The forum is so harsh that even satoshi has been banned.  This is mistake? I've known for a long time that satoshi's account was locked (I think I must have read it in a post from theymos) to prevent it from being hacked. If satoshi wants to come back, all it takes is a signed message to theymos and he can regain access. @ satoshi: all it takes is one new post, and I'll send you 50 Merit  I didn't know "locked" also means he's banned though, until I added OmegaStarScream's list to my list of banned users. Most of them have probably been banned for years already, I just didn't know about them until last week. Last week, 1019 users on my Trust list viewer were marked as banned. Would this not favor first world countries with good infrastructure and massive backbones? We already see centralization with Bitcoin, because China monopolized ASIC manufacturing and low cost mining farms.  Bandwidth is much easier to buy abroad than mining equipment. If we switch from wasting electricity through wasting diskspace to wasting bandwidth, I'd love to join the madness before it breaks the internet. Unlike any other application that uses bandwidth, this won't have an upper limit to how much it can consume. The cheapest VPS I've seen gives 500 GB bandwidth per month for $1 per year. That translates to 18 Mbit/s for $1 per month. I doubt it's scalable at that price. At home, I pay a lot more, but I don't max out my bandwidth. If there'd be a financial incentive to do so, "unlimited bandwidth" would probably be replaced by a fair use policy. All in all I think it's a bad idea, but it would be interesting to see what happens if someone is crazy enough to build (and hype) this. |

What happened to all existing testnet Bitcoins anyway? Who's hoarding them? It's not supposed to be scarce, and it's not supposed to be in high demand. They're supposed to be easy to get for whoever needs them for testing anything Bitcoin related. At this point I'd say it's about time to reset testnet again, and start over from scratch. So instead of the options above, you could probably accelerate this by selling them! Of course, testnet Bitcoins aren't supposed to have value, and they aren't supposed to be sold, but at this point a reset may be better (for a while). Some altcoin giving an incentive for Testnet Bitcoins, that's not how testnet is supposed to be used. Should asking for Testnet Bitcoins even be allowed in Project Development? It's not as if they're sharing a new project or anything, it's basically no different than asking for donations: 7. No begging. |

Maybe it could eventually become green I think it did indeed: new positive ratings could "overrule" the negative in the old Trust system. 1) Post a neutral rating for Alice explaining why Bob's rating is incorrect. This is probably a better form of "counter" in this new system since neutrals are nearly equally visible in the trust score. That's what I did for WhyFhy: I second Steamtyme's disagreement with the red trust. See Reference link and the 2 posts that follow it. It doesn't fit this category: Positive - You think that this person is unlikely to scam anyone. If Neutral can do the job, don't use Negative or Positive. I see many negative feedback on the profiles with no link attached due to which it is hard to find why was the negative feedback given. Writing a generic reason with no link should be avoided. It depends: on Mobile, copy/pasting and adding evidence is a lot of work. So I only leave negative feedback for obvious scammers waiting to get Nuked. In retrospect, this one would be better with a link, but luckily the "Untrusted feedback" on the account explains it. |

Only 1 week for 1Bitcoin*? Interesting. Actually, it can be generated much faster, bitmover's list must be outdated. My old laptop gives 20 hours for 50% chance of finding such an address, and I've read about vanity generating speeds up to 100 times faster than this. So with modern hardware, you should be able to get several per hour. And if you just want "something nice", you can search for thousands of different word phrases at once. I have no idea if the tag is correct since I do not have sufficient knowledge on the issue. I consider RHavar very knowledgeable when it comes to provablye fair systems, and I trust him when he says this: They can actually check if you're going through the impractical ceremony on not! I verified this by checking the network requests, and AFAICT the only way to view the server-seed hash is via a network request to "/ajax/modal" with "modal=fairness".
So this means they can actually if you're verifying the bets or not. So they could trivially cheat only when they know you won't be able to tell (when you never requested the server-seed hash). |

Why not automatically temp ban people whose topic titles are similar enough to the ones OP mentioned, and have it expire for a week or so? Most scam topics have something like "[WORKING]" or "✔️Verified" or "Earn up to {x} BTC" so an automated banning bot can look for those key words.] MindlessElectron reports posts based on keywords. It's up to the Mods to manually verify the reports. Automated banning will lead to false positives, and scare off real users. |

He admitted he cheated in the past but if his claim right now is a legit win, how should Bitcasino go over this that spectators like us will learn who tell the truth? I don't think it matters much: LAngel admitted he won 171 BTC while gambling with funds gained from fraud. Being a high roller is a lot easier with stolen funds than using funds you worked for, and since the funds came from the casino in the first place, none of the profits belong to him. He didn't risk his own funds. |

if you used this list, and I'll be scrapping users starting from userID 940,001 (registered in January 2017), then I might end up with a similar list? Those users were banned 3 years ago already, since then many other older users might have been banned too. Also, do you happen to know when did Vod start to keep track of banned accounts (I'm referring to the list he gave you)? I'm not sure when @Vod started keeping track. |

I still can't make requests to your website from a browser because of CORS. Access to fetch at 'https://loyce.club/trust/latestversion.txt' from origin 'https://bitcointalk.org' has been blocked by
CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. If an opaque response serves your needs, set the request's mode to 'no-cors' to fetch the resource with CORS disabled. I have no idea what any of this means  It's also a simple fix, but I'm not sure what do you use for your website. I'm using standard Apache2. It's a text-file, I don't need headers  Other than that, I have already created a script (with a lot of copy pasting from BPIP's extension) that adds a button to your Trust List on everyone's profile/posts. I don't think I'll ever install a browser extension, but this is cool Since more than 99% of the users don't have a custom Trust list (and aren't mentioned on someone else's list): can you exclude those? Each week (starting Feb 8 this year) I've added a list of all profiles in it's subdirectory. Example: user_ids.txt. Further reading: this started around here. The latest version doesn't include users who used to be on a custom Trust list but aren't no longer on it. |
