Additional Notes:

There have been many cases of hacking of prominent accounts in the crypto arena by scammers. It did not stop at hacking Jeremy Hogan's account only, so everyone should be careful and not connect his wallet to any fake airdrop or giveaway, even if it was promoted from a verified or known account. Please, guys, report Jeremy Hogan's account to be suspended so that everyone on Twitter is not at risk of this incident.

What kind of lawyer is he who doesn't know how to protect even a personal account on a social network? This event will surely help him get a few more clients, maybe someone from the team behind BtcTrash or even Faketoshi himself Smiley

Twitter account hack is now very common. I have read about many of them this year that scammers used to sell fake NFTs or used to scam people  or something like that.

If it is ripple laywer, that is bad too, but what about other ones. See the recently known one that happened not long ago about Uniswap founder. It happened four days ago or so.

https://www.crypto-news-flash.com/uniswap-founders-twitter-account-hacked-beware-of-deceptive-scam-attempt/

Probably another one is coming soon.

Since he is a lawyer he can ask or summon an investigation on how did it happen in a legal way, this is very bad for supporters of XRP he is a respected legal team of XRP, and anything he says or posts will be deemed important or valid there's likely going to be victim here like newbies who do not know how to trace or differentiate hacked account to a legit account.

There's been a lot of hacking from big personalities lately on their social media accounts people who are active on airdrops especially should always doubt first when there's something new to the post of popular personalities that they are following.

Then definitely there must be something more unclear and physhing about the twitter accounts users, this a vulnerability already and if they did not work on it ASAP it may leads to major more experience coming under this, i know twitter to be one of the most trusted social media platforms where you could feels more secured and follow people on their official handle, scammers no longer impost their target users again, now they hack completely their account which is either a vulnerability from Twitter or the users to maintain the security consciousness of their account as you've all suggested.

Lol, this is one thing these scammers know how to do very well: they use every slide opportunity at their own advantage. Who on earth, unless those with little scam idea and crypto knowledge, will ever believe that the tweet was not made by the original account owner, considering the fact that the impersonated person just recently won a case for the project that they are claiming to be? Everyone will believe the law, and the team is running the airdrops just to celebrate their win in court.

Targeting recognized accounts of high dignities is what these hackers do now, as it helps them get victims who will believe them quickly without those victims realizing that they are not dealing with the real account owner.

Twitter is a place for scammer. It is a social media and scammers like places like that. I do not think the problem is from Twitter, the problem is from the Twitter account owners that were hacked, they do not take security seriousl until it happens to them and they are hacked.

I hope that there is no user who lost any of his coins.
This is a strange scenario. If we assume that this lawyer has average knowledge, Hayden Adams has in-depth knowledge, and therefore the problem may still be with Twitter, as it is not the first incident, and I hope it will be the last.

The only solution is to teach and educate beginners about the danger of phishing links. browsers and sites such as Twitter put a warning before visiting unknown links.

just a heads up that the account is most likely still in the hands of the hacker despite the post being deleted and the website "ripplex.win" being down. the account posted another twit today and it is now for a website called "metacollection.ai", I check the registration date of the website and it was registered yesterday.

the problem with these scams remains and it is really impossible to avoid.
those users who fall victim of these scams will never seek information, nor will they have the minimum doubt this can be just a scam.
We can explain, provide proofs and so on, but this doesnt change anything Sad

This scam never gets old. I don't know how he's hacked but it could possibly be that he fell for a phishing. So aside from Telegram, act is right that this scam is common especially in Twitter. I hope that soon there is like one access hotline from these social media and they can retrieve their accounts immediately especially if they've been hacked and offering scammy BS to the people that follows them. That's like one good and quick solution so that there will be lesser to no victim that will fall to these hackers/scammers.

Those links you mentioned is still in his profile and its been already two days, Hogan is not good in handling the situation did he not communicate with Twitter to take down his account or made them aware of the situation.

This is a lawyer of a popular Cryptocurrecy if this can happen to a prominent account what more to average users like us
Elon Musk before thinking of battling Zuckerberg should first think of fixing the security of Twitter, he changed the logo but the security is still the same.

Since he is a lawyer he can ask or summon an investigation on how did it happen in a legal way...

Despite the fact that there are a lot of confirmed cases of hacking of Twitter accounts, but it should be recognized that most of these hacks were the fault of the account owners themselves. So in this case, the fact that he is a lawyer does not matter, if he himself was irresponsible about the security of his account.

just want to update this thread that it looks like Jeremy Hogan's Twitter account has been recovered from the scammer/hackers. the owner of the account has posted a tweet on July 29 saying that he has gained control of his account again and would post photos to prove that he is actually the owner of the account.

It never cease to amaze me how often social media accounts, especially Twitter accounts of more or less famous people get hacked. Because they don't really look dumb and I'm sure that they know at least basics how to secure their accounts. Then we shouldn't be surprised that average random people get fooled by scammers.

just want to update this thread that it looks like Jeremy Hogan's Twitter account has been recovered from the scammer/hackers. the owner of the account has posted a tweet on July 29 saying that he has gained control of his account again and would post photos to prove that he is actually the owner of the account.
Good news, but I'm wondering how much damage was made in these several days and how much money scammers managed to make.

just want to update this thread that it looks like Jeremy Hogan's Twitter account has been recovered from the scammer/hackers. the owner of the account has posted a tweet on July 29 saying that he has gained control of his account again and would post photos to prove that he is actually the owner of the account.

Well after that what's next, he is a lawyer he knows the law and since he is working on Cryptocurrency and security is part of it, he should do something about it he can ask authorities to investigate and summon Twitter to explain what happens.

Unless it's his fault that he loses access to his account if that's the case then Jeremy Hogan doesn't deserve to be a part of the counsel of XRP, and he doesn't deserve to handle cases about online platform security.

I think hacking and contract exploit cases reached ATH this years. some weeks ago Layerzero CEO twitter account was hacked and same case happened where scammers tweet phising site to claim airdrop and million $ was stolen and now this is another case. I don't know how hackers able to hack these accounts. Either they are not caring about security or they also included in this scam attempt.?

anyway I am also wondering why people are still so hurry to be scammed. why not they first full investigate and check the website before connecting and first connecting with secondary wallet having no fund. how many cases happened and these greedy people still losing funds from same scamming way

It is the lack of knowledge and experience that leads them to make the wrong decision. They are in a hurry to give their money, as scammers very often indicate a deadline, which leads to haste and inability to correctly assess the situation.
