Yes, that's what I am saying. If, by lowering fees, we see a large increase in transactions, then it will be worth it to lower fees. The question is, will we see that large of an increase right now? If not, then it may be too early to do so.

That's my point we won;t see large transaction increases because someone is not gonna waste 1 Nxt just to send a simple msg.

the cheaper it is for the user the more they will use the service.....period.

Exactly my point, too.

Also, people like to communicate.
They love to send people chatter.

Give them the ability to do so, and I bet you that transactions will take off.
And Nxt is about transactions.

There is a feature that is usuable, so make it easy and cheap to use.
That's all I am saying.

Community should vote using the ... oh wait...  Kiss

I am for putting it to a vote. The poll will run for 1 week on both Nextcoin & Nxtcrypto.org forums.

I can organize the polls on both forums.

POLL QUESTION: SHOULD WE LOWER TRANSACTION FEE TO 0.01 Nxt?

Can you, when putting it to the vote, also explain why?
Otherwise we will just get Yes from the small accounts and No from the Forging accounts.
People should vote on the fact that this lowering of the fees is proposed to increase the general worth of the system, not because of their wallets NOW.

Just want to throw something in the discussion.

Now that AM is here and other functions like voting are coming clients are being made (even the very basic ones), wouldn't it be a good idea to lower fees on that rather quickly?

I feel that adoption of Nxt will be far better served by use than by lower prices of Nxt so people can get thousands and thousands.

The value of anything is determined by it's usefulness anyway.

So, if for instance, if AM would cost 0,01 Nxt for a message, even someone with one Nxt from the faucet would be able to get some actual use out of his Nxt (100 messages for FREE, WOO! Wink)

Also, we might be seeing transactions go up, although I see that with the current block creation times, that may also create irritation at this moment?

My main point however is to look to fee lowering as a way to throw Nxt more open in the future instead of the market price. The fees are what determine how much use you can get out of one Nxt, thus determining the value of that Nxt?

Good idea of just plain idiocy?

give them all 5k

I agree. Also, promoters like myself and Damelon (Nxt Netherlands) who are spearheading NXT into our respective countries should not be left out. Heck, our websites are even listed in the first post.

The use of 64 bit encryption for 0 transactions account is a CHOICE by BCnext. It was designed to be bruteforcable.
Only one outgoing transaction and the account is 256 bit encrypted forever.

The goal is to allow NXT to be minable in the future. All DarkNXT are not lost forever and will be recoverable with enough haspower  (in 10 years with specific ASICS, 50 years with gpu or whatever it take with cpu. The main point is to make those coin not lost forever)

Can you imagine a scammer putting such a ridiculous amount of thought into every subtle little nuance of his invention? If he was going to fleece us would he have really needed that ABSURD level of attention to detail? If nxt is a scam it will have to go down in history as THE most ridiculously elaborate and well thought out scam in the history of the world. Cheesy

OCD? ;-)

I've decided to start an item called Bitcointalk Summaries on my blog, so people can just take a glance at those and see what the hell happened that day.

I think it will give some feeling that we are taking steps forward and that Nxt is going places.

I trawl these pages daily anyway, so I might as well make it more productive  Cheesy

Don't sell NXTs so cheap.

Sorry, nothing personal, but I really had to laugh hard when reading this.

After two weeks of "Why is it so expensive?", the price is dropping, we have a cheap sale and now this.

I am officially baffled.

Vircurex Considering NXT

Is it good for the price or bad?

Focus on the product not the price - a good product will end up being worth a good price.

We have chicken-egg problem here, imho. Higher price will attract more devs => better the product will be.

In this case, I think it's more to the advantage of Nxt that it has a "known" exchange connected to it.
That will inspire more trust and thus make the way free for a better price.

Did you know? On 22 December 2013 were created 12 aliases with a word "f*ck" in it, but word "f*ck" was registered next day?
 Cool

Were these registered by the account that registered almost all the pornsite names?

Oh, and basically all sexual actions that are covered in porn?  Cheesy

Not all, I tried to grab some, too Smiley
Porn is money! Porn is continous. There is no Porn2, iPorn2 or Porn360. Just porn. And that makes it such a big business to own domains (and hopefully aliases) associated with porn/sex Smiley

I only know because I tried to grab them, too, but was two days too late Wink

NXT NEWSLETTER

On the subject of info getting lost and most of us spending hours after hours on catching up on bitcointalk, nxtcoin.org, forum.nxtcrypto +

I have the time to tie a newsletter together a week - if somebody is willing to help me with info. I don't have the time anymore to trawl all the NXT-threads, but I can gather, sample and send the updates out, if I am feeded a resume from the different sources of information.

NXTers on the mailing list will then get a chance to focus on their own battleground, while still getting the most important headlines from every other field of the NXT development (with links to the sources). Personally I like being up to date - also in the fields I am not capable of contributing to. And another plus: Important announcements for the community can easier reach everybody via a maillinglist.

We need at least one person from:
- Bitcointalk (main thread + various others)
- Nextcoin forum
- Forum.nxtcrypto
to join this project and "feed" the newsletter resumes.
Info sent directly from developers or marketeers is of course also welcomed.

I don't have a thing (or NXT  Smiley) to give you in return, but contributors will get their acc number on their contributions - and more importantly right now: Help to organize the NXT stream of info.

/apenzl

I had very same thought couple days back. I want to help as well... perhaps we can create mailinglist subscription and start sending weekly news... 3 person can make/collect a reasonable weekly mail and send out interested parties

Great! So now we are 2 already! Smiley

I figured there might be lurkers on every thread who could gather and send a weekly resumé to the newsletter. There more people the marrier. More decentralized, yes. People like smaragda on the source code thread, perhaps? *blink blink*  Roll Eyes (no pressure intended)  Grin

This is kind of scary, because I wanted to start a daily summary service for this thread on my blog at the Dutch nxtcoins.nl.
I'll probably still do that, as Dutch people need info, too, but it means I'm gathering topics anyway, so I'm available to help, too.

https://www.newaltex.com/ is finally taking off a bit.
this exchange has similar look as Dgex, imo , Graviton's plan B ?
EDIT: or at least same level...

Also, Nxt is being listed on the Dutch portal to Cryptsy: http://www.coinbeurs.nl/
Nxt is also being discussed on the biggest IT/Geeks site of the Netherlands Tweakers.net, but not in a good way (although some people there have stakes).

I was wondering where the boost in traffic to my site was coming from Smiley

any discussion is a god discussion , you think Bitcoin wasn’t criticised in the earliest days ?)

First: no, just someone who first wanted the code in place and didn't put in looks first Wink

Two, agreed. I have no worries about criticism, anyway. Mostly, it's healthy.

a nice article:
A New Wave of 2nd Generation Cryptocurrencies: NXT, eMunie, SkyCoin, EarthCoin
http://alunacrypto.blogspot.cz/2013/12/a-new-wave-of-2nd-generation.html

Found some distressing news about emunie developer https://ripple.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5399

Seems he is a known scammer, but it is all third hand, so best if you make your own conclusions. Seems to be very suspicious that the presale was closed based on the reason that trolls took up too much of his time. Huh?

If anybody knows of a serious competitor to NXT, please post about it. Need to know what the competition is up to. At this point, I am putting emunie in the potential competitor category. Until there is an open beta and/or open src, it could all be vaporware for all we know. Has anybody here actually used the beta of emunie?

James

I'm going to conclude that eMunie (scam or not) is toast. Dead. Not happening.
Just read Fuserleers (eMunies lead dev/creator/lord of all creation) post here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412118.0

The tl:dr version is that eMunie will not launch on schedule because fuserleer is upset by the trolls.
It's a very bad sign for eMunies credibility that one guy can derail what is potentially a massive project because he's a bit upset by criticism.
(...)

How you call in english a person who repeat anonimous accusations without checking them?

I understand that it is a real war with big money on stake but seriously how big thoughtless ignorant you should be to repeat such things? You don't get that it is attack on a real person damaging his reputation?

Here is Dan responce: http://forum.emunie.com/index.php?/topic/36-hi-im-dan/

Internet is part of ppl's real lifes. Recall it yourself next time seeing someone attacking NXT in the same nasty manner...

There is a lot of nasty attacks, blackmails on all altcoins with potential to surpass Bitcoin and change the world. There are real cyberattacks on dgex and NXT infrastructure and reputation too so you should see that this is part of something big is going on here.

If you want all of them to survive and be still free of take over / killing them attempts remember that we all are on the same board! And when one is attacked all of us are damaged and targeted.

Can we have clear that that post is not made on behalf of Nxt?
One of the main devs of Nxt has posted most kindly about Dan more than once in this thread.
You're picking a fight in the wrong place.

Important question that just popped into my head:

Are we going to capitalise NXT or just use Nxt or even nxt ?
As u can see, i like the capitals.

I'll throw a poll up on Nxtcrypto for this, wait a bit......

I read that as "are we going to capitalise on Nxt"  Cheesy

Ontopic: I use Nxt all the time, but NXT makes it appropriately in your face. Just a bit harder to type all the time.
