1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum gas fee on: February 22, 2024, 06:29:50 AM
Ethereum relies on a proof of stake mechanism, which requires a large amount of energy to process transactions, which raises the cost of transactions.
Ethereum faces scalability challenges, which means it is difficult to process a large number of transactions at the same time.

Ethereum is working on updates to improve scalability and lower transaction fees, but these updates have not yet been fully implemented.
Speculation also plays a role in high Ethereum fees, as some investors buy Ethereum in the hope that its price will rise, which increases demand for the currency and raises its fees.

A number of factors are responsible for the high gass fees in Ethereum, and I much agree with the way you outlined them, and it's important to note that it's main atribute is the high demand for Ethereum, just like we also experience high demand for Bitcoin which increases it's transaction fees. The high energy consumption in processing transaction increases it's fees, the scalability issues is another area that increases it's fees, I hope that it's developers finds a lasting solutions for it. Despite the high gas fees investors are still buying Ethereum, because it's a reputable crypto coin that's second only to Bitcoin.
1462  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bank in dollar is more safer than naira on: February 21, 2024, 07:36:12 PM

1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice ‼️ on: February 21, 2024, 06:34:16 PM
1. The amount of coins you should be buying matters less, you should focus on making good picks
2. You should be doing your own research
3. If you don't want to actually do the hard work, just go with good 'ol bitcoin (but you still need to know how to protect your funds from hacks/scams)

It's true that it's not the number of coins that you choose to diversify your investment capital that matters, what does is picking reputable coins that'll guarantee you returns on investment, so it's not about the quantity of the coins but their ability to sustain in the crypto market. So the point is that the OP should research and buy crypto coins that are not scam or potential shitcoins, finally if he doesn't want to do the hard work of picking, then it's best to invest in Bitcoin, which is the most trusted crypto, and top altcoins like Ethereum. These categories of cryptocurrency will always give you guaranteed ROI in the bull run.
1464  Economy / Economics / Re: Isn't it all about money? on: February 21, 2024, 05:47:03 PM
To be a millionaire you need to think like a millionaire, making money to become rich requires the right mindset to do so, this is why you can see uneducated people and school dropouts that rose to become very rich. There's a tribe in my country that is known to have very successful people who are business entrepreneurs, most of their millionaires are not educated people, yet they're so rich that they employ graduates to work for them, they're very wise and naturally gifted to make money. So it's possible to become rich without getting a formal education, it only requires the right mindset.

However I believe that being educated with the right mindset to make money will give individuals an edge over who just went into business without a formal education, because education helps to broaden your views and you can research and see every things from different perspectives and theories.
1465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wednesday had been my bad day to gamble. on: February 21, 2024, 10:53:53 AM

Anyway, some will say it is just a superstitious belief but what if it keeps on happening?
How about you? Do you have that one day when you feel like you are not even winning whatever you do or whatever game you play?

If you gamble everyday and you get lucky in other days except on one day of the week and these keeps reoccuring, then I think that if it's superstitious or your luck just refuses to shine on that day, then it's an indicator to avoid gambling on that day. I don't like to be superstitious but some events will make you to question why some things will continue to happen in the same order, I however believe that the supernatural controls the physical, perhaps it's a manifestation that Wednesdays are not your lucky day, so it's best that you should avoid gambling on that day of the week. I guess that you're lucky that mothernature has shown you your unlucky day 😀.
1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find and hold in Atlcoin effectively? on: February 21, 2024, 09:39:06 AM
This is my process for finding an Altcoin (new project) for long-term investment

Having said that, because of the lack of utility in altcoins, i buy only Bitcoin, but if i must advise people on altcoins, i'd tell them to purchase altcoins that have been in the market for sometime and already have a "strong" community.

The steps that is listed in the OP are helpful tips to choosing altcoins to buy, however as you've also noted, an investor can use the strategies and end up buying scam projects or new projects that are legit from the beginning later they're value will end up becoming worthless. The fact is that new projects are risky, even after researching them, they might end up not being profitable in the long run. Like you if I plan to buy altcoins, it'll have to be the ones that have proven their reputations in the crypto market, like Bitcoin, because I like to minimize my risks.
1467  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are children born out of wedlock is still a blessing from God? on: February 21, 2024, 08:51:34 AM

People make mistakes, but what matters is if they are good, if they try to be good. IMO my parents were good people and they wanted to have a child together because they loved each other. That's an act worth a blessing, am I right?

Children are innocent and shouldn't be made to face the consequences of the decisions of their parents regards getting married legally, they deserve all the love and affection from the parents and respect in the society, born out of wedlock should not deter anybody from achieving greatness in life. Marriage is important, and it mainly implies in religion and tradition, in this age some some couples can decide to stay together and have children without getting legally married, and these children will inherit their wealth.

In your own case your parents couldn't get married because of the laws of the church, yet they loved each other and raised you well, so God, loves you and because he created you in his image, that means that you're entitled to His blessings, despite what the laws of religion and tradition says
1468  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't trust your old wallet of when u had no Crypto knowledge on: February 21, 2024, 07:32:47 AM

Meanwhile some persons may have been putting you through the thoughts about Bitcoin whom may have helped you in creating a crytop wallets during a learning era about the coins which probably they may have got access to your private phrases without your knowledge then. My advice at a case like this is that at your readiness of Investing your funds in the crytop, do not use the wallet, you are free of charge to create a new wallet with a generated private phrase keys which can personally be to yourself all alone but depending on how careful you could be about your privacies.

Thanks for bringing this topic up, a lot of us have made mistakes when we were ignorant of the various scams and hacks in the crypto space, immediately a person that's into crypto gains knowledge, they must review everything that they've done before gaining knowledge to see if they've made any mistake that needs correction. Opening a new crypto wallet seems easy to us now, but the truth is that most of us were guided by others to open our first wallets, and you never can tell if the person has copied our seed phrase and can use it to import the wallet to be monitoring transactions inside it, if a substantial amount of coins enters it, they can easily move the coins to another wallet.
1469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone have my wallet phrase on: February 21, 2024, 06:02:47 AM
What worse case scenario given then fact I have only 14$ on this wallet and of course not intend to deposit anymore funds to that wallet

Best thing is to learn from your mistake and move on, never share your seed phrase with anyone no matter the circumstances or persuasions, it's your secret phrase, and remember that as many people that you shared your seed phrase with, you've also shared the ownership of the coins inside with them and anyone of them can have access to it. So just open a new wallet and transfer the coins from the compromised wallet into it, never send any coin into the compromised wallet again, no matter how insignificant the amount is.
1470  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Is this ideal? on: February 20, 2024, 04:30:21 PM
E de easy for our government to heap di blame of dem incompetence to oda people, instead to focus on di solutions on how to comot dis our country for di mess wey we find ourselves. As dem don arrest di BDC operators for Abuja, how e take help our shitcurrency? BDC operators no be di problem of Nigeria, make dem focus on providing enabling environment for investors to do business inside di country, by fighting terrorism, banditry and kidnaping, repair our refineries and build new ones, constant electricity supply and tackle high cost of our local food wey no be imported, many more pressing issues wey de dem table, na to de arrest people wey dem incompetence make dia business to de flourish.

1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JASMY - worth investing? on: February 20, 2024, 03:36:43 PM
Been a while since I even thought about Jasmy and noticed today it has pumped 100% this last week.

Anyone holding at all? Current price is $0.01 and hoping it can reach at least $0.25 this bull run.

I'm really happy for you, despite all odds and the skepticism of investing in new projects, because many of them are scams, you still went ahead to believe and invested in this jasmy project, now it has pumped %100, it's really good. Don't be surprised that it's giving you returns on investment now, when Bitcoin is headed to bull run, it'll activate many coins/tokens to also be pumping, because investors will want to diversify their crypto investments to make more profits, therefore prices will be going up. Investing in projects that is not Bitcoin or top altcoins is risky, but I'm happy for you that the one you invested in is yielding you profit now.
1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too advanced to get into Bitcoin now? on: February 20, 2024, 02:26:58 PM
It's never late to invest in Bitcoin now, we're expecting bull run proper from the end of this year to the first quarter of next year, indicators are pointing that despite any slight fluctuations in price, it'll still be increasing till it reaches it's ATH. You can take it as a fact that so far bull run is still approximately one year ahead that if you buy Bitcoin now, it'll give you over a %100 profit then. So let the OP join the many smart investors that wants to maximize their profits in bull run, if he's looking for a significant price dump where it'll dip very low before buying, then he'll have to wait for bear run, but then he'd have missed out to invest now and cash in many returns in this coming bull run.
1473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good or bad idea saving every penny on crypto stable coins on: February 20, 2024, 01:35:02 PM
Nice contributions. I think I've learnt Alot here.

I think making stable coins my savings wallet would just add up to my stress but rather I'll choose to invest percentage of my long term savings on Bitcoin.

You just made the best decision that will keep increasing your money as long as you're planning to save on a long term, Bitcoin is the best digital asset that you can hold that will keep giving you ROI in the future. Saving your money in stablecoins is good if the value of your country's local currency is not stable and is depreciating compared to the us dollar, in that case stablecoins can be a good choice, but Bitcoin is better because if held on a long term, the value will keep increasing and make the holder richer.

Please don't put every penny that you have in any investment, including Bitcoin, it's important to save some percentage of it in your local currency to cater for daily and unforseen expenditures, it's not every business that accepts digital currency as payment for goods and services.
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling friendly countries on: February 20, 2024, 11:37:26 AM
We all know that gambling income is heavily taxed in most of the countries. This is because most of the countries have separate taxes for the gambling related income. I want to know which are the most gambling friendly countries which charge very less or nil income tax on gambling winnings ?

Some members here seems to think that you're probably planing to travel to a gambling friendly country where you'll not be taxed for gambling, but I think that you might just be asking out of curiosity, probably because your country's tax on gambling is very high. Knowledge is power so as a gambler it's ok to be informed about the gambling habits and regulations in other countries. If you gamble and win, I don't think that it'll be much of a problem to give your country a share of your winning as tax, although you can argue that they don't compensate you for your loses. I think that it's only in countries that have developed their gambling industry that can afford not to collect tax from gamble winners, as a way to entice their citizens and tourists to engage in gambling.
1475  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Technical Analysis Really Work? on: February 20, 2024, 10:48:48 AM

In a bull market, I think the TA may not work at some point, it follows certain behavior as the market reacts to the sentiments but TA does work in most cases when the market goes sideways or even in the bear market.

The only psychological in trading is controlling the trader's greed which is why most advice says don't be too emotional about it. Sometimes when a trader can't wait for the right price and just keeps buying and not knowing why, he'll end up losing.

If there's anything like psychological analysis in crypto trading, it'll have to do with the trader being emotional and it might lead him to not focusing on a perticular parten, it can also lead to not knowing the right time to buy or being greedy by not knowing the right time to call it a day. Technical and fundamental analysis are however very important for every trader to understand, but the way that a trader chooses to use them is what matters, trading is hard and that is a fact, so it's good to always trade with the amount that you can afford to loose.
1476  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [NSFL] If you live in US or EU, this is your money hard at work on: February 20, 2024, 09:53:40 AM
I believe you were supposed to take that image and do not embed it this way, by the way. I think the proper way to share this kind of content is to put the link in your post and warn in before hand to people who are reading your post, instead tagging the topic of your thread as NSFL. Actually, I would not be surprised by many of the people here in the Politics and Society section are not ever aware of the meaning of NSFL. It would be good if you could edit your OP, in my opinion.

I support your opinion that gory pictures like the one that is posted in the OP is not appropriate in a public forum like this, because you don't know the health conditions of everybody that will see it, it can trigger high BP or some other health issues in some people, so in the process of proving a point you might harm others. The best approach to showing things like this in a forum is to talk about it and share the link, even media houses warns viewers before showing scenes like that.

I don't support Israeli soldiers to enter civilian populated areas to fight their war, it's very wrong because these are innocent people, there should be rules of engagement on where to fight their armed enemies. If it's proven that it's Israel, that is responsible for that barbaric act, then it's vary sad indeed and their allies must take note and answer if they're in support of these terror act.
1477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are newbies afraid to comment on threads of highly ranked members? on: February 20, 2024, 09:07:23 AM

I want to give my opinion on some threads when I read threads of senior, legendary, or ranked , but being a newbie, I am afraid to join discussions with seniors, (legendary) members. The scary thing is (though it may be completely wrong to think), I think, can tell me, how a newbie engages in discussions with seniors, wants to give advice, what I know and how little I know. Also, I have a small number of threads that have no merit (that's my main fear). I even stopped commenting on some posts, thinking I might be wrong in my knowledge, even though I was right.

Fear is a natural feeling and when you come into a new place where there are intellectuals, people who have gathered knowledge of what you seek, it's quite natural to want to feel intimidated because you're afraid that you might not measure up to their standard. The only thing to do in this forum is summon courage to make posts based on your understanding and put yourself under the experienced members montorship, inasmuch as you're not competing with them, you'll learn and increase your knowledge. I joined the forum without any crypto knowledge and today most things that I know about the industry is from this forum, this is the best place to discuss and learn about crypto related matters.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Price of Bitcoin and Ethereum on: February 20, 2024, 07:30:06 AM
Generally, prices of cryptocurrencies rise or fall along with bitcoin. This is because investors usually use bitcoin as their standard. If bitcoin’s price is rising, the more they want to invest but they would rather buy cheaper currencies that may perform just as well as bitcoin hence why they will start looking for other altcoins

Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency and Ethereum is the number two, as far as I know these two are the most reputable cryptos in the market, so it's not surprising that Ethereum, will follow the bull or bear seasons of Bitcoin, and when either of the seasons happens, other altcoins tend to follow their trends too. I think that the maths is quite simple, when Bitcoin is headed to bull run, investors will be making massive profits because of it's constant price pump, and they'll want to take advantage of it to also invest in altcoins to generate more profits, also because altcoins can pump and give more profits on the short term. But investors needs to be cautious about the altcoins to buy because it's not all of them that are worth investing money in, this is why I prefer top altcoins like Ethereum.
1479  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why you might miss out on the bull run while holding on: February 19, 2024, 04:35:13 PM

See eh, during the bull run, no be all coin dy rise oo, most of this alt and shit coin wey dy in your possession fit frustrate the haven day light out of you during the bull run, so to me if you wan dy sure say you self go benefit from this bull run, I suggest you accumulate like 95% more of Bitcoin, than park alt and shit coin wey fit disappoint you during the bull run,  abeg newbies like me make ona follow who know road so that ona no go lost.

Wetin you talk make better sense because as Bitcoin price de pump wey many analysts de predict say di price go pass $100k during bull run, many investors go de happy to also de buy altcoins wey dem go reason say di projects go follow Bitcoin bull and get plenty returns on their investments. But di matter be say no be di whole altcoins na im de worthy to hodle, any newbie wey wan hodle altcoins suppose carry out correct research to know weda na better project before dem go invest in am, my advice for dem be say make dem go for top altcoins wey don gain better reputation for di crypto market.

Most of the new projects wey de spring up everyday na scam dem be, so unless person wan gamble dem money because dem fit to make profit on di short term or lose dem money inside shitcoin. So if dem must invest for any crypto wey never gain reputation, make dem investment di money wey dem fit to lose, but make dem invest most of dem money for Bitcoin wey sure pass all of dem.
1480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am seeking advice investement in new projects is legit or not ?? on: February 19, 2024, 03:21:44 PM
Not a project by The Tor Project, Inc themselves? No? Then that's easily a scam. It seems to be just a fake Tor token with a memecoin mechanics with the swap fees lol. My first point alone should immediately make you stay away from that "project".

If it's not in the Tor family then it's most probably a scam, the developers of the project should have chosen a different name for it because anybody that's into crypto will want to verify if the project is a part of Tor, I think that's their first flaw. One of the most important things that I've learnt in this forum is to carry out research on anything that's associated with cryptocurrency, because of the many scams and hacks in the space, I never get carried away with the hypes of new projects, because in the end most of them are scams. We'll see how this one goes.
