1441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Both centralized exchanges and dex arent perfect on: December 03, 2020, 10:37:36 AM
You need to use both CEX and DEX to understand and choose which one is better for your need, I've used both and I'm still more into centralized projects for few reasons, the only thing DEX get better with is security, users are in total control of their funds but every other things aren't to satisfying

At the end of the day, it is up to the user which one he will use to trade with. There are pros and cons on both sides. And you will be the one to assess which one really suits your needs at a particular situation. Because for example, not all the time that DEX has the coin that you want to trade with and it is only found in CEX. And admit it, most of the time, there is no trading volume in DEX. Both types of exchanges are not perfect, but it is on you how you will lessen the potential screw up of your privacy. Submit your KYC only when necessary and make sure the site is legit, not to those never-heard exchanges.
1442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP must be considered a stable coin on: December 02, 2020, 11:22:48 PM
I don't agree with the opinion that XRP is considered a stablecoin, because in fact XRP is not a stablecoin. The opening post must accept
the fact that XRP cannot be considered a stablecoin, because XRP is not like USDT. We can compare the trading chart between USDT and
XRP which is very different, XRP price movements are volatile. Maybe because after reaching all-time high prices, XRP prices do look stable,
but that doesn't mean XRP can be considered a stablecoin.

I think the OP is just being sarcastic about it. It was long time that it was in the 20 cents level and only recently that it spike its price in the market. And with the upcoming flare airdrop for XRP holders, I guess the price will go up just before the snapshot and may go down afterwards. But in terms of payment application, XRP coin is really doing good job on that part. Their fee is really cheap as compared to btc.
1443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Xenios Coin 🌍[XNC]🌍 An innovative Powerfull X11 digital currency! on: December 02, 2020, 10:03:14 PM
Hello,

As a miner, why even bother with a POW for this coin.  As pointed out, this coin is in no uncertain terms, not a miner's coin.  Furthermore, it is not a GREEN COIN, in fact it wastes so much electricity to mine 1 XNC if you mine that long for at most a cent.  Like the rest of the miners, no thanks, I hope you are not relying on the POW phase to move your blockchain!!

Right now, you can sell 1 XNC at about $0.42, checking in altilly exchange only. So if you will pay electricity bill more than what you can earn for 1 coin, then better stop mining. Maybe, it will be profitable to do the trading, however, the risk is always there as this coin is not that popular. They are not even listed in top exchanges. It is up to you at the end of the day. They are not obliging you to mine this coin, better look for other good alternatives out there.
1444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Data is the new DeFi - Tapmydata lets people control, own and license their data on: December 02, 2020, 08:19:35 PM
If you want to post some images in your ANN thread, you can purchase copper membership here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote. Because there are a lot of DeFi-related projects here and you are competing with the interest of users here. So make your ANN at least eye-catching.

And as much as possible, the engagement with the community will be active all throughout your journey in crypto. Because normally, the interest fades after few months of existence here.
1445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Im planning to invest in Ethereum. Is this a good plan? on: December 01, 2020, 11:23:31 PM
Ethereum has a tremendous development in Q4 called Ethereum 2.0,
of course this makes investors interested in entering, like CZ did, he entered Ethereum with some ETH that he bought,
and of course this is a sign for us to be able to analyze that this time is right to buy Ethereum

The OP posted this in Aug, and eth was about $400+ at that time, so if he invested on eth at the time of posting, he is already in positive here. And since eth 2.0 is already starting, I am expecting that it will further increase its value in the succeeding months. Even today, you can still buy some eth. As long as you will sell it at higher price than what you bought, you are good to go. Eth has a good foundation and active development team, so I think this is one of the worthwhile projects out there.
1446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: does it really make sense trading on Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2020, 10:05:20 PM
You shared your view about how you perceive crypto, holders or traders - fair enough. However, saying that holders follow the herd isn't particularly accurate as a person circumstance is different and maybe holding is the right thing for them. Or perhaps they don't have the time or skills to want to trade.

At the end of the day this is irrelevant. For a market to be stable and prosperous, you need to have a balance, and being a holder isn't necessarily bad and nor is a trader. These are just different strategies suited for different people - take your pick  Wink

What more can I say? Mind your own business, as boyptc also implied. And I guess, everyone should do that. It depends on your preferences how you will attack this market, either you can do your day trading or hold? You can also get profits from intermittent trading, however, patience is needed on this aspect. That's why some people prefer to hold because they have no time to subject themselves in this stressful activity. But if you can handle day trading, why not? Some can really accumulate more profits by doing this activity as compared to those that hold for long time.
1447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is POW algo abandoned? on: December 01, 2020, 09:05:58 PM
Proof of work algorithm are fading away because almost all new projects today are going for POS instead and I don't see how this is bad because POS just do things better and easier, also devs on nowadays prefers tokens (ERC20) more than stand alone blockchain because it's just take few buttons to built, I'm not sure OP will find any good new altcoins to mine

More garbage, PoW is not an algo.
There was a time when 3 new PoS coins arrived every day, none survived in a meaningful way to this day.
The very first, PoS  coin, Peercoin was once a top 3 coin, current rank #631
The very first  PoW->PoS coin Blackcoin was once as high as 9 current rank #1012 that is a fail by any standard.
The only thing produced now is tokens, cause just about anyone can make a flash web-page.

There is lots and lots of algorithms, here are some:
SHA256
Scrypt
X11
X13
X15
Lyra2RE
Script-Chacha
Script-N
Scrypt Jane
NeoScript
ZR5
Cryptonight
Blake-256
M7
......

Yes, I remember peercoin and blackcoin as I was collecting them from faucets. Now, I forgot what I did with those collected coins.  Grin Anyway, because times are changing and the popular platforms that a particular developer can build his project from is still eth and recently, on defi platforms. Stand-alone blockchain network is now seemingly left behind. But those top alts with own blockchain can still survive as long as they have active developments in place.
1448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top on 3 Reasons, Why XRP Price is Pumping very hard on: November 30, 2020, 11:19:53 PM
OP should put some reference links on his post.

https://coinpedia.org/news/why-xrp-price-is-pumping/

https://coinpedia.org/news/analyst-bullish-on-ripple-xrp-price/

Also, XRP did buyback recently and it was the first time in their history. In which, they said may continue this activity. This will be good in supporting the price level in their market and may further contribute to the increase of its value.

1449  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER: ParleFrance scammed me on: November 30, 2020, 10:24:18 PM

Nope. Consider your money gone.

Why would you deal with newbies without any feedback or reputation on the forum? You could have used an escrow? Sorry for your loss but you shouldn't be sending money first to random strangers on the internet. I left him a negative rating and supported your flag. Seems like you're not the first person he scammed here.

Newbie with no reputation, for sure, it will be easy for him to scam anyone. He can just abandon the account and create a new one. You should have bought in a reputable member here. Also, have you seen his profile before the deal, because there is one feedback made on Nov 25, saying old scammer and multi-accounter? And the exchange of your conversation was Nov 27. You should have checked his profile first.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=2882648

So it means, he will screw other persons again. You will not get back your money.
1450  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to get VIP Signals? on: November 30, 2020, 08:14:16 PM
I have searched a lot. And also watched many videos but still didn't get any legit VIP Signals group.

Some are those which are asking for the fee. I want to submit the fee but afraid they will grab and will not give the correct signals.

Want help If there is anyone who knows any good crypto VIP signals group. So please share.

Just a suggestion do not rely on signal groups it's very dangerous for newbie to follow others prediction that mostly not accurate because it's really hard to read the market price. Instead of looking for signal group increase your knowledge and learn TA this is a good knowledge you should add to yourself and it will give you good return in long term than joining in a signal channel,  that you'll never know if it's accurate.

I totally agree with you. I joined free signal groups before just to check how they do things and there's no way you can catch the right timing as they are bit delayed with their announcements. So you will end up buying at a peak price and be left as bag holder of those coins. So in effect, you lose. Only those owners are gaining. However, I can't say about VIP Signals. But just like what others have said, better cultivate your knowledge in trading rather than consume your time looking for these VIP signals because in the long run, it will not help you as a trader. They may offer too good to be true ROIs in exchange of expensive fee, but when you are inside, there's no way you can earn that much.
1451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Altcoins replace Bitcoin?!?!? on: November 29, 2020, 09:37:03 PM
Will the rise of altcoins eventually lead to the demise of Bitcoin? Ultimately Bitcoin has been tested and it has a place in the crypto world. Join our  discord https://discord.gg/pp7Jwsp9 for further discussions about this topic. Tell me what you think?

Altcoin rise because Bitcoin risen, Still the price of bitcoin dictates the general market price so if there is a coin that can take over Bitcoin, Probably it should be a stablecoin with a huge marketcap because there's still no coin that is not correlated to Bitcoin and I don't know if a coin will exist to overcome it.

Stop promoting your discord channel for the follow up discussion you created in the forum.

So he's just promoting his discord channel here.  Tongue Because we can have good discussion here also.

And replacing bitcoin? Many have tried, attempted to replace bitcoin. How many projects have you encountered stating that they are faster than bitcoin, cheaper than bitcoin, more cutting-edge than bitcoin, and yet, where are they now? And here is bitcoin, still standing strong among them. Bitcoin has flaws, let's admit it, but would be hard to replace and surpass its popularity among crypto users. Even noncrypto users, the first thing that come up to their minds is bitcoin, when you mention crypto. How can you beat that?
1452  Economy / Economics / Re: Ray Dalio Admits He May Be Wrong About Bitcoin" on: November 29, 2020, 07:59:37 PM
The reason that guy agreed to correct himself during the time of bullish run sounds to me like he got some bitcoins himself and is waiting for a rally.

1. You can engage in p2p exchange very easily without intermediary plus we do have many new sites emerging selling stuff which can be purchased in Bitcoins

2. The Volatility does make it an excellent option when it comes to trading and thus the limited supply is all +++ ..

3. Government is themselves getting benefited from the crypto businesses like online casinos. They don't want to ban Bitcoins, they can't, they want to regulate them.

I have the same feeling also that he is also investing in crypto, maybe not only bitcoin but other alts like eth. So he is being open-mind about this. Maybe, he has limited information regarding the availability of crypto in terms of merchants or shops that are already accepting crypto as part of their payment system. But with the move of PayPal accepting crypto in their system, more people will be oriented with crypto.
1453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SurfNode coin cryptocurrency using X11 algorithm - PoW/PoS/MN on: November 29, 2020, 07:05:10 PM
Does anyone else believe in such tales?
A node with a coin that is not traded anywhere and has almost 7000% ROI declared? But there are only 2 nodes in the network! Guys - selling such nodes for money is a great sin Smiley

I have the feeling that the fate of this is just the same as those MN coins that already died. An expensive MN, where you don't know if you can even get your initial funds back. And once they hit the exchanges, pump and dump strategy will be there, and then slowly, decrease of price up until there is no one interested to buy this even at 1 sat. Just the same strategy, buy a node from discord, because people from that channel, they can disappear anytime they want. So yeah, DYOR, dig deep and think not twice but many times before buying a single coin from them. What will be the use case that will make them survive in the market?
1454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Sheng World: The Game Changer for Lifestyle and Wellness Industry (ANN Thread) on: November 28, 2020, 11:17:13 PM
@erikalui @wedosgibas
The development team still active, but board team members such M Younas and Adrian not even communicate with me again. I made a contact with Nur Syukri three days ago, he say if also trying to reach Adrian since his team already finished their work, Nur Syukri give me this screenshot (marketplace by Sheng)

I can't say this project still alive or even died, will see the next info from Nur Syukri later, I hope he never go to give me any updates about Sheng.

I was wondering also about their marketplace as supposedly last month they will be deploying it according to their roadmap. But it seems, there will be delays here, which is normal these days. A lot of projects have been delayed owed to this pandemic. I have seen this project in the early days, and it seemed promising to me. I hope they can still push thru their platform into reality. If there are some activities going on, then there's still hope for this platform.

1455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Been cheated again on: November 28, 2020, 10:25:12 PM
And that's little!

I know projects that even ask you for ETH to receive payments.

And the tokens have no market!

I think the best way is to report these guys, but nevertheless they wear masks online.

I leave you an article about the most scammers of crypto in history: https://es.beincrypto.com/conoce-6-cripto-estafas-mas-grandes-historia-hasta-2020/
What a BS, That's basically scamming. They are basically forcing the bounty hunters to send eth and hunters can't avoid it since their hard work will be in vain if they don't send the amount.

But even if they got their tokens, will there be a value in the market? I don't think it is a smart move to compromise your account with worthless tokens. Also, it is better for the OP to create a scam accusation thread so people will know this kind of project. As others have already mentioned, if they are asking for your private keys, doubt the motive of the project. A legit one will never ask your private keys.
1456  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin founder on: November 28, 2020, 05:42:39 PM
Nothing will happen, is there something you're expecting to happen? Maybe a price surge or similar? Revealing his identity may not even draw much attention. Most bitcoiners don't care what Satoshi looks like (as far as bitcoin works fine for them).

In the first place, I don't think that will happen. If Satoshi wants to reveal himself, he should have done that a long time ago. But he remains to be anonymous up until now. A lot of speculations about his identity, conspiracy theories and the likes, and yet, no one has a clue about his real identity. And I don't think it is important to uncover that now. Just be grateful about this invention of his as many people are benefitting from this creation.
1457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Wanliuno Coin | No Premine | No ICO on: November 27, 2020, 11:12:11 PM
Also, this topic, with previous message, was been archived, in wayback-machine https://web.archive.org/, here: https://web.archive.org/web/20201126210935/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5275223.0

So another dead coin here? After couple of months of launching this coin, the dev is gone. Not really practical creating a platform aiming to compete a popular platform like eth. The problem with this is how you will attract developers or users in utilizing your no-name platform. So you will end up abandoning the project, as you couldn't get the interest of crypto users.
1458  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who actually moves the price of bitcoin? on: November 27, 2020, 08:46:16 PM
Most bitcoin prices are tied to an average or a collection of what the top exchanges publish as the current bitcoin price. But who's actually moving their prices? From my understanding, retail users don't have the power to move prices in the short term. Whales supposedly are the ones who can make the price suddenly jump or drop...but they trade on OTC desks right? not on retail exchanges....so how are these Whale movements being reflected on retail exchanges to determine what the current bitcoin price is? Or are there actually some whales who use the exchanges to trade on?

Whales play a major role toward the movement on the price of bitcoin. Since they own majority of the supply, they may be able to manipulate the market by purchasing/selling their shares depending on their goal (law of supply and demand).

Another factor that contributes to the price movement are consumers and users, in general. Due to bitcoin's limited supply, the more coins are being mined the prices and transaction fees increase on the market. In addition, the government may contribute to the price depending on their prohibition or laws relating to the adoption of cryptocurrencies.

All summed up, it is combination of those factors you mentioned. I don't think there is specific group that can truly influence the market. Unless, those whales will unite and decide what to do with their holdings. But not likely to happen as I don't think they are talking to each other about what to do with their holdings. So in my opinion, it is the fusion of those crypto stakeholders.
1459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real purpose of Bitcoin on: November 27, 2020, 07:21:37 PM
I think that Bitcoin will never lose its original purpose. In my opinion, the original purpose of it is providing people an opportunity to use it freely on different fields and not seeing it as just an investment tool. For example, it is used in various places now. People use it in shops, on online shopping, on buying a property etc. . Bitcoin usage in different fields continues to increase. So, I think that people will never see it as just an investment tool.
People making bitcoin as a means of investment is growing but at the end of it, it's still being used for peer-to-peer transactions so the purpose was still there. I agree, people just find a good opportunity to make it as an investment tool that's why we see more people investing in bitcoin. But looking at the brighter side, it shows that bitcoin uses is just growing since people were able to make use of it in different ways they can.

Yes, I do agree with that. The real purpose is still there but somehow some crypto holders are considering it as an investment. Because if the purpose is being totally taken away and just used it as investment, the growth will not be big. Some countries are using crypto mainly in remittance purposes, which I believe is a good purpose also of crypto. And with PayPal's announcement about the inclusion of crypto in their system, this is one of the purposes that Satoshi thought about. So yes, the real purpose of btc is still in existence.
1460  Economy / Economics / Re: Different online business we can involve in on: November 26, 2020, 10:52:43 PM
You got a nice list but not going to lie, most of those are already saturated. I mean, the competition is too tight. Look at how many bloggers are there. Enter Instagram and you will see shit tons of so called "Influencers". Go to those freelancing websites and you will see how many "skilled" writers, graphics designers  and Web developers are there and are willing to work for less than minimum wage! Want to go for selling digital products? What out for those competitors that already has captured the customer base and will be willing to cut their price down to compete you. Though you did also mention some different business like domain flipping that aren't saturated but does require investment and time.

If you can't compete with those markets, why not look for other options, like selling your unnecessary things/gadgets online? And if you have your own garden, you can sell your products online as well. Even within your own neighbourhood, you will not run out of customers. Because people will always buy something to eat. There are so many online options out there. Just know how you can make use of your talents and skills and resources. Only a lazy person will think that he doesn't have anything to offer to make his living in this pandemic.
