Please link to where CoinBase said they are licensed and regulated in California.

Right here.

"We’re happy to announce Coinbase Exchange, the first regulated bitcoin exchange based in the U.S. With this launch our goal is to bring increased stability to the bitcoin ecosystem.

Coinbase Exchange provides a reliable and secure platform for bitcoin trading that is backed by investors such as the New York Stock Exchange. If you are a Coinbase user in one of the 24 supported U.S. states or territories you can begin trading immediately on Coinbase Exchange."

The list of 24 states includes California.

Damn, you not only wife'd up hard, but looked 10 years older too.
Lucky on inheriting a house that son somehow. Nowadays its so hard to own a house.

She's 14 months older then than I. The new home at the time was purchased via a FHA loan, financing ~$32,000 (payments ~$250/mo) seen here (the address is off, but used such so that the marker lands in front of the middle house: https://www.google.com/maps/place/870+E+Oak+St,+Rensselaer,+IN+47978/@40.9451839,-87.1419698,238m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x88123f354b0ccadb:0x9136608bb7de77b6

Hah I'm not gonna post my family, sory. I don't post my personal stuff on the internet, somebody might use it to make a meme or worse make it look like I'm a passive gay looking for a partner.
Nice photos thanks for sharing are you still married?

Heaven forbid as adults we get mistaken for being passive gay.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to revert Bitcoin transaction. Mind to explain what "mistake" did you do last night? Missclick? The 20 BTC was sent to another address just 7 second after receiving it. https://blockchain.info/address/19wN6jYvQSkW2acaSZXBavYAfde31YJrYJ

I was a bit drunk yesterday. I was trying to purchase 20 Giga Hash (2x10Ghs) hash power. By mistake I selected 20 Tera Hash (2x10Ths) from the drop down and clicked the link and it was gone. My friends told me this is the biggest bitcoin support forum. So if I tell my problem here, they can return my transaction.

Apologize for just getting up to speed, but I think I uncovered a clever way to wash nefariously obtained coins: Purchase from a third-party, or one you own, hashing power. Genius!

A third-party entity probably won't take the time to see where the coins stemmed from because they're happy to just receive a purchase. Hell, even BitPay didn't take the time to see that the coins they sent to BFL were only a hop away from being deposited into BFL's 1QAHV BTW, then used from that address under the guise that it stemmed from HashTrade. BitPay was extremely happy for the PR.

EDIT: After a few hops backwards, I find this: http://www.walletexplorer.com/address/1GNN1Lboxaak3YLafN6o5rUwByYtBBdWht

This is the second time I've come across NitrogenSports.eu. Yesterday, I saw it for the first time doing forensics on BFL's coins after they were returned to them from the FTC. What's noteworthy is that both Sonny Vleisides and Jeff Ownby are well-versed in setting up, maintaining, and scamming millions via online gambling sites, their partnership going back to Sonny's Laissez Faire City days.

15231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BurtW arrested on: January 28, 2015, 06:31:21 AM
I'm a bit perplexed.

I thought bitcoin ownership and conversion is perfectly legal in the U.S.  Or is it a state-by-state basis?

Or perhaps he was just doing this unreported and did not pay a single penny of tax on it? If so, then I have no sympathy for him, that's clearly breaking the law.

Ofcourse thats not a whole story. Seriously think hes only buying and selling for his own investment? Thats what he will use for defense. FEDs might have more than that.

That's what I'm thinking.  Otherwise, FEDs would be having a field day prosecuting thousands of sellers on localbitcoins over the past 2 years.  There's got to be more on this story regarding some deeper illicit activities, and most likely tax evasion on a grand scale  (which, does not matter whether you're selling bitcoins or shit on ebay...you'll eventually get hit)

It is perfectly possible that he traded coins connected to illicit activities, without knowing. Normally people don't talk about that, unless they are really really stupid, or sting agents.

And naturally, the Feds will go after the source.

Another possibility is that they are going for the big fish first, trying to scare the "thousands of sellers on localbitcoins" because it is a bit too expensive even for big government, to send 35 highly paid henchmen after each of them.

This is what the German Bafin is doing, they scare individuals to stop them selling Bitcoins (which is possibly the reason why LBC banned Germany). It is not illegal in Germany to trade BTC without a license on a non-business basis, but the legal threats stop most people because they don't want the hassle and expense.  Sad

It's not really expensive since there is a 1/4 million dollar fine and all his bit coins and money and property will be seized as well as all computer equipment

I think that's more than enough to cover the price of sending some goons to his house for an hour or two so a nice profit to be made busting anyone else who is doing anything "illegal"  in btc

Perhaps, the LEOs think it's more profitable to seize control of one person's assets that are known to have great value than a dozen broke dicks (no offense, for illustration only) selling small amounts of BTC in a park on a regular basis: The former may have a quarter to a full million in assets, where the latter combined may only have tens of grands.

EDIT: Looks like my sentiment was already echoed, and even more eloquently.

Nope! Married on March 24, 1978 (a Good Friday, and there was an ice storm that day where my mom and dad sled into a ditch on the way home, but weren't hurt), and our first daughter was born on April 1, 1979 (known as The Luke Unit Day).

It is not about morals.. it is economics.. if BFL offers a product to compete price wise, they will get orders.. hell I might order from them.

Yeah, that's not going to happen. They have an obsolete design, and no way to fund development of a new design. BFL is finished.

Hi everyone,

I apologize for the lack of updates, and am working to start providing more updates frequently this year.

Dividends are set tomorrow for approximately 1.68 BTC initially (1/15), and an additional 1.00 BTC on or about 1/20 - this is due to the huge loss in BTC/USD today, as I'm working on purchasing more BTC from company funds to increase volume. Additionally, it should be noted that the listing fee for Havelock (the monthly fee we have to pay to list) reduced dividends by 1.82 BTC for the month (the initial dividend was targeted at 3.5 BTC).

I am working on a fully fleshed out P&L statement that should be available on or around 1/20 to disclose company activity in Q4/2014, and will try to also have something for Q3/2014. For the quarter, we did not profit any funds due to overhead, so the funds in the dividend are coming out of reserve accounts as opposed to a 30% cut from profits.

What's Ahead for 2015

The end of 2014 was somewhat rocky for the company as sales dropped in September through November. Due to rising difficulty and decreasing BTC profitability, we struggled to move new hardware from RockMiner, and (also) had to sell most of it at a slight loss.

Because of the nature of new hardware becoming increasingly restrictive, we've worked on new systems to increase profitability and generate revenues. Primarily, we've noticed that many sizable farms have gone under, or are liquidating old hardware in favor of either exiting the market, or upgrading to newer, more efficient systems. This has allowed us to make purchases of old hardware (such as AntMiner S1's, S3's U2s, as well as some ASICMiner and Gridseed equipment) at very cheap rates, refurbishing the units, and re-selling to markets that have new users that are not seeking tangible ROI, but simply want to mine. This has led to a recovery of sales volume in December and in January of this year so far.

Additionally, we're working very hard on negotiations on acquiring the building we targeted last year - 2150 N Court Street. The owners are preparing to either work with us on a lease or land contract which would allow us to move operations for minimal cost.

The primary goal of 2015 is higher dividends for shareholders. My goal is to reduce overhead required to operate BuyAHash to as little as possible, (preferably close to $0 for lease/utilities and staff payments). A sizable amount of funds have to go into overhead (utilities, lease, staff), which is resulting in little additional capital becoming available to grow the company or release dividends to shareholders. Once we move into the new building, we are going to work to sub-lease a sizable portion of non-essential space to offset and remove any overhead costs for BuyAHash. My goal in the 1st half of the year is to try to ensure that little if any money has to go to overhead for the company. We still have a sizable amount of inventory at our company ($15,000-$30,000 depending on market rates), so there is considerable revenue to be generated - as long as its not being eaten by overhead. Once I've worked to ensure that overhead is not eating at profits, I will then work as diligently as possible to put 100% of profits back into growing stock levels, as well as dividends for the shareholders, to hopefully improve share price, and make your investment more and more viable.

I also apologize for a lack of communication for the past 2 months. I've been working a lot to secure this deal at the facility among other company projects. I am, and will continue to be, fully committed to this project for as long as the future can hold it. I am working on new pictures of the facility to give everyone an idea of what space we'll be using for BuyAHash, and what projects we'll likely incorporate to the space we have at the facility.

Thanks for reading!

Got mine as well.

Benny, is it possible to give us a timetable as to when you expect to finalize the move to the new building?

I am waiting on paperwork from the owners. They are either going to sell it to me via land contract, or are selling it to someone I am working with that will (then) lease it to me at an agreed rate. Its taking longer than anticipated which is maddening.. We're ready to move/relocate the moment that the paperwork is signed, but I do not want to move until that is done. Internet has already been run at the new facility, and we just need to put up walls to get it running.

As for the Litecoininvest passthrough - I do not run that. Unless I am forgetting (as its been a few months since I talked to the PT owner), he should be getting divs paid through Havelock which are then turned in to LitecoinInvest. We have another div coming up soon, so that may be why it hasn't been released quite yet.

Looks like Benny didn't win the auction for the property that he once claimed to purchasing outright. I still recall a nonrefundable deposit of thirty grand. I guess that's gone in the wind.

I think you might want to edit a couple words in that post, they are homonyms of the words you meant to use.

Married at 19? Damn, I'm 36 and I've never seriously contemplated marriage. Maybe some day. I'm never buying a diamond ring though. Fuck that.

Thanks for the grammar check, bud. I reread that line at least three times prior to posting, and somehow it still didn't register as being incorrect. Their, its ficked know.  Shocked

Yesterday I saw a man in the news who passed 40 years in the US jail now proven innocent.
Must of been a shit life.  Who was it?

This? http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/judges-70-year-nc-man-wrongly-convicted-decades-28434441

Does anyone know what happened to Phinnaeus Gage?  He hasn't been active since last year July.

PG is still active here but on a different account now.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=349097

Wow, that must suck, a lot.
I read somewhere that gleb was his brother, but why did he use another account?
Edit:didn't see the above posts. Well I hope to see him pay back. What was the of the loan? He hasn't been back yet so I suppose it's large.

It wasn't that large. In fact, I just made a payment and sent him a PM stating such prior to the recent news being released. BTW, it was my idea to offer up PG as collateral to protect his interest, for I'm pretty sure none would've been needed because none was discussed prior to my offer.

Why would he give us math this late at night??
Was that a question or an explanation?

Can I get back to you on that?
Might already be morning for him, don't you know his timezone?
Isn't maths really easy when you understand?
Do you realize that you dont need to do math when you can pay someone else to do the math ?
But what if the math tells him that he would profit more by using the result himself?

how come math would tell him that way ? isnt it true that larger scale means more profitable and larger scale means you hire lot of ppl to do the math instead of doing it all yourself ?
Why should we read your question?

do you feel lucky ?
Why would he feel lucky?

pls explain why wouldnt he feel lucky ?

Maybe he was tired

Seriously, do you seriously believe that Lucky ever gets tired?
Wouldn't you get tired after two hours of that?^^ Grin
