15361  Other / Politics & Society / Re: to Europeans: can you please try explain to me why your countries accept Muslims on: November 17, 2015, 05:30:28 PM
I don't understand how Europeans decided it was a good idea to accept muslim immigrants and asylum seekers, refugees etc etc

can someone explain to me the thought process of how local Europeans and their governments decided being over run by muslims was a good strategy for the future of Europe?

I truly believe Islam is not compatible with democracy and the western world, but that is another debate.

Basically not all of them are bad.
Basically if they would have the means to navigate way to Murica, I'm sure your gov't will also give them asylum.
And, since the "western" population goes older and older, getting some fresh blood in may ensure a good retirement to some.

Another thing is that, in contact with real unrestricted information, some of those muslims have a good chance to wake up from their slumber. I find it a good (though risky) way to reduce the number of terrorists actually.

The problem, as always, stays in the numbers. If the number of immigrants is too big, then they will stay a community and not get "absorbed" by the western civilization. And that's a failure of all the good plans.
And now the numbers are too big.  Undecided
15362  Economy / Economics / Re: I just made my 4th BTC on: November 17, 2015, 11:19:23 AM
I was able to make 4 BTC within one year now , I'm not sure how good or bad this is in your opinion but I can deal with it and I'm happy .
What are your suggestions for me ? I'm not really interested in gambling and wasting my money so keep these kind of suggestions away please and tell me if I'm on the good path or not Grin

First of all CONGRATS! I think that this is a great achievement.
I would have about half of that if I wouldn't have tried my luck "investing" in some altcoins. For now that didn't pay off so I try to also put aside some bitcoin.

Suggestions? You should hold at least half of them. And the rest you can invest.
I think that investing somewhere (a gambling site maybe?) could pay off.
Or you can do lending in this forum.
15363  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cyber war on terrorism on: November 16, 2015, 10:40:19 AM
Well if encryption works, it will work for ISIS too.

Sure... But i think an organisation like anonymous would be strong enough to hit them where it hurts: their social media campaign... They can encrypt most things, but not their twitter and facebook. It would be meaningless if they posted encrypted messages on facebook, because it would be useless as a tool to attract easily brainwashed kids.

Unfortunately most brainwashed "kids" they attract via their priests in various big cities over the world.
But I hope that Anonymous can find out something more, like their servers, if any.
Guerrillas are hard to fight, but I am sure they have some central points of command. If those are revealed and hacked, a lot o interesting info will flood out.
15364  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin go to $500 on: November 11, 2015, 11:55:45 AM
Who sold in the correction??

Now we've going back to $500.

Hold on. Good time for buying.    Grin

Actually I see this as a bubble that's about to end.
Where will it stop? Can be $300, can be $350, can be $200. We'll see.
$500 is a nice target, but .. as you can see it's not sustainable right now.
Let's just hope that'll grow slowly and steadily, and more than $500... even $5000 is possible, but it needs time.

Hi Marco, I just wanted to tell that the payment also got in last night.
Thanks.
15366  Economy / Economics / Re: The truth about the current bubble on: November 03, 2015, 07:54:54 PM
Nope, but it's still rising too fast, something still looks fishy.
And I hoped for some possible answers, not for silly games  Huh
15367  Other / Off-topic / Re: 0.5 BTC reward - smart enough to tell me what is wrong with this book cover? on: November 03, 2015, 09:26:04 AM
1. unlocking digital crypto-currencies <- is wrong as concept and wrongly written.
2. the ants <- they have tails? their eyes are huge...

PS. Isn't this more suitable for "games and rounds"? Maybe it should be moved there.
15368  Economy / Speculation / Re: to buy or not to buy on: October 30, 2015, 09:21:23 AM
I wanted to buy at 250. Until I found the best way to do that it went over 300.
Something is fishy. Bitcoin deserves to rise, but this is way too fast.
15369  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC can reach 1Milion $? on: October 28, 2015, 07:17:41 PM
Some people deciphered too what Nostradamus said when he was drunk.
If you try hard and think of all possible things that could be meaning, you have a good chance to also uncover the truth or at least sell a couple of books.

Now really.....
15370  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary one day? on: October 28, 2015, 07:06:29 PM
It's "somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity" "but the exact point in this range at which you become Legendary is random per user"
So yeah, "random" doesn't like you.
15371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Dollar on: October 28, 2015, 05:58:12 PM
So guys, in a world where the 10% of total transaction are with BTC, what is the advantages for a normal family? What this kind of money can solve? In particular, if some rich don't spend BTC to increase the value and less BTC are spent, how can deflating happen?

Particular, which CONCRETE advantages can the people get from BTC?

Thank you.

The value of $ depends more on politics than industry. And, as some said, USA debt is quite big.
Now, the history shows already how strong was the $ decades ago and if you read the correct papers you'll see quite interesting graphs about how $ value is getting smaller and smaller each year.

Bitcoin is not tied to government politics and it should be more stable.
Also Bitcoin supply is rather small and mining Bitcoin is harder and harder (you should read about halving too) meaning that economically the Bitcoin price should rise.

The problem is that Bitcoin is not actually needed for anything. You need $ to pay your taxes in USA. You can't actually live in USA without $. (Replace USA with any country and $ with that countrys money and you get the same). While money is, in theory, not needed for anything, just try to live for a year without it and you'll see that this is utopia. The government and the current way of economics enforce you to use money. The days when you worked directly for food are over.

But Bitcoin, instead, well.. you can live very well without it. So the only value is now given by the price dictated by a free speculative market.
But again, this happens with gold too!

So, while the gold value is ~ the same over the years, Bitcoin value is expected to rise. Hence the expectations towards Bitcoin.

But for a normal family that goes to work, gets some money at the end of the month and that money barely keeps the family running until next paycheck, I see no advantage from Bitcoin.
I actually see disadvantages, since buying bitcoin gets through fees and buying things with bitcoin is (from my feeling) a little more expensive than using USD.

But if that family has some money to put away, Bitcoin is an asset to think about (though it's a high risk investment!)
15372  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dangerous position on: October 28, 2015, 02:18:19 PM
@NeuroticFish We all know why that happened. We all got goxed by willy bot. We don't want bubbles right? We want a useful tool in a healthy sustainable independent ecosystem i think. At least, that's why i got interested in bitcoin in the first place, at the time many more seemed to share that vision.

The fact that I suspect a bubble doesn't mean that I like it. Sorry if I was not clear.
Some of us want a sustainable coin / ecosystem. Some of us want only to get rich.
And there are the big traders, nobody talks much about them. And I think that they are quite a lot. They make a living from price changes and from bubbles.

I think that most would like BTC to get bigger. Some care if it's in a healthy way, some not.
The history is repeating. The willy bot incident would not be that big - imho - without the human greed.

The only think we can thank for (imho) to willy bot is the current power keeping the blockchain alive.
15373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin 'real money' to you? on: October 28, 2015, 02:03:57 PM
It's more like an asset than money.

Imho a "concept" closer to money would have been dogecoin if it would have had success.
Money need to have much bigger supply, so everybody would afford to have at least 1000 units.

BTC is more like electronic gold. Sounds good too Smiley
15374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dangerous position on: October 28, 2015, 02:01:10 PM
Since BTC is growing quite fast and steadily, I'd (also) suspect a bubble.
However, I don't agree with OP.

First of all, I guess that most people exchanging BTC hope to sell high, before the rally will happen.
Second, please don't forget BTC had its times with 1000-1200$ prices, meaning that - in a way or another - such prices (or even fantastically higher) are not impossible.
There are too many things to take into account, it's not easy to predict a long time evolution.

So the only thing to read here is "keep your eyes open, people".
15375  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Should websites refuse to send coins to an already used address? on: October 23, 2015, 03:44:49 PM
I think most of us know that address reuse is a bad idea and it's better to use a unique one for every transactions to avoid security and privacy issues. If a website owner accepts bitcoin deposits and a user wants to withdraw coins to an address which was already used in the past, should there be a warning or even an error message or would that be too annoying for the user?

I'm curious about your opinions!

Reuse of an address is the sole business of its owner. It's a matter of choice, for most people simplicity is the most important.
So imho, while talking about a coin that's about freedom.. asking about banning / blocking the freedom of choice is absurd.
Hence my answer is clearly NO! No blocking!

A warning can be done, because it helps the users learn and get more aware of what their choices mean. But that's all.

Windows 32-bit binaries (0.8.8, updated: June 11th - outdated and not recommended until the embedded database is released)

This means that until a new release you should not use any Win32 wallet.

The only think I can propose to you if you are in this situation is the web wallet from mymonero.com
15377  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you wish you could buy with btc ? on: October 14, 2015, 09:25:55 AM
A house.
But first I need "enough" bitcoin.
Then bitcoin has to become big enough.

Not that easy....  Undecided
15378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Death of Money on: October 14, 2015, 09:11:20 AM
“Tangible money, old-fashioned money … is a phantom from the past, an anachronism. In its place is an entirely new form of money based not on metal or paper, but on technology, mathematics, and science. This new ‘megabyte’ money is creating a new and different world wherever it proceeds. Money now is an image.”

What do you think of that? What is your position?
Do you believe in bitcoin?
Do you think the economic future is related to blockchain and bitcoin?

I do believe in cryptocurrencies (and bitcoin), also I believe that the money as metal and paper is close to become history.
But the current global decentralized way we have bitcoin is not the way the money will be in the near future. That's because the governments will always want to control their currency. So maybe currencies based on centralized ledgers will be the next step.
Maybe, if human race will become smart enough and we will have one global government and one global currency, that one could look like bitcoin. But that's.. a little too far in the future.

Until then bitcoin can become a stable global alternative. Good for exchange, good for fast sending around the world, good as alternative to local currencies.
15379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN the PORN and GAMBLING future? on: October 14, 2015, 08:56:36 AM
Yes and no .. mostly no.
Some, who don't care much of anonymity and just don't want to show that in the papers from bank will indeed use bitcoin for that. And that's not a big number of people and it's only on short term, I'd say.
Bitcoin is not 100% anonymous and there are altcoins just behind the corner, promising full anonymity. I think that the future of porn and gambling is for that niche, not for bitcoin.

but I'm worried bitcoin will be also the criminals' future.   Undecided

Don't be worried, bitcoin is not fully anonymous. Criminals with bitcoin were already caught, and it's early Wink
I'd be much more worried about .. the other coins, since those can indeed help the criminals and that's a big issue.

I think so since I've also read some articles that including criminals with bitcoins being caught but still I'm worried cuz there are some criminals smart enough to make bitcoins harder to trace Cheesy
Other coins, you mean altcoins? Didn't knew there are altcoins that were more anonymous than bitcoin Cheesy

There are many of them.
First one was Darkcoin (lately renamed to Dash), but also lately it was accused that it's not as anonymous as advertised.
And "lately" the coins based on Cryptonote came around and afaik they have mathematically proven anonymity.
15380  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] How to get $5000 a month on YouTube on: October 14, 2015, 08:52:39 AM
Hi

Just started using this ebook which I obtained for 2 BTC from a man on the net.

Its a very concise pdf on how its possible to still make money on youtube without the aid of google.

I only received it today and it makes perfect logical sense when you read it.

Im just trying to make a little money back on my investment and to see if others would be interested in this method.

For a small amount of 2 BTC you can make $1000s a dollars a money monthly from Youtube

Just making a $1000 would make me happy per month

I slashed the price to only 1.5 BTC for first 5 customers

So why you sitting on your arse when you can be making extra cash each month !!!

http://satoshibox.com/561dfd4e12fb6dfc648b4567

Your post tells clearly that this book is a fake.
If you'd earn so much from youtube you would not need the money you earn from selling this.

I see that you have newbie throwaway account, else I'd bother to also give negative feedback for this.

Well like I said in the post. Just recently bought this yet to try it out and also having a lack of video equipment doesnt help me any other way also I have a full time job and dont really have the time to go shopping for video camera at the present moment.

Aha, I understand. I guess that your job pays you more than $5k per month. And the video equipment also doesn't worth the investment for you, but for others will clearly worth it.
/sarcasm
