1461  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If war starting soon where is the safest locations on: December 24, 2022, 10:59:02 AM
Any nations and country has their own problem, if the country has low chance if war will happen, but the country could suffer other problem like lack of technology, lack of internet, poor, high natural disasters etc. This mean there's no country is safe at all.

1465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TRUTH WILL ALWAYS SURFACE on: December 24, 2022, 10:49:57 AM
Although BTC is the best, but unfortunately many people are still leave their coins on centralized exchange. They need to hold it on their own non custodial wallet to prevent from loss due to vulnerability of centralized exchange.
1466  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How do I become a Campaign Manager? on: December 23, 2022, 01:30:21 PM
Judging from your post history, I see you're not qualify to become a good campaign manager since you're spamming by creating copy paste thread without add any opinion or perspective, more importantly the discussions are actually pointless since it's about shitcoins [1]

1467  Other / Meta / Re: Avatar for another membership? on: December 23, 2022, 08:30:11 AM
Only avatar is good to represent a company brand. They have bitcoins so why they are not allowed to use their bitcoins ?
Nah, the downside there's will be a spammer will spamming in order to give their brands visibility in this forum. Copper membership signature isn't eye catching and it will not attract users to click their signatures, but in avatar there's no restrictions and they will create an eye catching avatar.

I don't think it's needed, if they're serious and not a scammer, those project representative accounts will earn 100 merit sooner or later like Bestchange.

Also there's a signature campaign that you can join by avatar space, this would increase spammer to join a campaign.
1468  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum desktop wallet question. on: December 23, 2022, 03:40:45 AM
You need to turn off memorize keywords/autofill on your browser.

If you plan to hold bigger amount and long term on Desktop that always connected to internet, it's really a wrong choice. Although Electrum is really safe due to open source and non custodial, but you need to know that anything connected with internet connection are vulnerable to getting exposed. Especially if you're using bad browser e.g. Chrome which is spying your activity, there's a chance Chrome know your seed phrase.

If you plan to use Electrum as cold storage, this is the steps:
1. Verify the signature, you need to know if your wallet is legit or fake
2. Transfer the sotfware to the other device that never connected to internet.
3. Use the other insecure device (connected to internet) for watch only wallet.

If you don't have enough knowledge about wallet and how to set up it, it's better to bought a hardware wallet e.g. Trezor, Ledger.

I read the rules need to have physical Bitcoin, what if I don't have any physical Bitcoin and want to join? it's allowed or not?

And does the prize is only the physical Bitcoin? without any Bitcoin (fund) inside the physical Bitcoin?

Thanks

However, maybe indeed a topic like this was needed in B&H too after all...
This is the reason why I create this topic because it will help people who doesn't know how to use Bisq will know the steps about it. The main process is only 4 steps which I think it's not hard for people to move using Bisq as their daily exchanges.
1471  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Poll] What are the safest platforms? on: December 22, 2022, 02:40:52 PM
Bisq, because there's no single authority who will control everyone funds, Bisq wallet is non custodial but you need to transfer to your hardware wallet to make it more safer.

Those centralized exchanges on the poll are very vulnerable against hacker since hacker is more clever and will trying to find a way to get huge money from centralized exchanges.
1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two types of predictors in bitcoin market. on: December 22, 2022, 02:29:30 PM
You didn't to go deeper, just take a simple answer between Satoshi and banks or governments. Everyday banks and governments mostly hate against Bitcoin because it will ruin their mission to control the whole world including each person activity, money and their live. This will make governments know what they're doing and know what they're want, let's say you're really need new device, then a random sales can knock your door and offer the device you want with a discount, of course they will make easy profit by this!

Banks and governments are really dangerous entity, everyone need to be worried when the governments are using technology to track everyone else.

GEAR, or Gearbox Protocol, is a modular leverage protocol that promotes capital efficiency in DeFi. It gives users access to liquidity pools from a variety of chains.

How Does It Function?
As DeFi advances, we are noticing a lack of composability, which is causing a significant impediment to capital efficiency. Furthermore, the majority of protocols are incompatible with one another. That is, users cannot simply move their assets between chains and dApps. This eventually leads to an oversupply of assets and unused capital. So, how does Gearbox enter the picture?

Gearbox Protocol enables users to interact with various DeFi services in a modular fashion. Credit accounts are included in the protocol as collateral for a variety of leveraged activities. Users can now easily execute transactions. It functions similarly to margin trading on centralized exchanges, but allows users to trade across platforms.

As a user, you can select either of the two features they offer at any time. For starters, users can act as passive liquidity providers. It is low risk and has a passive yield. Users are not required to manage their positions actively. Furthermore, they only need to provide capital to earn passive APY with no risk of loss. It will also have no capital lockup or withdrawal fees.

Users can also go in a more aggressive direction. It is appropriate for leverage users who are actively degenerating in top farms. It is also recommended that you are well-versed in risk management and participate in DeFi more actively. Simply open a credit account, get up to 10x leverage, and use it across multiple DeFi. Finally, using the Gearbox Protocol, you can select the highest yield pool with the safest position.

How to Purchase Gearbox Protocol (GEAR)
Follow these steps to purchase Gearbox Protocol (GEAR) on MEXC:

1.Log in to your MEXC account and then select [Trade]. Select [Spot].
2.To see the available trading pairs, type "GEAR" into the search bar. As an example, consider GEAR/USDT.
3.Scroll all the way down to the [Spot] box. Enter the quantity of GEAR you wish to purchase. You can place a Limit order, a Market order, or a Stop-limit order. Consider the Market order. To confirm your order, click [Buy GEAR]. The purchased GEAR will be stored in your Spot Wallet.

How Does it Work

As DeFi continues to advance, we are noticing a lack of composability, causing a severe impediment to capital efficiency. Furthermore, most protocols are incompatible with each other. Meaning, users can’t simply move their assets across chains and dApps. This ultimately creates an issue of oversupply of assets and unused capital. So, how does Gearbox comes into play?

Gearbox Protocol allows users to interact with different DeFi services in a composable way. The protocol includes credit accounts that serve as collateral for many leveraged activities. Now, users can execute transactions easily. It works like margin trading for centralized exchanges but offers users the ability to trade across platforms.

As a user, you can choose between one of the two features they provide at any time. First, users can be passive liquidity providers. It has a low risk and a passive yield. Users do not need to actively manage their positions. Furthermore, they just need to provide capital and earn passive APY without impermanent loss. It will also have no lockup on your capital or withdrawal fees.

Additionally, users can choose a more aggressive direction. It is suitable for leverage users who are actively degen in top farms. It is also recommended that you are well versed in risk management and have a more active engagement in DeFi. All you have to do is open up a credit account, get up to 10x leverage and use it across multiple DeFi. Using Gearbox Protocol, you can finally choose the highest yield pool with the safest position.

1474  Other / Beginners & Help / [GUIDE] How to buy and sell Bitcoin using Bisq on: December 22, 2022, 09:41:20 AM
There's already a lot cases where centralized exchange got hacked and scam their users, recent case is FTX where it's booming in everywhere. Now it's a time for everyone to move from centralized exchange to decentralized exchange to prevent from this happen, also protect your privacy, if you want to read why privacy is very important you can visit this thread [1]. Now let's getting started how to install Bisq to withdraw your coins to your own wallet.

1. Download and install Bisq [2]
2. Set up and configure your own fiat payment.
3. Fund your Bisq wallet, at least 15% or 0.006 BTC of every trade. Of course many users especially newcomers don't have any Bitcoin, don't worry you have few way to get it. You can buy through Bitcoin ATM, you can by using P2P in your local area, or you can P2P with users in this forum [3]
4. After then you can make an offer and follow the next steps to complete it, simple! [4]

Actually the steps are quite simple, but many users are complaining if using Bisq is really hard like creating a well designed website from scratch without a programmer. Using Bisq you'll get many advantages over centralized exchange:

1. You don't need to create an account.
2. You have high privacy since it's connecting through Tor network.
3. Your funds will not get freezed.
4. You don't need to wait for few day, week, month(s) for waiting your KYC successfully verified and the most important thing,
5. You'll prevent any kind problem happen in the future if the exchange updated their terms of services (e.g. Russian citizens was able to use CEX, but after Russian get sanctioned all of Russian citizens aren't allowed to use CEX and any other services).

First time I read "start $5" and "it's impossible to lose money" I have known it's really classic ponzi scheme  Cheesy

Here are some indicators of Ponzi scheme
Red Flags and Indicators
  • High investment returns. Ponzi schemes typically have a high value of returns, 1% a day, 30% a month or more is ridiculous.
  • Lack of transparency. The names, contacts, office address of the operators should be publicly shown to run a legitimate business. Which most ponzi doesn't provide their valid address and even names of the operators.
  • Consistent Returns. Regardless of the market conditions which will rise and fall yet the investment continues to generate regular, positive returns.
  • Advertised as "risk-free". Ponzi advertised their shaddy service as such as "Invest to us, we are risk-free and are guaranteed to make money for you." in which  All investments come with a different degree of risks.
  • Increasing minimum investment. Ponzi starts off with a very small amount of capital and later grows rapidly for their new investors. Ponzi needs to make their capital grow which is higher than their minimum withdrawal amount so they can pay their old investors by the funds  of the new investors.
  • High rates of commision. Users are highly motivated to promote their referral links due to high commision which is very lucrative.
  • Difficulty receiving payments. If you do not receive a payment or have difficulty to cash out your investment then its a high chance that the operators doesn't have enough new investors to fund their old investor and a high chance to run your investment and get scammed.

See rules

Low value topics that do not encourage constructive discussion do not belong in Bitcoin Discussion. Threads not directly about news or developments within the Bitcoin ecosystem such as the following all now belong in Off Topic:

If i give you 10 BTC what will you do?
In 20 years, what would you like to do with your bitcoin?
If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do?
What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin?
Would it be impossible to make 14BTC by the end of the year?
if you rewarded 1btc
