Great way to start my "day off". To bad my router was down the last 4 hours while sleeping. Hope I didn't lose to much hash. It will be hot today, so we'll see what I can leave powered on. Think I'm going to change my unit spacing around some. Got to get on my removal upgrade going .. .

@CG, I though you had some good hash here?
1462  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain coming to Texas. on: July 24, 2018, 04:58:13 PM
Mining contracts from energy waste. Lots of fossil fuel waste to profit off of. Only speculation.

I've been running at 35% for the past few hours and my temps are 49, 49, 50.

My main problem is card #1 has only run at 6-7 KSols all day regardless of performance setting or overclocking (the other two cards run at a decent 16-17 KSols). I'm thinking I've got a dud card. Sad

I'd contact inno and start troubleshooting if you can spare the down time, but get the ticket in asap.

Thanks for the suggestion, minefarmbuy. Inno support told me that one hashboard is bad and I need to send it back to get a new one. Thankfully it doesn't look like they want the whole machine - just that one board. It'll be tough to give up even the 7 KSols it's doing while waiting for a 17 KSol replacement, but it'll probably be worth it so long as they can turn something around to me within a month or so. We'll see.

Nice, quicker response than anticipated. Hopefully their turn time is quick than that and your back to speed in within a couple weeks before more units power up.

Lots of price drops from Bitamin, web is updated for card buyers. Always request a quote for coin. International buyers submit a contact form regardless of payment please.

ZCL is best bet for equihash for the last week. Then ZEN and ZEC. haven't looked at the asic friendly list though so not sure what the Z9 can hash and cant.

Just a reminder that the Canaan 841 MOQ is 40 units. Join our group batch buys while prices are low.

Well played.

Also their shipping fees are atrocious.

Overclocking asics isn't the best idea on a good day. These are nothing like GPUs. I hope some of the less experienced miners are careful with $9k equipment.

Wish Inno would send us units to experiment on, so real buyers can protect their investments with at least some documentation. Nothing like seeing an aisc shoot flames at 200+CFMs, unless of course it's in the middle of you farm not a fireproofed room.

@philipma did you really go to order the T2 thinking it was the turbo? I hope you were joking. Wink

Most of our sales are still the mini as there is only speculation on the "full" Z9. Buyers know what the z9 mini can and cant do as well the next batch is slated to ship sooner than the Z9.

Z9 is a good buy but the Z9mini is a safer choice when looking at these two models by bitmain.

I am starting to second guess my choice to not buy more mini's.  I was worried about the forks, and in the back of my mind I think Bitmain is about to release new sha256 and scrypt miners.  So I thought I should hold onto some cash in case that happened.  But I thought for sure Bitmain would be dropping new miners on us by now since all their coupons are expired.

There will be asic friendly coins to mine with these. Look at the X11 algo, and cryptonight. you just might not be able to mine the coin you would have preferred or bought the unit for with future forks. If you bought the z9 "full" you'll be fine, bitmain will at minimum deliver their base spec, just with the mini we know how much we might be able to OC.
1473  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What has happened to bitmain having the most efficient gear? on: July 23, 2018, 11:39:00 PM
Predators stalk their prey.

Bitmain is cautious to release altcoin asics after the A3 fumble. The E3 went well an is still cost friendly if you're having to build a full rack ground up for ethash, the e3 will save you ROI but not upgradable. They released these at $800 out the gate imagine if you bought then.

s9i's are more efficient than s9's and both versions compete well with all other btc asics.

If you're a Bitmain fan, you'll be waiting till late Q3/early Q4 I imagine along with Canaan enthusiasts for new gear.

Then it's not about when the release comes but ROI at purchase or market trends. We've been speculating for a while Bitmain is holding till a strong bull to reap high revenue with high demand.

Is the 2350 cfm a calculation factoring the length of the ducting? The one on the quick price out is 2.8k cfm. So I should move to 3k+ for sure from you recommendation?

Reason for one hole is this is our garage, need to keep it aesthetically in tack more so than what I would once I get to the point of moving to find cheaper power.

Well not so much an announcement  but a sneak preview. 18th at sub 1400w is intriguing though.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: July 23, 2018, 01:29:09 PM
We reached out for a testing unit. Hopefully we'll get a response and post some results for the Z9.

Reach out to whom? Bitmain will never give you a "testing" unit. The Z9 ASIC has been out there for a month now and people have already posted results and reviews. Sorry to say but what you are trying to accomplish is unlikely.

To their "global marketing manager' Nathaniel, nice guy but very direct.

The mini has been out, not their "new" z9, if there is a comprehensive testing review on this unit maybe a link would be a great asset to the community. Five pages through google search I haven't seen one though, just speculation like this thread.

Bitmain will send marketing units out on new releases but understandably you have to have a very large audience.

Please read through this thread and do the necessary research.

You should heed your own advice but I'll pass this solid piece of information along here. Thanks.
