uhmm noted...but it has 3.3 star rating in app store.

Electrum Mobile is not as intuitive as other mobile wallets and the desktop version. Check out Samourai Wallet. It has many advanced features which might be useful for you in the future. You can also import the seed from Samourai into Electrum on your desktop. Note that Samourai will force you to use a passphrase which acts as a 13th word of your recovery seed. Don't lose it.
1562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction stuck on: August 13, 2019, 09:04:09 PM
Fees are dynamic. They are constantly changing - thus, wallets will suggest different fees every time. His transactions above are an example of that, their fees are not the same.

I am aware of that. I am surprised that his wallet didn't suggest overpaying a little for these transactions; I am quite sure that other wallets would do so. Anyway, changing wallet to Electrum will prevent such a thing from happening in the future since it has RBF enabled by default now.

[...] but I have transactions after that which r confirmed... All transactions done from same wallet...don't know how can previous transactions be unconfirmed when recent transactions are confirmed

Are you sure that their transaction fee is the same as the fee of already confirmed transactions? That's not possible. Your wallet might have suggested you a wrong fee for these two transactions. Next time, set the transaction fee manually (you can use the website I linked earlier to see the recommended one) and consider upgrading to a wallet which gives you more control over your coins, for example, Electrum.
1564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction stuck on: August 13, 2019, 08:45:09 PM
any way to boost them ?

Did you send those transactions or are you the receiver? If you sent them then your wallet might allow you to increase the transaction fee using RBF. Some wallets don't support it, so you might not able to do it. If you are the receiver and want to spend the coins then as long as you see them in your wallet, you should be able to spend them with a higher fee then the recommended one so that all transactions get confirmed faster thanks to CPFP.
1565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction stuck on: August 13, 2019, 08:39:38 PM
Both transactions seem to be sent with a 2 sat/byte transaction fee; that's too litle. The current recomennded fee is 39 sat/byte so you will have to wait quite a long time. Can you see both transactions in your wallet?

2) Creating inbound channel even harder

It's not as difficult as you think. Some nodes automatically open a channel back if one opens a big enough channel to them. There are also services from which you cant rent the inbound capacity.

1) Its really complicated to use at the moment. Installation very hard, first fund then open channel, do the tx itself.

Mobile wallets are fairly easy to use, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. Eclair Mobile and BlueWallet (a custodial wallet) seem to be the best choices for now. The latter might be a bit more intuitive.

Revolut próbuje zachęcić swoich użytkowników do zapraszania znajomych.

I suppose retinal scan can be pretty secure. It is somewhat difficult for a person to get a copy of that.

Well, even a retina scanner can be easily fooled if you take a photo of a victim with a proper camera (infrared night vision setting needs to be turned on). That's how Samsung security can be bypassed.

1570  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: HELP!!Sent coin to electrum wallet receive address, never received. on: August 13, 2019, 11:36:01 AM
I sent btc from coinspot to my electrum wallet on 12/08 at 22:00 37DtvUxMmCnmMxZf4YrEZqHp9ABtxaqTCM and I still haven't received it yet.

There isn't any incoming unconfirmed transaction for the address you provided. It looks like CoinSpot still hasn't sent the withdrawal transaction. Contact them for further help. Once they send it, the transaction should get confirmed quickly.
1571  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: pre segwit source code on: August 13, 2019, 10:10:12 AM
In Bitcoin Core v0.13.1 SegWit softfork activation parameters were introduced and v0.13.0 included some preparations, so you should be fine with the v0.12.1. You can download the source code directly from the official GitHub page.
1572  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Biometric BTC wallet? on: August 13, 2019, 09:57:04 AM
Do you mean generating and backing up a wallet using, for example, a single fingerprint? There are no such wallets and they would be extremely insecure anyway. It would be fairly easy to force you to restore your wallet.

Imagine a wallet that will ask to scan your retina before broadcasting a transaction :-P

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S9 have a retina scanner. Blockstream Green Wallet supports such a way of unlocking a wallet.
1573  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 3.3.8 not connecting since days? on: August 13, 2019, 08:19:44 AM
Have you tried installing Electrum on a different device connected to your network? I doubt that it's your ISP's or router's fault but it's worth giving it a try. Do you use any antivirus software beside Windows Defender?
1574  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: BC Vault hardware wallet - is this a reasonable answer to a question? on: August 12, 2019, 11:34:39 AM
Personally, I don't understand why is trezor T so expensive 149 euros, while ledger nano s is only 50-60 USD

Convenience comes at a huge cost here. Trezor T has a big touchscreen which is certainly the most expensive part (and a microSD card slot which still doesn't have any use). Ledger is also a good choice if OP likes their security policy. It's worth pointing out that Trezor is vulnerable to seed extraction which is dangerous if one doesn't use a long passphrase.

1576  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: BC Vault hardware wallet - is this a reasonable answer to a question? on: August 12, 2019, 07:04:04 AM
The other thing I liked was that you can have multiple accounts (vaults?) on it to kinda segregate the wallets, allowing other people (in my case family members) to store their coins on it also.

You can do exactly the same on Trezor and Ledger. If you don't want your family members to see your coins then you can use a passphrase which acts as a 13th or 25th word of your seed. Each family member can use their own passphrase in order to have multiple accounts separated from others. Consider buying a Trezor T. It has a big screen and allows you to enter PIN, passphrase and recover the device without having to worry whether or not your computer is infected.
1577  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: BC Vault hardware wallet - is this a reasonable answer to a question? on: August 12, 2019, 06:21:50 AM
[...] but this backup and recovery option feels risky to me.

It is risky. Other hardware wallets allow you or even force you to back up the mnemonic phrase they generate which is supported by many software wallets. There is no guarantee that they will release that application. How are you supposed to enter a wallet and account password on that device? Doing it on a computer is completely unsafe.

After quite a bit of research BC Vault would be my preferred choice for several reasons (storage types, security, volume of crytocoin types it will hold, non-deterministic wallets, family members can use it also etc) [...]

Can you elaborate on that a little bit? We might be able to recommend you a different hardware wallet.

Sorry for interrupting your IOU discussion, but the Lightning Network criticism has just been taken to a whole new level. Even franky1 can't beat that.

Not sure if this is an attempt to steal my private info, I assume it is because he didnt post his advice in public and instead decided to PM me. Looking at his trust rating it seems that he is a scammer.

At the beginning, he mentioned a mistake made in this post. There is no need to convert your mnemonic phrase into a master private key. Don't save those words on your computer, don't input them on any website. It's true that right now you can't use a different wallet to recover your coins, but it's very unlikely that something will happen to Electrum. It's one of the most popular software wallets and you always will be able to export your private keys using old versions.
