15181  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 253 blocks solved! on: January 10, 2020, 03:30:22 PM
Okay 0.015 + 0.125 =

0.140/2 = 0.070

may work

For a lot of people .125 is too much.  I only did it once myself and won't be doing it again anytime soon

there may be a middle ground number  especially  if you can rent from a guy directly.

Hello ,i am interested for coupon of 141. How much is it ?

Sent a pm and asked for the coin to be sent to this address

https://www.blockchain.com/en/btc/address/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

we agreed to 40 usd in btc

I asked for you bitmain  account name / email  to send coupon.

  no coin has come

no bitmain account name or info has come.

So do you want the coupon?

I simply don't understand  why you sent me a pm today calling me a crook.

I have zero coin sent to me from you
I have zero  bitmain info sent from you to send a coupon

I would like to fix your issues with me.

Maybe  I can have a native russian speaker talk with you  to translate as we don't seem to be understanding each other very well. here is the pm sent to me.
I still have the coupons  if you reply here and show where you sent the coin to maybe we can fix the problem.

Lets have some Common sense please as the world is already fucked up enough.
to the op I think someone  tricked you into thinking it was abuse when instead it was a way to stir the pot.

I think the most likely explanation is one that is the simplest - someone used their alt accounts or hacked accounts to rain some merits on an account with no negative feedback so that they can start ranking it, or because it's now probably worth *something* and they could sell it. It is also possible the owner of that account bought merits from someone else.

Maybe you are correct. I edited my post to reflect that.

Does anyone have an archive of this thread.
Ovys posted here and it is gone  it was deleted.  Does anyone have that deletion?

15189  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New t17e - not hash on: January 09, 2020, 02:35:05 AM
Not a fan of the 17e  I have two.

Try power off wait 1 minute power on..

Check your  volts in 2 lines of 230 volts and they  need to have 14 or 15 amps as the 17e is a freaking power hog.

you can supply power lower then 230  around 205  and up to 240.

make sure your have enough amps.

about 16 amps at 205 volts

and about 14 amps at 240 volts.

switch  power cables with a known good set of power cables.
15190  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The U.S. has made a huge mistake and will pay a price for it. on: January 09, 2020, 01:54:39 AM
it is over for now.  Iran did their retaliation and said it was appropriate.  I think this is done for a while.
15191  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: My hash rate will not reach 19.5 on: January 09, 2020, 01:49:42 AM
I tend to think you are correct.

but my test can still  alleviate   bandwidth issue if the limit is 300 miners out bound from his place. then throttled.

the limit may be 300 miner max to 1 address with 1 label.

if he does 290  to 1 address with 1 label

and 20 to 1 address with 1 label  it could work.

this can do 9 + 9 + 9 + 9 = 36 s9's

full size

https://i.imgur.com/6E5ysLD.png

but if you do 10 + 9 + 9 + 9    the one with 10 will have rotating dropouts.

kano.is had a 9 s9  limit.

I think ckpool did at one time.

I get at 300 he may have a large proxy

but if he is up to 320 miners

two 160 proxies could work around his issue.

he kind of mentions a work around  of moving the 10  miner but I do not know were to?

Also what is his switch equipment?

what is his router?

We have 2 routers with 2 services

So we can configure  easy peasy  230 units per router.

we like cisco 48 port gigabyte speed switches  we get then surplus refurbished cheap.

I grabbed 10 of them  they work well.
15192  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: My hash rate will not reach 19.5 on: January 09, 2020, 01:12:27 AM
try using a different pool for 20 miners. use viabtc

if you use viabtc try pointing 20 miners to bch coin

or open a second account with via btc and run 20 miners at btc.

on the twenty test miners make  sure they include the 10 slow ones.

if this works the pool may not want 300 + miners pointed on the same account to the same coin.

it would be bandwidth issue that you looped around via a second account.
15193  Other / Meta / Re: From reading your old posts how have you changed since arriving here? on: January 09, 2020, 12:42:18 AM
After reading your post, I took sometime to examine myself and I must say I have changed completely. I went searching through past post record and I noticed my very first post plus most posts on the 1st & 2nd page of my post history has been edited by me to trash (delete) meaning obviously the post weren't contributing anything positive to the forum. That's not surprising since I didn't start quite well on the forum, most of my early posts are nothing to write home about but I got better, improving on my post quality (english and construction) as my involvement on the forum increased.

Judging from others recent reaction to my posts, from the DMs of acknowledgement of the impact of my threads, to them seeking for permission to translate some of my works (threads). I guess I'm doing something right and on the right track. But if I was to point out one major difference it has to be my English. Although it's not yet perfect, I'm observing some major improvement.

i deleted old posts.  but i was on bitminter threads quite a bit. i always was interested in mining.

Oh to bring something up I mine a little at nicehash  not much.

I mine to this address

https://www.blockchain.com/en/btc/address/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

notice the Jan 1 payment to it that was from nicehash.

now go here

https://www.nicehash.com/my/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3/stats

click on history and stats

and the payment for this week is pending  it has been pending for a long time.

So My thoughts are nicehash is meh  for reliability.
15195  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Miner Question on: January 08, 2020, 02:34:39 PM
The Chinese government could order to cut all electricity to all mining farms in their country immediately. Should we start clamoring for a POW-change?

that might cause hash rate to plummet and block times to become significantly longer. impatient people might start clamoring for an emergency difficulty adjustment, but a POW change? that wouldn't make sense.

even if the chinese government seized farms, miners, pools, chip fabrication factories, etc and performed sustained 51%/censorship attacks.....the electricity, overhead, and production costs would be real. they couldn't just sustain the attack indefinitely. so ideally there would still be no POW change---we could just let the attackers burn themselves out. i just hope that bitcoiners are patient enough to do that.

Difficulty adjustment is a Hard Fork.
Something the Devs has run away from doing.

If the Chinese Gov cuts the power , you are looking at over 65% of the bitcoin mining disappear overnight.
This alone will freeze the network, and no transactions will be possible for months, unless the hard fork difficulty adjustment occurs.

* Note a Difficulty adjustment change could be keyed in now, no reason to wait for China to smack bitcoin,
most other coins difficult #s adjusts per block, a difficulty adjust every two weeks only , has always been asking for trouble.*

* If Attackers are earning money by doublespending, then they can continue indefinitely by using their ill-gotten gains to fund future attacks.
How many people do you think can wait the 1 or 2 months needed before a utility disconnects the miners for non-payment.*
The Traders will cause a blood letting like you never dreamed possible, in that scenario.
Anyone that waits patiently will hold nothing but broken dreams.   Tongue

if the network drops 65% transactions dont freeze they slow by a factor of 3.

so block time turns into 30 minute not 10 minute .  the worst case is it is done on day 1 of a diff jump.

so a 14 day wait is 42 days.  it is not a big deal.  it would be a good thing as it would show the network is a tough thing to kill.

also i estimate more then 20eh of gear is shut off that can be turned on.

which means the drop would be from 100 eh to 35 eh add back  20 eh and we are at 55eh.

which worst case means diff wait of 13 or 14 days will stretch to only 25 - 30 days.

15196  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain drops prices again on: January 08, 2020, 02:26:00 PM
yeah my first thought was they were hyping 5nm and we were not going to see any newer gear until july or aug.

i now think they will release gear ⚙️ in april or may. i think they will pre orders soon.

my batch 1 s9 was sent to me four weeks before the 1/2 ing back in 2016. it still has one working board
pretty amazing unit. so maybe they try to get the 5nm out before the 1/2 ing hits.
15197  Economy / Speculation / Re: $9k next week on: January 08, 2020, 02:13:33 PM
with the way price jumped and the way that the media is currently hyping up everything and scaring people with the drama in middle east and tries to make a link, it wouldn't be surprising if the price had much faster rise. not to mention that the market has been waiting for a very long time for this rise to start in 2020 and all the money that has been waiting to jump back in, will FOMO buy back in and price could shoot up to $13k by next week.
yeah 9k is too low a guess. i am hoping to crack 10k next week

Well I think Philip has some power he was thinking of renting and some other members so it might be something worth looking into.
The reason people use nice hash is convenience though they have had a somewhat iffy past.

Also the amount of hashpower user farms may have might not be large enough and again there's quite a fair amount available via Nicehash
Yeah, I get the convenience factor. I use to do my home mining to it way back and general GPU's for how easy it was, but after the hack haven't done much except for what was needed to keep my balance active.

When your talking 1+PH for a day or two it makes it a bit easier to work with a large farm or user, still the convenience will be with nicehash but working one-one you cut them out.

I could probably part with a few PH for a week or so if Phillip or anyone else wanted to avoid nicehash.

Lets put it to the group once we have a full list again I would be happy to see community members earning for there hash rate rather than random's on Nicehash so it's a good idea.

Maybe Philip will pipe in with some of his legendary mathematics on rates, since he is the guru at the numbers.

7 places to fill some members are holding off this round as they just had an attempt.

renting 2ph directly from a reliable miner  is  better then nicehash.

We spent about 13-14%  more then the breakeven rates renting from nicehash.

nicehash charges 3% plus a little for each order.  and we paid higher then the standard rate  due to competition for available hash.

translation  current berea even number is 0.01778 per ph per day

we paid  about  0.0201 per ph per day.

so if a farms sells  you under 0.0201 per ph per day

say   0.019 per ph per day   nicehash is cut out

the farm earns more  then standard the renter pays less then  it would pay nicehash.

so right now we have  6 or 7 days before next jump.

if you rent 1 ph for 5 days at 0.019 it is 0.095  per ph for 5 days.

or rent 2 ph for  5 days at  at 0.038 it is 0.190 for 5 days.

better for the farm and for the renter

worse for nicehash.

wait for jump  once 5 day rental is done  figure new rates  do another 5

If I had 4ph or 5ph  mining under my control    I would do it.  At least once or twice.

my total hash is

1200
  200
  570
1970  or 1.97 ph
15200  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain & Canaan To Release 5nm chip ASIC Miners in Q1 2020! on: January 08, 2020, 01:41:56 AM
coins beyond 8400.  maybe btc takes off goes over 10k be weeks end.

Carries us all up to the ½ ing and beyond.

It would get a lot of people to buy the newer 5nm gear on longer delays.
