Very nice charts HR!
May i ask,  your charts/financial knowledge does that comes from experience in your daytime job /  experience in wallstreet markets etc?
I sell jeans so my knowledge in this kind of things is not that big Tongue

Once upon a time . . .

But now I'm a fairly normal kind of guy living a fairly normal kind of life . . .

Okay, fairly normal anyway.   Cheesy

HR,
I value your feedback and knowledge, so I thought I would ask. Do you see a retrace on the DGB charts?

YC

Very Short Term: bullish above 77, bearish below, and if it's bullish, that's all the pullback we should get.  Grin

Edit: This post had some other longer term horizontal support and resistance zones outlined that may also be of interest.

Introducing ★★DigiHash Easy Miner★★ Beta v1.0
Note: This is beta software that gets smarter & adapts (learns mining configs & hardware profiles) as time goes on
Many card profiles & configs will not be in the system today, but with your help will be their very soon

What is DigiHash Easy Miner?

DigiHash Easy Miner is software designed to make mining DigiByte on Windows with a CPU & GPU as simple as:

1) Download

2) Install digihash.exe
3) Enter DGB address from wallet & start mining on DigiHash.co

Works with AMD & NVIDIA cards & CPU's

Our goal is to begin bringing in many new users through some of the marketing campaigns we are planning with this software. We want to make DigiByte mining as simple and as easy to do as possible for a beginner.

How does it work?

DigiHash auto-detects your computers hardware (AMD, NVIDIA, CPU) & then connects to a central server to download the appropriate mining software and references the appropriate configuration and begins mining. All with one click of a button.

For the first few days & weeks most configurations for miners will not be optimized in the initial miners database on the server as their is literally thousands of combinations for hardware.

This is where we can use your help!

We need people today to download the miner & run it even if it does not mine properly for your specific card type. This is the only way we can gather the unique hardware identifier for your specific mining hardware. This is done automatically in the background and sent to the server.

From their we can start matching configs with hardware ID's over the next few weeks.

Please email dev@digibyte.co with your specific card model & manufacturer, the mining software & version you have optimized & the config you are using that gets the best results. There will also be a trace ID displayed you can report to us so we can confirm your hardware ID and config with.

Once the config is in the database it will work for everyone and help out bring new miners on board.

We also will be releasing a Wiki later today where you can also submit hardware configurations.

Future Upgrade Plans
Support for Linux & Mac OSX
ASIC support
Auto tuning widget & manual controls for intensity, threads etc
Facelift

Remember this is a version 1 beta built entirely from the ground up for DigiByte. Be patient as it will get smarter as time goes on & a user will not have to keep downloading new versions.

Cheers!

Note: This software is not required, nor will it ever be required to mine DigiByte. This is simply a tool to make it easier for beginners.

How's this going for everyone? As you know, I'm working on the mining section of the asistec-ti forum, and the DigiHash Easy Miner for CPU mining is the natural starting point.

I'm getting an Access Denied error trying to use either skein or qubit or scrypt, and a 403 Forbidden error when trying to use the groestl algo.

Using cpuminer-multi, Version: 1.0.9 on a Pentium i3 laptop with Windows 7 SP1.

I've been doing some testing today mining the Qubit algo with cpuminer, and the results are not encouraging for CPU mining. There are simply too many GPU miners mining the Qubit algo for it to be worth it for CPU miners to mine. The diff is too high, and the CPU miners are going to get very little DGB in exchange for burning up their CPU's. CPU mining is a thing of the past IMO, and not even worth promoting - in fact, there could well be a negative boomerang effect by doing so. Nevertheless, I will post the HOWTO so that we will all be able to see that for ourselves, with, of course, a clear disclaimer accompanying it.  Sad

Ripple is a 100% pre-mined scam that currently self-perpetuates based on secret partner collusion - that's something the old antitrust laws used to prevent.

Your need to make the kind of post you just made only confirms the baseless scam nature of the "coin" you are promoting - your own posts are your worst enemy Cheesy (as if that were possible with an obviously colluded rip-off scam to begin with).

This is my story
I sold 6 millions att 20
and bought three million att 90 yesterday
heh heh lol

This my story.. i don't buy anything, F**ck im lateeee  Cheesy

Are you serious dude? You are not late, far from it. For a short term profit, you have maybe right. But for the long term, DGB is enough cheap actually even if from december 2014 to february 2015 it gained 900%.

I'll always remember to people that 9 months ago, DGB value was around 250 satoshis! And the coin have the potential (in the long term) of probably 4x to 8x this value. Maybe more if Jared and the Digibyte team will make further improvment. Believe me, if I had some money to put again in DGB, i'll do it. But unfortunately I haven't Sad

The thing to keep in mind is : if you believe in DGB and its potential, you can easily buy some millions... and simply wait several months/years, because DGB can only grow up. This kind of quality in a digital currency is pretty rare and that's why supporters of DGB will be rewarded, soon or late.

Now, do what you want. But if you are patient enough... you'll probably not regret it. This is my 2 cents.
.
The theoretical target is 1000 DGB to 1 BTC. That would be 100,000 satoshi.

1489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digibyte over ripple & doge? on: February 08, 2015, 09:53:14 AM
Anyone who has followed DGB through the past year knows it has been through a lot. Jared and his team busted their asses making sacrifices to keep DGB going forward.  This is why I totally respect Jared and his team because they would not let it fail. It’s taken some time but DGB has earned it and it’s time for it to shine now.

Anyone can see for themselves reading through the 800+ page thread for DGB. The team has some great things planned. I’m not interested in comparing to any other coin or community. I believe that DGB will continually build it’s own growing unique community because it has a lot going for it.

Congratulations to Jared, the entire team, and community. You guys deserve it. Smiley

I would go so far as to put "would not let it fail" in positive by saying instead that the commitment was such that they "would only accept success". Unlike the vast majority of coins that were created on the lark with the expectation that they would be able to survive "just because they existed", DigiByte's founder and dev team have been constantly and continually working on creating a digital currency that people will actually use. There's a world of difference between a basic alt-coin with its own blockchain and little else, and a functioning digital currency! A digital currency that will actually be used needs to be much more than just a simple blockchain of cryptographic hashes. While most see it as the final product, the "genesis block" is truly nothing more than the starting point. Algorithm modifications and bug fixes are little more than routine maintenance and basically reside in the starter's box as well. Creating a digital currency that is widely accepted and widely used is another matter completely: this is where hard work comes in, like being one of the few digital currency developers who attended the first ever Digital Currencies Convention for Bankers, and little ol’ things like that. Jared's commitment from the very beginning has been to create a real digital currency and he’s been out there in the real world working extremely hard to make it happen doing all the right things to add value and create the necessary infrastructure. He’s identified an opportunity in the micro payment sphere and has set about doing the job in a professional and businesslike manner - exactly what you’d expect to see in a successful business start-up - and that has been, and will continue to be, the major difference that puts DGB in a league all by itself.

I’ve started to populate the mining section of the new forum:

http://asistec-ti.com  "FORUM" > "Mining - how you can mine 'em" > "Hardware" > "What Do I Need to Mine with a GPU?"
I would just make the forum open exactly like any other web page. I find the current opening (in its own window) very invasive compared to normal workflow with modern browsers. Tabs shall be allowed.

You can avoid the automatic sizing achieved by the popup window by going directly to http://asistec-ti.com/forum/

The tabs not showing issue is Chrome specific. Firefox and IE both work properly. There's not a specs switch to force tabs that I'm aware of. I've done some quick searching on the subject and I've come up empty handed.  Sad

Thanks for the feedback, and if you have any useful information on the Chrome issue that you can point me to, that would be great!
Don't open the forum via javascript. Just set
Code:
<a href="the/path" target="_blank">Forum</a>
However, in general it's bad behavior to decide as site operator which links should be opened in a new window and which not. Just avoid the 'target' attribute and the user can decide whether he opens the link in the current window (click) or in a new tab (scroll-wheel click or [CTRL]+Click or right click->"open in new tab").

Smiley

Perhaps I need to consider that more seriously, but if I were to do that, I'd probably just forget about opening a new window to begin with. My main reason for opening a new window is to try and get initial sizing that best fits each user's monitor resolution so I don't get content being "crunched" by too small of a window (mainly an issue with the FAQ, and less so with the forum). I know what you're saying, and it's not the most recommended thing to do. I'll keep weighing the pros and cons (and looking for another way to do the same thing). Thanks again. I really appreciate your input.

BTW, in order to avoid cluttering here on the DigiByte thread of BitCoinTalk, I've created a category on the forum called "Forum Tips" where everyone can post everything you've got on the subject (and any other subject for that matter) without filling this thread with unnecessary "OT".

Edit: Really, I should take advantage of the opportunity to promote Mozilla a little more: for those of us who are concerned about real privacy issues and believe that open source is the way to free ourselves from the prying eyes and invasive policies of the multinationals, Mozilla is definitely the way to go. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/privacy/tips/#

I remember when I first started with digital currencies.  I remember the excitement and hope when I set up my first mining rig and downloaded my first wallet.  I remember the heady joy the first time I received a few coins, sent them, and exchanged them.  I felt like there were endless possibilities.  But, over the years that excitement was tempered by time and experience.  Digibyte is the first project in a long time that has sparked the same interest, excitement, and hope that I had at the beginning.  But, now, it’s an excitement that comes from experience.  Good work you guys.  Keep it up.  We all started doing this because we believe in the future of digital currencies.  Digibyte has reminded me why.  I firmly believe DGB is a fantastic coin with endless possibilities over the next few years.

My experience and sentiments exactly! Couldn't have said it better!

. . . it's also great to hear that asistec-ti is something that you consider to be of value to you, and I look forward to hearing from you over there if you ever wish to chime in.

http://asistec-ti.com  "FORUM" > "Mining - how you can mine 'em" > "Hardware" > "What Do I Need to Mine with a GPU?"

Much of the data currently available is not up-to-date, probably due to the important decline in profitability and the lack of interest in setting up new rigs. I suspect this will change in the not too distant future and that we will soon see another generation of new miners “setting up shop” as price moves higher.

The more you can post your own experiences the better, and better yet if you post current issues you may be having trying to set up your own first rig. Don't be shy. Even the smallest helping hand is a big help.

Remember too, that the idea is to make things as simple and as easily understandable as possible without leaving out the fundamental technical aspects, and since that’s a tough balancing act, I’m always interested in hearing if there’s something technical that I’ve overlooked, or, if, on the other hand, it’s still too technical. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

So, let me get this right. I've got gold from around $200 an ounce and I should sell now at $1200 in the interest of making gold ownership more widespread?

What makes something more widespread is when people buy it on a widespread basis at whatever price it's at, regardless.

Am I to play good Samaritan selling in order to help someone else out? I think giving some of your profits to Doctors Without Borders would be much more interesting.

You are a senior person in this community and I respect that. Digibyte is angling for a merchant solution, I am just being devils advocate to remind everyone that if there aren't sellers then there aren't buyers. 200 BTC trading on Cryptsy is impressive and has likely attracted a lot of people who are in it for just profit.

Giving your wealth to charities is commendable, perhaps establish a DGB fund for your charity now and get a news article out of it. What if Doctors without borders were also giving DGB out to their patients.

Anyway it's a great community and I wish you well.

Don't get me wrong and don't miss my point: there are always going to be sellers - and always just enough to meet buying demand - it's simply a matter of price.

Everybody has their price.  Wink

And there's no need to be charitable. None what-so-ever.

I say, be as greedy as you like. You deserve it for having supported DGB when no-one else would!

Hoard it all you like and make buyers pay up for what you think it's worth.

Holding is great way to increase the price but be careful you don't end up with the wrong mindset. This coin is about merchants and trading, if everyone just holds because they expect another 10% gain, then another 20% and so on, you won't have the liquidity in the market for the merchants.

Promote spending habits early, don't encourage hoarding because it'll have negative affects on the coin in the future. And no I'm not suggesting dumping to lower the price I'm saying be ready to spend those coins when the time comes, regardless of the price and future predictions.

Remember the 10,000 BTC pizza? Back then it was just a $25 purchase. Are you prepared to spend 100K DGB on a pizza? If not it's going to be a long road ahead.

Don't encourage hoarding, encourage distribution.

about 6 btc untill 150 sat, wtf guys! HOLD HOLD

24hralttrade, just a idea: Maybe we can do some kind of dgb (investor) day in Holland in the near future? And talk about the possibilities for dgb in Holland? (i mean how mutch dutch dgb holders are here?)

That would be a awesome idea!  Will get back at it!

I think about 7 on this forum,  And i have 8 friends invested in DGB,, they bought  under 15 sat when i tipped them.
They are smilling from ear to ear atm  Grin

When you think about how the number of people who really know anything at all about digital currencies to begin with is so terribly small, it engulfs the mind to consider just what might happen if the number of DGB holders went from the 100's to the 1,000's, or the 10,000's, or the millions.

Aren't millions our objective?

Comptemplating that eventuality can boggle the mind.    Smiley

DGB is worth much more than 200sat, if you have your lesson from previous coins, nobody should dump no coins until 500 sat, otherwise they will lose and try buying back at higher price Smiley

Juicy prices, but I am on hold to 500 sat Smiley Anybody with me? Even if you sold, we are still heading to 500, so why sell ? Smiley
I dont like giving targets but it seems it is Cheesy

That's more or less my initial target for my first profit taking (10% maximum that will cover all costs - purchased and mined, hardware included - for the remaining 90%). I've moved it up from my initial 200 sat I spoke about a couple of months ago.

Yeah, I've got orders in around that number.

All in all its been a great start to 2015 for Digibyte. EasyMiner, iOS Wallet, Multisig Web Wallet and a Tipbot that functions over multiple platforms. 99% of coins never release a single one of these projects and for the ones that do they usually come in the form of shady 3rd parties. All of that and we have seen a major price increase ontop of it all which will bring in alot of new eyes. Shaping up to be a good year for the team and long standing supporters.

Fantastic results from people who deliver.

I've said it before, and I'm sure to say it again, you guys are doing a bang-up job.

It's also great to see people who are also able to honestly and humbly tout their accomplishments for what they are (and in this case they are accomplishments indeed!) without coming off as being pompous and arrogant. That's a tough combination and is one more thing that speaks volumes for you all.

Here's to a great start to 2015 for DigiByte!!!

Here's another sampling from back in September of last year with no-nonsense math as my basis. You could buy 2 to 3 times the amount on the open market that you could get for the same money mining, so why not! This was a no-brainer for anyone "crazy enough" to be mining in the first place, and was only the beginning for me - I couldn't help myself and was back buying with fiat well before that initially planned date in January, and I ended up with an average cost basis on everything bought that was below that 19 best price figure of that early September writing.

For the record, with the subsidy reduction of the last fork, the math is still the same, even at 70 satoshi.   Shocked

Current buyers are not late to the game by any means.  Cool

I was doing the math comparing sample current payout figures with their reported hashrates (not estimated network hashrates), and my conclusion was that DGB is trading in the market for about half of what it costs to mine, regardless of whether you’re using GPU or ASIS (in fact, SHA-256 is the most costly to mine), and that's only considering electricity operating costs and says nothing about ROI on hardware investment.

If you can directly buy DGB for half of what it costs to mine, then why not just directly buy DigiByte on the open market? The logical extension of that question is why not turn off all of your mining rigs (and save them) while buying at half the cost from others who are burning their rigs up?

I could shut off my mining and take the same money I’m using to pay my electric bill to BUY TWICE AS MUCH as I could mine with that same budget!

However, I’m a long term nut and can’t bring myself to shut down (that being said, none of my rigs are stressing, and they’re all running cool and efficient with a life expectancy of many years).

Nevertheless, I can “double” my production, ACTUALLY TRIPLE, or more (at 19, where I first bought, the figures were even better still) by simply buying in the open market with the money I’d have used to pay electricity and without any new hardware investment at all! Double my budget to expand production, but instead of using that money to pay for electricity, buy direct, and get twice as much as I would have by mining! That’s fantastic!

That’s what I’m doing. I “expanded” my mining budget by doubling the amount to be spent and took 4 months worth of that new money available for mining, bought BTC with fiat  (and BTC is cheap right now as well), and then simply bought DGB and got 8 MONTHS WORTH in the process! And got it now!

I really need to shut my rigs down for a few months and just buy, but liquidity is a problem – there isn’t much on the market to buy at these prices and you’ve got to be patient, very patient – and who knows how long sellers will be willing to sell at a loss (one thing’s for sure, things wear out, and as their mining capacity slowly goes off-line, I doubt very much they’ll be re-investing). I'll keep mining anyway, just to keep the rigs occupied and out of trouble Wink but if the math continues to justify it, you can count on me being back in January with another multi-month purchase.  Grin
