1461  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the effect of having plenty children to the national economy of a country on: August 01, 2023, 11:57:00 AM
It depends on the citizen, if they're not educated and don't want to get paid with minimum or low salary, it will make the national economy decline since they're rubbish for the country.
Because they are not educated, that does not mean they are rubbish to the economy. There are many unskilled work that they can do.

You should know that going to school does not necessarily mean education. There are many old people in my country that do not go to school but later make it in life and they are educated in the work they are doing without going to school.

There are countries like Nigeria and Ethiopia with people there giving birth to many children but their is no job. Many of them are educated, they go to school, they become graduates and they are doing unskilled work and many of them are unemployed.
1462  Other / Off-topic / Best mobile phone ads blocker on: August 01, 2023, 11:37:39 AM
You know how good ublock origin is? It is a good ads blocker, but only for desktop. On my phone, I have only been using the ads blocker on my browsers which are helpful, but I want to know if there is any ad blocker that is very common on phone, free and effective to block ads too.

Is there any trustworthy mobile ads blocker?

Although I like my browser ads blocker, some sites with ads do not allow me to visit their site unless I turn off my browser ads blocker. I do not think two times to leave sites like that.
1463  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: WARNING when using mobile device wallets (Android, iOS) on: August 01, 2023, 11:24:40 AM
What about Samsung keyboard? Samsung smartphones come with it. Windows Phones came with Microsoft's Word Flow keyboard app and Swiftkey belongs to MS too. While I absolutely agree with the advice that you give here, I still don't think that that would be an issue for that person.
What are you saying? When you go to app store and download a cloned one would be when you will realize that you are wrong. If you are good to know the right one, not everyone knows the right one. NotATether said you should not download third party keyboard which is the right thing to say. Or what are you expecting from him again? All phones comes with their own keyboard.

If one doesn't download malicious apps, doesn't visit unknown websites, doesn't connect to public wi-fi, doesn't root smartphone, doesn't install custom ROMs without research and doesn't give unlocked smartphone to friends or strangers, then I think you won't get any problem, especially if you don't own a lot of bitcoins.
You must be joking. If you are using a mobile phone and it is connected online, store just little amount of bitcoin on it, the rest should be on cold wallets.
1464  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy to reach 50 merit on: August 01, 2023, 08:39:40 AM
Earning merit is really hard this days , since there are lots of things they consider for post to be meritable,
There is nothing considered than good posts. For a post to get merit is not hard but it has to be useful.

To be able to share and help others, those who only need a merit to reach a certain rank, post your most merit post, other post that you think is meritable is welcome and I'll review your post , please don't get mad if you don't received merit, keep learning, and don't get frustrated on setbacks.
You are not a merit source, 25 merits should not be hard for you to send to other users. Not that you should send all at ones, just continue reading good posts and send to the posts you gain from and the ones you see useful.
1465  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vladimir Putin has forgiven $23 Billion in Dept Owed by Africa countries on: July 31, 2023, 11:21:36 PM
How is this information related to Bitcoin or Bitcoin Discussion board? Huh
Your reply is not necessary. You can see report to moderator at the lower right side of the OP and all other posts. Use the report to moderator to report any post that you think is not on the appropriate board. When a moderator sees your report, he will act on it and move the topic to the appropriate board.
1466  Other / Meta / Re: Too fast/Overloaded (503) on: July 31, 2023, 11:06:37 PM
When I was using a browser that can open many tabs that I have opened before and not close, opening the browser and opening multiple threads automatically on this forum at once will cause that. Now that I use browser that only the tab I clicked on will open, I do not get the error anymore. This is not new too. There are different threads about this question in the past.
1467  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hash Rate and Zeros on: July 31, 2023, 07:37:46 AM
With the hash rate of Bitcoin hitting 1,000 Th/s in 2013 can miners use mining hardwares other than ASIC miners?
Just computer CPU was used before. As the mining difficulty increased, CPU could no longer mine bitcoin profitable as more people started to mine bitcoin. GPU produces more hash rates and miners turned to GPU. Mining difficulty increases and the start of ASICs to mine bitcoin. Now are well built ASICs that produces more hash rates.
1468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin (DOGE) on: July 31, 2023, 07:27:49 AM
Is DOGE Coin's Rise a Sign of the Future of Cryptocurrencies, or a Fleeting Internet Meme Phenomenon?
Because of what Elon Musk is doing with it and you think it is the coin to first be considered? Bitcoin is the coin to be considered. Doge is just a meme coin (coin of no reason than to speculate its prices), although while many other coins have no utilities even as they are not meme coins.

DOGE is a memecoin. Not a bad one but still. Do you really think it can be the cause for the bright crypto future?
Doge has nothing to do with crypto bright future. Let us expect more manipulation from Elon Musk though.
1469  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post your PGP key, add an encrypted message, open for anyone. on: July 31, 2023, 06:05:30 AM
I am wondering what you are using if it's the easy one like igolder when it was active or the one that mdayonliner translated to English. Well, I would prefer to use the easy one for a certain reason (quite sick a few days and just recovered) and I haven't looked for one that I can use easily just by pasting the public key of OP and encrypt whatever message I'd like to encrypt. If you know any feel free to share but if it is not allowed by BGC then it's fine by me.
The recommended one on this forum is Kleopatra which is a desktop app.

You can use this guide to know more about it: [Eng: Tutorial] PGP Signature - Encrypt/Decrypt message - Fingerprint
1470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post your PGP key, add an encrypted message, open for anyone. on: July 30, 2023, 09:47:06 PM
You can not encrypt a message using bitcoin signed message. You need PGP key. So the game is only for PGP key. You must add current date in the secret message you have for me and no one else should be able to read it except me [that's why it is encrypted]. I will post the decrypted message however If you feel uncomfortable then add it in your encrypted message, I will not post it to honour your request.
Check your public key, probably missing a or some characters. In the link that you provided, I was able to use people's public key to encrypt message, but I was unable to use yours. Or try and encrypt a message with it to know if the public key is valid or not. If I am not right, let me know.
1471  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post your PGP key, add an encrypted message, open for anyone. on: July 30, 2023, 09:00:57 PM
You need a merit or need to have just fun?
Let us have fun.

You want both? We should sign a message with bitcoin address and you want us to also send an encrypted message by using your PGP public key? Or only the second one which is PGP?
1472  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Jason Lowery's Twitter account hacked on: July 30, 2023, 08:09:51 AM
People are careless with their Twitter account, my guess is correct that another one will happen soon as usual

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5461008.msg62600310#msg62600310

From the look of this with fake giveaway, I will know easily that it is a scam.

I am expecting another one soon.

People may later be faking it by compromising their own account.
1473  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What should P2P on centralized exchanges should be called? on: July 30, 2023, 08:01:48 AM
As much as like the idea that there's no intermediary when it comes to P2P, I don't want to be a victim of a scam or anything malicious like that because when it's a raw P2P trade, the possibility that the other party won't commit to their agreed trade gets much higher and they don't have to crafty about it unlike having a middle-man/intermediary where they need to fake some confirmation to even pull off shit like that. Also, I don't get how it's confusing, you're just using the exchange as a platform to conduct a P2P trade, it's not like they actively meddle in the trades itself.
Bitcoin is decentralized. Having your coins on centralized exchanges is the opposite of what bitcoin is. The centralized exchanges have more control and they are the middle man because you have your coins with them and they have the complete control to your coins. That is not P2P. No intermediary in P2P.

The main problem in certain local p2p transactions is the fear of being cheated by anyone claiming to be an intermediary because the possibilities of being defrauded are quite high. I've had a similar experience, even though it was in a Telegram group or channel where they claimed to be actual p2p and I was duped by them. That is why I prefer utilizing CEX p2p to avoid such scams, even though they are not completely reliable due to centralization, but they have a reputation.
I agree, but we are not talking about how trading are on centralized exchanges, we are talking about the name we should called them.

Let's rename all the abbreviations we don't like. Since this topic is in the newbies section, if we use our own invented language on the forum, the newbies will get even more confused.
P2P will remain what it is, but you always have the right to use it on which exchange. It's good to be skeptical, but it's always better to use simple things that have been invented for a long time without racking your brains over names.
Everything is simple, newbies are here to learn just like I was here to learn when I came. People that do not learn will not move forward. I will start using some words in addition to differentiate them from P2P.
1474  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: A Feature in electrum wallet on: July 30, 2023, 07:46:47 AM
I appreciate community feedback about it. Is there any way we can request such a feature from Electrum, as it's the most reliable software wallet at this moment?
Feature request are welcome in the official GitHub repository, you can post them as new issue with "Feature Request" in the title.
Link: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues

But before you do so, please consider the replies in this thread.
The developers are quite piled with work, closing and replying to unnecessary issues will add up to their workload.
There is not point in doing so because bitcoin is not stored on a wallet, it is stored on Blockchain. Also because the wallets are locally created. If I am a hacker, I can prefer not to use Electrum at all. He should just not bother himself to report what is not because it is what that can not be done.
1475  Other / Beginners & Help / What should P2P on centralized exchanges should be called? on: July 30, 2023, 04:56:16 AM
I do not like to see people using P2P for centralized exchanges. The centralized exchanges has been confusing people about it. P2P means the exchange should be without any intermediary but the exchanges are the intermediary which make them not to have P2P but another thing entirely.

P2P are:

  • exchanging bitcoin directly with another person like on this forum
  • the use of decentralized exchanges

If we want to call centralized exchange P2P, what should it be called? We need a name on this forum to be calling them. The centralized exchanges have stolen what P2P is. Even many people on this forum are calling them P2P.

What about CEP2P? It means centralized exchange P2P.
1476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON is bad coin, here is why on: July 30, 2023, 04:45:56 AM
What makes Ethereum to be better? It moves from PoW to PoS, it is centralized and becoming more centralized and influenced by its developers like Vitalik Buterin.

Everyone should know, how fraudulent TRON really is.
Avoid bad coin like TRON.
You actually did not say anything good about the reason why Tron is bad.
1477  Other / Meta / Re: how do mod get selected? do they get paid? on: July 29, 2023, 09:43:26 AM
Theymos will request for it if moderator is needed. They get paid.

who pays to mods and how much they earn?
These questions are not necessary.
1478  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: walletgeneratordotnet scam Paper wallet generation scam on: July 29, 2023, 09:15:10 AM
You can try reporting the website to "Google safe browsing": https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/
I haven't seen a result from those reports in years. Google doesn't care, and I gave up.

Quote
Maybe they will remove it from their search results if many people report it.
Reporting bad sites shouldn't be a petition that needs to be signed many times.
But this is not only about Google, the site needs to be taken down. I use other search engines just now and I even try it on tor but the same scam site is what I am seeing as first on the search engines including duckduckgo. The government were able to take down mixers but unable to taken down these scam paper wallet generator websites.

Not that I am supporting google too, google services are the places where scammers and hackers are living and successfully doing their work.
1479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Suggest Some Underrated potential altcoins for next bull run on: July 29, 2023, 09:07:49 AM
You have selected good already but you can add Dot to it.

There are other ones but which are more volatile. The one I know are Aptos, Sand, Gala, Quantum, Ethereum classic, Dash, Solana. There are many but which I will not continue to mention.

If bitcoin fall in price, these altcoins fall many times more. Know that.
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: July 29, 2023, 06:59:00 AM
What I feel is that - I can't focus on gambling because what is in my mind is worried about where I can get money to pay my loan if I lose them all.
It is because you are not an addict. If you are a gambling addict, all you will be thinking about is that if you borrow, that you will look for more always to earn from gambling and you will be able to pay back the money. But at the end, you will feel sorry for yourself if you borrow the money and after losing it. Anyone that borrow to gamble is a sign of addiction.

Why would I borrow to gamble? I can not do that, it is not possible. I can gamble but not to the extent that I should borrow money. I hardly spend 2% of my salary on gambling, not to talk of borrowing money for gambling.
