1481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Internet Currency will Prevail in the Years to Come? on: March 22, 2013, 04:07:37 PM
I believe it is going to be a combination of alt currencies. Not one is going to dominate. This is a good thing in my opinion.
1482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Crashing - How low will it go? on: March 22, 2013, 04:05:47 PM
We fully endorse Litecoin. I find it funny when I hear people say you can't buy anything with Litecoin. More and more merchants everyday are beginning to accept it. We accept it on our website and we have a vast amount of inventory, gold, silver and jewelry.

1484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing BTC/LTC long term in safe deposit box on: March 21, 2013, 08:14:25 PM
Rather than storing anything in a safe deposit box in a bank - I wood go out in the woods and put everything in a 'survival box' and dig it down somewhere. Seems safer than the bank option to me. To reduce risks, you may even split it out (several wallet - several boxes). Then GPS-mark those places, and come back in 5 years. Wink

Agreed, as with gold and silver, bitcoin is a way of getting out of the banking system. I wouldn't be in a hurry to put your money back in.

1487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Things Luxury - Now Accepting Litecoin on: March 21, 2013, 06:21:41 PM
Great news!!

the thing is that I cannot enter the site. I get the following error:

Could not connect to the Database Server. Check Hostname, Username and Password.

Strange, usually there is only an issue if someone is using a random proxy server and hits one in Russia or Nigeria etc. I will get my IT guys to look into this. The site has not been down or reporting any errors although and we have been receiving steady sales. If you are not using a proxy server, try using one for now and I'm sure you will access it:

Absolutely great, do you also ship internationally ?

Edit: Sorry - I already saw in your FAQ that you do.

Edit2: When will you add Litecoin as a checkout option ? I know you already have added it, only manually ? will it be added to the shopping chart checkout soon ?

We most certainly do ship internationally. Although unfortunately we cannot offer free shipping for orders outside of Canada and the U.S. An integrated shopping cart will come in the future. We are first seeing how successful litecoin will be on our website, this is how we started with bitcoin as well. Thanks for your questions.

Any chance you'll be listing some fine men's watches any time soon?

And, by "fine men's watches," I mean watches with lots of precious metal, diamonds, and other sparkly things  Cheesy

This could be a strong possibility in the future. We do plan on bringing luxury watches into our fold.

Thanks for all the support so far guys, we are happy to say we have made our first EVER sale with litecoins and have received many positive comments from litecoin and bitcoin users on our website! Thanks.

Congratulations! It's good to know my litecoins can actually buy something tangible should I so desire, and aren't just good for pure speculation or buying bitcoins.

Thanks for your support! We are hoping this move will make the litecoin community a little stronger. We are happy to do our part.

I wanted to buy a silver round with litecoin, but I didn't see that option at the check out. Only bitcoin, paypal and CC??

At the moment you can visit this page (http://www.allthingsluxury.biz/BitcoinLitecoin.html) it has all the details on how to checkout via litecoins. At the moment litecoin payments are made by a manual checkout process (ie you pick what you want and contact either via our website or on these forums via a message) similar to if you visited a physical store. This is how we started with bitcoin and them moved to a integrated shopping cart experience as it became more popular.

We have actually made 3 litecoin sales today alone and they were not small by any means! Thanks for your support guys.

Luck indicates that our concious decisions to take a chance on an unproven technology did not play a role.

There are plenty of people who have heard of Bitcoin that have dismissed it and missed out on this "luck".

EXACTLY. I already have people telling me "You just got lucky, blah blah blah". NO, FUCK YOU, you guys knew about bitcoin the moment I did, but unlike me, you brushed it off as not being worth your time/effort/investment, where I saw the potential and got busy.

I didn't sit on my ass playing games and stuffing my face, I hustled with with all the research, planning, trouble shooting, months of free time eaten away fiddling with overheated rigs and overloaded power lines, not to mention the cost of the whole operation, and now that my payoff is more than your net worth, you to write is off as "luck"? Fuck off you lazy hippie.

/rant

Indeed. Give it some time and your reward will be more than their not annual but lifetime salary. And they will never admit that you had enough brain to recognize merits of a new singularity on intersection of many complex disciplines such as economics, politics, finance, cryptography and computer science. You not just had a brain to recognize it, you also had ball to act on it. You also had a heart to share it all with them. But chances are that they have belittled you as a small time pump and dumper and ponzy promoter. Whatever... their loss.

Hear hear!
