That was the website I used...I'll get screenshots when I am home, but thanks for the info...looks like I may need to invest in a machine then...is the turnover pretty good? I'd like the hobby to pay for itself if possible and right now the other miners do not. I've had Bitcoin Miner running on my desktop since last August and it earned a grand total of $7 LOL

Okay  I thought it was this mining manager that you were using.

You have multiple direction to head in when you mine.

First to ask is what is your tolerance for noise and heat?
Second to ask do you have 110/120 power or 220/240 power

If you have 110/120 power
If you want a quiet miner

sidehack makes the r606 miner that does BTC direct. it is not noisy and he has a thread here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5053833.0

here is an image of it

Terminus R606:

do not expect to turn a profit with it. but you can learn from it.

It is small  say 5 inches by 4 inches by 4 inches  IIRC

Here is a modified machine I built

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5160194.msg51660368#msg51660368

this is a riff of my idea
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5213936.0

it may be better then my idea.

Do not expect any of the above gear to make a profit.

But they have a purpose in the world of mining.
14644  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Italy quarantines 16 million people due to Coronavirus on: March 11, 2020, 05:07:00 PM
COVID coin uses a Proof of virus mining algorithm and someone in Italy developed an ASIC because they are getting the highest total hashrate which has shifted a chunk of the marketshare away from China.
This would be pretty funny if people were not dying from the disease.

I do wonder if Itlay is telling the truth about the disease and most other countries are lying about it.

My logic is as follows USA flu death rates yearly flux between 20,000-70,000

This leaves a lot of space to call a corona-v death a simple flu death.

Since Trump's people placed the bet that this would be a non-event  they would be inclined to do very little corona-v testing and the numbers would be under reported.

Italy has really bad death rate more then 5%

China has a low death rate under 3%  that is a big variation in death rate.

all info below is from here
https://coronavirus-map.com/

world wide is 121,564  caught it    4,373  total dead     66,239 Recovered

80,969   china ............................ 3152
10,149   italy ..............................631
9,000     iran ..............................354
7,755     korea
2,174     spain
1,784     france
1,629     germany
1,050     USA .............................. 29

The Italian death rate is really high 6.21%

the USA death rate is 2.76%

the Chinese death rate is 3.89%

So who is reporting correctly.

I know USA wants to underreport
Maybe Italy is over reporting to get some fiat printed

who knows.

14645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Here Need Some Help on: March 11, 2020, 04:23:26 PM
He may be browser mining.

I cpu mine xmr on nice hash and they auto convert the xmr coin to btc coin.

Since I am not sure of what he is mining yet.  Or how he mines it I do not know where to direct him.

14647  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: March 11, 2020, 04:00:17 PM
As much as I hate to say it but these 7700-7800 levels will shake out a lot of miners.

The Dow Jones tanked again about 1000 points back down to 23,900  this is a 14 month low last reached in Jan of 2019.

It seems BTC is under price pressure bigly.

I wonder if bitmain will use s19 pro's in-house and clear out all their in house s17 and s17 pro gear.

HI, I'm new, I'm sure this has been posted in the thousands of topics listed but I just fired up MultiMiner. My GUI doesn't look like any of the pics from the website and I am not sure how to read everything yet to ensure it is even mining properly.

What gear do you use a gpu mining rig or an asic.

Didn't know there have been so many forks! Awesome! Love it! Grin

You can check other fork coins of your BCH wallet or Bitcoin wallet to http://www.findmycoins.ninja/

If you are going to get those fork coins always make sure to transfer major coins like BTC and BCH before you claim the other fork coins.
Because there are reports that if you didn't transfer your BTC to another wallet before claiming fork coins your Bitcoin will be lost.

So always transfer your major coins first before taking out other fork coins.

Edit: Should I follow this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a08MlPSSULU

Thank you

This method gives you a proper way to import your wallet.dat file but before you can claim fork coins you will need to transfer Bitcoin to another wallet as I suggested above.

And then export your private keys you can use these commands below

Code:
walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
dumpprivkey [your Bitcoin address here]

Once you get the private keys keep them somewhere safe. You can use that private key to claim any fork coins.

make sure to pull the btc at  least 95% of it or more.

leave a bit in the original address as it will hlep you track things.
14655  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: March 10, 2020, 11:41:59 PM
you had s17 pros available ?
14656  Other / Meta / Re: my topic was delete on: March 10, 2020, 06:16:39 PM
So what do I need to do to get the topic published?

publish it in altcoin section

altcoin mining then  switching to btc payout is altcoin mining.

14658  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Be aware of fake firmware floating around. on: March 10, 2020, 03:02:42 PM
In a morally correct world 🌎

1) bitmain would not have ripped off cgminer in the first place.
2) all bitmain miners would have 3 speed settings.
3) all bitmain miners would have multiple voltage settings.

If the above were true they would be almost no need for after market firmware.

That said. If you use aftermarket and point it to a solo pool you would not be hurting anyone but yourself if it is bad firmware.

If you point aftermarket at a pps+ pool you will hurt the pool if the firmware is bad.

If you point aftermarket at a pool like kano or mmpool or ckpool you hurt yourself you hurt the pool you hurt  your fellow miners.

I have about 2ph mostly pointed at viabtc all uses bitmain firmware with one exception a 7th braiins.

It is very hard for me to test as I am warm room 30c most of the time.

look to see if you have an h3 or h6.
