Pakistan U19 team has strong enough to beat the UAE U19 team because they have some classical batsmen as in the last match we have seen a ton and some good shots by the Pakistani Batsmen which are clearly a show of the better batsmen. Here we can see another good match between the teams, whenever the UAE U19 team plays with some good bowling attack they can win the match. Because Pakistan U19 team can be beaten by the good pacers with having a good bowling attack.

I never expected that the United Arab Emirates U-19 would qualify for the semi-finals. But they managed to do that, after pushing Sri Lanka to the 3rd place in Group B. A win against Pakistan would be earth shattering, but the possibilities are low. The advantage with UAE is that effectively they are fielding a full member side (and not an associate one), since most of the players were born and brought up in countries such as India and Pakistan. Some of the players do have a bright future ahead in senior cricket, especially Aayan Afzal Khan and Tanish Suri.

There are positives to take away from this series for both the teams. For South Africa, drawing the series 1-1 against India itself is a big achievement. And remember that they were without key players such as Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada. India also sent a second string side, but despite that Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal made good contributions with the bat. And Kuldeep Yadav was just outstanding yesterday. Indian spinners took 7 wickets in total, with Ravindra Jadeja picking up two as well.

Finally its time for the PSL 2024  Smiley

The PSL Draft for 2024 is finished, and the unbelievable things happened in this Draft. First of all, as you all know, Mohammad Amir left Karachi King, and when he left it other franchises wanted him, every franchise tried to pick him but Quetta Gallidator picked him and this is a very big deal, because since when PSL started Amir was playing for Karachi Kings and he led Karachi to trophy just one time, now we see Amir playing under Sarfraz captaincy once again after 2019 World Cup, by the way, he also doesn't played any international match after that World Cup.

There was good interest from the foreign players, as a total of 485 overseas players registered for the draft. And nice to see some of the associate players getting retained (such as David Wiese from Namibia, who was retained by Lahore Qalandars). Rilee Rossouw has moved to Quetta Gladiators, and this is going to be a big boost for them. Kieron Pollard will play for Karachi Kings and Rassie van der Dussen will represent Lahore Qalandars. Tim Seifert, Dawid Malan, Noor Ahmad, Sherfane Rutherford and Reece Topley are some of the overseas players picked during yesterday's draft. So overall, it looks quite exciting with a number of star players featuring in the league next year.

1464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: December 14, 2023, 10:33:20 AM
To be fair polls are not always that good to predict what will happen, but it is also quite clear that Trump voters are a lot more fired up than Biden ones. That's the thing about politics at USA, it is not about who is a better candidate, it is about which candidate is capable of bringing more people to vote, that's how Biden won most recently.

Trump got the second highest votes in American history, more than anyone else aside from Biden the same very election, Biden got the most votes by like 15+ million, not because Biden was great, you need to be crazy to think that Biden is the best president USA ever had, absolutely not, the reason was that people hated Trump, and still do but it's been 4 years so they hate him a little less. So if Trump could get (and he could) people to go out and vote, he may win easily.

Back in 2020, Trump got 74.2 million votes and Biden got 81.3 million. The lead was like 7.1 million votes or around 4-5%. According to most polls, Trump is now leading by 2-3% votes. Back in 2020, Biden got 306 electoral vote compared to 232 for Trump. But Trump can achieve 300+ votes with a smaller lead, due to the electoral system in the United States. For example, Trump got less votes compared to Hillary in 2016, and still managed to win 304 electoral votes compared to 227 for his opponent. If he is actually leading the polls by 2-3%, then it is going to be a landslide for Trump.

In last few years, we have good development in Saudi Arab with new generation leaders are opening their economy and other things to the world which is brought many opportunities for the big names around the world to take their share and same happen in this case they invested on Cristiano Ronaldo for the better attraction of soccer fans around the world and this gamble give them good benefit now they are having huge fan base and good attraction for the fans on many different channels and other social media sites.

In the future, they are working on more improvement which will bring better results and increased quality as well which is also important for the all stakeholders for more exposure in the soccer world even we have few failures as well, but this is not ended for any party they need to look in future as well for the better results.

Well.. after Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud became the ruler of Saudi Arabia (formally he is still the crown prince, and his father Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is the king), there was a concerted effort to make Saudi Arabia a global hub for sports. A lot of investment was done not just in football, but also in other sports disciplines such as boxing, golf and cricket. But signing Cristiano Ronaldo was a master-stroke. That one decision propelled the Saudi Professional League from a little-known football league outside the country to one of the most popular leagues around the world.

Australia ends up the day at 346/5, and almost half of those runs were made by David Warner (164 from 211 balls). None of the other Australian batsmen could make a half-century, and that shows how he dominated the Pakistani batsmen. Usman Khawaja was the second highest scorer with 41, followed by 40 from Travis Head. The two debutants for Pakistan (Aamer Jamal and Khurram Shahzad) shared three wickets between them, while the more experienced bowlers went for plenty. My guess is that Australia may end with 400-450, which is still not enough to enforce follow on.

Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee will be unavailable for the third match, as they have been released from the squad to play in the domestic 4-day competition. Coetzee was in terrific form and picked up 3 wickets during the second match (Tilak Varma, Ravindra Jadeja and Arshdeep Singh). In their absence, the South African pace attack will be lead by Lizaad Williams, Nandre Burger and Andile Phehlukwayo. There is a chance that Ottniel Baartman will be drafted in to the squad. Spin attack will be lead by Tabraiz Shamsi, after his terrific spell in the first match.

The second semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy will be played today. Rajasthan is taking on Karnataka, and the match will take place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Deepak Hooda is captaining Rajasthan and they also have Khaleel Ahmed, Rahul Chahar, Deepak Chahar and Mahipal Lomror in the squad. On the other side Mayank Agarwal is captaining Karnataka, and have Devdutt Padikkal, Manish Pandey and Vijaykumar Vyshak in the squad. Winner will take on Haryana in the final. Haryana made history yesterday, by defeating Tamil Nadu.

Today's match will be played at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. There will be adequate support for the pace bowlers and the Indian selectors need to be careful here. They need to drop Arshdeep Singh, as he is out of form. Mohammed Siraj leaked a lot of runs in the second match, but then he is the only experienced pacer in the squad. In batting, they can promote Rinku Singh to 4th position, as he is under-utilized in his current rank. At this point, it seems to me that South Africa has the upper hand for today's match.

India is the best country for the red-ball format with England and Australia are also having profit, but this all is just going between these three and if India is touring in countries like South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies then they are also having profit otherwise these all are having nothing to do with this format.

India vs South Africa and India vs New Zealand series will be competitive as long as India is the touring side. Can't say the same about West Indies. Anyway, irrespective of whether it is generating adequate interest or not, test cricket should be cut down to size. In today's fast moving world, no one has enough time to watch a game that spans over 40 hours. It is a massive waste of productivity. None of the other sports come anywhere near. Even if a football match ends up in penalty shootout, it seldom stretches for more than 2.5 hours.
1471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 14, 2023, 07:06:14 AM
There is no doubt we are going to have good changes in this game just because of Olympics and Asian games which have their own system and all countries need to follow this, but it's starting from Oman it's perfect news for the cricketing fans because if they will jump in this game with their native players then surely we will have good improvement in quality and performance of many countries, and they will also give this a try which is going to bring positive results for this game.

Currently, we have African region which is going mostly with their native players and now this change will surely bring change into this region as well and ASEAN is also having good chance which will bring more countries and strong control for the Asian region countries to adopt and having good revenue from this game as well.

African nations have made rapid progress in both men's and women's game over the years and I agree with your statement that almost all of the teams in this region are dominated by native players. In Asia, it is mixed. There are teams like UAE and Oman, which are comprised primarily of expat players, but at the same time teams like Malaysia and Nepal are 100% native. Another problematic area is Europe, where most of the teams are 100% expat. Same can be said about the North/South American teams as well. And in Oceania, it is almost all native.
1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 14, 2023, 06:55:14 AM
This is the ornament of cricket because in Tests one batsman plays defensive cricket while the other plays an aggressive innings. David Warner played aggressive innings till Usman Khawaja got out and his strike rate remained above 100 but after Usman Khawaja got out David Warner started playing defensive innings. However, because Australia's Perth stadium is basically a batting support wicket, the run score will be much higher. However, after Sheen Afridi picked up the wicket of Usman Khawaja, Australia's scorecard slowed down the run rate somewhat. But at the end of today's game, it is very likely that Australia's innings will reach 350+.

They are 204/2 with Warner batting at 108. Just now the debutant Shahzad dropped one of the easiest chances he will ever get from Warner. Agha Salman would have got a much deserved wicket. Fielding from Pakistan has been poor so far. They dropped multiple catches, and then conceded several runs from misfields as well. And given how Agha Salman has bowled till now, the pitch seems to have some support for the spinners. Unfortunately for Pakistan, they went with an all-pace attack and doesn't have any full-time spinners in their playing XI.

Every match isn't the same and the Indian team is phenomenal at bouncing back from losses which is why I am expecting them to win the final T-20.

Well.. a decade or so back.. there was a consensus that India won't win any matches in SENA nations, if Virat Kohli is not playing. In such matches, he used to be the backbone for India. Times have changed, and we saw how Rinku and Surya took on the South African bowlers in the second T20I. But all that said, I have to say that South Africa has the upper hand. They have the momentum, and despite the absence of many of their star players, they destroyed Indians during second match. Also, Bavuma is absent which actually hurts India's chances.  Grin

LOL.. all of a sudden David Warner has gone for the defense mode. And the debutant Khurram Shahzad is actually bowling really well, getting some late movement. He is looking much better when compared to the experienced Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Edit: Finally Shaheen Shah Afridi gets a wicket, as he nabs Usman Khawaja. Australia are at 126/1 and now Marnus Labuschagne has come out to join Warner at the crease. From what I am seeing, both Shahzad and Shaheen are getting a lot of late movement from this pitch. And it will be interesting once the Australians come out to bowl.

Just noticed that United Arab Emirates has qualified for the semi-finals of the Asian Cricket Council Under-19s Asia Cup. They will be playing against Pakistan Under-19s tomorrow at ICC Academy in Dubai. Bangladesh will take on India in the second semi-finals. This tournament will be more like a warmup for these teams. The 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup is scheduled to start by 19th January (next month), and all the full member nations from Asia have qualified for this event (plus Nepal from the regional qualifier).

For the Pakistani team, this is going to feel like a long 3 match series, similar to their last tour.

Last time as well they came with an inexperienced bowling attack and some big brains in management thought that it would be a good idea to repeat the same masterstroke. Warner the home track bully will cement his place for another season.

LOL.. Pakistani selectors at their best. But then, the experienced Shaheen Shah Afridi was also bowling like shit today. Fortunately for them, Usman Khawaja was at the other end, and he was batting extremely slowly. If someone like Travis Head was with David Warner, then Australia would have raced to 200/0 by now. Maybe it is time for Pakistan to try some of their spin bowlers.. oh wait.. Pakistan hasn't selected any spinners for this match except part-timer Agha Salman. Another whitewash looks likely for me.

I rarely seen people talked about MLS in other thread. I saw its thread but people are not so active like this.

Well.. that is my point. Lionel Messi may be a legend, but it is Cristiano Ronaldo who attracts the global fans. Personally I have never followed any of the matches in MLS and I haven't even visited the MLS thread here in Gambling sub-forum. However, I am a regular visitor to this thread ever since CR7 joined the Saudi Professional League (back in January 2023). And it's not just me. SPL became one of the top football leagues in the world (in terms of popularity) immediately after CR7 joined. But Messi was unable to do anything like that with the Major League Soccer (MLS).

Quite surprised to see Khurram Shahzad opening the bowling for Pakistan. Apart from Shaheen Shah Afridi, they have selected a very inexperienced bowling squad for this test. Shahzad is playing in his first ever test match (also the first match for Pakistan national team). Recently he performed really well in Pakistan domestic cricket, while playing for Faisalabad. Aamer Jamal is also playing his first test match, and he represents Lahore Whites in domestic cricket. BTW, pitch at Perth Stadium seems to be batsmen friendly and Australia may end up with 400-500 on board by day 2.

@Sithara007 not surprised here that they don’t want to distribute more ICC money and sad thing is this information is in public domain yet ICC will chose to do nothing about it. Also I wonder will other countries send their star player’s or they’ll prepare a B squad of player’s and send them because in a already jam packed schedule I can’t see big player’s participation in Olympics.

It is a big scam that is going on. Take Czech Republic for example. There is a small Indian-Pakistani community that is mostly comprised of medical students and other temporary visitors. They have formed 5-6 cricket clubs that play against each other on weekends. A lot often, these matches exist only on paper. This is the Czech Republic national league. The cricket board, as well as the national team players all come from this community and there is not a single citizen who is part of this system. ICC provides around $100,000 per year in funds and the board divides this amount between the 100-120 club players, without spending any of that in development. And this is not an isolated case. In many of the European countries, this scam is going on.

Well, it's been 2-3 decades so let's not go there.  Grin

But overall, no one takes this bilateral very seriously. It's all fun and giggles for the majority of fans, especially the Australian fans. Anyway, atm Kiwis are in some transition phase and they will lose at least some senior players soon. These 2 boards also take ages to schedule this series so we can forget about Kiwis winning any series against Australia anytime soon.

Well.. talking about the possibility of New Zealand winning a series against Australia... it never happened when New Zealand was in peak form (2018-2021). Now it is much more unlikely given the fact that they are in poor shape. One thing that continues to boost New Zealand is the fresh influx of players from South Africa and India. In recent times, South African born players such as Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Dean Foxcroft and Chad Bowes have featured in the New Zealand playing XI and so has players such as Ajaz Patel, Ish Sodhi and Rachin Ravindra. They also have Mark Chapman (born in Hong Kong and is part-Chinese) as well as Colin de Grandhomme (Zimbabwe). So obviously New Zealand is being kept alive by fresh infusion from other nations.
