Like it or not we now have a thief as one of the large stakeholders on the rich list.

He has no motivation to dump, anymore than any large stakeholder does. Who knows, he might even make donations to help his investment.

So, please stop with all this worrying. It doesnt help, does it? Or maybe that's the point?

OPAL dodged a bullet. Let us be thankful that there no rollback to deal with forever in the future and we can get back to improving things.

Yep, probabaly the hacker buying their own coins , to try n create a buy spree.. problem is.. traders know math.. this will go no where till their all dumped. ( or a LARGE majority)
that was me, I accidentally put in the wrong price

JLH lotto prizes 100,000 NXT, 50,000 NXT and 25000 NXT for three prizes. If tied, each prize is split between the winners

libertynow will be posting more info. NXT-PY3K-SDTG-PHTV-GLYDA is the only account that will be earning lotto tickets, so if you are wanting the JLH lotto tickets, make sure you are buying from the GLYDA acct

James

P.S. there is a small chance existing assetholders will veto this lotto, but I think it is quite unlikely

[dividend announcement]

This friday ~1400 GMT, OPALTKN dividend will be sent. There are 15 million total OPALTKN, and 10% will go to SuperNET assetholders and 10% to NXTventure holders and 5% into JLH. From the NXTventure dividend, InstantDEX holders will get around 4% as it owns about 40% of NXTventure.

For SuperNET assetholders, this is a bit over 1.7 OPALTKN per SuperNET.

It is a fun asset, which has value too. You can practice trading on the NXT Asset Exchange and with the wide distribution OPALTKN has, it could start trading actively. There is a revenue stream from the opal market attached to this. bassguitarman will post more details about this asset.

I am trying to get DB MGW ready so we can have another dividend this year in the form of mgwVPN. This would be 1:1 convertible into the actual VPNcoin and would be the first time such a dividend has been done for a real coin, at least on this scale. Not sure of the amount yet, but if there is good demand for the mgwVPN, I think we can go up to 10 VPN per SuperNET asset

We have just bounce from the last bottom price. if that gets retested and fails it means there isn't enough buying power at the crucial level. then we go down sub 500k and still be within the long downtred
actually we have been gradually climbing from the bottom set mid to late nov. I am looking at bitcoinwisdom 3 day charts
the long term average (blue line) is doing quite nicely, while short term price action could certainly drop it below 500K for a while, the downtrend that started in end of Sep looks like it is running out of power

If you look at the bottoms made in Oct, Nov and Dec, each one is higher than the last. Considering the bot keeps trying to push the price down (currently a zillion orders of 5 BTCD sells stuffing the orderbook) it is making good progress.

If the bot ever decides to flip to pushing the price up, with all the sellers that have sold last months, who is left to sell?

VPN deserves better then another copy and paste layout.
Got it from CLAM ?
Also colour scheme sucks, too much contrast.

More important, right now there is NO need for a new gui.
Plenty of bugs to fix and features to add.
There is a need for ANY wallet for mac and unix isnt there? This is not windows!

Generally speaking, anything is better than nothing. In order to integrate with SuperNET unix versions are needed

James
Sorry, you are right !
Thought it was a Windows ui.
It doesnt have the VPN features (yet), but this allows for creation of DB MGW, which in turn allows for trading on the NXT AE and also via InstantDEX, plus more and more possibilities as time goes on. Without detracting from the main VPN dev effort as all this is via new contributors from the SuperNET community

James
Hi,James, can you help me about the wallet.dat problem?my wallet was backed up at 2014.10.30,but now when I am trying to replace the wallet.dat with the backed up wallet.dat ,the balance shows zero,in fact ,there are some coins in this address.you can check it on the block explore.  VfKYeCrfDkam3Sdpey4K1zACZVGQf3egER
how can I deal with it? if you need the wallet.dat file,I will send it to you!
if you restored from backup, you need to have the blockchain catch up. if the coins are in the blockchain they are there. at worst you would need to download the blockchain from scratch
1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Teleport/Telepathy Privacy Tech--SuperNET Core Coin on: December 15, 2014, 10:31:56 AM
DB MGW is caught up but it is still in manual mode. If you have any pending tx, please post txid

I've been up for most of last 2.5 days so will need a bit of time to recharge. The good news is now I am setup to add telepod handling into the DB MGW, so this solves the telepod faucet issue. Additionally with BTCD being the reference currency in InstantDEX, there needs to be liquidity and autoconversion to all the other core currencies. And DB MGW is the place to put that.

Along the way, I abstracted the ability to generate multisig addresses and it might be possible to create multisig telepods, but that will be after the initial release. You can also now make a private supernet that is isolated from the main network. I had to do that so the production MGW servers can have same isolation they do now. Then it can be bridged to the main SuperNET using a special bridgenode and this will allow realtime MGW status, deposit address generate and even requesting deposit/withdraw to be processed.

I know everybody is impatient for everything to be done, but it is vital to have a solid foundation to build on and now the finish line for DB MGW is in sight, the next plank to be put in place are the MMatrix for InstantDEX, with some simple hardcoded tradebots. With this in place, the Teleport onramp/offramp will be able to be encapsulated into a GUI button so users wont have to deal with all the messy details.

You can follow the progress in realtime via slack, which is logged here http://104.236.15.119:8086/logs or my code repo at https://github.com/jl777  it is up to more than 40,000 lines of code that I have written this last 8 months along with another 100,000+ lines from other projects.

With the windows build actually building and almost initializing and the GUI taking shape, things are all coming together, but it will be a one new feature at a time sort of thing, instead of one day everything just works like magic. Oh, we also have a lively team really pounding on the API with both manual tests and automated tests, so this is quite a good progress as that is what is needed to find (and fix) all the bugs

Thank you for your patience. I know those who understand the software development process know what sort of timeframes are required for something of this scope. I am becoming somewhat of a bottleneck, but as soon as I complete the SuperNET core, then it will allow for massively parallel development to be deployed. Things are going pretty parallel even now, as you can see from:

Last weeks stats from Slack:

Your team sent a total of 37,977 messages last week (that's 14,840 more than the week before). Of those, 50% were in channels, 1% in groups and 48% in DMs. Your team also uploaded 131 files (that's 60 more than the week before).  If all your team's messages from last week were on sticky notes, together they would be 1.8 miles long (2.89 km). In total there are 269 people on your team (up 43 from last week).

so much innovation it is good that you have joined supernet i have been a follow of this coin for a long time soon it will go to the moon
let us not moontalk. Serious coins require serious effort. Now longer term, of course, the price will reflect the value, but all we can do is work on increasing the value. The price will do what it does

Hi, I am holding unity on bter and want get them out of the exchange. Is there a wallet available to store them off line?

NXT wallet

Thanks, send, as a test 0.2 unity from bter to NXT wallet and they arrived. Then tried a couple of hundred and they are stuck. In bter account I get the message; "waiting for balance". Didn't get an answer from them fou 8 hours. Any an idea what's wrong here?

What's wrong is you used bter

I have same problem(never used bter until supernet ico) ... tested 1 unity and it went through very fast, tried 10 and its stuck since yesterday.  All the asset dividends from supernet is also stuck...

It looks like it is more than just a few of us. Can anyone from the Supernet team reach out to them? I have opened a ticket but no response in 24 hours.
just empty hotwallet. send PM, heard back that they are refilling it

to spend bitcoin, you need to hash your privkey and it needs to match the pubkey, since the hashing functions generate high entropy outputs, the odds of the output being all 0 is 1^256th power and for bitcoin there is a second stage hashing, so it is even more remote. Not a formal proof, but good enough for me.

Basically when you do an SHA256, there will be a distribution of 1 bits and 0 bits, with 128 of each being the most common, but 127 and 129 are possible at about half the chance of the prior count. so the odds are vanishing small, that anybody can ever find a privkey that SHA256 to 0. Now bitcoin uses RIPEMD160, which is 2 stages of hashing, so not a 0 output from SHA256, but an output that in turn generates a 0 output.

tl:dr There isnt any greater risk of someone being able to spend the burnt coins than they being able to spend any address. In fact, due to the all zero nature the odds are much, much, much less chance to crack this address.

Looks like the right?

I was ready to burn coins, but I do not know about this.
Who know about this?
yes that is correct

76a914000000000000000000000000000000000000000088ac

The red numbers are the pubkey, the other bytes at the beginning and end are the standard bitcoin script opcodes
to spend funds in this address requires a pubkey of 0, which is illegal, so cant be spent

https://books.google.com.ec/books?id=s6ZDBQAAQBAJ&pg=PA168&lpg=PA168&dq=bitcoin+public+key+all+zeros&source=bl&ots=GESattSzo8&sig=HR-3y5KNQB2hy_wEUFzAqSBG9cs&hl=en&sa=X&ei=xdmLVPeLFcGryATYqoLYDQ&ved=0CG0Q6AEwCw

I found references that an all zero private key is not allowed and I am pretty sure that having a public key of all zero is like multiplying or dividing by zero and not valid. I will keep looking to get 100% confirmation
