1442  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Closing down on: August 22, 2012, 03:35:29 PM
hello,
i do have only a small account (16 + 1) and i am willing to sell it.
but since i also still believe pirate will pay, it won't be cheap. (~ 90%)

let me know if you are interested nevertheless.

Why would you sell it for less than 100% if you believe pirate is going to pay?
Because you think the price might drop.
1443  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How many people would actually consider selling their BitcoinMAX account? on: August 22, 2012, 03:10:13 PM
If you would pay me 95% of the value I would.

A bit stiff at the moment. I think I'd wait until things get a bit more dire. :-)
Call me deluded (and many would around here, it seems), but I think he's going to pay out.

I would only sell in order to shield myself from price changes.

1445  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hey Pirate, it's Monday....WHERE ARE MY BITCOINS ? on: August 22, 2012, 05:24:30 AM
Fuck me...
I am the ONLY one showing any backbone.
No, you are the only one working against their own interest.

Calling him out in such a way won't help you.

Dont forget, if pirate doesnt pay bitlane in 14 days (iirc?), he will lose his 5000BTC bet with Vandroiy.

Either Pirate is running a scam, and bitlane wont get paid anyhow, or he is  legit, and not paying bitline within 14 days will cost pirate a pretty penny. Bitlane doesnt have much to lose from yelling and being his usual noisy self.
Pirate may choose to pay him at the very last minute, while everyone else may be paid out tomorrow.

Considering that this includes interest up to the payout point (correct?), that would quite a punishment, poor bitlane. Logic 101? anyone? follow up on this.
His account is closed so wouldn't get interest. Facts 101?

While I doubt that he had that much of an impact individually, the climate of the forum may have done so and he certainly contributes to that.

All he had to do was be a MAN and stick to his word.
Or you would go crazy and reduce your chances of getting paid in a timely manner?

Well done, bitlane.

You really know how to make your payment the lowest priority.

How could you possibly think making so many agressive threads would help?

You know that it was because of bitlane that the default "closing down" occurred in the first place?  Grin

1453  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Who Pays What? on: August 20, 2012, 06:46:44 AM
Anyway, back on topic, working my way through the lending section - deposit offerings are pretty scarce.
Like everyone else I will be looking to park my coins later today if Pirate pays out.

I am really hoping you will have some space in either your 1% offering or your Kraken fund.
1454  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin fall below $7 today on: August 19, 2012, 06:53:39 PM
If we are talking UTC then I think yes, it probably will.
1455  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is interesting about this drop for me... on: August 19, 2012, 06:51:22 PM
This is my thinking.

My friend who has been investing with me is understandably worried, but I see this as an opportunity to buy up more coins cheaply.

1456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 200% away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: August 19, 2012, 06:35:04 PM
I will ask again as I can't find any deadlines for refunds anywhere. Apparently "one week" since a date I don't know.

If there's a clear deadline and it's less than a week from now I'm betting.

Is there any deadline? or can it be delayed indefinitely as long as Pirate doesn't admit to not going to pay up everybody?
The easiest way to run this is to use nanotube's judgement in the well publicised bet.

Okay I think I am retarded, I bet 1 BTC..... If pirate@40 doesn't pay out everyone by whatever date.... then I get 200% more BTC? Cheesy
You get 1 BTC from Matthew in that case.

The title confused me too; I'm used to fraction odds!

Sorry, I'm really not used to this. What should the title be?
I would say something like: "I will match any bet up to 100 BTC that pirate is a fraud"

Though I'm no expert and your original title may well be correct.
1459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 200% away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: August 19, 2012, 06:24:18 PM
At this point (imo) paying out does not make this enterprize anything short of a ponzi. Prove me wrong, please.
If he's been operating a ponzi for 8 months and paying out interest from the deposits, where would he make up the short fall from in order to return the funds?
