1502  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the difference between bitcoin and crypto? on: December 29, 2022, 10:54:42 PM
hi friends everyone? This is my first post, and I'm not experienced in the world of crypto. I want to ask, what's the difference between bitcoin and crypto? I hope all my friends can explain to me,,?

Yeah, I wouldn’t bother to add to the list of explanations differentiating between cryptocurrency and bitcoin. And I’m confident that with these explanations, your question is answered.
I just want to quickly point out that among all the numerous coins that is grouped as cryptocurrencies, bitcoin reigns supreme and should be what you should be focused on now. All other alternate coins are as risky as they come and is better left alone.
While learning more about bitcoin, I think it’s noteworthy to stress the point that exchanges are never safe to keep and store your bitcoins.
1503  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid running into financial ruin this Christmas! on: December 29, 2022, 10:36:55 PM
Well, I think it is too late for such advice now. Everyone who wanted to spend money on Christmas has already done so, since it is getting close to Christmas around the world. But hey, at least we can all learn from our mistakes and make a plan to have a more financially responsible holiday season next year!

Merry Christmas to you too!
Very late. I am seeing this post today being 28th and I have already spent alot. But whatever Op said in the post is correct and should be followed going forward.
I discovered that this period comes with alot of expenses, both necessary and unnecessary ones.
Then the month of January user to be longer than other months and there used to be less money in circulation because people will start to hoard money and begin make fresh calculations for the upper year.

I think it’s never too late and besides, it’s better late than never right?
The OP created this thread on the 24th and you seeing it on the 28th and having spent a whole lot already is no fault of anyone but yourself. The month of January is no doubt a busy month filled with bills and preparations and plans for a variety of things. And for a lot of families, after spending a considerable amount of money during the festive period, money would be real tight.

I think a better topic head should be to avoid falling into financial ruin ever cause of reckless spending. Cause someone could run into financial ruin at any time and not just during the Christmas holidays.

1506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you taken lessons? on: December 29, 2022, 06:14:03 AM
I wouldn’t exactly express any rage for the year 2022. The year, like every other year had its ups and downs and I would like to always look on the bright side.
What I have especially learned this year is not to put and leave your funds into any exchanges as we’ve seen exchanges come out all strong and later fold up taking peoples money along with them. Sadly this year, people learnt the hard way about exchanges with the demise of FTX. Hopefully, that would be the wake up call some people desperately need.
1507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 28, 2022, 08:36:54 PM
The game between Leeds United and Manchester City is about 20 minutes into the game and we haven't seen any action yet. Manchester City is a team that can win with great results, but lately it has also become increasingly common that they have not been able to break pots at half-time and that it is still 0-0. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw another goal at half-time and that they hit the accelerator a little deeper in the 2nd half. They don't have to take irresponsible risks with this team at the moment. I see John Stones in the back, who is not normally in the base in that position, is he?

We’re now in the 31th minute and still no action in the form of a goal yet. Manchester City is favored to win the match as Leeds United would likely not stand a chance to win the game against the superior Manchester City. Hopefully, there’s still some time left in the first half of the game to see some action.
I actually don’t see Leeds winning the game but I’ve been wrong before and I may be wrong today though highly unlikely. Manchester City is on top of the game and the obvious stronger of the two. If the first half doesn’t present any goal, the second half would be more exciting and would definitely give us a more needed goal to get the game going.
1508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if the government of a country is irresponsible? on: December 28, 2022, 07:55:41 PM
You mentioned and implied that a government is irresponsible if it issues a large amount of its currency to buy bitcoin. I don’t think that could be classified as being irresponsible. People, corporations put their funds into different investments that they feel would bring in profits either in the short or long run.
Inflation is rising slowly and if a government prints more money in order to service its international debts and “fight inflation”, then they’re being highly irresponsible. Printing more money to service debts would only create more problems for the country and definitely increase the inflation rate that they say they want to fight to reduce.
1509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Small Scale Businesses should accept Cryptocurrencies as a medium of payment on: December 28, 2022, 07:26:42 PM
Having extra payment methods are always great no matter what they are. It is not about really a crypto payment thing, it's about the fact that if you accept credit card, wire transfer, paypal, payoneer, crypto and many other things then you are offering people more chance to accept it.

Even gift cards are accepted in some places, I have this shirt company that accepts amazon gift cards as well, they literally take regular amazon gift cards, usually it's not an even number, so that means you buy 140 dollar worth stuff and pay 100 dollar with amazon gift card, and 40 with credit card, but it works. So, it's always better to provide more payment options.

In a business, It’s always nice and advantageous in my opinion to have various means of receiving payment for services rendered from customers. The more the merrier right? You’ll be giving a wide variety of people the opportunity to be able to pay with whatever means they’re comfortable with.
A small business that would be able to accept payment methods including accepting payment in bitcoin would, in my opinion help grow the business as people that are willing to pay with their preferred means(eg. Bitcoin) would be attracted to the business cause of its acceptance of bitcoin as a payment method.
1510  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you ready to spend crypto when market is down on: December 28, 2022, 06:43:11 PM
In my opinion when the market is down like right know Im not going to spend it my crypto unless using if for daily purposes like withdrawing the crypto for a monthly bill. the best time when the market is down is to accumulate more coin and token stake it and enjoy when the bullish month coming.
A market downturn is the best time to accumulate more cryptocurrency than to spend it faster, let alone sell at a low price. Be patient and wait for the market to recover and start reaping the really big rewards from it.

When there is a downtrend in the price of bitcoin or any alt coin, that is the best time to buy more. But an individual could only buy more bitcoin when there is extra income available. For someone that has a single source of income, it would be extremely difficult to be patient and to wait for the market to recover and bounce back to reap any reward from it.
When an individual has an extra source of income, only then could you comfortably accumulate and hold your bitcoins when the market is down till when the market bounces back and rises. You wouldn’t have to convert your satoshi to fiat to pay for bills or anything of the sort.
1511  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid running into financial ruin this Christmas! on: December 28, 2022, 12:22:55 AM
Online shopping could increase the spending with majority of the users. Maybe little would be exceptional to spend little shopping online. Making someone to shop for us could lower the spending, because we just list out the need and our requirements will be bought. Spending excessive is big problem considering the ongoing economic downturn. For a long we're supposed to limit our spending and this is particularly for the upper middle class and the poor ones.

I must admit, for some, doing your online shopping isn’t always ideal. Some folks like to see and feel and somewhat inspect whatever they’re purchasing.
Shopping online could make an unrestrained person spend more than necessary as you use minimal effort in shopping. You could see things you never bargained for and would click away adding irrelevant things to your cart. I think having some sort of discipline when spending money is valuable.
And yes, giving someone a list and having them shop for you would help limit or curb our excessive spending habits.
1512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: December 28, 2022, 12:00:01 AM

Among the 10 opening matches that will start tomorrow according to my time zone, maybe these 2 matches are the ones I'm most looking forward to. Because it's still quite a long time ago, before this, there were still no matches that caught my attention. The end of the year is certainly important for both Real Madrid and Barcelona to collect points.

Barcelona seems to need to maintain the standings even longer, and have a capital of 2 points which is not too difficult for Real Madrid to chase, so the match against Espanyol must be put to good use.

Yeah, these matches would be a must watch. It would be great to watch Barcelona play and I would love to watch them play as well as Real Madrid. I think Barcelona is more likely to win their match against Valladolid as they’ve got great and some young players also.
I think Lewandoski could still prove to be a valuable asset to Barcelona and help the club to score more goals and win matches. It would be a great game to watch as well as Real Madrids.
1513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 27, 2022, 11:31:27 PM
It looks like Manchester United will really reach its golden age with its current young players. the goal scored is clearly a very high-quality goal for the 3 players who are now in the spotlight. I am quite satisfied with the points Man United got today. 3 points are enough to make them potentially seize Tottenham's position in the standings. It is possible that with the current solid composition of the game, Erik Ten Hag is getting more confident.

Manchester United is in top form and their gameplay is constantly improving. With some of its players freshly coming back from playing in the World Cup, top notch experience has been gained hence the improved performance of the club. Hopefully, they would continue in their winning ways and go into and stay in the enviable top four spot on the premier league table.
With the exit of Ronaldo from the club, I was still confident that Manchester United would not really miss him and would continue to play great football even without him on the squad. With their recent game, they’re starting to prove me right. Great game for Manchester United
1514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin decimals. Is 1.00000000 Bitcoin the same as 1.000000000000 Bitcoin? on: December 27, 2022, 10:57:37 PM
With decimals, 1.000 is still the same as 1.00000000000. One bitcoin is still one bitcoin. I think It doesn’t matter the numbers of zero attached after the decimal point. And I don’t see two decimals being in the same figures (eg. 1.231.907). 1.000 is the same as 1 with a million zeros after the decimal. It’s still 1.
There are 21 million bitcoin available in the world today and the addition of decimals, no matter how many, would not increase nor decrease the amount of bitcoin left.

1515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: December 27, 2022, 10:28:20 PM
This is a difficult question to ask especially when we don't trust our wife. Depending on the settings of the family the wife might not have good idea of the cryptocurrency and how the market works. Even though we tell our wife about our seed phrase they may not know the importance because of lack of knowledge about how the crypto market works.

It’s not really a difficult question. The bottom line here is all about trust which you clearly do not have for your spouse. I think trust is very essential before going into a marriage agreement with your spouse. How could you live with someone presumably for the rest of your mortal life without having trust in the person? That’s crazy.
I think having a spouse that you could trust enough to share your seed phrase is important and no big deal. It all depends on the trust levels in the relationship.
Don’t assume that cause the person is a female, she won’t be knowledgeable about bitcoin. I’ve met a lot of crypto enthusiasts who are females.
1516  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: December 27, 2022, 02:18:57 PM
Because the poorer you are, the more vulnerable you are to accidents and serious illnesses; the poorer you are, the more you cannot afford to lose in the investment market; Only by working hard can you live the life you want; the poorer you are, the more lack of financial and business education and limited thinking, the more you need to fill up the shortcomings through self-education; the poorer you are, the earlier you have to start doing everything well Prepare.

Yes, the poorer you get, Thor more vulnerable an individual is to accidents and all that. The individual is struggling to stay afloat and can barely afford groceries and utility bills. They live paycheck to paycheck and can barely afford to have any savings. All these would certainly have an effect on the individuals mentally. He barely has enough to eat so he would most likely not want to listen to anything that would entail him parting away with his funds. I understand and would excuse that behavior. Financial education along with entrepreneurship and skill acquisition is very important now as it was then.
1517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 26, 2022, 10:47:57 PM
With 3 goals in 15 minutes approximately, Arsenal managed to win West Ham. So far they are doing good and making things harder for City to catch them.
In another game, Liverpool won as expected vs Aston Villa and interestingly with 3 goals. Meanwhile, Spurs saved the day by getting 1 point after being 2 goals behind Brentford!

Although Arsenal were losing at the end of the first half, throughout the game they showed to be superior to West Ham. Ending up turning the result around in the second half. They are really to be congratulated, and if they continue, they have all the conditions to win the Premier League this year. For me the best player was Saka, who is playing very well, he is a fundamental player for Arsenal.

Now the pressure is on City, who have to win tomorrow to keep up with Arsenal. But, I believe they will win with some naturalness.

Arsenal were indeed losing at the beginning of the first half and into the half time. But in my opinion, Arsenal were the dominant team in the game as they pressed West Ham throughout the first half of the game but ended up with no goals for their effort.
The second half started with a buzz and goals started pouring in. Arsenal increased the pressure on the game and was rewarded with enough goals to go ahead and win the game. With Arsenals gameplay, it isn’t surprising that they won the game comfortably.
1518  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid running into financial ruin this Christmas! on: December 26, 2022, 09:33:51 PM
Therefore it is necessary to manage the allocation of funds for certain celebrations. So well organized, I do it ahead of time by saving up for some holiday lists. So avoiding waste is my way of coping with spending. Actually, there is nothing special about celebrating now, maybe many people realize that at this time facing next year it is necessary to have an emergency fund rather than having to spend it in one day.
That is correct.
I have now stopped going to the market because when you go there you buy unnecessarily and then you repent because you have over spent. I have no control over myself when I am in mall. The best practice is to stay at home and spend some time on work desk so to earn some money.

If you have got little or no self control when going shopping anywhere, then you should get someone to do the shopping for you in order to curb excessive spending. I can understand spending more than expected when going shopping as things that aren’t exactly needed or important at the moment would look attractive to the eyes and you’ll end up buying it. That’s why you have to have moderation in everything including your spending habits.
You could also shop online and add to your cart exactly what you need. I think that could help in curbing your excessive spending habits.
1519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 26, 2022, 08:47:41 PM
Arsenal is really on top of the game and really pressing against their opponents. West Ham is currently winning the game agents Arsenal by a goal. The half time is around the corner and while Arsenal is currently playing superbly and pressing their opponents, they’re currently trailing the game.

Arsenal would probably and hopefully bounce back in the second half and probably score goals to go ahead and win the game. They’re currently playing really well. The premier league is back and getting more exciting
1520  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 26, 2022, 07:57:42 PM
The thing about humans is - our desire is unsatiable, the more we earn the more will our needs and desire increases. One can easily believe they can save 1k or more monthly when they earn up to 3k a month. The only way to be able to achieve this is to be self-disciplined and determined, once anyone is able to implement this, this goal can be achieved.

Human wants are insatiable and very numerous. Humans can’t just be satisfied and would always want more. And that’s why we should always have some sort of savings that should be kept aside for emergencies.
I also believe discipline in the manner an individual spends matters a lot also. Someone must be disciplined in order to minimize the way money is spent. If an individual is disciplined in the way he spends, then and only then would there would be room for savings to commence.
