Build Avira rescue disk, boot from it and see what you can find. When your windoze is not running, even the smarter viruses cannot hide.

15303  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What kind od Android bitcoin- Apps do you use? on: February 25, 2016, 03:59:17 PM
I use Digital Currency Widget, it tells me the price of BTC and of the altcoins I need to know.

I don't spend too much, so I don't use wallet on android. Safer too this way.
15304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Secure Big BTC amounts (>50k) one should run 1. own Node, 2. ...? on: February 25, 2016, 03:26:43 PM
I know that erased data can be recovered. But someone needs access to the hardware to recover it. If you use a offline computer that you decide to never give online access again, I do not see the need to physically destroy anything. I really doubt someone is going to kick in my door and say "give me all your hard-drives". And if they do......lets just say I have something waiting for them.

Yes, but you will cry if in a couple of years your son will see some dusty HDDs and will sell them to buy some booze, you know... Smiley
That's why best is to wipe your data before you forget about that.
15305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Secure Big BTC amounts (>50k) one should run 1. own Node, 2. ...? on: February 25, 2016, 03:05:30 PM
Big amounts and small amounts are kept safe in the same way.
If you make yourself a good number of paper wallets and fill them with random amounts, it's already a good start.
If you own a lot of BTC, you can afford the best hardware wallet for the daily expenses.

I suggest you read (a lot) more on this subject, since your questions show that you are complete newbie.

Create a wallet on an OFFLINE COMPUTER.

Destroy hard drive it was created on...
This seems a little extreme to me. I don't see the need to "destroy" everything. Unless you are worried about someone kicking in your door and stealing all your hardware, and if so....you have other issues that need to be addressed.

Actually any deleted file in normal ways is still there on HDD for quite some time and somebody can retrieve it if he has access to the computer.
However, nowadays there are virtual computers you can make, use, then destroy and it's just fine.
Of you can just wipe the free space after deleting the files.
15306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: February 25, 2016, 12:45:13 PM
Is their any safe methods to gamble? Means without losing much of our money can gamble?

Any tips or suggestions?

Yes. Gamble with faucet pennies at freebitco.in . It's the only place I know you are not allowed to deposit. Don't expect to win much though. But it's safe and you cannot lose.
Make sure you never gamble anywhere else, cause you'll start depositing your own money Wink
15307  Economy / Speculation / Re: What caused the recent price increase ? on: February 25, 2016, 12:39:32 PM
I can't seem to understand , It was so stable then suddenly and without anything (nothing that I'm aware of) price increased . If I'm not wrong It was 380$ yesterday morning or the day before it , then at the end of day It reached 410$ ~ .

1. China market has fallen. Some may have bought Bitcoin instead.
2. The normal fluctuations, pump and dump.

It's such a small change you should not care too much about.
15308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoin on: February 25, 2016, 07:13:30 AM
Let's say your altcoin is named ALT.

Let's say 1BTC = X$
Let's say 1 ALT = YBTC

Then 1 ALT = YBTC = Y*X$
1 ALT = X*Y$
Simple math.

Now, this is aproximative, because there's for each one the SELL price and the BUY price. But the difference is not that big to matter.
So if the ALT price in BTC is constant, and BTC price in $ grows, then ALT price in $ also grows.
15309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: February 24, 2016, 09:45:45 AM
no, bank will create own digital currency based on blockchain and will not need anything like bitcoin at all..
Creating own digital currency based on blockchain, it is centralized form of bitcoin. No one will prefer it.
51% mining hash power attack is the another major thread to any private blockchain.

So, banks will be forced to adopt bitcoin, the only choice in front of them. Adopt or die.

Actually coins like XMR, where only the owner and the bank has view keys and nobody else (unless the bank or the owner shares the view key) can see the funds in that wallet could make more sense.
And however, there are plenty of established coins, why pick the most expensive?

But this doesn't make sense. Because the whole idea of these coins is decentralization, meaning the opposite of what banks do.

What banks can do is to use the blockchain. Colored coins, side chains, store of information, even transfer of value... there are plenty of good uses for it.
15310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: February 24, 2016, 09:34:10 AM
It seems that experts say that Bitcoin 'Here to Stay,' But Banks Could Disappear.

"TheStreet: How do you think FinTech will impact the way banks operate?

Frank Schwab: Banks either react on, or they will disappear. Anyway, the consolidation of the banking industry accelerates as the behaviour of people changes. Some banks will benefit from [FinTech], some will be pushed to the back end, and some will disappear."
http://www.thestreet.com/story/13419089/1/bitcoin-here-to-stay-but-banks-could-disappear-says-fintech-expert.html

What's your read on that?

Banks and paper money are the government's tools to protect their politics. If you look in history, paper money decreases the value constantly over long periods of time.
Banks are deeply tied into governments, the only way to make all the banks get extinct is to change the way the politics, the democracy and the governments work.
Some of banking businesses will disappear because of Bitcoin.
However, this will happen in generations, not in a few years, so please don't hope too much Smiley

15311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving has already Begun, Yes or No? on: February 24, 2016, 09:28:33 AM
When I went through various discussion topic. I found certain users has speculated that, the halving has already begun.
Just because of this only we are experiencing a increase in bitcoin price. So need to get much information regarding
the halving. Whether its ongoing or it has not started yet?

Halving means that starting with one certain moment miners will get half of the money they got in the previous days (simplified).
This means that halving happens in an instant, will not get there gradually.

Halving is a very good moment for pump and dump, but on various altcoins it didn't actually affect the price significantly.
15312  Economy / Economics / Re: Where did you first heard about Bitcoins? on: February 24, 2016, 07:02:42 AM
On the news. If I remember correctly somebody stole some big amount of BTC.
It was a few months before MtGox "crash". I even tried to make account there, but changed my mind when they asked for ID scan Smiley
15313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining computer? on: February 24, 2016, 06:55:51 AM
If you only want to learn, try to find an altcoin which is either just started existing, either has a rather small community.

Or you can try XMG, which is designed to drive off the big miners.
Now, laptop is not good for mining, since you'll use it 24/7 and the laptop components are not great on continuous heavy use.
A CPU that can do AES (I think gen 2+ i5/i7) will already do OK. Or a good gaming GPU.

Mining is hard to do. Keep in mind that all this hardware will get you pennies/day and may not pay for the electricity. So it's only for learning indeed.
15314  Other / MultiBit / Re: Can't import .key file. on: February 23, 2016, 06:37:27 PM
Just a thought, please don't shoot me if I'm wrong: maybe it's a MultiDoge key file and not MultiBit?
15315  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best and quickest way to exchange bitcoins for fiat on: February 20, 2016, 08:10:42 PM
Hi everyone,

Just want know the best and quickest way to get bitcoins transferred into fiat please? I would like to be able to get hold of them within a day?

Bitcoin debit card may be a solution, though not the cheapset option....
15316  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wanting to start, again.. on: February 20, 2016, 08:07:38 PM
If your electricity is dirt cheap, you have a small chance for it.
But you'll need the rather expensive hardware....

Please also take the coming halving into account and the fact (not very likely, still not impossible) bitcoin drops a lot again.
15317  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS HeroMember on: February 20, 2016, 07:59:56 PM
Unfortunately for you, bitcoin is 440$, not 250$. And that's how people will do the math....

Good luck though...
15318  Other / Off-topic / Re: windows vista on: February 18, 2016, 12:24:05 PM
I created an account on an old pc with windows vista and now the internet connection is blocked and I can only log to the internet through wi-fi.
Anyone has had this problem before?
Ana

Go to Network and Sharing and see if your network cards are all there and enabled.
Maybe your current OS has no good drivers for your old PC....
15319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google developers about Bitcoin: "The revolution of crypto currency" on: February 18, 2016, 10:35:01 AM
This video and tweet had been shared by google developers yesterday.
Next stop for Bitcoin into mainstream??
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN7cmfoH06w&feature=youtu.be

Wow, this is the best news for me today!
Is this one of the reasons for the new wave of price increase? Smiley

Google keeps an eye on crypto for quite a while (I remember the April 1st Dogengineer ad some years ago too), telling good things about Bitcoins on such a channel is a very big thing.
15320  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I found a bitcoin bank but want to check its validity. on: February 18, 2016, 10:29:31 AM
It offers 12% interest on annual fixed amounts or 0.02% daily.

You may be able to get more than that with rather small effort on Poloniex lending area. And it feels more legit too.
