Um, do you mind sharing what makes this particular coin an error coin? No details are mentioned, and the obverse looks perfectly normal.
Ok this coin was funded more by CI, digitally valued at more than 10k doge coin. So the coin got dusted with a little bit more? Don't take this the wrong way, but it doesn't seem like an error coin.

What will be the purity of the gold plating and how many grains do you expect to plate on each piece?
My guess is that it week be 24k gold but it would be an insignificant amount of gold. Gold plating uses very little gold.

About the design. Can I suggest like 2 pickaxes like in an X shape with a BTC logo on top between the cross.
I'm also for making it a little thinner and a bit bigger.
I'll PM you again about payment shortly.

5oz with gilt BTC and some other gilt bits might look really good depending on design.

Not sure if you guys realize but running a small batch of 50 pure silver bars would be pretty expensive. The end price point for each would be around $250 for a 5 oz bar or $500 each for a 10 oz bar.
If this revelation didn't kill 99% of the interest in such a product I would be shocked - but this is why you do not see such a product in the market at this time. I am as always willing to do this but would have to go the preorder route as I would not be willing to devote this much capital into such a project - plus my wife would kill me lol.
Well Ognasty is selling 5oz silver rounds for 400$ each. At 250$ for a 5oz bar, that still sounds like a reasonable deal.

I am looking into a BTC bar option now but it would be copper/brass alloy that is plated in either gold or silver like the Ether and DRK pieces. Size would be 2" in diameter. This does not exactly match the described ideal that I have seen in this thread so far so please let me know if this is of interest or not. I will elaborate on price point as I work out more details but shouldn't be too much more than the Ether and DRK lines (will be a bit more due to larger size and shape).
Just my 2 bits. A gold plated copper alloy bar doesn't sound bad, but 2" is pretty small. A 6" by 1.5" sort of shape/size is good. thoughts?

Something a little different. A bitcoin bar. Casascius was the only one to make these, I'm sure you could up the game!
Ok, added to the poll. Thank you for the suggestion ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Technically, F*D made a bar with their Cryptogenic Bullion. But perhaps a bar in a different form...more Casascius-looking in that its longer, and gold plated Longer, bigger, heavier with a nice big bitcoin sign. Glit silver would be pretty nice I think.

There's a Mexican, an Asian, and an American in a plane. The Mexican throws out beans, and says "I have too many of these in my country." The Asian throws out rice and says "I have too many of these in my country." The American throws out the Mexican and says............. "He fucked my wife"

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I'm reading over them all again to think about them more critically. I have thought about this too for a while since I was also considering making some coins just for a bit of fun.
So it really bothers me that people can know the private keys on the coin. My naive solution to the problem would be to video tape literally every single step for private key generation, blur out the actual private keys when generating it and then show on camera that you completely destroy all private keys and any evidence of private keys.
y/n?
edit: and of course this also covers the case where the maker may just rip off the stickers after the video and then generate new private keys, since you can video the public key, and then verify that you are infact selling coins with the private keys you generated on camera.
hehe suckers Well I meant like from actual key generation where you blur it out from then till you print and you still blur it and burn/shred it. But yeah, it's way too labour intensive, but definitely a good way to be open.
