The funniest part would be ...

If we wake up tomorrow and all those posts and threads will be deleted as of a part of APRIL FOOL. lol, I would like to see the face of everyone here.

In order to disinfect this I will be deleting all threads that I started with the self mod option.

I would think I can delete a few thousand posts of other people this way.

along with a few thousand of mine.

I will be starting here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5091665.msg48988960#msg48988960

But you have some great content there. I do not think deleting those is necessary apart form that today we have a lot of useless posts just because of Theymo-Virus20 and I am pretty sure they will get deleted.

Yeah it was old  time to get rid of the old and in with the new.  It was helpful to do it as I listen to my wife still coughing 90 days after being released from the hospital with double pneumonia which may have or may not have been caused by corona-v.

While I don't like the joke I get it and it will help some.  I picked a thread that was locked and a bit out of date. I did not want to punish people if they are earning with their signature's in a current thread.  I personally feel better for having done it.

I think I will move on to my 9 alt coin threads.  They had over a million views and I truly love them. But I am in lock down here in New Jersey facing 30 more days of Fud. I believe deleting my favorite pride and joy threads may help me cope with what will happen over the next thirty days.  These 9 threads date back to 2016 they should be out of date and old so time to clear out the old and make space for the new.

This thread  has been deleted to show corona-v is not a joke to me.

April Fools.

not.

Damn, this is first year when immediately relized that's a joke and not real thing. Thanks to this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5229603.0 which spoiled the fun and reminded about April 1st...
I don't think that this joke is bad taste. Offcourse, this virus is serious and concerning thing. But I think that some positive is always good. I don't think that we should panic and some people overreact about it.
BTW, this thread is dangerous for me, because I don't have face mask or respirator Cheesy.

Once your relatives get sick and on ventilators maybe you will think it is a sick joke .

14425  Other / Meta / Re: [April Fools] This better not be what I think it is... on: April 01, 2020, 04:51:36 AM
I'd rather stay prevented with my nose mask

i thought it was just a mistake but it seems like "nose mask" is actually a thing! they are actually selling these things. i wonder what they protect you from though Cheesy

This is funny. Thank you.
14426  Other / Meta / Re: [April Fools] This better not be what I think it is... on: April 01, 2020, 04:24:49 AM
I can’t be infected. My wife and I had it in early Jan.

this is confirmed via tests.
As for funny  my wife’s has four cousins that are infected.

One is in a coma on a ventilator he has about a 60-40 shot at surviving it.

Since I have suffered through it along with my wife  I can tell you it is not fun to have.

Lets hope that your wife's cousin makes it.

I hope he recovers.  The other three cousins are doing well.

My wife and I should be okay.

To all stay well.

14430  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: March 31, 2020, 11:58:29 PM
Fast updates

wife still coughing due to endless post nasal drip 💧 all caused by pneumonia in early jan.
i am fully recovered from this.
we suspect we had the corona-v then.

my wifes first cousin in Long Island New York and her husband have been released from hospital.
they had it and are recovering. they are both over 60.
she is a practicing nurse 👩‍⚕️.

we have a second cousin in Connecticut he has a mild version of it and is recovered. He was 50.
we have another second cousin in Connecticut her husband is in intensive care with it. an induced coma and a ventilator .   people in this spot die a lot. he is maybe 50-50 to live.

New Jersey New York and connecticut are   about 1/2 as bad as they are supposed to get.

So wherever you are  get masks gloves food water and be prepped for it to come to you.
here in NJ we may end up having 4-6 weeks restricted movement.

I try to shop for food 2 x a week.
I drop packages at fedex once a week.
I gassed the car 🚘 and try to not drive much at all.

as for diff.
we have not traveled to the farm in clifton since january.
a few small units are off line. 3 s9 and 1 L3+ but 2ph sha 256 and 10.5gh ltc on line.

we also did not bring the new s17+ online to the main farm.
buysolar is running it off his solar array.
we did not get the avalon a1066 pro gear to demo.
we wont be adding gear ⚙️ until a while.

diff is up 4-5% I suspect a lot of areas are waiting to see what this corona-v does to world 🌍 so many will not expand until may or later.

and then the 1/2 comes.

By the way.   bsv and bch do 1/2 ing very soon. this could bump btc diff.

three s9s one l3+ off line after sixty days of runtime with out hands on is pretty good.

all bigger gears are running.
14431  Other / Meta / Re: for fix it on: March 31, 2020, 07:53:56 PM
What does board does this not affect?  if you can pick one and you are correct I just say yep you are right but not yet wait a few weeks and that board will be affected.

It's not that Bitcoin is not affected but the sheer stupidity of most of the topics is needlessly polluting the forum. I wish mods would take a more proactive approach with this. We don't need repetitive threads on whether this is a biological weapon or if it's worse than a flu or if pool cleaner cures it or how we suffer by staying home and watching Netflix.

I would stick all bullshit into one megathread and apply Serious Discussion / Ivory Tower standards (which still allow a lot of conspiracy nonsense mind you) to the threads that are allowed to stay.

I would allow more then one but in general maybe  1 in five or six subforums.

1 IN each foreign language local forum.  Tell the mods to roll the threads into one in each section.

This disease looks that it will be a major death causing issue for at least 30 days world wide.
I would like to see no more then 1 in each section.

You are almost there.
14433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin during pandemics on: March 31, 2020, 02:11:47 PM
Been seeing a lot of post about the COVID-19 and how it affects different markets like stock, oil and cryptocurrency
but I wonder if these things are just now or it happens every time there is a pandemic disease like this.

I tried to search for some charts that might help to analyze if there are really a direct effect on the bitcoin with https://cointelegraph.com/bitcoin-price-index]

I'm not going to include the 2009 H1N1 pandemic virus since the bitcoin was created on that same year. I'ma start in 2012,
Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-COV)

DATED from Jan1 to June31 2012 (6months)
Discovery of MERS-COV was in April, Seems like there isn't much effect on the price not until in June when it starts to increase ( about 20%)

Ebola Virus
Although it was first discovered in 1976, there is an outbreak happened last 2014.

DATED FROM Jan1 to June31 2014 (6months)
The price increased relatively.
Price dump in Feb but recovers in March where the first case of Ebola was recorded.

COVID-19
Discovered in late 2019 (Pandemic outbreak; Recent)

The price seems great in mid-feb and reached $10K but then it starts declining when things are getting worse with COVID-19.

The bitcoin seems unaffected by the first two pandemic at those time, while now the COVID-19 looks so impactful but why?
The relative increasing of price might be the root why such pandemic disease happen so rattling the crypto space. But then again we cannot assure these things.

I'll update this thread if necessary.

As I understand the word pandemic it means most every country has an epidemic.
So this is the first pandemic of note since the spanish flu in 1918-1919. Dont count the 2014 diseases.

Also if all that is wrong Btc had very little value in 2014 as compared to 2020.

More whales 🐋 own it now and they have complex investment platforms. When everything tanked only gold hung in there dropping less then 5%. So the whales 🐳 included shifting btc as part of defending their piles of wealth.

If I were a whale 🐋 I would set my wealth up by judging what I think will go down due to this world wide pandemic.

Airlines
Boeing
Movies 🎥
mid to higher priced restaurants

all above  look to be losers in this new world  🌎

cryptocoins can be mined maybe good.

respirator builders very good.
ppe builders very good.

gold okay to good

platinum bad
palladium bad
oil bad

I am merely guessing above.

less cars 🚙 due to quarantine
less oil burned  due quarantine

less need for platinum due to less cars 🚘
less need for palladium due to less cars 🚗

So if you are loaded with a bad hold you will push to sell off.

this disease is everywhere. so lots are going to be affected.

I think I paid $399 NEW for my Sapphire reference model Vega 56 a couple years back.
$180 seems reasonable.

I have 2 sapphire pulse two fan.

I have 2 msi air boost blower style.

free shipping to usa.

180 for any 1
350 for any 2
510 for any 3
650 for all   4

I would consider any reasonable offer for them.

which means a bit lower then above works.

Sold the 2 pluse/

Still have 2 msi blower style

Basically I can mine at a loss of 100 a month for years.
I would run a s17 pro till it broke.
then unbox another s17 pro till it broke.

Us miners would be like the Cubans were with the 1950s american cars 🚙.

We are about +5% diff due about april 7-9

https://diff.cryptothis.com/

price around 6300

Maybe we drift sideways rest of this jump

At +5%  we would need 3 jumps to reach all time diff high again.

½ ing due may https://www.bitcoinsensus.com/bitcoin-halving-countdown/

from May 8 to May 14
