At least there is some hope for sanity:

 Grin

I agree, Ethereum is great and all, but it'll never succeed unless Vitalik starts eating more.

I know.

Hey all, I am new to Ethereum.

Anyone got some advice for mining? I have tried using my 860M (nvidia) to mine using geth and ethminer, blockchain is synced, dag is created, but my display driver keeps crashing and recovering every time I try to start the mining, thus giving me 0 hashes. So far I have not found any solutions online. I have tried using the "standard" opencl ethminer and also the cuda version. My graphics card drivers are up-to-date.

Don't mine with a laptop.

Wow, that is the most helpful advice ever. I have mined many other coins with a laptop, works like a charm. I need to monitor heat levels and use a cooler pad of course, to avoid a meltdown.

If anyone is familiar with that particular issue with the display driver versus ethminer, please help.

You're welcome. Your problem might be related to eth mining memory requirements. Post a question here: http://forum.ethereum.org/

I send 0 fee transactions all the time and so far they've always* gone through, so there's definitely still a decent percentage of miners that accept them. The only time I pay a fee is if I'm using a web wallet or phone wallet where the fee is built in, or if I'm sending coin to an exchange to make a trade and time is of the essence.

For the record: Fuck you, roach!

We wrestle not against flesh and blood, Fatty, but against principalities, against the rulers of darkness, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The state of Israel is backed by Satan and everybody knows it.

I think you'll find most in this thread will just nod without a chuckle.

every day without an inch of movement from Blockstream, increases the possibility. The fact that they start bringing up PoW changes when backed into a corner gives even more weight to the idea that they would rather go to war than compromise to 2MB.

Blockstream is moving rapidly on segwit, sidechains, and Lightning.  They are meticulously preparing Bitcoin to be carefully scaled ASAP.

Classic, OTOH, is spreading '2MB? Not much testing needed' nonsense.

And yes, we will "go to war" to defend Bitcoin's diverse/diffuse/defensible/resilient characteristics, from which its key interesting property of antifragility emerges.

Whine about it all you want.  Nothing you do can move our Honey Badger's needle one iota.  You have no power here.

You're the one whining. We're winning.

the tide is turning. Smiley

Only in your mind.

In reality, the community has rejected XT, Unlimited, and now "Classic". Your move.

Forget it. You'll get a hard fork to 2 MB this year.

Still using the Goebbels approach, Zara?  ("repeat the lie so often that it becomes the truth")

* is #REKT

Keep at it; not long now

No, bett.

*that-threatens-bitcoin is #REKT. Inherently.

That's another one from the Goebbels school, eh bett? Exaggerate your adversary's position out of all recognition... And I always thought you occupied the reasonable-middle-ground?  Wink

Is this an attempt at irony? Now you are repeating lies in the aforementioned fashion. Although I'd settle for a less controversial manipulative populist, like Donald Trump.

Sometimes,
I find another world inside my mind.
When I realize the crazy things we do.
It makes me feel ashamed to be alive.
It makes me want to run away and hide.

-chorus-
Its all about the money,
its all about the dum dum duh dee dum dum.
I don't think its funny.
To see us fade away.
Its all about the money,
its all about the dum dum duh dee dum dum.
and I think we got it all wrong anyway.

We find stranges ways,
of showing them how much we really care.
When in fact we don't seem to care at all.
This pretty world is gettin out of hand.
So tell me how we failed to understand.

-chorus x2-
Its all about the money,
its all about the dum dum duh dee dum dum.
I don't think its funny.
to see us fade away.
Its all about the money,
its all about the dum dum duh dee dum dum.
and I think we got it all wrong anyway.

In demolition there is a term which makes physicists tear their hair out. It's called a "Building Implosion". Demolition engineers like to explain to people that when they blow up buildings they don't actually explode, they implode. But the fact is that there is no implosion occurring. A "Building Implosion" is a series of timed explosions which causes the building to fall in on itself. The word "implosion" walks away unschated.
A bomb explodes, as the air around it implodes. A submarine implodes, as the water explodes into it.
All a matter of perspective.

no

Nope, the explosion compresses the mass, causing it to implode which leads to the nuclear material achieving critical mass, which leads to messed up hair and eerie tone cluster compositions by poles.

What does his have to do with Bitcoin? Destruction, demolition, doom, helplessness and disease (err... dis-ease).

@2112: You should go and edit Wikipedia, too. They need you!

I hope he embraces his non-offensive interpretation of the word and starts using it consistently. He can report back how long it took before he got punched to the ground.

That doesn't change the meaning of the word. It creates an industry specific term which is not applicable in other contexts.

Are you available for parties?

The word party has several uses...blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla

We are not talking about card game shilling.
Jeez, dude, read all the way to the end, would ya?

Shilling (both openly and surreptitiously) is widely used in the various branches of the entertainment industry. Not only gaming (also called gambling) but also e.g. sales of equipment to musicians or filmmakers.

Do I need to enlarge the font in the last sentence? Or maybe change color?

I see your words, but all I can find from other sources is that casinos used to hire shills in the correct sense of the word, but that the authorities now demand full disclosure.
