In order to survive, Core needs to change its PoW, or else Core miners won’t be able to mine at all.
Classic will have democratic governance but centralized, ASIC based mining.

Core will have meritocratic governance but democratic, GPU based mining.

Been about 12months since I last heard anything about the BFL fall out. Given Cryptsy's recent debarcle, anyone know what happened to Josh and crew in the end?

josh is now a skydiving instructor..

also part of the lifeboat foundation

Can I get a job packing his parachute?

People...  Stop messaging me asking stupid questions like if I will accept a written bill of sale...  I don't want to spend my day dealing with scammers because of this.  Buy from a reputable person or dealer, or get lost.  If you have to ask questions about it being reputable, it isn't.
15127  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Challenge] 500 MH/s of Scrypt Mining Gear (200LTC at stake) on: January 17, 2016, 04:53:14 AM
**OGNASTY has 200 LTC is escrow**

Confirmed.  I will release 200 LTC to anyone able to meet the below terms.

provide proof of acquiring 500MH/sec of Scrypt hashing in one weeks time for less than $4700 to your door

(1) As its a holiday, execute the order by Tuesday 19 January and demonstrate by 26 January.
(2) Provide the details of what was purchased and at what price.
(3) Illustrate hashing @ +/- 5% 500MH/s at reputable pool.

sharknuttz is not eligible, because he does not have $4700.

Has anyone gotten a batch 9 shipping confirmation yet?

Do people think Bitmain will go back to a fixed USD price if BTC keeps dropping?  Guesses as to what the fixed price would be?

All you legendary sheep make me laugh.
Why cant you guys understand that bitcoin has a problem, has had this problem for over a year, and now this problem is coming to a boil.
Stop with your petty posts
"dont let the door kick you on the way out"
"Time to buy cheap coins"
And all your other bullshit and realize that things need to change for bitcoin to survive.
Mining has to lose its centralization, Blocks need to be made larger, we need to lose the bitcoin foundation..........

We've been through this all before.  We have no fear.  Those of you who are scared and following dumb ideas will end up on the wrong side of this story.

How do you feel about the plating Og?

You can definitely tell it was done by hand...  The coins are pretty small, so the pictures make it look worse than in person.  They are not perfect though by any means.  I also just took pictures of the first one I saw.
15133  Economy / Services / Re: LEGENDARY MEMBER Offering TRUSTED ESCROW services on: January 15, 2016, 08:36:10 PM
There is a user directing people to a fake bitcointalk website with a fake post by me giving a fake BTC address.  Please make sure you are trading safely.  You would think the URL would be a pretty good giveaway.

I am open to suggestions on a beginning vanity address for the gold highlighted coins.  Maybe a single letter so I have enough outcomes to be sequential like 1nastyG_ (G for gold)?

I like the G for gold in 1nastyG.

I would like to stick to 1nastyau as a prefix.  I purchased an additional GPU to try and speed the process along, but the only thing that is going to resolve this last issue is time.

The 2oz coins have arrived!

15135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great Day for Bitcoin. Cryptsy finally admitted theft and Mike Hearn rage quits on: January 15, 2016, 05:15:49 PM
" Bitcoin has no future whilst it’s controlled by fewer than 10 people"

Yet, he rage quit because he couldn't be completely in control by himself.  Ironic.

XT dies, and suddenly he finds it appropriate to "sell his bitcoins" and declare bitcoin dead.

His actions on the way out cement in my mind that the Bitcoin community was right to criticize and ignore Bitcoin XT.  I think his new employer says a lot about his prior intentions as well.

If you want to support P2Pool, our -PoP payout method is probably the only way you could do so while maintaining reliable earnings with such a low hashrate.  Smiley

There are also 0% fees.
15139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hearn's "Faith in Humanity Shaken" after People Awaken to His EVIL Plan! on: January 14, 2016, 11:01:53 PM
I haven't been following much of Bitcoin for a while now. Is what I read true that the Bitcoin network has lots of congestion and that transactions take too long?

No.  I received a 0 fee transaction last night without any delay in confirming.
