1521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Etoro seems like a huge Scam site. on: September 12, 2017, 10:13:25 AM
I am shocked by this company.

They were the first "trader" which i decided to use everything was great until i had to withdraw money.

I originally put in about 250 Euros, which BTW is close to minimal opening position there.
After a while I decided that it is time to change Traders and withdrew ~400Euros.

First surprise was that i had to pay 25$ withdrawal fee. Ok, I swallowed it and was happy that my money is on he way. I used SEPA.
I thought that it was the end of this burglary  but No, after a while I received only 66 EUROS! I couldn't believe my eyes, how it is possible.

Now, i have contacted the support . But while I was searching , I saw that the contact methods are not made to resolve problems quickly  but to stall the process.
Also I am starting to have a feeling that this is their business - to scam people. The more I think about it, it seems the perfect way, because no trader can prove their positions if they do not keep separate logs.
The only thing one could prove is the money which went inside the trader, thus in the case of dispute ,they could fabricate your trades ( this is speculation for now) .

I started to research the legal means, and it does not seem promising. Cyprus basically has no official way to resolve this without  going to court. One can leave an official complaint or go trough private mediator this is crazy since it is EU and it should be much more regulated.

1522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: September 11, 2017, 09:13:41 PM
Right now when market is experiencing all kinds of problems mostly because of CHINA, I see Ripple as the safest bet to get small gains.
It does not seem to be effected very much by China news compared to other cryptos.

In the same time its ridiculous to assume that there will be x5 gains soon.

1523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: September 11, 2017, 08:59:57 PM
It seems like the perfect time to invest. Personally put in 7 BTC (23% of portfolio) an hour ago.
There are few problems, but this altcoin looks to be the most promising for mid-long hold.

really a good project and this very cheap, I remember when it was worth 300 satoshi, and think that it fell so much

I spread mine of 20 coins.

How can you monitor all those coins?

With google spreadsheet. I create a tab for each coin, and grab the prices in USD and BTC from function calls to exchanges with web service API calls.
On the 1st tab of the spreadsheet I grab key data for all the coins and get a summary of their value. I also grab the hourly, 24 hour and 7 day change for each coin. I also place sell targets here as well.

I am quoting you so I remember this idea with spreadsheet, when i increase my portfolio.
Great work,man!

Regarding SiaCoin. IT seems like a very good idea, project. Its been a while since it started but for me it does not seems that it is being accepted enough. Is there any legitimate reasons for this ?

Also it seems that it is not doing very well in market recently. Could it be explained with overall problems in market right now or there is other reasons ?
1524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | PARAGON | Revolutionizing the Cannabis Industry | on: September 10, 2017, 03:14:13 PM
That's nice. Partnership with well known entity show stronghold of the projects.
And for paragon this is much needed as ICO is very near and this is gonna attract a lot of people.

Very true. Iota is getting into the top 10 coins and it will be a big boost for the Paragon ICO. I think it is hard to get the FDA approval as they ask for ridiculous amount of documentation and the politics is too much in there.

IOTA definitely is huge plus , with smart validation.

As far as FDA goes , only big players can get something trough there . I mean BIG with Billions in their hands.

I made up my mind, I am buying in this project.
First ICO for me which I am buying directly.  Cheers for me  Grin
1525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To Buy BCH or not to Buy BCH? on: September 07, 2017, 10:58:38 PM
I think that the ONLY ONE factor that matters when we talk about the Bitcoin Cash in short term is Mining difficulty.
It was very clear in the past few days when difficulty adjusted in such way that Bitcoin Cash had lower difficulty than Bitcoin.

I haven't figured out if its possible to predict the adjustment to any level , but looking at the market behaviour its seems that it is possible since the price was going up while the difficulty slowly was going down.

1526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it too late to buy NEO? on: September 04, 2017, 08:51:48 AM
Bought NEO in the worst possible time , just 10h before big dip to 19$.
Feel sick over this  Undecided

Did not believe that China would actually do this .
But in any case dont believe it will have a long term impact, will hold for long term.
1527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I buy NEO now and keep it till its rise? on: August 31, 2017, 11:11:41 AM
What happens when China bans all ICO? What will happen to the coins that had succesful ico? If the ICO gets banned, what will happen to all the tokens? Shouldnt we be looking at all this? Most importantly are we going to see price crash in all ERC20 tokens and other coins related to china?

Lets think about the BAN of ICOs.
How can one BAN virtual goods?
You can make a law for this but it is not possible to enforce it.

Even if China makes such statement which i seriously doubt, they cant stop it.
Sure ,theoretically it would bring the prices down in short term because of physiological effect.
1528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it too late to buy NEO? on: August 30, 2017, 11:22:58 PM
Saw the dip and went straight to here, thank for source of China Rumors.

Watching this coin for a while now, on one hand a bit  worrying about the Chinese but on other hand Chinese semi frequently try to suspend or are telling that they will make moves to suspend  crypto markets and related markets.

Also I am starting to be aware of other successful alt-coins with similar essence as Lisk.

To sum up , I will be keeping an extra close eye on this one.
1529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To Buy BCH or not to Buy BCH? on: August 30, 2017, 11:10:52 PM
The price looks interesting to me atm but I really think that as this coin has survived this long and is still trying its best to compete Bitcoins, neither am I saying this in its favor nor am I against it but it is definitely a chance that we should grab because a possible pump may take place for BCH in the future and we should be prepared to get out with the profits at correct time.

It's looking more like "dump" than "pump" at the moment.

The price is holding up, it was only about $200 a few weeks ago. Lets see how it does until the next difficulty adjustment (which should take place in the first week of September).

Have been studying the difficulty of BCH since it is important factor which can indicator of the price.
I understand that there are rules when the difficulty will adjust but since the hash rate is variable , we can only approximate when it will be.

Maybe you have some good source of real time and historic data of difficulty and other characteristics of BCH network which you can share?
I have not been able to find one.
There is this https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin%20cash-difficulty.html  but it seems incompatible  with this https://medium.com/@Mengerian/bringing-stability-to-bitcoin-cash-difficulty-adjustments-eae8def0efa4
1530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 30, 2017, 10:39:36 PM
I still haven't seen a decent argument against XRP. It's just the same stuff going round and round. The latest one to circle back is 'too many coins'. This doesn't make any sense. Yes, there are a lot of coins, that's why the price per coin is so low. Number of coins is utterly irrelevant, it's cap that matters.

Number of coins seems very rational argument of calculating the price of coin.
In the same time cap seems completely irrelevant since it is number of coins times the current value, not the money (FIAT) which is invested in coin.

In my opinion the potential of this coin is clear because of the past price and potential uses in future.

Sold mine a week ago, now thinking when its best to go back in.
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | PARAGON | Revolutionizing the Cannabis Industry | on: August 30, 2017, 12:53:20 AM
Recently read about this project, seems like a solid project and in my mind  cryptocurrencies and pot industry is a natural fit.

Also IOTA involvement is a plus and i am going to invest in it.

As far as I know, Weed business in States have a problem with bank Accounts because of Federal law ,thus they have to keep large amounts of money in cash.
It seems to me that cryptocurrencies could help with this problem.

That being said, is there something in this or other similar project mentioned about this particular problem ( I personally have not seen it) ?
1532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Estonia could offer ‘estcoins’ to e-residents (proposal to issue tokens w/ ICO) on: August 24, 2017, 02:07:58 PM
It's a very interesting concept, I think the fact that Estonia is a technological country anyway really helps, also because it is a relatively small country (in population) it is more viable than a large population. Only time will tell if this goes through or if it will be successful.

I am glad it is not happening in the country i live in, as it is very risky if not implemented correctly.

What do you think is so risky  about this ?
1533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much fiat currency has been exchanged for bitcoin up until now ? on: August 24, 2017, 01:57:32 PM
That the question. Do we actually have any idea about this ?

Recently have been wondering about this also.

The real answer is, we will never know.
But it would be very interesting to have this information.

If we had information about from all the exchanges, we could have some approximate about the real number of FIAT invested.

A common misconception is marketcap is the amount that has actually gone into crypto, but in reality its far far far less because many people hold their coins and even a 10 million dollar investment can push the market cap up a billion dollars in many cases.

Yes, market cap is something completely different from Real FIAT "number".
But if we think about it, the market-cap of stock-market is the same thing, only in this case one would have far better chance of calculating FIAT "number" .
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reasons for most altcoins going down? on: August 24, 2017, 01:33:43 PM
Why do you think altcoins are taking a beating now? Major coins like NEO, IOTA, OMG, PAY and many more lost 20-50% in a really short time. What can be the reasons for this?

Normally alts went down when BTC was on a huge upward or downward trend, but went up when BTC stayed stable. However now it seems completely random to me. What are your thoughts?

Peace

At the time of your post ,it did not seem that random since the BTC was close to its all time high.
Also the Bitcoin Cash was getting momentum.

Thus it seems rational to assume that most f the finds were travelling in the direction of these to currencies.

I think most altcoins are going down because of bitcoin is going up. If bitcoin's value is rising, the altcoin's value will go down so it needs more altcoin to trade in one bitcoin. The higher the value of bitcoin the higher the number of altcoin to trade to bitcoin. It means every value of a single altcoin wil go down.

ETH , Ripple is going up quite steadily in past days not DOWN.
And BTC is not that stable because of the switching between 2 bitcoin currencies.
1535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Estonia could offer ‘estcoins’ to e-residents (proposal to issue tokens w/ ICO) on: August 23, 2017, 08:31:41 PM
What the hell? This is actually real:

https://medium.com/e-residency-blog/estonia-could-offer-estcoins-to-e-residents-a3a5a5d3c894

I honestly hope they're doing it, if only for the incredible marketing that this would bring to cryptocurrencies.

I live in neighboring country of Estonia and recently discovered that they have e-residency available which is a very good idea/ innovation .
And I am exploring the option to use it, only problem with which I encountered that one should pay for address in Estonia to be able to use  the e- residency.

Anyways it is a amazing step forward and if they release the ICO I will definitely buy it because it will be a huge success.
Why ?
1) This is completely unique
2) If there is strong correlation between the e-residency and ICO, it will grow!
1536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To Buy BCH or not to Buy BCH? on: August 22, 2017, 09:33:47 PM
After reading this https://www.coinswitch.co/exchange/btc/bcc/0.1 ,  I was thinking that i should invest in BCH than forgot about that for 4 days.
Was painful to see the rise what was happened in that time period. Cheesy

Was this the real reason why it rise, i do not know.
The difficulty of mining BTC could be also the reason or one of the reasons.

Now thinking that still it should lucrative to invest .
Because BTC has problems and like it or not, they should be resolved, BCH has at least part of the solution

Trying to figure out the best time for investment , if there is such at all at this time.
1537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 22, 2017, 04:45:20 PM
Finally it is rising, I bought in it in the start of the month thinking that stability  in markets after 1st of August will impact XRP positively.

I was looking at good loss in last weeks.

Finally I am in the green.
But in the same time, i do not think that it will grow much  more because of the needed money for this to happen.

Overall i think that the uncertainty in the BTC vs BTC cash is driving people to switch to other currencies as ETH and ripple .
1538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: ETHLend - Decentralized Lending - The Big Bounty Program on: August 19, 2017, 12:21:35 PM
Hi!
One thing is not clear to me.
In the rules the is stated " You must do 50 posts during end of the token sale. "

But in the same time there is something about waiting one week before removing your signature .

The question is.
Do one have to participate in the campaign till the end of ICO sale to get the bounty or can it be for example a month ?

1540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 06, 2017, 08:18:28 PM
I think that is one of the best crypto currencies out there, because it has a good base .
Also it has a good potential to grow even in short term at this time when all markets are seeing upwards movement.

I am banking on this altcoin , bought in few days ago.

Regards,
Martin
