15403  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: October 27, 2015, 07:44:21 PM
Evening all,

First post and all that, but have been following this thread for months now,

Do we know of the possibility of a group buy being set up? or is that out of the question.

I currently run a number of Spondoolies-tech SP3x series and would like to keep buying their kit due to the unrivalled build quality and form factor.

Kinda a guessing game when buying second hand kit.

Regards
Alex

I would LOVE to setup a group buy, as I think that is the only way I would get my hands on one of these machines.  The problem is that 1) without a published price, it would be impossible to arrange 2) without having all of the group buy participants and money together, SP won't acknowledge that I want to place an order and give me the necessary information 3) without SP giving their approval, I can't even say that they will sell to me if I did get 15 buyers together who wanted to purchase.

It appears the impression is that the units will sell for between 30-45K each and will be available in Q1 of 2016.  I would say if there's genuine interest among a dozen people who have that kind of $, I would love to host a group buy.  Unfortunately, I think it would have to be done blindly for the buyers, without knowing the actual price until all the BTC is collected and a deal has been made with Spondoolies.

In short, if you want 1 of these units, have ~$40K sitting around, and want to pledge it for a group buy of one of these machines, feel free to drop me a PM and let me know.  If there were a dozen people, I think it would warrant a conversation between myself and Spondoolies.

As mentioned, jtoomim would make for a great choice to host a GB as well, and I would be interested in joining that if it were made available also.

Here's the final graphic for the front of the coin.
(the one posted in the OP was a draft)
Happy bidding!  Only 24 more hours to go!

15406  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 27, 2015, 01:15:03 AM
I wanted to post my recent experience with Bitmain.  After having a brand new unit's controller die within the first days of use, I contacted Bitmain and was less than pleased by their proposed solution (ship the entire unit to China and wait for a response).  Thankfully, I stumbled upon the Bitmain USA team and contacted them.  They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with the resolution, and I am appreciative for their assistance.  I highly recommend dealing with their USA team out of Denver to make your life easier when dealing with Bitmain products or services.  Here's their number.  (844) 248-6246

A rough draft...  Is this more along the lines of what you were hoping for?

That is sweet and I really like how you put the gold accent in the drips as well.

Thanks.  I just got the final image back from the artist.  He thought some unique gold drips would give it a better look.  If there are no more complaints, I believe this will be the final design.

15408  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Casascius Void Coin on: October 26, 2015, 11:44:00 PM
Surprised noone else has stepped up saying they have one of these bad boys - whether for sale or not. Makes me think more rare than I first thought, or in the hands of people who may not 'really' know what they have, and who arent active 'coiners'. The distribution channels for these were not the normal for cas coins - generally meet in person, hand to hand exchange, potentially people from mainstream media - whether financial, technology, or just general news. I would love a link to any news articles / paper based media where these coins were pictured as part of the story, would add nice provenance to the coin. If anyone has one, I would appreciate it.

If they were mostly given away to media, I am sure they probably opened them up to see how they worked before throwing them away.
15409  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: October 26, 2015, 08:58:33 PM
Bitcoin is an easier pick, its easy to store and you can buy products with bitcoins, gold is expensive to store and you will need to change to coins before to buy anything.
Gold doesn't deteriorate so you could bury it. that's not expensive to store  Wink

Also, walk into a pawn shop with a full Bitcoin wallet and a piece of gold.  See which one is able to get you a bottle of water.
15410  Economy / Securities / Re: [Joint-Venture Proposal To Investors] Earn High-$X,XXX/Month With Me. on: October 26, 2015, 07:44:20 PM
His thread says you can make 21,000 a month. Guy needs 200 dollars to start his business...

*sniff* *sniff*

Nope, didn't pass.
15411  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: NAMG - North American Miner Group - New Concept, NEED INPUT from YOU! on: October 26, 2015, 06:02:28 AM
Your idea sounds a lot like NastyFans, only NastyFans gets revenue from other sources than mining and all electrical costs are voluntarily paid by members through donations.  Check it out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=86854.0
15412  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 2oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seat w/ Gold Highlights on: October 25, 2015, 10:12:42 PM
I should mention that these 25 gold highlighted coins will be the rarest NastyFans Minted Seats to date and only 12 more are currently available for sale.
15413  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Casascius Void Coin on: October 25, 2015, 07:38:00 AM
I didn't know these existed either.  Seems I can never collect them all!

Anyone know what the s7 firmware updates have included? There are no release notes..

Antminer S7 - Firmware

Also, I wonder why they are deleting posts? I had a post that I have on another tab that was simply deleted. Seems odd... BTW, cryptoGlance for managing miners rocks!

I installed them on my farm, one was in a weird state afterwards, but recovered after a soft restart of the controller.

edit:

I have noticed a more stable variance after updating to the 600M firmware on their site. I had two s7's that were all over the place, so that makes me happy. Smiley

Ufo

WELL, the new firmware is supporting a possible new product, maybe in the next week.  What about current B2/B3 products?  Will they still be sold for the higher hash rates?

What makes you think it supports a new product?  Why are there multiple different firmwares for different frequencies?  Is the only difference the default frequency?
15417  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats (Gold Version 13/25 Left) on: October 24, 2015, 09:50:39 PM
How many more preorders are needed before you feel you have enough to go for it Og ?

I would like to have them all sold.  There are currently 13 remaining.  I do not want to place the order before November.  Hopefully a few more folks will get their orders finalized in the next week or so.
15418  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: October 24, 2015, 09:43:12 PM
I noticed something the other day when going thru my nasty coins. I have a 1oz minted seat that doesn't have the center raised up, like all of my later minted seats. Could I have a rare coin?

Only the first 150 1oz Minted Seats came with the light diffusing insert.  The ones with the raised center will eventually be the rare ones.  Smiley

We have just surpassed 150 minted seats.  The final 350 1oz minted seats will not include the light diffusing insert.
15419  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats (Gold Version 14/25 Left) on: October 24, 2015, 04:29:58 PM
I was hoping there would be more gold highlight on the front.  Not sure where it would go based on the design.

I was worried that too much gold would take away from the beauty of the silver coin...  Is more gold something people want to see?

I would think it to be a welcomed change.   Smiley

A rough draft...  Is this more along the lines of what you were hoping for?

15420  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: October 24, 2015, 02:24:26 AM
Anyone in need can grab a custom NastyFans mousepad for $0.99 with free shipping using the below code.  Expires 12/14/15.
Ah man, I should have ordered this, instead of a mousepad with a "Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl"-design. I mean, that is still pretty cool, but this is so much cooler.

No kidding, I should buy a bunch for at work. We can't even get them at that price!

I wonder how many can be purchased with this code. If not multiple in one order, maybe multiple orders would work. I haven't bought mine yet but will soonish.

You need different IP addresses (TOR will work) and email addresses.  Payment and shipping addresses can be the same though.  Wink
