1461  Economy / Reputation / Re: Yobit/Cryptotalk signature campaign participants on: September 29, 2019, 06:11:48 AM
I've already nuked 25 of these guys and will continue looking at more users all through tonight. I'm sure by the end of the night i'll have 50-100 accounts banned. I have been sending a warning to a few(4) who joined but have only done a few posts so far(burstposted the few they've done) and am giving these types the benefit of doubt. All the users that joined and spammed 20 posts will not be given a warning.

I am also noticing accounts that just woke up. Not a ton so far 10 range but not sure if I should auto nuke those guys or give them a chance? Technically they haven't done anything wrong and I don't know if they're bought accounts, hacked accounts, or what.

If you been fond of sports and cricket, there is a term called "Benefit of the doubt". This means that When the Umpire is not sure whether he is out or not, so he gives the decision in the benefit of the player.
I am sure those woke up accounts may produce spam but maybe give this privilege of ""Benefit of the doubt" and see what they produce. Wink
1462  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should I leave the Yobit signature campaign? on: September 28, 2019, 09:29:31 AM
~snip~

I don't really know what to do.
I would appreciate all the honest, serious opinions.

~snip~
Why are you hesitating? If you are not comfortable with promoting it then leave it.

I don't see any point to create a topic and continue discussing about it which are already has discussed in some other topics including in the Meta section and Service section. If I am not wrong then there is already another topic in the Reputation section too.

You want my suggestion?
1. Remove the signature,
2. Decide what do you want to do first

If you are not comfortable to wear it. Move on.
If you see no problem then wear it and do the things you do in the forum

Cheers :-D

I will just add my two cents here which may further help OP and others to decide how to go about it.

1- Yobit exchange contains a lot of pump dump shit coins but you will never find yobit holding your payments or withdrawals issues. So it is not a scam in a way.

2- Even if Yobit is semi-scam exchange, you people are not promoting Yobit. Are you ?  You are promoting a cryptotalk forum and there is no harm in it.
(It has not been proven yet that the forum belongs to Yobit)

3- As long as you do not spam or violates the rules, no one will tag you. But keep in mind that this campaign is monitored by a very talented manager, so you can't live long if your intent is to spam.
1463  Other / Meta / Re: [Beware]Bitcointalk PHISHING attempt by E-Mail on: September 28, 2019, 08:48:58 AM
I received the following email:

By no means, it looks like an official mail from the forum. Even the link is a fake one too.
It redirects to a clone of the forum. The phishing site as I received it is: (DON'T VISIT)
Code:
http://www.martynparry.com.au/index/?topic=5169902.0&u=apoorvlathey

It is not sure who might be behind this scam.

Most probably the scammers are using hacked email list to send out these emails because my account once got hacked in the past. Not aware if anyone else received the mail or not.

/Edit:

Another case of sharing this phishing site, this time via personal message:

Make sure you don't click PM links coming from naufalbashar scammer.
He's using special character г which looks like r

He's PMing people requesting clicking on a phishing website to "reply to him"

Phishing website is currently hosted on www. martynparry. com.au/index/?topic=3243635.0 (DO NOT GO THERE OR LOGIN WITH YOUR BITCOINTALK ACCOUNT, IT'S A PHISHING WEBSITE!!!)

I have already reported him to bitcointalk staff and to website admins as well (looks like legit website has been hacked and added fake phishing forum)

Email PHISHING  is very common these days and one should always check from where the email come from, specially the domain part of the sender address.
Also i will recommend everyone to take any good Phishing online course. One example is https://www.cybrary.it/course/phishing/ from where you can get one and a half hour of training and get a certificate too.

Disclaimer: I have no interest in this site, i learnt from there so i am recommending it to others.
1464  Economy / Reputation / Re: Yobit/Cryptotalk signature campaign participants on: September 28, 2019, 08:00:45 AM

A lot of companies are starting their own boards. Stake has done it. Some even do their own signature campaigns like Stake and I think even Ver tried doing it on his. It's a good marketing tool and you cab control the dialogue as you see fit (if they wish). It's also a potential huge money maker if the site gains some traction and if it does other sites will start advertising there and maybe even their own sig campaign economy will boom. One thing for sure is if this forum ever bans campaigns there will be at least one other forum that tries to capitalise that and the traffic/sig campaigners will be looking for somewhere else and that will surely be lucrative for the operators if it every happens.

So you mean that cryptotalk will last that long and even prosper to take over the signature campaigns from here to there ?
I do not think so as i have seen in the past the new forums comes with a bang and also disappears in no time.  icoforums was one example of that.

If you need to sustain in the market and grab a market share, you need to start slowly and also the advertisement funds need to be utilized properly and not all at once.  Cheesy
1465  Economy / Reputation / Re: Yobit/Cryptotalk signature campaign participants on: September 28, 2019, 05:33:55 AM
As the campaign is managing by Yahoo, I think he will take care of it. Spammer/Shit poster won't get a chance from him! I am sure you will see a lot of "woke up" accounts in Cointalk/Yobit signature campaign. But Yahoo will remove them as well!

You do not need to be worry about it as Yahoo will manage this campaign well and only good posters will remain in the campaign.
The thing which take my attention is who is the owner of crypto talk forums ? Is the the Yobit themselves because they are spending a good lots of funds to spreading this crypto talk forum advertisements here.
1466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 27, 2019, 02:16:25 PM
Terrorist may not attack Srilanka but there's rain to attack the match, toss being delayed due to rain. That sucks, after 10 years, Pakistanis were going to take the taste of playing in home, so does visitors but rain has problem with that.
Let's see who win at the end, Srilanka or Pakistan or rain?

Rain did win in the end. We have seen rain effecting matches in England and now in Pakistan too.
This will be very sad for the local crowd as they were looking to watch the firs International match after a long period of time. Even the players would be frustrated on not being able to play today.

You guys should work on clearing up your negative trust issues before launching any kind of promotions, otherwise it's likely a waste of money for your site.

Why wouldn't your 1st priority be to run an honest business and gain players in an honest way?

They won't or can't clear up their negative rating because their first priority is not to run an honest business but their intent is to scam some quick money.

Stay Away, Stay Safe !!!
1468  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | The Most Popular Bitcoin Casino | V2 & New games out now! 👽 on: September 26, 2019, 08:16:35 AM
I never saw this really huge amount place in one bet, usually big players will play max 1 btc per bet even though they have 10 btc or more bankroll. Now I underatand why stake is more than just a gambling site. Big player or small players just gather here to make some fortune
These are whales basically. I guess you have never been to Las Vegas. The amounts wagered in Stake are small when compared to what whales wager in the Las Vegas casinos just like any popular casino out there.

They must be really big whales man, otherwise there are not idiots who barely have 10 bitcoin total and then just bet it all in just for one bet (or maybe there is I don't know but that would be really silly to do)
Wrong. This is a smart bet and they call this yolo gambling where they wager their entire bankroll at once in order to win a big one and leave. Wagering small amounts might help psychologically, but the house will beat you in the long term which is why this short-term method is very popular.

Yes, it can make or break your fortune. Also its too big a risk.
But these are the people who actually won big in gambling.

You can check all about Affiliation here: https://stake.com/affiliate/campaigns
From Campaigns, Analytics, Referred Users and Available Funds.

Commission Rate is 10% by default (10% of what your referrals wager):
Being a Stake affiliate means you will earn money on amount wagered - which unlike traditional affiliate programs, includes money that is both won and lost.

I'm sorry, but I can't believe this is true. I mean, I think you are mistaken about the commission.

If it were so, one could refer a friend, this friend could wager 0.1 BTC 100 times with 98% win chance, losing 3 times max along the way (-0.3 BTC). And then what? For 10 BTC wagered those guys will receive 1 BTC? It simply can't be so.

In theory, this should be true as stated in their website 10 percent wagering profit. Can anyone confirm who is  getting this much free money from his referrals ?
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big news for BTC exposure and adoption! on: September 26, 2019, 04:51:40 AM
Great news for spreading info about BTC!

https://cointelegraph.com/news/premier-leagues-watford-fc-puts-bitcoin-logo-on-kit-accepts-btc

Now when the logo will be shown, more and more people will know about it.

No doubt it should create a good impact on bitcoin adaption but currently it is not happening. You know that bakkt was one of the major event for the bitcoin and right at the moment the bitcoin started to dump instead of moving up. Nothing is certain in the bitcoin and crypto world.
1470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 26, 2019, 04:32:23 AM
Also they have only one big player in the team who is Rashid khan. If you remove him out of the team, the team is just ordinary which have no chance to win even against small teams. They should make themselves better before thinking of playing more series with better teams. Think of the Srilanka team in 1996 which had so many good players that they even won the world cup.

I can't agree with your views. They are not overly dependent on Rashid Khan. His performance during the recently concluded tri series in Bangladesh was brilliant, but that doesn't mean that the other players didn't played well. Afghanistan is a well balanced team and especially in the spin department they have plenty of options. Mujeeb Ur Rahman Zadran is just 18 years old, but he has emerged as a world class spinner capable of troubling the best batsmen in the world.

The only department where they seems to be struggling is with the middle order and lower middle order batting. In many of the matches, their openers (Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz) were able to give them good starts, but the middle order collapsed and in the end they lost the matches due to it. This is an area where they need reinforcement.

But just check the age of their star players. Don't forget that Rashid is just 21 years old. Most of the team is composed of teenagers and those in their early 20s. They have a very bright future ahead.

There has been some ban on the Afghanistan team by  a terrorists group named "Taliban". Once they lifted the ban, their national team was formed in 2001. They got their test status in June 2017. The team only became famous in the recent world cup and mainly because of the performance of Rashid Khan. Afghanistan cricket journey is very new and they have talent to become one of the best team as the time progresses.

Afg : 55%  - Ban : 45%

Need little change @JSRAW
Afg : 80%  - Ban : 20% The weather depend.

I think that Afghanistan had more chances of winning the match if we had the actual match. In some way rain is good for Bangladesh that they share the cup.

How do you think that it was good for Bangladesh? We have lost one match so far in this series, Afghan lost 2 matches. Afghan had the chance to win, but you know it's not more than Bangladesh.

Not so difficult to think that Afghanistan was favorite.
See the couple of odds stated above and both favors towards Afghanistan win.
1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 24, 2019, 03:52:41 PM
Is there any reserve day for final?
I don't think so, even if it has, how will they allow us to enter stadium, our ticket has been taken(can't remember the exact word at the moment, separate? cut?) lol. How will we watch the match?
Still no improvement here, chance is it will be raining here for a long time. It's looking like snow fall, by the way.

I was looking forward to enjoy a good final on TV but the rain shattered our dreams.
I think that Afghanistan had more chances of winning the match if we had the actual match. In some way rain is good for Bangladesh that they share the cup.

1474  Other / Meta / Re: The end of an era for me: Leaving Signature Campaign on: September 23, 2019, 06:38:51 PM
This probably isn't anything too interesting for other people, but it is for me.
I'm leaving my signature campaign and will not join any other ones for some time.

Mind you, I've been in a signature campaign constantly since 2014, so it's a pretty big step for me to just walk away from them.

I just don't want to deal with the hassle anymore, you know, having to post X amount of times per week...
Now, I doubt I will be any less active, but now I can purely post for fun without actually having to post.

The campaigns I've been in, were always great, never had any issues with the campaign managers, but after a while the obligation to post starts to wear on you.
I've probably spend some time responding to topics I wasn't really interested in, so it's great that I don't have to do that anymore...

I just thought this deserved to be put in a topic, hehe, I could almost shed a tear because being in a signature campaign was part of my life for so long.
Anyway, this might inspire others to take a break from signature campaigns and just enjoy Bitcointalk for what it is, without expecting payment for it Smiley

I'll probably have way more time to spend on my Steemit blog now and to participate with interesting projects here on Bitcointalk.
Had my first Bitcointalk meetup the other week, plus I'm participating in a very cool project, so I doubt that I'll spend any less time on here.

See y'all around and this time you can be 100% sure that whatever I say is because I mean it, instead of upping my post count. (Really, you can never be 100% sure when someone's in a signature campaign, no offence)

This is something out of this world. I mean i hardly see any person who is in good campaigns since many years and he leave by himself saying that he cannot post forcefully just to meet the campaign requirements.
This is like a great player in the sports like football, who is in good form but retires himself early because he thinks he cannot give full dedication towards his performance.
1475  Other / Meta / Re: Yeah! I am out of sMerits as usual: Merit source application @theymos on: September 22, 2019, 04:00:59 PM
Bump again @theymos :-)
Current status: 0 sMerits

So when will you become smerit source ?
Theymos might have seen your application but why he is not approving you as a merit source ? Maybe you missing some requirements here   Huh
1476  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 9 days 90 merits giveaway... Have high quality? Take them. on: September 22, 2019, 03:54:05 PM
So, I'm all done with my merits distribution to the best people in terms of quality, and I'm now making a roadmap for myself to gain the same number of merits in the next 90 days where I will be working for at least 2 or more merits per day by making extremely high quality posts. Let me see if I could get the pleasure of serving this community by providing more merits to great posts once again. Till then, signing off from the desk of sending sMerits and now taking the seat of receiving them from those who believe that my quality qualifies at their standards. Tightening seat belts, fastening the spaceship by accelerating, GET, SET, GO!!!

To those who received 2 or more merits from me, I urge you to serve your responsibility by spreading that 1 sMerit earned per every 2 merits sent by me to you. Give that 1 sMerit to the best post, you decide. Don't hoard them forever, just find someone who has that quality and deserves them, share it with them.

Although i did not apply for any merits here but i really appreciate the good work you are doing to the community and i wish good luck to you in collecting the merits from your posts for next 90 days. I think you can apply for a merit source as this way you will get more smerits to distribute among the community.

It was surprising to see the overhyped Indian batsmen struggling against inexperienced bowlers such as Bjorn Fortuin and Beuran Hendricks.

That's a beauty of T-20 format. anything can happen in the shorter format. little bit help from pitch and pretty much game over for Batsmen, its true for all Indian, Australian, England etc.

I just tuned in and surprised to see the score. What happened to Indian batsmen today ?  Except Dhawan who scored 36, none of the batsmen clicked. Was there some movement in the pitch ?
If India loses today, this will be a big upset.
1478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 22, 2019, 10:46:45 AM
About 3 and half hours left to start India vs South Africa 's 3rd T20 match. Where India will fight by their best team with South Africa. What do you think about the match? Can South Africa defeat India?

Keep in mind that Previously 1st match was abandoned without a ball bowled and the second match won India  by 7 wickets.

Current Indian team is very strong and the South Africa does not match their class. You will be lucky if you can see a close match between the two teams.
I am looking for another one sided match today with an easy Indian win.
1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does Martingale strategy increase your chance of winning? on: September 22, 2019, 10:37:31 AM
well , Martingle.
first time i using that on primedice a few years ago.
and after it , i using that on another dice site , also on blackjack game.
and as long I use it.
it not incrasing ur chance of winning, it just give u a constant profit if u using that strategy constanly.

Are you always winning from this ? I feat that Martingale strategy is like chasing the losses, and if we do not win in between, we may lose our entire balance in this process. The Martingale strategy become really tense if we have continuous losses and we keep on increasing the amount on every bet. I do not know about others but i feel it's really scary sometimes.
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 21, 2019, 06:08:13 PM
The 7th wicket partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Mosaddek Hossain rescued Bangladesh. Afghanistan was so close to victory, but as usual they let off the pressure at a crucial situation. The turning point was the 18th over, in which Rashid Khan conceded 18 runs. That changed the course if the match, as before the start of that over Bangladesh needed 27 runs from 3 overs.

If you closely analysis the match, it is Afghanistan who dominated in batting and bowling first and then lost their way.
They started well with the bat but did not bat the last 10 overs well and resulted in giving a small total to the Bangladesh. Again the Afghanistan bowled well in the beginning but could not break the middle lower order batsmen partnerships and hence lost the match.
