures website, had been identified via his use of HideMyAss's proxy service to disguise his IP (internet protocol) address when connecting to the Sony Pictures site.
1453  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LibertyReserve mass account blocking on: August 20, 2012, 08:48:47 PM
I sense the history of e-gold repeating. Perhaps there has been a government raid or demands recently imposed upon liberty reserve? I see no other reason for them to suddenly start blocking accounts, going overdue in maintenance mode, acting unreliable and basically ruining their own business? Will be interesting to see this unfold, I am afraid we might see the death of LR. There is lots of business going on in LR that will need to find a new home. Shame to lose another good payment processor, but hey, maybe bitcoin can take its place?

Wow!! Congratulations and good job finding an approved partner! Would it be allowed to use this service to say, pay other people? Or only to fund ones own paypal account?

I think this service will be useful for many, especially if you can lower that fee.
1456  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We need a predictions market for bitcoin on: July 12, 2011, 01:25:52 PM
I'm working on this, it will work similar to intrade where you can buy/sell shares depending on if you believe the event will occur or not. I'm not just making a prediction market, but multiple markets so it will take some time (aiming for 1-2 months).

The greatest issue with such market is probably the work involved setting up and ending predictions, I was thinking to create a system where members can submit suggestions and then make it available for voting where those suggested predictions with the most votes are being implemented (in addition to a few predictions that run continuously.)

Maybe he is talking about the XSS vulnerability on the payment page. If I recall correctly I was able to send code to it.
