1501  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Currency trading without knowledge on: February 17, 2023, 10:25:18 AM
In crypto trading, knowledge is essential.

Knowledge is essential for everything! OP presented some tips about where and how to start, but the bottom line is that we acquire knowledge from our experience... from reading, researching, practicing, etc. It takes time and effort to improve skills and sharpness.

Bottom line, trading without knowledge is like gambling, taking chance to be lucky to get profit.

Trading and gambling without knowledge are the same things... there are some "lucky hits" in trading and gambling, but chances to make a profit with random trading/gambling and without any knowledge are very very low. But people like to dream about easy money without any hard work...
1502  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 StarBets.io 🎲 || A Crypto-based iGaming Platform 🎲 on: February 17, 2023, 09:18:25 AM

What Starbets offers is exactly the welcome bonus. The first deposit bonus is only available to new users.

I didn't see this bonus when I joined (around 1 month ago) and it just popped up very recently. Were you able to win a nice prize on the wheel already? I have currently not a lot of time, but managed to win already 1 and 5 star tokens, it all adds up!

Do we have the same wheel? This is the first time that the wheel has crypto rewards, and I didn't win any Stars, only crypto:

It all adds up. I also don't have a lot of time for some serious "mining", but I make some Stars here and there, mostly with in-house games and div's money... the rewards are pretty nice.
1503  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic implications of a US-China-Taiwan conflict on: February 16, 2023, 10:33:54 PM
First of all I don't see such a thing happening anytime soon not in 2025 for sure...

And why are you so sure about that?

Here on the forum, we have zillion threads about how profitable is to invest in crypto/gold/real estate/oil/etc... but I guess that nothing beats investing in weapons! But what level do you need to be for that? Smiley

My point is simple! Too many weapons around... and demand for new and better ones is constantly increasing! But the old must be spent somewhere, and the new must be shown how it works, it will get a better price if it's tested in a real battle! So it's not a question will it happen, it's a question of where will it happen and when! And how big it can be... do you even know how many active conflicts there are around the world?

We want peace, but (globally) we produce/sell/buy more weapons than ever before. It's a bit contradictory from my point of view.
1504  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com 🔐 Icarus Poker Series | Discussion Thread ♠️♥️♣️♦️ on: February 16, 2023, 07:46:34 PM
I don't agree with "anyone can subscribe" I don't think it makes sense to me, in terms of a series of BitcoinPokerSeries + sponsor.
...

And if someone jumps in from the side I think it's not a big deal. Some of us can inform them about all this in the chat... that there is a sponsored final table and in order to reach it they will have to collect points (and maybe register here). I think we had that situation in the last series, as I remember Yahoo found a few players who played poker on Betnomi already.

...
If we ended up with 20-30 players instead of only 10...

If, that's a big if. 20 players would be amazing, at least in the first game! But to be honest, I am not very optimistic. I guess we will see how many people will actually play when they open registration for the first game. Smiley
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful Many New Tokens on Coinmarketcap are on: February 15, 2023, 08:14:13 PM
Coinmarket, coingecko, and some other similar sites are useful for a quick review of some projects...
But if we compare Coingecko and Coinmarketcap, it is obvious enough that it is a lot easier for a coin or token to get listed on Coinmarketcap than Coingecko. As of this writing, Coinmarketcap has already admitted 22,547 cryptocurrencies while Coingecko has only 12,319. There's a huge difference, almost double, which could mean that more shitcoins are probably listed on Coinmarketcap than Coingecko. So while both are not reliable sites as far as legitimacy of the coins or projects are concerned, it is better to check Coingecko than Coinmarketcap.

Yes, that is a big difference... I didn't notice this before. I know about "Coinpaprika" as well, check this out:

48k currencies? More than double compared to Coinmarketcap... x4 compared with Coingecko. This is interesting I must say, which price-tracking website has the highest listing standards?
After a bit of digging, I found Cryptoslate, just 2.6k cryptos, but tokens/PoS/PoW is separated, anyway much fewer listed cryptos than on other sites:

In the end, price-tracking sites can be good for some start/basic searches... but as you say non of them is reliable for project legitimacy! With that said, these sites are only of an informational nature and have no real weight.

@iv4n, I just checked out the missions but they don’t seem so interesting to me, the minimum bet of 1$ is also way too high for me.

Well, making 1000 bets with a min $1 is definitely not easy... and that is for just one star, for 3 stars min bet is $50. I have a few points from some games, but it's meaningless.

I just checked the "Missions page" and it's ending in a few hours. Maybe the next one will be more attractive for us "amateur" gamblers! Smiley
1507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful Many New Tokens on Coinmarketcap are on: February 15, 2023, 10:59:16 AM
This has always been the way with Coinmarketcap. But it is not a big deal. Coinmarketcap is not a site where one could verify whether a coin or token is legit or not. It
...
That's true, I've seen a lot of shitty coins that was listed before on the Coinmarket cap and it's on the "Trend" section too which give that coin more exposure but that doesn't mean they are legitimate and trusted project, they don't have any strict requirements and they are just there to provide data about that coin and not encourage to buy that coins. It's the job of the investor if they are going to invest to that project or not but the Coinmarketcap will just show data of that coin, brief information and where it can be exchanged.

Coinmarket, coingecko, and some other similar sites are useful for a quick review of some projects. Except for info where some coins/tokens can be exchanged, there are direct links to their sites, along with the price statistic. But as both of you pointed out, people should not rely only on these sites when they are looking for investments. It can be a good start, but nothing more than that...

When it comes to "new tokens on Coinmarketcap" I tried to remember 2015 and how cryptos were listed at that time... anyway, this is how it looks now:

I found an old image on the internet:

So 20k new listings in some very short period... Smiley I guess it's the question when we will see 30k, maybe this year?
1508  Economy / Gambling / Re: PVP Games Lounge launching soon on: February 15, 2023, 09:26:47 AM
Does OP have any updates on the PvP games that they are planning? There are quite a lot of commentators here who are waiting for his updates regarding this matter.

This OP is also a bit hanging and suspenseful in the community here, hehe... But even so, I hope that they start well with the games they are planning so that everyone who wants to try the PvP games can trust them correctly and fully.
or they already Lose their confidence depending to our response here? or maybe they have gone for nothing and not interested anymore.
but lets Hope that they will make an update in the sooner time because I am also interested to what they will be releasing(if there is more)

There won't be more than this... there were too many announcements in the past, but I never saw anything concrete. I assume that it will be the same this time, there will be no updates, and I really doubt we will see any games released. Sad but true.

I think there will be a long wait before we see some serious site where it will be possible to play PvP games with stakes.

1509  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC Silver and Gold on: February 14, 2023, 06:14:04 PM
I am curious. How many of you also stack gold and silver in addition to BTC as a hedge for inflation?

I am not interested in gold or silver, so I don't have any... if you don't count some presents in gold, those I keep, but I don't wear them and neither does my wife. Luckily she doesn't like it as well.

So in my case, it's BTC! And some other alts... and I am at that age when I think about putting something on the side, and crypto looks like the best option in my opinion. Simply I think that crypto is the future, and Bitcoin is leading the race. I think we are still at some beginnings, crypto needs to expand a lot more, and I think new generations will do it. When I look at younger generations they are all into technology, and eventually, they will start learning about crypto... in a few years (if not now!) we will meet 18-20 years old "kids" that know more about crypto than we do after almost 10 years dealing with it.

But it's just my bet... Gold and silver are pretty much stable with some slow grow, while crypto offers a lot more opportunities! People can start from scratches literally and make something, with gold and silver it's not so easy.
1510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there an effective way to stop a gambling-addicted person? on: February 14, 2023, 03:16:04 PM
A 29-year-old man is independent and cannot be coerced to change his way of life.

Exactly! If he doesn't want to change, then it is very difficult to reach him!

The only thing you can do is persuade or encourage him to change his ways. You need to let him know the consequences of his action and what he can achieve if he controls his gambling behavior. If he refuses to change his ways and keeps incurring debt, he should be allowed to stay in the police station until he repays his loan. Maybe he can learn his lesson when nobody comes to bail him from police custody. You can also take him to a gambling psychologist to guide and counsel him on how to break free from addiction.

Things can be very complicated... especially if his debts affect the entire household. I have experience with people "who simply don't listen", they only react with some kind of force. Sometimes it's the only way "to bring someone back to earth and reality". But even that doesn't work with everyone, some people are pretty stubborn and autodestructive. They usually wake up when they hit the rock bottom,  and after they destroy almost everything that can be destroyed around them... usually when it's too late.

...
If there is any advice you can give me on how to approach this matter please help.

Obviously, your brother needs a "wake-up" call. I don't know how much "power" you have over your brother and what you can really do to "wake him up and get him back on the right path"... Is there a possibility to control his finances and movements, can you move his focus on other things? Depending on how "deep" he is you will need to pay a lot of attention to bring him back on track. In any case, it's necessary to work with him, at first 24/7 probably, which is certainly neither easy nor simple.

You are close to him so I guess you should know him, his character and personality... think about it and try to find the best approach. Probably the most important is to not give up even without results at the beginning, sometimes it takes a lot of strength to stay calm in difficult situations and a lot of patience to reach out to someone. I wish you a lot of strength and luck to overcome this successfully.
1511  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🟡 SLM.Games | Deposits&Withdrawals On-Chain ⛓ | Daily Promocodes 💰 on: February 14, 2023, 10:00:12 AM
I was curious about your website, and because of this I created an account to find out what's in SLM, and I saw that this gambling platform is a utility token, and SLM can be bought on pancakeswap where it is around  0.0137$ each currently.

Also, I just noticed that you don't have any games available in the slots yet, when will you have active games here? Because I often play slot games.

As you could see that "soon" is right next to it, and the same is for poker. I am more of a slot player as well, but I guess we need to wait for slots. I can't say I expect some amazing poker if they just copy/paste some script (nitro, sportsbet, and other similar examples) I believe there will be no players at all. Anyway, they shared their road map https://docs.slm.games/roadmap, slots and poker are next.

I like when limbo has auto-betting, even more, when there are live stats... adding a new game looks good, so I guess they will continue with improvements.

Not very successfully, in my opinion, the statistics in the Crash game are implemented, which shows only your current session of being in the game when you refresh the page or after switching to another game, it is impossible to see the past rounds.

I guess they can fix that, I didn't try crash... I had a little fun with dices and today playing limbo, with SLMs I got from tasks.
1512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling safer than before ? on: February 14, 2023, 07:03:22 AM
...
I don't think we are in the "safe" zone and we will probably never be.

Nothing is 100% safe, never has been, and never will be. How safe/risky is something always depends on us and our actions...

Before casinos were "bad places", it depends from country to country how long ago, and in some countries, it's probably still like that. So there's a bunch of shady people with temper winning and losing hard-earned/stolen/borrowed/etc money... what can go wrong?

...
You are in danger if you announce your winnings to everyone and then subsequently put a target on your back. Also, hackers will also target your account and/or people working for the casino ..might exploit loopholes to empty your account and blame it on hackers.  Roll Eyes

Well, online gambling has its own risks for sure, but again we come to the same point, risk will depend on our actions... offline or online. We need to be careful with our online activities, especially when some money is involved! If we are not, and I guess each of us has some story for sharing about that, the chances of getting in trouble and losing some money are pretty high.
1513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 13, 2023, 03:30:27 PM

Since these two teams are not in their right shape it will make the game to be more interesting because right now because of the problems the both teams are facing no one knows which team is strong enough to win the game. Psg is my favourite which I will love them to win the game.

I agree both teams have some weak games, but that can be cause they are resting players for tomorrow night... CL is an important competition. Bayern looks like a favorite, but I would like to see PSG in the next stage. I think we can expect some goals, and I will probably try with both teams to score & 2.5.

And I will probably combine that bet with Tottenham to win. I am still thinking about it, Milan is weak in the last weeks, and I still remember how Italians generally performed very badly last year... I would like to see Tottenham kicking their asses for all my loses from that time. After some great wins in the last games, I am somehow sure they can do very well in Italy.

Good luck all!
1514  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 StarBets.io 🎲 || A Crypto-based iGaming Platform 🎲 on: February 13, 2023, 09:57:29 AM
Thanks Klarki for posting the event here! Something to look forward to as it is always fun to receive some free Star tokens thanks to the wheel. I also saw yesterday on the site a deposit bonus of 100%. Minimum to deposit is 10$ but the wagering requirements of 100x is too high in my eyes. Normally that is around 30-40x.

They often have a wheel and that deposit bonus, I never tried it cause of that insane rollover. x30 would be amazing, but even x40 looks great comparing with x100. Well, maybe they will think about lowering rollover or at least make some special promotions for the forum members.

...
They also promise some other bonuses to their users throughout the week.

There are nice events and missions, but if you check the participants and how much they wager you will see that competition is pretty hard. Smiley
1515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rumors that US SEC would like to ban crypto staking on: February 12, 2023, 09:55:04 PM
I think it is for crypto staking on cexes and not dexes. So you instance there and stake on the dex

Well, CEX is regulated and should follow some rules and regulations, staking on CEX exchange is not the same as "staking on-chain", at least I think it's like that. Rules and regulations, each country have some stupid ones... But whatever it is, I am sure that some (if not a lot) US citizens will find a way to continue with staking on some CEX-es like they find a way to gamble in crypto casinos that don't accept players from the US.

Another FUD was brought to the market. No wonder, after all this growth, now you need a reason to drop the price. I'm sure there will be no ban on staking. Ethereum just moved to PoS and is now, for the most part, controlled by American companies. Banning staking means banning all Ethereum. No one will take that step, it's like trying to ban bitcoin mining. This is another speculation designed to temporarily destabilize the crypto market.

I agree with you... this situation is about Kraken and its service, it's not about "staking" in general. But people like to create drama and FUD, sensational headlines get all the attention.
1516  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment on: February 12, 2023, 08:50:57 PM

Maybe you are a busy person? But for someone who is not in a hurry and they are also bored, they will like to play their spins slowly. Not only per day but they will also spin it one by one. There must be a different kind of thrill of doing it and I think I can get a better prize this way than if I spin them all together.

If your last claim is last year then I can't imagine the amount of free spins you are having now. That must be huge? And you see, it takes time for you to collect them all but if I were you, I will just sit my fun tokens there to earn passive returns and exciting rewards than gambling them because you can surely lose them quickly.

With 2500 Fun tokens locked he will get:

I am not busy or bored, I like to keep WoF spins as long as I can (usually I spin them all before the Lambo draw...), currently, I have over 1k WoF spins on waiting:

We have two months until the Lambo draw, 60 days x 9 spins every day... I think soon it will be 10 spins daily. I guess I will have around 1700 spins in that time... can I hope that one of them will be Rolex? Smiley That would be awesome! Smiley
1517  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crashscores.com 💥 Realtime Crash Game Statistics on: February 12, 2023, 07:32:10 PM
This is very interesting, especially for us who like to chase high payouts. I'm trying to remember when and where I saw something like this, but it was too long ago. Mostly x1000 doesn't come that often, and x10k or more comes maybe once a day... with the help of these statistics, we can see how long it has been since the last big crash, in case it has been a long time, we start chasing some higher payouts.

I like the idea, but the site could be much better arranged. It's a bit slow for me (I am not sure cause of me or your site), but I will bookmark it. I like to chase high payouts from time to time, and this site looks like a perfect start... before playing I would like to know the highest crashes in the last hours.

Good luck Stakefast. I would like to see you take this site to some higher level. Smiley
1518  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ BTCGOSU ⭐ THE ULTIMATE BITCOIN CASINO GUIDE ⭐ CRYPTO AFFILIATE OF THE YEAR 🏆 on: February 11, 2023, 05:26:03 PM
GOSUS, this week, I had the pleasure of visiting iGB London, which is the largest international iGaming event. It was super cool and I met a lot of great people, even though I am sad I could not meet "everyone". Also had nice chats with numerous operators, including Stake, BC.Game, Coinslotty, Fairspin etc. etc.

Did you manage to arrange some "super bonuses" for Gosu players? Smiley

I'm wondering what your impressions of all of them are... would you single out any of them as special?

I did not make a lot of photos but I will share some with you soon - almost 7,000 gambling industry people, it was amazing.

Ohhhhhhh, and let us not forget that I also received our Award for "Crypto Affiliate of the Year" by AffPapa - great people and I am still very proud of that achievement, so thanks again to all of you as well as AffPapa!

Congrats! We all know that BTCGosu deserved that! I hope there will be many more in the future! Smiley
1519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is Gambling? ChatGPT Responses. on: February 11, 2023, 02:54:40 PM
...
I think the only two words a 5 year old can understand in this answer are "play" and "toys". I can't test it right now, no kids of 5 years old around, but that's what I remember from the times when my kids were around that age.

If someone has this opportunity, please read that text to them aloud and tell about their reaction.

And all the other explanations are almost identical, no? Like there is no difference between a 15 year old and 50 year old. Honestly, I expected much more from ChatGPT.

I think that explanation for 5 years old kids is ridiculous. Especially the part:

Quote
...Just like in any game, it's important to remember to only play with things you can afford to lose, and never to gamble more than you can afford.

Kids cry when they lose, and explaining to them what is "afford to lose" in any game is pretty hard, but of course, with constant repeating and explaining the kid will learn after some time. My daughter is 4 and a half years old, and in the last few weeks I am trying to explain to her the term "risk"... I will only say it's not so simple and easy, but repeating is the mother of learning, and of course, the pain from making too risky stunts can be a good motivation.
Anyway, I wouldn't dare to even try explaining gambling to a 5-year-old kid, it's too early! It's simple to manipulate kids and move their point of interest, just say "It's nothing interesting/It's bad/It's not for kids/ETC" and move the topic to something else. Some kids can be advanced or not, it's up to a parent to see the kid's possibility to fully understand something. And it's pretty easy to spot it, kids don't hide when they are interested in something...

As for other answers, it's nothing special... This ChatGPT is pretty hyped, but to be honest, I don't see anything special in all that.
1520  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 11, 2023, 07:48:27 AM

I guess the conclusion is pretty simple, just saving without living is pointless.

I know a similar "short story" about two roses walking in the desert... I like to think it's about life, maybe even more about girls Smiley:

Two roses walk through the desert and after a long time, they come across a spring. But when they wanted to drink, the spring told them that they could, but to leave the petal. One rose gave a petal and drank the water, the other kept safe. And so spring after spring, one gave petals and drank water, the other did not... until both withered.

We need some enjoyment and entertainment in life, without that what's the point of life?
