15021  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: April 11, 2018, 02:15:04 AM
Right now about 80% of my portfolio is comprised of Bitcoin and another 10% is Bitcoin Cash. The proportion of Bitcoin has increased during the last 2-3 months, due to the fall in value of some of the altcoins I own.
15022  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Crypto Business Is Now Legal in Belarus on: April 11, 2018, 02:13:00 AM
Belarus is making huge steps towards crypto. I think that this approach will be very profitable for the country in a long term. Waiting for other countries to follow

Eastern European (especially the former USSR) countries are infamous for the difficulty in doing business. Nothing moves there if you don't want to bribe the officials and the bureaucrats. I just hope that the situation in Belarus is different from that in Russia and Ukraine.
15023  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Breaking: China May Legalize ICO Soon on: April 11, 2018, 02:11:19 AM
The biggest issue with China is that the news coming from there is unreliable. No one knows whether this news is fake or not. The Chinese authorities have for long opposed ICOs. Why should they change their views now?
15024  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitfinex locked my 500 BTC account and is asking for police report on: April 11, 2018, 02:10:04 AM
You are such an experienced user (made the investment in 2015), and still kept more than 500 BTC in an exchange wallet? What would have happened if Bitfinex was hacked and the coins were stolen? Now coming back to the topic, I don't think that their demands are unjustified. A lot of hacks are happening now and they are being cautious. Just prove your ownership and get back access to your coins.
15025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still buy Bitcoin? on: April 11, 2018, 02:04:33 AM
As of now, the long-term prospects look pretty good. The basics are strong, with the trade volume remaining stable and the user-base increasing at a steady pace. The only weak spot is the legal hurdles faced by Bitcoin users in a few nations such as India and China.
15026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think digital currency will ever replace paper money? on: April 11, 2018, 02:03:21 AM
In India, the mobile payment options (such as PayTM, Mobikwik, JioPay.etc) are very popular, as they are very easy to use. If Bitcoin can offer a better deal when compared to these services, then definitely Bitcoin can be a major alternative.
15027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am i late to buy bitcoin now ?? on: April 11, 2018, 02:02:00 AM
No one in here is late, lmao.. Just buy as much as you can, and remember that the price is pretty low compared to what it was two, or three weeks ago.
It was more than $19,000 just a MONTH ago! Buy, and keep buying, the price will go up soon.

What you are saying is correct, but at the same time there is no guarantee that the prices won't fall any further. The overall trend is downwards, and a better option may be to wait until the prices get stabilized.
15028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving Bitcoins for your Children. on: April 11, 2018, 02:00:37 AM
Saving coins for your children means that you are going to hold on to these coins for as long as 15-20 years. For a volatile digital asset such as Bitcoin, I wouldn't definitely recommend this. It is not meant for such long term investment.
15029  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Syria refugees can't be taken in the west because... on: April 10, 2018, 03:28:36 AM
I don't understand why GCC nations such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar can't take any of these refugees. Most of these refugees are Sunni Arab, which is the native ethnic group in the GCC nations. Despite that, Saudi Arabia till now has taken less than 10 Syrian refugees and the other Arab nations haven't taken any of them. They are saying that they have given work visas for 200,000 Syrians. But what is the use of this work visa, when the adult men who get it can't being their wives and children along them?
15030  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World War III ? on: April 10, 2018, 03:26:00 AM
Everyone is anticipating world war III and it will happen soon.

Why do you think so? I am 99.99% sure that the next world war is at least 20-30 years away. Now almost a dozen nations (including North Korea and Pakistan) are in the possession of nuclear weapons. That means that there is a very high chance of nukes being used in the next world war.

I think leaders are aware that a worldwide warfare would be disastrous for all and things are being done to avoid that. We wouldn't know if it's going to happen soon or not since a single action by a world leader can trigger it. That's why most leaders are resorting to democratic approaches towards north korea.

As far as I can see, North Korea is exercising a lot of restraint right now and they are even trying to repair their relationship with South Korea and Japan. But on the other hand, the Americans are needlessly trying to provoke the Northerners again and again.
15031  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pollution on: April 10, 2018, 03:23:54 AM
One major effect of pollution is the global warming.

I hate it when people post here without knowing the facts. It is true that one of the reasons for global warming is the release of green-house gases in to the atmosphere. But I wouldn't term it as pollution. Because green-house gases are released as a result of natural processes as well.
15032  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Biggest Problem of your Country ?? on: April 10, 2018, 03:21:38 AM
The government is just too damn big and clunky. Involves itself in so many civil functions it shouldn't be interfering with.

Government interference is a big problem here in India. A few months back, they even tried to ban all the porn sites!!! Hollywood movies are shown in the theaters with at least 100 cuts and as a result a 90 minute movie is reduced to 60 minutes.
15033  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: April 10, 2018, 02:20:32 AM
My opinion is that it is the only logical solution to the violence that we see occurring in the United States. I’m personally not opposed to owning weapons; it is a right guaranteed to every citizen by the constitution. However, background checks that are effective must be written into law to keep unstable people from owning firearms.

Background checks are already in place, but the problem is that due to the bureaucratic hassle, sometimes mistakes are being made. Even then, I would like to point out one important thing. The vast majority of the shootings within the United States has occurred in Democrat states such as California and Oregon, where strict gun laws are in place.
15034  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump is better than Obama? on: April 10, 2018, 02:17:48 AM
Its too early to tell. Give President Donald Trump at least 3-5 years to prove himself. Comparing both of them is not fair to Obama because United States is in a different situation before. US keeps on moving up and I think their President right now will help sustain what they have and improve what needs to be improved. What I hate about Trump is his focus on Americans and not caring about immigrants.

He has about 2 years and 8 months remaining in his 4-year term. But I find your argument funny. It is true that Trump is caring more about the Americans. He is supposed to do that, right? I don't know from where you come from. What will be your opinion, if your government puts the immigrants before the citizens of your country?
15035  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Electric Cars - The future ? on: April 10, 2018, 02:15:39 AM
I think electric cars will take over the car industry. There will be a time that electric cars will be comparable to the cars that we have nowadays. Manufacturers are doing everything they can to improve their electric cars and its showing every time they release a product. It keeps on improving every year and it will be only a matter of time before they take over on the car industry. Maybe this will happen 10-15 years from now. The less fuel the better.

It is going to happen only if the electric cars get cheaper. As of now, the electric cars cost as much as 20 times more than a gasoline-run car with the same configuration. Not many can afford them at these prices.
15036  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investing all my savings! on: April 10, 2018, 02:12:10 AM
Fortunately for this guy, everything turned out well. He invested in October 2017, when the exchange rate of BTC was only around $4,000 per coin. BTC investment has given him around 70% returns, while the LTC/ETH investments have given a higher percent return. It was a brave decision to invest using all the savings. But in the end, it turned out to be a wise decision.
15037  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to invest at $7,000? on: April 10, 2018, 02:09:45 AM
Bitcoin looks under-priced at $7,000 per coin. An asset which is having 100 million users and protected from inflation deserves a better exchange rate and market capitalization. So I would recommend a strong BUY advice for Bitcoin at the current levels.
15038  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin price reaches $20.000 this year? on: April 10, 2018, 02:08:06 AM
I see that that Bitcoin price is slowly going up again: Bitcoin price

I am wondering if Bitcoin price will reach $20.000 this year?

Without a trigger, it is not going to happen this year. The basics are still strong, and the user-base continue to grow. But that alone is not enough. If one of the Bitcoin ETFs get approval from NASDAQ or NYSE, then it can act as a trigger.
15039  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy in your country on: April 10, 2018, 02:06:05 AM
What do you think are the effects of btc in your country? Because in my country it thus not affect the economy of ours. Share yours.

I am residing in India, and here the authorities are trying every trick in their book to harass the Bitcoin users. The income tax authorities are sending tax notices to crypto-traders and the RBI has banned banks from dealing in crypto. So I would say that Bitcoin is having an impact here, but in a much negative way.
15040  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good buying price for bitcoin? on: April 10, 2018, 02:04:27 AM
Is it a good buying price for bitcoin?Might cross-border activity often lead to better demand for bitcoin? So bitcoin will do better in the second half of the year. What do you think?

There is no guarantee that Bitcoin will do better during the second half of the year. Normally when a correction phase ends, there will be a significant recovery. We are still through the correction phase, but no one knows how long it is going to last. It may last for 3-4 months, or it may last for 3-4 years.
