15441  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate womens to use Bitcoin? on: August 28, 2015, 03:43:45 PM
how we could motivate women to use Bitcoin because I tried several times to explain what it is and how to use Bitcoin ...was very difficult and have not really managed only once ..

If you talk about mining, technology, ASIC, .. they'll surely get bored.

You have 2 chances:
* start with... colored coins!  Grin  Grin  joking, there is only one chance:
* give them a good amount - at least 5 BTC and tell it's real money with real value. And show how it can be spent. Now they have your attention and you can give some technical from time to time, but not too much.
15442  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Austrian police fear as many as 50 migrants dead inside lorry on: August 28, 2015, 03:38:41 PM
I am perplexed at the fact that these refugees are heading towards the European Union. Countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar are very near to Syria, and they are much richer than these eastern European nations such as Hungary and Bulgaria. Why risk you lives getting into Europe, when you can travel to Saudi Arabia much more easily?

Quite a lot of them are expecting to get some free money in countries like Germany, also in countries like Saudi Arabia they have to work much harder for a decent living.

What I don't understand is how the heck they just go with the first that promises them to get them there.
They should use better their brains and think of safety too, gambling their lives too many times.. turns out with some unfortunate events too.
15443  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: which site is the best for mining? on: August 27, 2015, 08:23:40 PM
which site is the best for mining?

If you want to mine Bitcoin with your computer, you are a couple of years late. You would need to buy ASIC, which may or may not pay for the electricity and make profit. Usually may not.
If you want to try out cloud mining.. that's debatable.. some claim that all are ponzi schemes. There are many scams and even if you find a good one, the profit is not great.
So unless you have free power and a warehouse of ASICs, I'd advice you not to mine Bitcoin. If you want some, better buy.

If you want to mine with your computer for learning purpose, I suggest you try to mine some altcoins. Which coin? Pick one with friendly community, for start.
If you want to make profit from mining, you should research and find the altcoin that you cam make profit on. And you have a slight chance if you have a state-of-the-art GPU and you want to mine with it.

After all this, you can search for "best site" for mining, but usually all are the same and the coin list them in its OP.

15445  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: August 27, 2015, 06:15:31 PM
Most tell that the exact price doesn't matter at all. But I can bet that if the price would rise, even with "1 satoshi" every now and then without falling much and often, the "adoption" would be skyrocketing.

Of course, such things are not healthy for stocks, but for bitcoin which has actually a very limited supply, this should be normal.
But our calculations don't match with "theirs" (the ones that do the big transactions).

Most tell that price doesn't matter, but if the price falls too much too many miners could give up weakening Blockchain security and/or increasing block times too much (if too much hash power is lost in very short time).

So let's face it: bitcoin is a business for too many, so the price does matter.
15446  Other / Off-topic / Re: uTorrent Quietly Installs Cryptocurrency Miner on: August 27, 2015, 06:06:34 PM
This was a news back in April-May.
Since then all uTorrent users that read the news have migrated to something else.

qBittorrent was the choice I liked and I use now.
15447  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-27] Does XT make Mike and Gavin dictators? on: August 27, 2015, 05:29:57 PM
People may disagree even after years of marriage, really.

There are 2 possible "sane" motifs behind an action:
* it suits them better
* they believe it's the correct way

While "the correct way" can publicly argued, the other part is usually hidden.
I think that the XT story has a lot of both.

Dictatorship is imho on a "sane" motif and I'd rule it out.
15448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best bitcoin wallet? on: August 27, 2015, 05:22:54 PM
I use the older MultiBit and unless you really need to do "big things" I don't advice you to get core client.

Yes, core client is the best, the safest, the first up-to-date and so on, but it makes you download and keep locally the blockchain.
And that's big. So for start I recommend any of the "light" clients you want. Wait for more input and pick one!

and I'm open for suggestions regarding hosting the file. I've heard rumor that mega's not the place to drop files anymore, so i came across this:

http://wikisend.com/

http://drop.io/

always wonder how these sites do it for free. Maybe they're using the slack model, where you become dependent on the data you've hosted with them and BAM they go surprise, you gotta pay for access now!!

Depends how big a missive is, but especially if you want to share only the last one, a solution can be any (?) cloud storage.
At least Dropbox and Tresorit have functionality to share links to files (or folders).
15450  Economy / Speculation / Re: This drama is ridiculous... on: August 27, 2015, 04:09:40 PM
ehm i think many are dumping to take profit not bitcoin of emotion, simple has that, i think that many long term holder are also shorter who, from time to time, short the hell out of their coins to earn even more coins for their long term purpose

standard market flow, nothing to see here, i would disgregard any of those crash, the only two things that matter are the crash that may kill bitcoin and the rally that will make it the king of all currency, all the other are pure swing

I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of seasoned (wall street?) traders have here a dozen accounts each and earn nicely from posting various rise or fall threads at the right moment(s).
Even tiny changes can be turn into money. And Bitcoin's fluctuation from 200 to 300 and back is about 50%! Quite an opportunity for the ones who know the game.
15451  Economy / Speculation / Re: This drama is ridiculous... on: August 27, 2015, 02:17:11 PM
Almost nobody has patience nowadays. Get used to that. And in this forum (and BTC world) almost everybody wants to get rich quick.
If one would just believe in BTC would only have the amount for tests and normal use and would not care about the current price.
But with all just "buy and hodl", what would you expect Smiley

And the drama is good, actually. At least people talk about Bitcoin. Wink
While people talk about it, we know it's here, "alive", up and running. Don't complain, please Smiley
15452  Economy / Speculation / Re: After the BlockSize Fork To Da Space!! on: August 27, 2015, 09:41:35 AM
i think you need to wait until the whole consensus thing is well established and the new fork is set, until then there will be uncertainties, not so easy to get out of this storm

the halving is the only thing that i see, that can put a good pressure for a likely increase...

The halving, a smooth fork, world wide economic collapse, fall of the US dollar, bank runs all over the world, lots of things...

Wrong .. BTC is better and good in a rich world ..................

If the dollar will fall (which some imply) Bitcoin price will rise a lot.
Just its value.. will be just the same Wink

15455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stock market CRASH - Bitcoin price?! on: August 24, 2015, 03:19:42 PM
For most, all crypto scene is just something to invest in. Some sort of odd stock market they don't understand.
Some will cash out crypto in the same way they sold their stocks.

Let's hope the panic will not last long...

someone thought xmr was apple?
Any thoughts on trendline now?

For most people, crypto is "some sort of stocks".
And ... the stocks didn't have a great day today.

15457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLE OR INVEST? on: August 21, 2015, 02:29:59 PM
to all of you guys.. what do you think is better? is it to invest or to gamble in sites? tell me your point of view and why.

Depends on what you want to achieve.
If you want to have fun and spend some time, then obviously gamble.
If you want to try (yes, try, because there's still a risk like in any investment) to earn some money, then obviously invest.

I like to gamble from time to time but it can quickly turn from fun to a drama.
I'd invest, although there's a lot of uncertainty in the crypto world right now.

If it turns into drama, then you don't afford to lose the money you gamble and you should stop gambling.
And if you don't afford to lose money, then you should also not invest, because an investment means some risk too.
15458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you use old Bitcoin if XT wins? on: August 21, 2015, 02:16:08 PM
I think that the exchanges will "decide" for us which one to use.
If majority will keep good old Bitcoin, we will all still use it. Else, Bitcoin may become a piece of history and XT may actually be (or not?) the first altcoin to take its place.

What if exchanges will all start using LTC, or DOGE, or DRK, XMR, ETH, or.. name it.. as main crypto currency?

15460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: August 21, 2015, 12:51:15 PM
My biggest problems:

1. It cannot be mined by a normal user with just CPU (and I missed those day, sigh...)  -- I should not complain, but since you asked...

2. It doesn't evolve, it's not fixing its new problems (the software should not allow a miner get the founder fee if it doesn't process most possible transactions too).

3. I don't have enough Bitcoin Smiley
