benjamindees, I'm just going to ask this one more time and I demand an answer:
WHAT IS THE BITCOIN CONNECTION WITH THE COLORADO SHOOTING?

This thread has been off-topic for 15 pages. I advise you to lock it after you answer me, because one or both of the following will happen:

1- Thread will be moved to the trashcan for being utter off-topic nonsense
2- You will be banned for being a crackpot troll

PS: Threads posted on Off-topic have a topic, and it still needs to be followed, so, don't even try to go that way.
Option number 1 please.

I keep seeing this awful thread in my new replies list and I am unable to help myself.

Btw, Bitcoinmax has applied interest so Pirate may be in the process of paying now.

no, those are only database entries... haven't received BST payout yet.
Ah, thanks for the correction.

got liquidity problems intersango?
I imagine this is more about fraud prevention rather than liquidity.

Cool idea Smiley

I would deposit if you lowered the minimum to 10 BTC.

Sorry, only doing multiples of 50 btc for now. It's really too much work do anything smaller as I don't have something automated set up.

By the way, Pirate has not paid out interest today. I will send payments as soon as he does.
No problem, I understand. I'll just have to get some more BTC together Smiley

It would actually make sense if it turns out that lots of the conspiracy nuts are really disinformation agents of the government (or of some other powerful entity or group) that intentionally mix valid and crackpot theories together and spread tons of completly bogus theories in order to make it harder for real whistleblowers to be taken seriously...
That is far more likely than the shooting being staged.

Only in your limited paradigm. You still believe what you see on TV, you'll never know the truth. The media isn't biased, they completely fabricate stories.

But I guess you still are suspending reality to believe that aluminum planes can slice through a cement and steel building and then collapse them. You're fuckin retarded and don't know it.
Your paradigm is limited to what Alex Jones and David Icke tell you. Well done on not being a sheep! Only a sheep would form their world view from more than a couple of dodgy internet sources.

One day you'll realise what a tool you've been. Either that or you'll just become more and more of a crackpot.

Sadly, I know you mean well. You're just really impressionable.

I've put you on ignore now as I can't be doing with 'debating' these topics. It just makes me sad to see such garbage on such an intelligent forum.

Hey crypto, what's wrong with the "He's a psycho" theory?
Obviously that's much more unbelievable than a complex conspiracy theory involving hundreds of people that would unravel with just one weak link.

The way its been told is WAY more unbelievable than cops and the media making shit up. That's probably why there are thousands if not millions of people who don't buy it.

Unravel with one weak link? I don't think so. There already are weak links like the doctored evidence picture of the gas mask (look that one up). The reason it won't unravel is that most of you will continue to believe the lie even when evidence to the contrary is right in your face.
All it would take is on whistle blower to blow the whole thing wide open. But it won't happen, because there is no conspiracy.

Your burden of proof is so low and your logic so crazy that it scares me.

There were some inconsistencies in some statements = the government did it!

People being interviewed weren't weeping like in the movies = they're actors!

I have a friend like you on Facebook - they post all manner of crazy things they have learned from the same websites (Info Wars etc.). What really annoys me is that amongst all the rubbish they post, there are a couple of things that, yeah, people should be up in arms about.

But you turn people off with your unfounded and crazy theories. You help the government and powers that be get away with things that are actually happening - they love you to be wasting your energy to things like this when there is REAL corruption going on.

I spoke with support at MtGox regarding UK transfers a while back, since faster payments show up instantly I was wondering why I didn't get credited for 2 days. I was told that as they are based in Japan it takes longer for the payment to show in there account...?
I don't think that's quite true as the account we send the Faster Payment to is UK based.

Quote
For really fast trades there are a few guys on here and OTC that do UK Bank > Bank transfers, did my first trade this way on here today and from first pm to coins in wallet it took maybe 3hrs so that's always an option if you need the coin fast.
Thanks for the tip  Smiley

Yeah didn't make much sense to me either since my transfers to my partners account (Barclays > Barclays) show up within seconds, just dug up the reply I got from support.

Mt.Gox Support, Dec-20 10:04 (JST):

Hello,

Usually it takes another business day for the information to be released to us from Barclays (as we are in Japan and we are in a different time zone). However, we will notify you once your account is credited. Thank you for your patience in the process.

Thanks,

MtGox.com Team

Was using Intersango until recently since they had a much faster turnaround 2-10hrs usually, but after the recent problems and having my funds still tied up in there 10 days after a transfer I think im going to stick to trading on here.
Cheers for digging that out.

I guess while the money is credited instantly, they get sent the list of transactions in daily batches in order to apply them to MtGox. Due to time zones this can take slightly longer than expected.

Heh, account verification to withdraw GBP would be fair enough. But for BTC? That's riduculous... It's not even a real currency technically, about as real as WoW gold.

You call verification for BTC transactions as "riduculous" and then...

And yeah, I have heared that if you're using a particular VPN, they will ask for ID regardless.
I think we all know why.

...accept it as a fact. Where you heard that? What particular VPN? Please explain you post or get used to being ignored, http://pastebin.com/irj4Fyd5

FYI, I just bought some coins on MtGox - I sent the transfer Wednesday evening and it showed early this morning.

Annoyingly, they asked for account verification when I tried to withdraw the BTC. I've uploaded the documents, now it's just a waiting game.
It was large BTC quantity? If you don't mind answering
No, it was only a small amount, so I thought I would be fine.

Without thinking I had my VPN running (as I do 99% of the time anyway), so this may be why?

If anyone has insight into how long verification can take I would be interested to hear.

The verification process can take as long as two weeks, it depends on your luck Smiley

You got some kind of warning for using a VPN? Sorry to bother with my questions, but I find the issue intriguing.
Just as an update, I received an e-mail today confirming I was verified. I have now withdrawn my BTC and feel confident to use them over Intersango for now.

I have asked them for more details on the possible VPN issue, but I'm still waiting to hear back.

1555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins have been stolen in total? on: July 30, 2012, 01:28:53 AM
As I read more into Bitcoin, the topic of theft comes up often. How much has been stolen in total?
Many have been stolen.

But it's worth remembering that every single theft could have been prevented.

I will go to the cinema and watch the Dark Knight Rises, for if I don’t, they win, and we lose.

In my opinion, the government is behind all this and if you go to see that movie, they win.

I think they did this whole thing as a ploy to:

1.) promote the movie
2.) use the shooting as a way to enforce stricter gun laws in the USSA
3.) use the shooting as a way to put through the "Obama Care" health plan, because of the stories about the "victims" not having health care

I think everyone in that particular theater where the shooting took place, was an actor.  If the showing was "sold out", that means that they had an opportunity to have all the tickets to that cinema pre-sold.

Either that or they actually did shoot those innocent people.  If that's the case, I think he was brainwashed by the government to pull off that act.
You're joking, right?
