15501  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: [ANN] MinerFarm - Virtual Mining Game for Real Bitcoin on: September 17, 2015, 08:55:35 PM
For instance, if I was so inclined, I could open a pool with zero fees and generate a massive following and monopoly of users.  At this point, it just seems like "here's a list of pools, and everyone joins the cheapest one".

Kind of like RL.

Not really...because in real life there is more to pools than fees, but In the game, comparing pools consists only of fees.  In real life, I have lots of options for mining pools, including some with low, low fees, but I choose one with fees because their features justify it.  In the game, every pool has the same general feature set.

In real life, sure pools can come along and undercut fees, but there's so much more to it than fees in real life.

Pools in real life can have forums and unique features or generate income in other ways, like advertising.  So a pool in real life might say, we don't have any fees, but then put in ads to subsidize.  Or pools in real life can expand to new coins or mutlicoin scripts.

All I'm suggesting is that if pools in the game are going consist of comparing merely fees, I think to entice more investors into the game, there needs to be a way of controlling users coming and just spending .05BTC to run a pool with zero fees for the hell of it.

It remains to be seen if there is any kind of marketing advantage to running a pool on MinerFarm.  So far I have not seen any additional users to NastyPool in real life, so I assume the advantages are most likely not worth the ongoing fees.  You never know though...  As we march towards lower fees and increased pool competition, I am curious how things will pan out.

NastyPool is once again the lowest fee pool in MinerFarm.

When I see expected payout for this round does it refer to the 7 day payout period?

I'd have to know where you're seeing this to know exactly what it is.  I believe you are referring to the miners page though, and that the expected payout per round is for the current p2pool block.  Meaning you should see higher earnings than that per 7 day payout period, as we are currently expecting to hit a block every 2 days and 15 hours.

What? A brand new account selling high value items without any proof of ownership and not wanting escrow?

What on earth could go wrong........ Roll Eyes

Mods need to start being more liberal with the ban hammer and raising fees for TOR users.  I think 70% of the posts in this section are blatant scams by lazy teenagers.  It is starting to have a negative effect on the user experience here.
15504  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: September 15, 2015, 07:20:58 PM
I think the could do an S5+ like very easy.

I think they already use the s7+

When the shipping will begin, they will pull the data cables from the 1/3 of s7+, slap a controller on it and ship it as an s7!

Thanks for catching typo I meant S7+.  And I would agree send 2 more modules and it is a S7+ kit, with some cables.

Or they do the 3 together latter on and call it S7+.   And they get a little better efficiency.   I have a feeling that S7 or S8 will be last 28nm for bitmain.  They sure are milking every drop out of those nm chips.

Judging from the controller failure rates we've seen with the S5+, I think that 3xS7 units is the way to go anyway.  The last thing you'd want is 13+TH/s tied to a single controller with a tendency to fail and a several month wait for an RMA...

15510  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: [ANN] MinerFarm - Virtual Mining Game for Real Bitcoin on: September 14, 2015, 06:39:39 PM
question for OP,  are there actual miners?  like per say a real cloud mining site where you buy rent hardware? if would be good if we got more responses to some questions. I my self have 30 GH/s in total but want to know some of these things before I can purchase more.

No they are not actual miners, everything in the game (miners, coolers, engineers, technicians) are virtual. But the Bitcoin is real.

Is there anything like advertising revenue that will provide additional BTC to the game?
15511  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 1oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seat on: September 14, 2015, 05:24:47 AM
Why is it referred to as a "seat"?

It sounded like a good way to express membership of the fan club.
15512  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 1oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seat on: September 13, 2015, 12:36:30 PM
@ OgNasty ... to get a better Idea over the Fanclub, is there something else to read in addition to these?:

... or am i up to date after reading this, and can ask questions if theres something unclear?

That's a good majority of the available information.  There are a couple more threads like those for the 1g coins, iOS, & t-shirts.  Links can all be found in the main NastyFans thread.  Questions are welcome in any of those threads.

There are also a couple 3rd party sites to take a look at:

Any proof you have these and is escrow accepted?

Escrow with Ognasty accepted.

Make sure that escrow payments to me are sent ONLY to the address in my signature.  Watch out for impersonators.  Trade safely!
15519  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: September 13, 2015, 01:19:51 AM
It may very well disappear tomorrow.  I did not risk any Nasty funds on the site.  It looks well done and a good idea for a new twist on cloudmining though.  If it is legitimate, it could do well.

Then how did you buy 1 TH/s mining power in the game? In your own pocket? Who offered you this game first?

I bought it with BTC not related to this project.  Nobody offered me the game.  I saw it, liked what I saw and made the decision to participate.  All the Nasty addresses are public.  There's no witch hunt here.
15520  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 6x Bitmain Antminer S4+ 3.5 BTC shipped on: September 13, 2015, 12:54:40 AM
You will ship to a US address..whats the diff?

I can guarantee the equipment will arrive safely and functional to any continental US address with free shipping.  What happens to it after that is of no concern to me and I will ship to any continental US address.
