1501  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who can answer a simple question? on: August 01, 2023, 12:56:01 PM
I am yet to see a politician that doesn't tell lies. It is as if telling lies is part of the job of a politician. Well, they will justify it with the saying that it is not possible to please everyone,  hence the reason they all lie at some point.

Well, I think Putin might lie in other occasion but he said he will attack Ukraine and he did... that seems to be truth from him.
1502  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Short holder and long holder who profit most? on: August 01, 2023, 09:56:13 AM
I agree with you that long time holding is good and highly profitable. It also save you the stress and time of checking your portfolio every now and then.

The only area I have also noticed is that, for a market that is consolidating like we have now, short term traders make so much profit buying and selling in a range. By the time they do this repeatedly, they would have made much more profits than those holding for long. But this require so much experience and discipline.

Las Las, it boils down to what you are comfortable with and whatever suit your risk appetite.
1503  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin is Good but it cannot replace our Naira on: July 31, 2023, 10:23:59 PM
Where Bitcoin wan from take replace Naira? The best wey fit happen with Bitcoin is for people and businesses to dey use am as payment option, I mean together  with other ways of payment.

The thing dey surprise me when people only put plenty attention for Bitcoin as a currency without paying attention to wetin we fit achieve through the technology wey dey behind am wey be Blockchain. For instance,  the technology done prove to be very effective in security,  medicine and other areas. If we fit put eye take study and research how we go take apply the technology wey dey behind Bitcoin for our institution,  I believe say e go help us wella.
1504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about iris scanner scenario in worldcoin network? on: July 31, 2023, 02:11:17 PM
What I understand about this Worldcoin is all about privacy harvesting.  I don't see the motive of the creator and financiers of this project to be in the interest of humanity. So, the iris scan might just be harvesting biometric data of certain percentage of human population to be used for future purposes which we do not know yet.
1505  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN NEED NEW MONEY AS MUCH AS HALVING TO SEE SUSTAINED HIGH PRICES on: July 31, 2023, 12:45:32 PM
Something I do ask myself each time we expect a rally: where will this cash come from?

For retail, disposable income only happens if there is no economic crisis -- even Covid itself wasn't so bad with most buyers spending relief money -- those who didn't get it or who suffered weren't Bitcoin buyers anyway. But the still-rising inflation and yet-known crisis impact worries me. Then again, maybe retail is no longer important. Institutionals? They never have issues raising cash. You've got free fit printing, magical debt creation, liquidation of other assets, and oh, even made-up stablecoins. That could all flow into Bitcoin.

You captured the views of the OP correctly as your concerns are in line with what I understand to be his/hers. Bitcoin has obviously gone to institutional level and there is no doubt institutional funds are what is driving the market at present. Nevertheless, the uncertainty in the global financial systems such as domineering moves by the west, resistance by BRICS nation and others might actually present Bitcoin as a suitable alternative to many international investors as opposed to the secular believe in gold.

1507  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Common crypto scam in Nigeria on: July 31, 2023, 11:32:44 AM
Thanks for sharing this; it will really help a lot of people. One popular scam you omitted and which I have fallen victim of before is done in Telegram. There you have a group of Nigerians create a Telegram group and start adding people at random. You will see them trading among themselves in BTC, PayPal, PerfectMoney, GiftCard others via the admins at a rate agreed by the buyer and seller which is supposedly better than what you will get in other places.. You will rarely know that they are working together until you try to trade there... they will scam you and block you from the group immediately. As a victim, I just used it as one of the price to pay to learn.

There are others such as 86FB, 86W and others that used sport betting as their format. They even promised a risk free venture to get the attention of a lot of people including me. Although these have crashed but they really obtained people a lot before they did.

With my experience in those scams, I usually advice people to be careful with anything that offers too much profits over little effort.

1508  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 100K FOR 2024 ! on: July 30, 2023, 06:15:10 AM
~
Will the deadman's zone theory hold up this time or not?  The answer to that question is still to be seen...and I doubt that it is even an all or nothing bet... maybe it just slightly increases the odds that the price will pass through the zone without correcting?
I don't know much about this deadman's zone that you're talking about, it's my first hearing these but I assume that it's a plateau in the market that you're talking about or something like a price ceiling breaking idk. You pretty much answered your question regarding the theory ever holding up in your first statement. New ATH brings new deadman zones which means that the previous deadman zone is broken and that the next one won't be or there's really no deadman's zone, it's just a bunch of people believing that bitcoin will hit X price range but got disappointed because it didn't reach what they expected it to reach.
Of course, every single time that there is a price rise that gets close to or exceeds the prior ATH can be different.

I believe that I have adequately described what I meant.. which is largely the idea that the BTC price passes through prices around the old ATH with very little resistance.. and sure there can be resistance, but there is a tendency for there not to be resistance.  You can look at the ATH of $32 from 2011, the ATHs of $263 and $1,163 of 2013, the ATH of $19,666 from 2017, and so now the new ATH is $69k... and let's see what happens?  You want to fuck around with selling too much bitcoin between $55k and $85k, then good luck with that because those prices are likely pass through zones, and also no guarantees, so you can do what you like in terms of managing any BTC sales that you might make and if you expect to be able to have any potential of buying them back, especially if you sell within the deadman's zone.

Are you feeling lucky, punk?

Good analysis I must admit. From technical point of view, we are on our way up and the wise thing to do now for anyone who believe in this technology is to accumulate more.

Furthermore, I feel we need more uses for BTC to be fully confident in what we are projecting. More people and institutions have to see the need to integrate cryptocurrency payments systems conveniently. This comes with more effort and this is where those of us who believe in this technology have put effort at educating people in this regard.

In all, I truly feel lucky to have joined early!
1509  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / GOOD NEWS: CBN DIRECT BANKS TO LIFT RESTRICTIONS ON CRYPTO RELATED ACCOUNTS on: July 28, 2023, 05:58:29 PM
My people, una don hear say CBN don direct all banks to lift all the restrictions wey them sama give some accounts wey dey do business in cryptocurrency and other finTech. To me. This na better news for us wey dey for the crypto industry.

Make una no forget say, the action of CBN be slow down cryptocurrency businesses and activities for our country as many people who for dey use crypto come dey comot body to avoid wahala from our government. Even GTB been carry the matter for head come dey close account of people wey them notice say na crypto or forex them dey do.   But as e be say them don give greenlight say people dey free to use crypto, we go dey expect say crypto will have greater penetration for our country and that na good thing.

This na the article for people wey wan read the full gist:
https://www.primebusiness.africa/cbn-orders-nigerian-banks-to-lift-restriction-on-accounts-of-crypto-other-firms/

My people how una see the matter?
1510  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: TRADE VS HODL, make we avoid wahala. on: July 28, 2023, 05:50:20 PM
If you check the headache wey dey for trading, you go kuku just hold. If you no take time, you fit dey loose your money from trading but we all know say if you hodl, you go always make good returns as the price go eventually go up.

Besides, you no need spend so much time on the chart or watching the market if you decide to hodl. So, for my kind of person, I rather hodl than trade.
1511  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Naija board needs more merit source on: July 28, 2023, 05:40:20 PM
My own na question I wan ask. How Theymos go fit understand wetin wey dey talk for here base on say na pidgin we dey use dey discuss this matter?
1512  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Wetin you for do as a Nigerian? on: July 28, 2023, 01:09:23 AM
My fellow country people, make una follow me reason this tory wey I carry come maybe one or two person fit learn how to be safe as a Nigerian.

One day you come outside make you for feed your eyes small for wetin street dey talk, you come see say two people dey pursue one guy man say him na thief. True true the guy na thief and na expensive item him steal for one store. As him dey run, luck no too follow am, so them come catch am and na so him start to beg. You dey one corner dey observe as them start to beat am, the guy dey beg but them no gree. You come start to dey go closer make you for observe everything better and see weda na person wey you know and if you fit put mouth beg too; other people too don dey face that side as e dey be na when people hear noise. But as you don dey near there, one of the people wey catch am wey happen to be the owner of the shop come carry something hit the thief, na so the thief voice loss... him no dey move or talk again! By this time, you don dey very close to them when you observe say them don knack the thief something wey strong wey fit mean say the guy don kpeme, but you never confirm sha o. Immediately, you come match break, come reverse and begin to discharge for the area, as a Nigeria make wetin you no know no put you for wahala.

If e  happen say true true the guy die and camera dey somewhere wey capture everything and all the people wey dey near the area as e happen... and e come be say you comot for the area run go your house, base on Nigeria system, you dey free or you no dey free? If the person no dey free, wetin be the right thing wey the person suppose do? Remember o, them never confirm say the person don die... you just observe as they knack am and as him no dey move or talk again, and you take off immediately.
1513  Other / Politics & Society / What factors affect life expectancy? on: July 24, 2023, 05:32:11 PM
Life expectancy is the average number of years people live within a society. It varies from countries and regions. It is as high as 87 years in some countries and as low as 56 years in some. The leading countries in high life expectancy include South korea, France, Japan and some other Asian countries. Many factors play a role with the key among them being pollution, habits and sometimes, culture.

However,  it seems there should be more that affect life expectancy that I would love to know. Let's discuss.
1514  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Altcoins Speculation thread: What projects are you observing to invest & why. on: July 24, 2023, 05:07:27 PM
Una Good day oh, just as the market dun dey turn green small small, the whole altcoins bullrun talks dun dey come back. I just dey scroll over twitter and na so so speculations I dey see over there. I say make I bring this opportunity to the house so we fit share one or two projects wey we dey personally dey look into wey be say we we love. Before I go forward, I just wan use this opportunity use warn everybody, make you no take the suggestions wey you dey see here as investment advise. None of use qualify to advise you on how to invest as we just just dey talk from our own mind, on how we dey see the particular project. Wetin I invest in succeed fit no be wetin go blow you therefore always do your own personal research and make sure na you dey take the decision to invest and not following anybody blindly.

Also make sure you get security in Bitcoin, asin before you dey wan invest in any altcoins, make sure you get Bitcoin as na the only reliable cryptocurrency be dat and no be joke. Every other coin fit just disappear from the market but Bitcoin na baba and him no dey go anywhere. Lastly no forget to take profits, no go believe any altcoins die. Next ten years, you dey see that coin wey everybody dey dread, e fit be say him dun die or nobody dey reason am again, so no marry any cryptocurency, just see them as partway to your financial freedom and use their heads.

Now to my projects of interest, I get two for mind wey I dey observe very carefully, they're ETH and BNB. My speculations are atleast 10x for each of this coins which means the least 10k investment na 100k cashout etc. Why I dey monitor this two be say Ethereum obviously go dominate the space again since Solana dun dey shake and BNB go follow am for back and if the government no go over attack BNB and with all the burning then dey do, $3k per BNB go dey very possible by 2025 and $10k ETH. Wetin you think about this prediction and wetin be your own or any other coin wey dey ur mind, wetin be your prediction come next bull cycle.

Bitcoin is a sure one and good for people wey get plenty money. For those wey get small money, I feel say some altcoins them fit dey good because if you are lucky you fit get  coin wey go give you x10 when BTC still dey consolidate. The problem be say, risk plenty for altcoins so it is good to do tight research before choosing.

Personally, I dey look at $Life Crypto.  Na GDA Captial get am and them dey build wallet wey go dey like Metamask and wey fit do plenty other things wey Metamask no fit do. So, I get some confidence say this one go pay but make you do your own research before you enter o...
1515  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: OUT OF SCHOOL CHILDREN, A THREAT NOT GETTING MUCH ATTENTION on: July 24, 2023, 10:17:08 AM
How do we grow and how would her youths have this energetic power to develop love and passion for education since their leaders has already compromised the entire system?

I think this is the most important factor discouraging people from going to school... the leaders have bastardized the system. When you look at the lives and achievement of those who are graduate in Nigeria, you will be so discouraged because majority of the graduates succeeded from their personal effort not that the system made it possible that when you graduate, there is a place for you.

On the other hand, many employed graduates are under employed and this practically make them live from hand to mouth. So, the younger once seeing this would rather opt for other options rather than aspire to be like their educated brothers wey nothin come out.

But in all, education is not really that bad as it forms the foundation upon which every other thing is built. We should still encourage our brothers and systems to at least get the basic education before venturing into any other thing they consider interesting to them.
1516  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / OUT OF SCHOOL CHILDREN, A THREAT NOT GETTING MUCH ATTENTION on: July 23, 2023, 02:05:44 PM
My fellow country people, it took me time to gather the courage to post this here and my motive is to encourage us to help in our own little ways in creating awareness and support... just maybe we can fight this without waiting for government alone.

Anytime them mentioned out of school children, people mind dey easily go to Northern Nigeria but e go shock you to know say the reality for Southern Nigeria dey troubling as out of school children is a threat in Southern Nigeria as much as it is in Northern Nigeria.

According to UNESCO report of 2022, over 20 million Nigerian children are out of school. But from my findings and recent happenings, the number is far more than this. UNESCO will use poverty, insecurity and other parameters to do their statistics. Unfortunately, their is a new trend that is taking children, especially those between the ages of 14 to 18,  out of school which no one is paying attention to.  This is call quest for money and easy life. We all are aware of the Word " education is a scam". Indeed, this word is eating deep into our youths and the reality of our country is substantiating their claim. I did a random sampling in Port Harcourt few weeks ago, I was shocked to see the number of young boys including girls who willingly stopped going to school and decided to focus on learning how to "press", socialize and blend. The thing be say, depending on your approach, they are not hiding it... they willingly give you the info with pride. This G-boys something and runs now make education look like a long distance quest.

How did we get here? Who is to blame for this? What will be the future of our country where education is not a priority? How do we tackle this because where there is a disconnect in learning something good for humanity,  the knowledge for the wrong will surely increase and this will put all of us at risk.
Make we reason on ways we can help as we cannot leave everything for government.

NB: I don search this board for this kind of topic but I no see any. In case person been don post am, abeg make una pardon me and draw my attention to it.
1517  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: We suppose get FG recognized bitcoin association for Nigeria. on: July 21, 2023, 11:20:37 AM
If I ask you to tell me if Bitcoin is legally recognized in Nigeria, can you be so confident to say yes? As a matter of fact, the body language of CBN does not show that they are comfortable with crypto at the moment rather they see it as a threat as it reduces their control and power. So, If government have not openly supported Bitcoin as a legal tender, I don't see how they will recognize any organization as you have proposed.

On the other hand, our country and government love trend so much... so if we put more effort at educating people and encouraging businesses to use and  accept cryptocurrency and it become a trend and common practice, I am confident our government will become to look in the direction of cryptocurrency.

1519  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profiting self trade or AI on: July 20, 2023, 03:59:14 PM
One of the greatest weakness of traders is emotion; human emotion always interfere with our judgement, this is why traders loose while using even a winning strategy. So I believe if AI is well trained on a proven winning strategy, the aspect of emotion will be eliminated and the result will be far better than human managing the trade.

The major challenge is that AI have not been proven to be adaptive as the market in itself changes over time. In all, suitability is the key as everyone will opt for what best work for them.
1520  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The Local Nigerians perception on cryptocurrency and online in General on: July 19, 2023, 09:18:14 AM
My brother, the thing tire me o. E don become general mindset for my side say anybody wey carry laptop na yahoo. Wetin people no know be say, plenty ways to use Internet make money dey outside from the illegal.

I no blame some of them sha because the so call G-boys sabi make noise wella so it is normal for the ignorant to think that way. People wey dey work hard to earn genuine money no dey make noise at all.

Finally, make we no let people Ignorance affect us so much as long as our conscience is clear that we are making clean money.
