15181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuela’s President Creates Crypto Funded Youth Bank on: May 07, 2018, 03:13:36 AM
this is exactly what other governments need to be doing ,

i do believe that there currently are a lot of eyes on Venezuela watching it closely to see what they do and what their decisions lead to regarding the first government issued cryptocurrency that became big. it is like the experiment everyone is watching so that they can learn from their mistakes and if the "experiment" was successful then they all repeat it with better results.
in any case Venezuela will still be the first and can potentially become the biggest one in this field. specially since they have been educating their people. it is not just creating a coin and telling people "come use it" they have been actually teaching them about cryptocurrencies, what they are, how they work, how to use them,...
15182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese Investor bought 10,000 bitcoin during the dip! on: May 07, 2018, 02:41:36 AM
there are a bunch of interesting points in this.
first the fact that despite all the crap in the media about how "China has banned bitcoin" and all the FUD like it, the Chinese are still buying bitcoin as much as they can. and the volumes are also quite high there.
second is the fact that there are a lot of people (big players and small) who have been silently buying the dips and accumulating more and more bitcoin without letting anyone know. this dip was the 2015 all over again where prices were low and everyone was FUDing to get a better deal and newbies were panicking while the "wise money" was coming in silently.
15183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Checking the market Share Graph "other" basically in unstoppablen rise on: May 07, 2018, 02:23:26 AM
i expect that, in the future, the "other" coins will basically be the majority of that graph

even a child who knows multiplication (so maybe 7 or 8 year old) can "expect" that!

you are saying 1 bitcoin with 17 million coins is competing with 1700 altcoins most of which have more than 100 million coins! you can say with your eyes closed that bitcoin's "share" is going to decrease as new shitcoins are created. and 1 bitcoin is against 5000 shitcoins!

and just in case you have forgotten marketcap = price * supply
15184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Risks are still "stalking" Bitcoin users on: May 07, 2018, 02:13:00 AM
the future value of the Bitcoin will probably fall to zero. But its value can be very high, up to $ 100,000. peaked at $ 1 million.

this doesn't even make any sense! you are basically saying bitcoin will die (go to zero) then relive again and go to $1 million!
in fact it sounds like you are wishing for bitcoin price to go down but you still want to buy bitcoin so you also wish that after it went down, it starts going back up again so that you can make a lot of money! well my friend that is not going to happen.
15185  Economy / Speculation / Re: This Could be the Move You're Looking For on: May 06, 2018, 04:08:52 AM
ah, naturally we pulled back shortly after this post. dat $10k psychological price! Tongue

it doesn't look that strong anymore. this last "pull back" has been tiny compared to the last two times price tried rising. each time it went down to $8k level but this time it only went down 2% which is why i don't think there is going to be much resistance there anymore next time we try breaking it.
15186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: YoBit Bots for earning some currencies safely? on: May 06, 2018, 04:00:33 AM
a beginner who has to ask someone else (his coworker) what to buy and what to do is not going to be able to make any money trading with or without a bot. by installing all these crappy extensions on your browser and downloading other stuff which call themselves "bot" you are only putting yourself in danger of losing money.

just start trading like a normal person without a "bot" and see where that takes you. if you could make money and by that time if you felt the need for some assistance and automation then look for a bot! but no sooner.
15187  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Private Electrum P!1.0.0 not connected on: May 06, 2018, 03:27:54 AM
apparently the number of BTCP electrum servers is limited but there are more than one, but they are behind a "load balancer" which is basically a reverse proxy which is the bottleneck preventing you to connect so you will have to be patient before you connect to one. at least that's what they are saying on GitHub!

15188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spot the Newbie Problems: Bitcoin or Not? on: May 06, 2018, 03:08:57 AM
some people thought that the attack against bitcoin and all the attempts to take it over has ended when the "big blockers" forked off and went their own way. then all the mining attacks with their EDA started against bitcoin. we defeated that but the media attacks have never stopped. the attempts to take over is still strong and ongoing. what Roger Ver is doing on bitcoin.com is  the clear example of it. they are still trying to take over and we need to fight back.
15189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About the Gas on exchanges on: May 05, 2018, 03:39:53 AM
you need need the transaction fee/gas when you are sending an on chain transaction. but after your deposit was complete on the exchange, you are in their database. there is no transaction fee/gas anymore because you are no longer making on chain transactions.

so when you want to sell any coin on exchanges you only pay trading fee which is usually a percentage of your order size. for example if you sell 0.1BTC worth of an altcoin on Yobit you will pay 0.2% of it or 0.0002BTC
15190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Cannot find my BTC from 2014 on: May 05, 2018, 03:23:24 AM
I have my private keys

if you truly have your private keys then you don't have to worry about anything. simply install any wallet that allows you to import private keys and you will have your bitcoins back.
i suggest Electrum. here is a guide: http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-import-private-keys-from-other-bitcoin-clients
15191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In South Korea, the Crypto Currency Boom Hits Economy system. on: May 05, 2018, 03:17:00 AM
this is not new!
this started last year in Korea like any other country and people have been buying a lot of bitcoin ever since. there have been times when bitcoin price reaches a much higher price than the rest of the market because of that surge of demand. similar cases are India, Venezuela and a couple of other African countries.
Japan also interested to bitcoin as well. Asian markets are look positive to bitcoin now. The most possible reason why Korean people are interested to bitcoin is because the grow of war in north korea.

i know about Japan, of course the "interest in bitcoin" exists in a lot of countries. but in most of them (like Japan) the market is big enough to answer that demand and for price to stay at the same level with the rest of the world. or if it couldn't people can always use foreign exchanges and bring that balance with arbitrage.

i was talking about the surge in demand which increased the price. for example when price was $800-$900 in USD markets, it went above $1200 in Indian markets. the market was small and arbitrage was impossible.

15193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the most confirmations a tx has had before being orphaned / dropped? on: May 05, 2018, 02:44:28 AM
~ reversed / double spent / orphaned?

just to clarify this part. these 3 are very different from each other.
there is no reversal in bitcoin. if you send the transaction it is out there, you can't cancel it. you can't reverse it. but you can double spend it unless it is confirmed.
as for orphan, if your transaction is mined in a block and that block is orphaned there is a good chance that your transaction is also mined in the other block on the main chain which orphaned the other. the risk of orphan+double spend is that the person sending the transaction having access to a large hashrate so that he can orphan the other block which mined the initial tx and include a new one (double spend to a different address) in the new block he mines.
15194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the cryptocurrency market world division ? on: May 05, 2018, 02:33:44 AM
for example that Korea represents 50 % of the market.

maybe in early days there was a country that had 50% or more of the market but today with all the adoption that has happened around the world no country has 50% or even close to that.
unfortunately there is no easy way to measure it either because exchanges aren't limited to one country so even if you measure their volume you are seeing the volume coming from a lot of different countries.
15195  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What Happens To My Wallet Identifier Reminder If The Email Account Is Gone? on: May 04, 2018, 04:22:10 AM
i think the 18 words long phrase that you have is also a Seed meaning you can use it to recover your private keys. but the setup before that was different it had 20 words and it was not a Seed and it could only be used to recover the "password" instead which is why it was called "Wallet Recovery Phrase" instead of simply "seed" or "mnemonic"
'it was not a Seed and it could only be used to recover the "password" instead which is why it was called "Wallet Recovery Phrase"'
I think you got it mixed-up, unless I misread or misunderstood that part of your sentence
my "18 word" is not a seed and called a "Wallet Recovery Mnemonic" (not phrase) by bc.info, for recovering password
they used the word Mnemonic for password reminder, not for seeding wallet as common use now
here's what I've written down exactly as shown when I created my wallet (Legacy Wallet)

that is what i was saying too. but i was assuming 18-words was also a part of new version of their wallet which produced seed (which you could use to recover your private keys) i know the previous one which had 20-words was for "password reminder", so apparently the 18-words one is also like that.
15196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 10k $ on: May 04, 2018, 04:07:59 AM
because the whales are accumulating bitcoin and they want to buy it at $9300+-~10% and that falls between $8800 and $10000. every time price tries going above $10k there will be a huge initial dump to scare the market and crash it down while the buys are happening as fiercely as ever and they are getting ready to go up in the next upcoming rally.
15197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are centralized cryptocurrencies safe? on: May 04, 2018, 04:01:05 AM
all that was said is true but they are forgetting the biggest risk of all! you are talking about money, a currency that is centralized and is in control of one person or a group of people who are not even running a regulated or legal thing. they can take your money from you and there is nothing you can do about it.
for example Ripple foundation can easily put their hand in any user's wallet and take their XRP for themselves. you can't do anything about it since XRP is not a currency according to law and it is something they own and just let you use temporarily. and they actually have done it at least once to one of their own developers! they simply robbed his coins.

you see it is not about government, hacking, banning,... it is all about "control" being in hands of shady people who can abuse that power any time they want.
15198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is no doubt that bitcioin will be replaced by another cryptocurrency on: May 04, 2018, 03:52:08 AM
Because I see there are many other cryptocurrencies that the developers are trying hard to solve the problems in cryptocurrencies.
We don't know who are the developers and no effort is being made to develop it.

i don't know if you are trolling here or outright dumb with these two statements.
i am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are just dumb. your problem is that your head is in the sand! you have never even checked any of these so called "rivals" and you have never in your life owned any of them outside of an exchange. you just bought some shitcoin and earn profit thanks to its pump and then saw its "advertisement" so you think it is the best thing in the world!

go try out some of these shitcoins you are so in love with and then come back and lets talk then. Wink
15199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RECOVER BITCOIN.COM DOMAIN NAME on: May 04, 2018, 03:37:42 AM
it doesn't matter who owns  a website as long as they are not pushing their own personal opinion down the reader's throats. specially when they are misleading newbies.
unfortunately bitcoin.org guys are no better in this case, last year they tried convincing everyone that bitcoin fees need to be high. they even removed every trace of "cheap fee" from bitcoin.org and if we let them they will eliminate every trace of bitcoin being a currency too because a lot of code devs are idiotically thinking bitcoin is a "store of value" not a "currency".

all you can say is that what Roger Ver is doing should be stopped immediately. or we as a community need to fight back. there is no centralized authority to fight for us.
15200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is humanity prepared to be its own Bank ? on: May 04, 2018, 03:18:13 AM
I've been reading many cases in this forum about bitcoin losses, in fact too many cases. So If all this happens to people with computer knowledge... imagine the masses, I mean "normal people" like your neighbours, grandmas, fathers, etc... The truth is that right now I can't imagine them playing with electrums, wallets, backups, etc.
can these people store their cash? protect their credit cards? how about their jewelries or any other valuables for that matter?
people learn the "how to" of things when they have to. and there will always be idiots who think it is a game and lost their valuables. i don't see how that relates to being ready or not.
besides everything is becoming easier and more newbie friendly as we go forward.

I wonder if we (like a society) are prepared to be our own Bank.
no but not because of what you said. instead because people are still relying on banks and they are used to the old ways. nobody likes change specially a big one.

Quote
For other hand, I'm also wondering if we're being too innocent talking to others about the bitcoins we own. If this project has the success that is expected, we could be hunting targets (especially if new fiat economic crises come) the day of tomorrow. It's not difficult to imagine in the near future people robbing other people, but this time asking for private keys or seeds instead few dollars cash in their pocket.
well this has nothing to do with the topic and it has nothing to do with bitcoin either! like anything else if you have a valuable in your hand and you flaunt it about you will be targeted by thieves, and depending on where you live you may be at a bigger danger.
that valuable may as well be your money in a bank!
