When can it be downloaded?
1482  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: May 10, 2011, 01:29:16 PM
Thanks for your input, it's awesome to have people review my code! Helps me improve! I have fixed those "issues" Smiley I think I was using .post to begin with to check if timer had expired or something and then I just forgot all about it hehe...
1483  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: May 09, 2011, 08:35:53 PM
Yes, I just changed it. I'm still planning to make it dynamic, will just have to find the most optimal way first Smiley Been thinking maybe to make it % wise. So that if less than a certain % of jackpot money comes in within a day the jackpot timer is slightly reduced and minimum spend increased (but only AFTER a spend has been made, would not like it to be 1 hour left and then have the jackpot timer suddenly decrease with 1 hour). This may continue for several days until we reach 1 hour.

Will be interesting to see how long this round will last now that we're at 5 hours again. Happy hunting  Grin
1484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bounty for a bitcoin mascott drawing on: May 06, 2011, 04:58:19 PM
Please make the mascott an alpaca-socks wearing crypto-terrorist riding an alpaca.

* Terrorist because of the liberty dollar statement: "Attempts to undermine the legitimate currency of this country are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism".

Suppose that this site goes offline by the gov, what happen to the money, they go away, and put the money in mybitcoin.com or in paypal, there is no difference, i want that the transaction will be done without intermediaries. Huh
The money will only be in mybitcoin for 1 second. If you prefer you can just run the bitcoin client on the server and use it to send out payments.
1486  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: May 05, 2011, 05:56:13 PM
KoziTwo, please read your PMs, I wrote you days ago but didn't yet receive an answer.
I am sorry, I didn't see that.. made a reply now!
1487  Economy / Economics / Re: Business Model on: May 05, 2011, 05:40:36 PM
If you trust the guy who owns the website this is very simple:
1. Create a mybitcoin.com account
2. Use your programming skills to create a program that:
   - Waits for payments, upon receival: automatically pay out the received amount to 6 different accounts.
1488  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Congratulations to the owner of "19JWKd..."! Winner of 128 BTC on BitLotto on: May 05, 2011, 05:30:11 PM
Congratulations to whoever won, seems like I didn't Tongue

Also, why so much text all on the front page? I think it would be better with less text and instead add some faq or "how it works" page for those interested...  Smiley
1489  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Play BlackJack with Bitcoins! on: May 05, 2011, 05:27:43 PM
Very well made! But if I can recommend you something: add balance so that it's more visible when playing.
1490  Other / Off-topic / Re: Political compass! (who believes what?) on: May 03, 2011, 11:36:23 AM
This is what I got a few months back:
1491  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: May 01, 2011, 08:08:12 PM
Been having issues with it not accepting my btc today and yesterday.
Doing it exactly like I did before too.
Not sure what's going on.
That's weird..  Undecided Please provide more info... Did you pay using mybitcoin and then after payment your bubble(s) did not appear? Where did you send from?
1492  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: April 30, 2011, 09:35:19 PM
Next time make sure to make a spend resetting the jackpot timer and saving your investment Smiley

Because its a lot of adding if its not on the first page, or a lot of subtracting from what is marked as needed to burst all bubbles on the last page.
Fair enough, it's quite a bit of work to implement so unless there is a lot of demand for this I won't do it for now though.

And that reminds me, the first bitlotto draw is almost upon us, hehe.

Ah, first BitLotto player I know about! It would be pretty crazy if you won that too! I'm guessing it will be about 120 BTC. I just hope someone from this forum wins!  Grin
Really? I play it too! If bitcoin prices stays at this level that jackpot is going to be quite formidable! In fact, the bubble game jackpot is also looking a lot better now than just a few days ago  Grin
1493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dark pools - how do they work? on: April 29, 2011, 12:07:01 PM

The Mt Gox dark pool allows you to buy or sell large quantities of BTC without moving the market.

You can mark any buy or sell order with a value over $1000 as being in the dark pool.

Orders in the dark pool don't show up on the order book.

There are 2 types of dark pool orders.
Dark pool and Normal - Can be filled either partially from the normal orders or the dark pool.
Dark pool Only - Can be filled only by other dark pool orders or a single normal order that is larger than the dark pool order. This means that if there is a single normal order that would fill the dark pool order both will be filled.

Currently no, it's by how much has been spent ALL TIME. I will have to change that eventually though, but for now thats how it is.

PS: I think the bitlotto ad is from operation fabulous, it appears for all bubbles that didn't enter url.
1495  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: April 28, 2011, 11:34:48 AM
Payment sent, Transaction ID: 36577 Smiley Maybe a few bitcent was missing in the balance, will add some more to it to make sure this won't happen again, it seems all other spends have succeeded.
1496  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: April 28, 2011, 11:28:55 AM
Congratulations to doood who won the jackpot of 51.04992 BTC!!

So does the next round have to be set up manually or is it automated somehow?
Completely automated, but looks like you guys figured it out already seeing that the jackpot is already at 14 BTC Cheesy

Jackpot is also supposed to be paid automatically, but it seems your jackpot money was NOT paid automatically (like it should), it tried to pay this address: "1Krbb2jqDDxvDHSFPPUBhM8S2Hz5M4PXe8"... is this correct?
1497  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: April 27, 2011, 04:55:58 PM
Would like to see how much needs to be spent till the bubble bursts, instead of 1.5x the spend.
I don't see a good reason to do this since you can already see the amount needed to burst next bubble in statistics. You can also calculate the amount needed for other bubbles by adding up all fees.
Once the lotto is won will the bubbles go in with the bursted bubbles or a separate category.  I would prefer to see them in a separate category.
Once the bubble game is restarted all bubbles in that round will be removed from "bursted bubbles". It will start completely from scratch and last round will not be visible for users. I will add option to view last rounds jackpot and who won it, and maybe if there is enough demand I will also add the possibility to view bubbles (both bursted and non bursted). Smiley
1498  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: April 26, 2011, 10:40:12 AM
How is top spender calculated?
From btc address to pay, or from btc payment sent from addy, or from individual sale?
It will sum up all the payments made where advertisement has the same receiving address. Then, depending on how much each has spent it will be giving an % chance to have it's advertisement displayed.

Example: Let's say we have 5 payments in the bubble.
1. Receiving address: X9sJA - 10 btc
2. Receiving address: Os8x3 - 10 btc
3. Receiving address: X9sJA - 10 btc
4. Receiving address: IQ91J - 20 btc
5. Receiving address: Os8x3 - 20 btc

Total: 70 btc
X9sJA = 20/70 = 28,57%
Os8x3 = 30/70 = 42,86%
IQ91J = 20/70 = 28,57%

As you can see, all spends will currently be counted, so even if you use different receiving addresses it doesn't really decreases your chances... Smiley
The way it's done now might be changed in the future though, I'm not sure if it will be good for the load when the bubble game grows big enough.
1499  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Bubble Game (with jackpot) on: April 25, 2011, 09:01:59 PM
Q: What happens when timer reaches zero?

A: The person who last made a spend will instantly receive the entire jackpot. Then all spends will be cleared and the bubble game will start from scratch.

all spends meaning all un-popped bubbles?  meaning you get nothing back if your bubble doesn't pop, before the timer runs out?
Yes Smiley You only receive profit if your bubble is bursted (or if you win jackpot). You are essentially buying advertising but with a chance of getting your advertising money returned (with profit) or actually winning a lot by being the last spender. It's named "bubble" since well.. all bubbles will eventually pop.

Thanks for all your ideas and suggestions. I will think more about those, but for now I have reduced the timer to 5 hour and set minimum to 0.10 btc. As time goes on I will probably reduce the timer even further.

Operation fabulous links don't show up in empty bubbles.
Maybe also randomise empty bubble with content from topspender/next to pop/new/popped.
You are correct, but it wasn't my intention to do that. Only displaying Operation fabulous in "top spender" section.

Also, I added timestamp to each bubble now.
