1441  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Benefit from possible BTC dive? on: December 09, 2017, 12:53:30 PM
usually a bitcoin drop creates as much chaos as its rise makes.

in cases like this i prefer not to get too involved with the market specially getting involved with altcoins. and i keep to it at least for a while until i can see some solid movement somewhere then come in to invest in it.

and it is impossible to say which coin is going to rise if bitcoin drops too. for example after the recent drop, LTC suddenly went up nearly 60%
1442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining on the adroid phone is not possible? on: December 09, 2017, 12:36:21 PM
it is like asking about possibility of cooking meet with a matchstick instead of using the stove! you may be able to do it but you wold have to burn a million matches as fast as you can!
1443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are The Banks Scared of Bitcoin? on: December 09, 2017, 12:30:41 PM
mostly banks are happy about bitcoin as it goes up and down and as people trade bitcoin they have to go through banks to get money in and out of exchanges and that is a lot of transactions and a lot of fees they are earning because bitcoin exists!!

and bitcoin is too small to threaten banks. at least for years it will be the same. unless something like Lightning Network comes and lives up to the promise an actually be used with lower fees not higher costs. that would be when they really fear it.
1444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Epic level pump and dump on: December 08, 2017, 11:49:18 AM
Only miners can add new firmware,
if it were true, we would have already have SegWit2x since it had >90% miners support but so little community and node support!

Quote
a flaw in the design of Bitcoin.
ETH is also the same!

Quote
Dash uses the Masternodes.
and is controlled by them. a normal user has no say in it and can not run a masternode.

Quote
BIP 148 let nodes (exchanges)
BIP 148 was a joke and a bad example. but UASF in general is a different story, the nodes have more power than you may think. it is obviously not as much as miners but they are not as powerless as you show them to be.
1445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest worries about altcoins and ICO? on: December 08, 2017, 11:38:55 AM
Altcoins are fairly recent and new, what are your biggest worries about them?
Mine is that they may not be as successful as Bitcoin, and end up tanking after my investment.

that is a valid concern and that is why people are only investing in altcoins as a short term investment and dump them after they are pumped up. that is why we call them pump and dump anyways.

most of them have no real adoption and when you check them out as a "currency" you can see they fail because of the issues they are introducing unknowingly for example having faster blocks or bigger and faster blocks!
1446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Epic level pump and dump on: December 08, 2017, 11:29:27 AM
Bitcoin cannot be a "store of value." It is not digital gold. That would be Ethereum or Dash.
LOL, dream on.

Quote
Bitcoin is only driven by investors since it isn't useful as a currency.
the two altcoins you are clearly bag holding are even worse. look at what cryptokitties is doing to ethereum Wink

Quote
When sell pressure becomes greater than buy pressure, the price will fall with no demand to catch it.
and Dash and Ethereum have this demand to catch it?

Quote
This could lead to a panic and an epic crash.
sometimes crashes are necessary in a market to right a wrong. and this rise to $19000 was horribly wrong and needs to be "corrected". if it corrects with a panic, then so be it. it won't be the first time a panic sell happens and will certainly not be the last.

Quote
The only people who can fix this are the miners.
If they speed up the transaction and lower fees, it will become a currency. Then when investors sell, currency use will create a demand floor to prevent a crash.
unfortunately you do not understand how bitcoin works.
miners have no power over fees or speed of the transactions. it is controlled by the block size and it needs to be limited. we can not have 1 GB blocks or we will see a doomed faith similar to what ETH is experiencing these days.
1447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it crash in the next few days? on: December 08, 2017, 11:16:21 AM
I've been pulling my hair out trying to 'cash out'.
I sent from my Ledger to Coinbase.

this is not called "cashing out"!
and the issue is that you have simply included a small fee in your transaction. if you are afraid of the drop (crash) then just calculate how much you would lose in case of a crash and then compare it with the fee that you should pay if you want a high priority (400 satoshi/byte) if it is higher than that then just include a higher fee and sell as fast as you can.
1448  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin value on: December 07, 2017, 02:55:09 PM
Hello, I have some difficult on find the BTC price.
For example in this moment GDAX 15.700$, CEX.IO shows 16.400$ , platform MT5 shows 14.700.

Which is the real value?

all of these prices are real! because real people are paying real money on each of these platforms to receive real bitcoins in return and they can withdraw it and others are selling real bitcoins for that price and getting real cash and withdrawing it.

the reason why these differences happen is mainly because of the small nature of each of these markets combined with a surge of demand. people are less willing to sell their bitcoin these days which means price keeps rising more than it can drop. and with the increased demand the price sometimes rises more on some platforms than the others. and with a delay they small ones will follow.
1449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening to Ethereum transactions ?? on: December 07, 2017, 02:42:02 PM
ethereum network is incapable of handling large number of transactions. it has already been proven multiple times. twice before that i can recall due to a couple of ICOs which were booming and the third time i know which is now is becuase of these crypto-kitties which are producing a large number of transactions on ETH chain which is making everything else fail...
1450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pump or dump after the Bitcoin futures contracts on: December 07, 2017, 02:34:48 PM
In a couple of days Bitcoin futures contracts which will be launch on Nasdaq, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group(CME) and others.

as far as i know CME is this month. NASDAQ is next year in the first half. and i don't know about any "others"!

Quote
The question is, what's your own point of view?

i think price will fall after the CME market starts but only because it has been rising with an extraordinary speed. and it would be time for a decent drop and a correction. it is only a logical thing to happen after a rise of this magnitude.
but it won't have anything in particular with the market itself! and it certainly won't be a "dump" per se. maybe a panic sell is a better way to explain it.
1451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to start with Bitcoin? on: December 07, 2017, 02:26:08 PM
there are two sides to bitcoin.
the first thing that you keep constantly hearing is the investment side where price goes up and down and makes traders happy! for that you need to learn about trading and know the risks that the volatile market of bitcoin has.

the other side is the technology and the currency part. for that you can start at bitcoin.org there is a good enough starting information to get you started on the basics and how things work. also you can read about different wallets and their differences there.
1452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at $15,000 ATH now. Where do we go from here? POLL. on: December 07, 2017, 02:21:14 PM
some people have just got hit with the reality and are not pouring their money into bitcoin without any hesitation. this is what a fear of missing out looks like in my opinion.
this is great while it lasts but i am now afraid these same people are going to cause a bear market after a very long time of having no bear market, unless you call the short drops as one!
1453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next (Nxt) likely a sleeper: late Dec hard fork w. free Ignis airdrop on: December 06, 2017, 02:17:06 PM
all true but the problem here is that NXT is already pumped!
and i am not saying it won't be pumped anymore but we are all speculating here and based on past experiences everyone knows that a coin that is already pumped like this does not have much fuel left in its rocket for another pump this soon, specially for silly things like a fork or an airdrop.
1454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Rise or Correction as it already reached 400$ on: December 06, 2017, 02:03:55 PM
speculating about Ethereum has always been one of the hardest things for me. at least most of the times since on rare occasions the pumps and dumps are visible from miles away!

it is hard because it defies all the logic that i have. it rises when it should really be falling and failing. you can see how the network is congested and all the transactions are failing and even disappearing. we have seen lots of hacks and wallet issues, lots of smart contract failure, lots of ICO scams and so many other indicators that could have led to dumping of so many other projects. to be honest i am surprised how ETH is still standing up right now!
1455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum At The End Of 2017 on: December 06, 2017, 01:49:06 PM
What the hell is going on with etherium transactions?

Waiting whole day for transaction and nothing on etherscan. My friend transferred yesterday and still nothing..

there is a project on this platform called "cryptokittens" which is practically a game using the ethereum platform to create virtual kitties for people and they grow them and play with them and i believe trade them also.

this created a small increase in the number of transactions on ETH network which led to crippling the whole system for more than 2 days now.
1456  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Pump and Dump. How to make a profit? on: December 06, 2017, 01:37:29 PM
it is pretty difficult and sometimes even impossible to predict. and joining the pumps is also a risky move too. but you know with big risks comes great rewards.

the trick is figuring when a coin is getting pumped. sometimes it starts with some sort of news. this an be quite weird and seemingly unrelated news such as the developers releasing a wallet for mobile! and sometimes it can be a predictable news like being listed on a big exchange, specially poloniex. that one will get pumped without a doubt.

then it comes to timing. to get in before the pump is over and buy as much as you can afford to lose and then getting out right before the pump ends or before the dump happens to be precise. that way you maximize your profit.
1457  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to buy Bitcoin on: December 06, 2017, 01:28:02 PM
you do realize that you shouldn't really be taking advice like this from random people on the internet! for all you know, we are all fooling you into losing your money.

i know it is hard, but trust me it is only hard at first. try to come up with your own speculation and predict the market on your own. you will me so much more successful than when you ask random people random questions like this.
1458  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will crash one day? on: December 06, 2017, 01:21:13 PM
hopefully it will crash once more pretty soon so that all of us can make a nice and huge amount of profit. i will be waiting for the signals to find the best time to sell my trading (BTC) funds and place my buy orders at the bottom of the panic sell...

that is how i have made most of my current stash anyways Wink
1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash Over 3000$ on: December 03, 2017, 12:42:36 PM
Curious what will happen when [u r l =https://coincodex.com/article/1107/cboe-might-launch-ethereum-and-bitcoin-cash-futures/]Bitcoin Cash futures[/url] are launched.

I am actually curious whether the BCash futures will indeed be launched.
There are plenty other altcoins deserving more attention than BCash and I tend to believe that they may end up with Ethereum and Bitcoin...

if history is any indication, that link is a pure hype and the author of it is bag holding both BCH and ETH.
not so long ago when bitcoin was rising fast due to the rumors of an ETF being considered by the SEC, the same article was released saying ETH is going to have an ETF and it is going to be accepted while they reject bitcoin's!!! and surely enough nothing even happened remotely close to it.

now they are using the hype to fake their pump again. it is not as effective as they think it is though.
1460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 11k plus is the price of Bitcoin Now. my fear is..... on: December 03, 2017, 12:34:27 PM
maybe it happens and maybe it goes to $1000000000000000 suddenly. that is as believable as what you said because i am giving just as much information as you do.

you see, irrational fear is not a good thing. the same as irrational wishfulness is not good.
price already had its rise and correction and accumulation and rise again.

can it fall? yes.
can it rise? yes.
how much did you invest? more than you can afford to lose?
