15321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Advice] Starting a Crypto Project on: March 23, 2018, 06:09:07 PM
A good and original post from a Jr member. Haven't seen that in a while. Here's 2 merits. +

  • Set a project plan
    • One thing I have seen in some of the projects is a lack of a true roadmap and set of goals to achieve. It is imperative that the goals are outlined and updated as needed so the team, and clients, know what to look forward to. I have seen teams work by flying by the seat of their pants. It's not an effective way to get anything done.

What's funny is that, most of the people on most social media sites that have asked me advice on starting a cryptocurrency, doesn't even have a clear goal on what they want to make.

The conversation almost always goes like:

person: hey, I'm planning on creating and running my own cryptocurrency. Can you give me advice?
me: ok. First off, what kind of coin are you planning on making? for what purpose? specifications?
person: I just want to create my own coin, probably like bitcoin or ethereum

15322  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor and Nano Ledger private key security. on: March 23, 2018, 05:47:45 PM
The interface is just a way to interact with your hardware wallet. The device does the signing, so the private keys never leave it.
so even if hackers breached into a PC they would not be able to get the private key because it is simply offline even while my Trezor is connected via USB.

Yes. I'm pretty sure you can safely send a transaction using your Trezor or LedgerNanoS on an malware-infested computer, just make sure that the BTC is actually being sent to the correct address. There are viruses that detects when you copy an address, and when you paste it, it pastes the hacker's wallet address instead. Just take note of that.
15323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Standard chart for bitcoin on: March 23, 2018, 05:37:30 PM
This chart is always correct .
Nah mate, it doesn't mean that you're prediction/analysis has always been right in the past it doesn't automatically mean it's going to be right forever.
15324  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How i can add pictures here? Why this site is so oldschool? on: March 23, 2018, 05:08:47 PM
Why are Newbies so lazy?

Try reading the stickied thread called Newbies - Read before posting. Then, you will have your answers.

Thanks, but this not answerde my question withthis forum is so oldschool and how i can change the Size and the colour of one Text.

Its like 25 years ago.

You need some glasses m8.

To answer your question, it's probably because this forum has so much data in it that it would be a huge hassle to move everything to a new forum software; also take in to consideration the potential huge downtime.

Also, SMF(the forum software bitcointalk is currently using) is probably significantly more secure compared to other forum software like invisioncommunity, though I'm not really 100% sure. Also, SMF probably saves a lot of space too, being sort of light-weight.
15325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How CoinMarketCap manipulates the market by showing fraudulent information on: March 23, 2018, 04:43:30 PM
The market manipulation part is over exaggerated in my opinion. The only possible "price manipulation" attempt I saw was when they removed the Korean exchanges from where they base the prices. Though it definitely affected some people's views on the price, if ever it caused FUD, I don't think that was their intention at all.

Also, use LiveCoinWatch!  Tongue
15326  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: finish college or keep playing bitcoin? on: March 23, 2018, 05:45:31 AM
What the hell do you even mean by playing bitcoin? Didn't know bitcoin was a game. Damn.

If you think you can sustain a longterm stable income using your "bitcoin playing" then sure, but it completely depends on you. Take in to consideration the risks. Also, what made you think that bitcoin will not last forever? Please explain. I'm sure a lot of people can make good rebuttals against your claim Tongue
15327  Other / Meta / Re: accounts that have been hacked on: March 22, 2018, 03:44:59 PM
You'd have to sign a message with the wallet address assigned to your hacked account; to prove that the account is indeed yours.

15328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How dare ETH to scramble for position with BTC? on: March 22, 2018, 09:10:55 AM
Saying "second BTC" is very broad. You can't even replace BTC with ETH, as they're obviously made for two different things. BTC is made as a currency, whereas ETH was made for smart contracts. Saying ETH will replace BTC is like saying that YouTube will replace Windows OS (not an accurate comparison, but you get my point).
15329  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: hw i can open my binance account loosing my autheticator codes? on: March 22, 2018, 06:17:09 AM
Are you use sms auth or google auth? If you use google auth and you still already backup secret key then you can restore it by download google auth and write/scan it. But if you use phone, try this How to Reset SMS Authentication.

If you don't have your backup key, you can possibly regain access to your account through reporting it to Binance support[1]. Expect to provide proof (e.g. IDs, probably a passport, etc) to prove ownership. Goodluck.

15330  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signature Campaign newbie on: March 22, 2018, 05:25:05 AM
Posting on off-topic threads ain't gonna get you anywhere in the first place when talking about signature campaigns. They only count posts on relevant bitcoin/cryptocurrency-related subforums; and you wouldn't get accepted without having good content.

Also, if you haven't heard of the new merit system, read: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0
15331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confused: Twitter Will Ban Ad But Its CEO Said One Single Currency Will Govern on: March 22, 2018, 03:18:31 AM
It's not something weird if twitter ban ads but the CEO believes bitcoin. What is the problem?

If Twitter bans ads, the ICOs, lending websites, gambling website, etc. will be banned. because there are many scammers. And there is no problem with bitcoin.

Yes, you are right. So then the issue will be how those legit projects to promote?

Legit projects can promote through forum/communities like here on bitcointalk and reddit's r/cryptocurrency[1]. If a project is good enough, it will organically gain legitimate publicity. With or without paid advertising.

Unfortunately I can't help you with tips on how to get listed on CMC, but I suggest trying out other price ticker sites like LiveCoinWatch[1] instead, it's actually even better than CMC functionality-wise. And I'm pretty sure a good number of people also use it. Check it out.

15334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Snapchat Confirms It’s Banned ICO Ads on: March 21, 2018, 05:45:08 PM
What is this happening. 1st Facebook the great social media has banned the crypto currency ads, then Google also do this . And now Snapchat has also going on this path. What will happen next. I m scared.

I really don't know how this is even ever so slightly scary. Are you living in a rock or something? Haven't you seen those ads? Full of cloud mining and ICO ads. I honestly haven't seen a single decent cryptocurrency advertisement since forever.
15335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Snapchat Confirms It’s Banned ICO Ads on: March 21, 2018, 05:06:48 PM
Meh. Snapchat is quite irrelevant anyway. Pretty much all significant platforms has banned cryptocurrency ads already. I don't see advertisement bannings getting worse from here. What could be worse? Bannings of crypto-related search results on Google. I really doubt that would happen though.
15336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What ICO investment do you recommend? on: March 21, 2018, 03:55:51 PM
I recommend that you invest in DYOR coin, short for "Do Your Own Research" coin. Investing ain't for the lazy.

15338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe someday there will be clarity about who really Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 21, 2018, 04:46:19 AM
Just accept the fact that he/she/they're not going to expose who Satoshi Nakamoto is. And it's better that way. If Satoshi Nakamoto is still guiding us up to this day, then in a way, bitcoin will be centralized because people will most likely be more biased upon Satoshi Nakamoto's views.
15339  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think it is ok to still keep and claim from faucets using Coinpot wallet? on: March 21, 2018, 04:00:42 AM
Is it ok to leave your coins on Coinpot? Sure. If you're using Coinpot then chances are you don't have much coins anyway, so losing your coins on coinpot doesn't seem to be a huge loss. But ofcourse, sending over your coins to your own personal wallet is still a lot safer.

Do I think it's advisable to use faucets? Definitely not. I'd honestly just work for McDonalds instead of using faucets, as you don't earn much with faucets anyway. I only used to do faucets in the past when I was no so I could try to send and receive bitcoin between wallets; but definitely not as a way of monetization.
15340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what do you think about bitcoin at the moment? on: March 20, 2018, 04:56:45 PM
Currently it's been ever so slightly higher ($8800). I personally think it would move sideways for a while though, probably being stuck at the $7000-$9000 range for a while. Just my guess though, not technical analysis or something. Just a shitty prediction of mine so take it lightly.
