1561  Economy / Economics / Re: Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: December 13, 2023, 01:47:23 PM
When there are conflicts or wars between nations, people like to take sides and stand in solidarity with either of the nation that they support. I've experienced people boycotting the products of countries that they don't support,  inasmuch as it's within ones right to choose how to spend their money, boycotting popular international brands because the founder is from a country that you don't support affects the workforce of a country that you support, because it's an international brand.

An example of this is when some south African natives, will riot and kill other Africans in their country for taking over their workforce, in retaliation hudloms, will destroy and bourn down some south African, business in Nigeria. And when this happens thousands of Nigerians, that work in this companies jobs gets affected.

So for me if CEOs or small business owners don't take sides in a war or conflict, then there's really no need to boycott or destroy their investments.
1562  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: December 13, 2023, 12:39:43 PM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.

The same luck applies to the rich and poor when it comes to gambling, it doesn't matter your financial status, the outcome will still be determined by luck. The only difference might be that the rich can afford to place more bets because they have the money, which can give them better chances of winnings. While the poor's chances of winning is limited by their small money to place bets, even if they wants to increase their chances of winnings, they wouldn't have the money to risk it. So with this analysis you'll see that the reason why the rich wins more than the poor in gambling is because they put more money in bets, therefore they have more probability to win.

Also remember that as the rich stakes more money in gambling that increases their chances of winning, they also have more loses if they don't win. Although I believe that the rich gamble for fun and not necessarily to increase their wealth. But the poor is the opposite, most gamble to make a living from it.
1563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Secure on holding my btc on electrum on: December 13, 2023, 11:33:45 AM
Is it good to store for a long term ?
It's all good so long as the device in which the wallet software is installed is secure, airgapped, and you have good seed phrase back up practices like avoiding copying and pasting the seed, avoiding cloud storage etc. You won't even see the need to buy a hardware wallet.

Although I don't use electrum wallet, but it comes highly recommended as one of the trusted wallets that has many features, and i haven't heard any negative remarks from it's users that I know. Considering the advice that you've given, I think that it'll be safe to hold your Bitcoin, on the long term in an electrum wallet.

Frankly I'm not very knowledgeable about the history of Israel and Palestine, regarding who the disputed regions originally belongs to, but from what I understand, the territory belonged to Israel, before they scartered or fled, and in there absence the palestians, then occupied the territory. My theory might be wrong, but that was how the story was told to me, I'd love to be corrected if my information is misleading. If my information is true, then the territory originally belongs to Israel, unless they willingly vacated the territory, but if they were forced to flee their land, upon return they have the right to fight to regain what is truly theirs. They'll reach an agreement with the settlers whether to move or live in harmony with them as settlers.

Linking Islam to terrorism is very wrong, because I don't think that the religion will teach it's faithfuls to go about murdering innocent people, I have Muslim friends and they're all responsible people who do not support terrorism.
1565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: P2P Dusting Attack And How Not to Become a Victim on: December 13, 2023, 09:05:16 AM
This attack is same as the address poisoning attack by Pmalek, I will advice you to go through that thread to have more insight in the topic.

This attack is not a thing to be concerned about just that immediately you notice it, the thing to do is move your funds to another wallet but this doesn’t have any harm yet. One of the things this does is something similar to clipboard malware where you got a slightly different address from the one you copy. So when you’re face with attacks like this do well to always check and check the receiving addresses so you don’t send the scammer funds

This thread is a very informative one for me, because I've not had this kind of experience of receiving tokens from an unknown source before, so I'll have to be vigilant now in case if I receive such scam tokens. So the best thing is to move your coins to another wallet, I think that will be the safest thing to do, thankfully the process of opening new wallets is quite easy. Lastly the verification of wallet addresses before sending coins is very important, even beyond being scammed by these fraudsters, without carefully checking to see if each letter or alphabet corresponds with what you're about to send can lead you to send coins into a wrong account. I've had an experience where I copied an address into my wallet, before sending it my mind compelled me to crosscheck first, and to my greatest surprise there was a slight difference, I didn't know how it happened, I only suspected malfunction of my phone, since then I always crosscheck before sending.
1566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best altcoin to look out for on: December 13, 2023, 07:39:53 AM
The year 2022 ce with a lot of instability in the entire crypto market with some altcoins such as Solana losing their value by almost 70%. Even the worth of BTC and ETH also dropped drastically living many people confused and lost huge funds to this market instability (Bear market as it is called).
As a new trader I would like to know from our experts, the altcoins with good potentials in this 2023.

This is almost one year after you started this thread, and we both know that the best cryptocurrency, by far still remains Bitcoin, and when you come down to altcoins division then it still remains Ethereum. Bitcoin, has been on a steady price pump for months now, in anticipation of the coming bull run, and I know that Ethereum, is is also warming up to maintain it's position as the best altcoins to be cashed in as we await the bull run. There are other promising top altcoins to select from ,BNB, Solana, and the rest, you'd have to do your own research and decide for yourself which one to put your hard earned money into. Although I'd be more careful if I'm to put money in new altcoins, because they're far more risky than the established altcoins, because you might put your money in a shitcoin.
1567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price before Christmas on: December 13, 2023, 06:52:56 AM
Hello,
If someone has made a loss in buying and selling Ethereum, what is your suggestion? Should he\she hold Ethereum?
Is it possible for the price to reach $2300 before Christmas?

Thanks.

Unless you have sold all of your Ethereum you are still in the game to recover your loss and make a profit. Keep on holding and if the market keeps on staying in the green zone you would make enough profit. It is not that easy to predict the price of any cryptocurrency as there is always the factor of uncertainty in the crypto universe which can stop Ethereum from reaching the price point you are seeking. But looking at the present situation where the price of Ethereum is already above $2200 it won't be hard for it to reach $2300 before the 25th of this month.

Top crypto coins are better to hold for the long term, despite how the market trends and their prices dip, they'll eventually find there way back to the to top and become more profitable again. So I'll also advise OP to continue holding his Ethereum, hopefully the price will reach and even surpass his expectations. Until we reach the peak of Bitcoin bull run, investors will continue to be focusing more on it, when in the peak investors will use their profits from Bitcoin, to buy altcoins, which will experience their bull run too. When altcoins, are in bull run, we'll be very certain that Ethereum, will take the lead in being profitable, so again if it's possible to hold your Ethereum, till bull run, then don't hesitate to do so.
1568  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Watin supposed be d punishment for fraudster? on: December 12, 2023, 11:25:30 PM
I no go lie you, that punishment na punishment wey even your enemy no suppose experience, how you go tell me say na human being naim sitdown make this kind of law, to take punish em fellow human beings, the truth of the matter na be say e too much, no be say I dey support evil or side yahoo boys oo, but humanly speaking e too much, even person wey kill most times judge no dey sentence am to live in prison talk less of person wey na fraud e do. If dem dey very serious with this financial crime punishment, I go like make dem still carry am come Nigeria so that e go reduce the corruption rate for Nigerian politics. so that  after person don rule for sit and them find am guilty of fraudulent activity, e go just go prison straight up and that one fit make others wise not to partake in such wicked activity. Anyway I no sure say na the normal punishment year to serve for prison be that, the punishment year depend on intensity of the crime, like this Sam Fried own na, dem say na $64 billion em exchange down.

Truly dis wicked monsters dem never near your side, dat na why you de reason say di sentence wey dem give di guy too much, for all i care make Im de di jail to reduce the population of fraudsters wey de outside. Yahoo Yahoo boys and adults no mean well for dem victims, people done get stroke, some don die because of this wicked people. In the twinkle of an eye, all the money wey you don save for dis life inside your bank account go just disappear, because one yahoo boy don get access to all your money comot enter im own custody.

Weda dat kind long sentencing law go work for naija, depends on the leadership, because if na corrupt government officials de leadership position, then how kettle go call pot black? E go be business as usual. But if people wey get clean record de for government, den dem go get di zeal to truly fight corruption and sentence criminals accordingly.
1569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 12, 2023, 10:37:02 PM
Most of us gamblers probaly have experience that, but it's a bad attitude mate, it's like we aren't good in accepting our losses and that we would involve other people with our disappointment in gambling. It normally happen when we aren't gambling for entertainment only and we do risk money more than our budget, I would not use "money you can affor to lose", as there are times you can afford to lose the money you are gambling but it's already out of your budge, so in the end, it will have a big effect on your emotion.

Loosing is not a good feeling, even if it's just a game, everybody would feel better when they win, winnings radiates a feeling of fulfilment, but when it's a lose then it'll be the total oposit, a feeling of being a looser. However that losing makes us feel, I think that it'll not be fair to take it out on others, because they didn't force you to gamble and lose your money. It's ok to feel sad after a lose, afterall we're humans and it's a part of our inborn characteristics to react when we don't win, but for the sake of our loved ones, there's need to apply wisdom and understand that it's just a game, tomorrow can be better. Self control is a very important ability to have, without it our lives will be full of regrets, because we can hurt our loved ones in the moment of unhappiness.
1570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Altcoins Investment Experience on: December 12, 2023, 09:30:04 PM

Moral: I think BTC and ETHEREUM is better option for investment, Can be trusted blindly, profitable for long. Low Ranked Altcoins, Memecoins and shitcoins are just headache and reason of huge losses in long time. But anyone can invest his money wherever they want.

Earlier the better for anyone who's into cryptocurrency business to have the knowledge that it pays better in the long run to invest funds in Bitcoin, and if there's need to diversify into other crypto coins, then the first choice should be none other than Ethereum. Like you've learned from experience that all that glitters is not gold, new altcoins, can come with sweet promises of giving you multiple ROI, but in the end some are scam projects, some wouldn't withstand the tide of volatility, while some actually leave up to expectations. The question now lies in being able to know the ones that'll be profitable and stand the test of time. By my estimation it'll come down to gambling to determine the one to put money into.

If I were to invest in new alcoins, I'll put an amount that I can afford to loose, so anyhow it turns out, it'd be like winning or losing in gambling, accept the outcome good or bad and move on. I can only put the money that I can afford to invest in Bitcoin, and a step further will be Ethereum.
1571  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The latest binance p2p scam and how to avoid them on: December 12, 2023, 08:12:57 PM
To be clear and avoid Binance P2P: Try to make transactions with only one person who opens the P2P service, don't move around. If it goes smoothly with A, then just try with A. It's even safer if you really know the person opening the p2p service personally, or know him in the community and have a good and responsible reputation. Always try to check the exchange rate in real time so you can differentiate between what is reasonable and what is not. And look at reviews of several transactions that have been made.

Binance P2P have trust score feedback and number of successful trade stats. I believe the best way to avoid scam is to just choose good reputation seller and also never deal outside the P2P info such as email and text message. Binance P2P is pretty straightforward since all the details is already shown without the need to open the chat box.

I very much agree with the summation of your comments, because the best way to avoid being scammed on the Binance, p2p is to apply the trust rating. It is much safer to crosscheck the trust score feedback to determine the number of successful trade stats, i believe that scammers can not compromise the system. If you find someone with a good stats rating on Binance p2p, then always do your p2p transactions with the trust rated fellow, to avoid falling into the hands of scammers.

Crypto transactions or not, I don't share my phone number, email or any personal information on social media, with unknown persons or groups. Anybody that I can not attest to their character on social media, is a potential scammer, it remains like that until the person or group ranks up in my personal trust rating analysis.
1572  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arizona GOP Candidate Says Migrants Given $5000 Gift Cards on: December 12, 2023, 07:08:08 PM
https://www.newsweek.com/migrants-given-5000-gift-cards-after-crossing-border-arizona-sheriff-1850583

If that's true then who needs bitcoin? Why risk your money when you are getting it for free? Just spend it and get more when you run out. Sounds like the american dream.

Federal agencies denied knowledge of such a scheme and Lamb offered no evidence to support his claim on X, formerly known as Twitter.

There's no connection between Bitcoin and giving rewards to migrants, the former is a valued digital asset, while the latter, if it's proven true that migrants where given $5000 gift cards, will be purely politically motivated. So what happens to those of us that have Bitcoin, and can not migrate to the US, and be eligible for this purpoted offer? Bitcoin is far more valuable than any short term reward, it can guarantee the holder a more profitable future.

For someone who's running for a highly placed office like the Senate, Mr. Lamb, should have had evidence before making allegations, I think that this is a minus for him. We need leaders that backs up their claims with facts, not acting on heresay.
1573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Staying away from scam. on: December 12, 2023, 06:01:56 PM
December, being the last month of the year that has Christmas and new year celebration is a month that many people get scammed, so it's a time to be very alert and vigilant concerning every financial enticements. Many scammers will want to accomplish the remaining of their new year resolutions, before another new year sets in. Therefore their desperation will increase, and it'll fall on ignorant victims to pay the high prices with their hard-earned money.

We should avoid opening sites from unknown sources, verify every Link that promises to reward you for what you did not apply for, avoid Ponzi schemes of any sort, avoid people that tells you to apply with money to be rewarded by an NGO, because who wants to help you will not tell you to pay money first before receiving help, avoid unknown persons who calls you for help, most are scammers.
1574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not all new Projects are bad, So take the Risk on: December 12, 2023, 05:01:25 PM

My experience tells me that everything involves around crypto project, Is about risk, except for the president of them all ( Bitcoin ), The vice ( Ethereum ) and the child ( Binance ). Investing in any of these 3 gives risk free system. As they say experience is the best teacher in

Your experience tells you the right thing, Bitcoin, at the very top, then Ethereum and BNB, they remain the crypto coins that you can invest in and relax knowing that your investment is safe. These three carries minimal risks compared to other crypto coins, because you're sure that no matter how the market trends, even when they experience bear run, that they'll still remain relevant in the market, and eventually bull run will come and investors will make good profits. Although in these top list BNB, seems to be a little questionable, due to the issues that Binance, it's parent company is facing now, their trust level might have somewhat reduced.

There's nothing wrong in investing in other altcoins, especially the new projects, they come with hype of giving their investors geometrical profits, and these promises comes with their baggage of high risks. Profits happen, but you don't know the ones that'll survive or become shitcoins. So far me investing in new alcoins, is like gambling, because in the process of wanting to increase profit, you might end up losing your investment. Whereas this can not be the case with established crypto coins, because when they experience price dip, it's only a matter of time and they'll become more profitable again.

1575  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela vs Guyana. A new problem in the oil market ? on: December 10, 2023, 10:56:53 AM
I am from Venezuela, relatively close to the territory in dispute, also.

This administration is pretty much very unlikely to seriously invade Guyana or try to claim territory by force, our army is corrupt and full of crooks. This is all about the things I already mentioned and maybe try to unify some of the islands of support for Maduro using nationalism as a glue.

I personally I can assure you there has been people forced to vote today, under the threat of behind fired out their public jobs.

If anyone here has a question, I will try to reply.

Thanks, I really appreciate your unbiased stance in this conflict between your country Venezuela and Guyana, you have really given us the information from the root cause of this conflict. It's very reassuring to hear from someone that the issue concerns to give accurate report and I'm happy that you have clarified that the stories of Venezuelans invasion into Guyana, is all political propaganda to get patriotic support of it's citizens for the coming presidential election in your country. I truly hope that it does not escalate beyond that. Because when wars happens defenseless citizens will pay the heavy price with lose of lives and properties, while the people who started it will be shielded or whisked to a safe place with their families and loots
1576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers should not believe in first game win trap on: December 10, 2023, 09:44:11 AM
Gamblers should not believe in first game win trap
Experts conducted research that 80% of basic gamblers are trapped in the main win, thus making them addicted and losing a lot of money in the gambling arena. The first winning trap trick has been used for centuries by online and offline casinos.

Human nature is generally greedy, curious and ambitious, where they first gamble and win, the desire to increase their balance for a second win is strong, not knowing that they have fallen into a trap and lost everything.

My advice is to gamble without prioritizing emotions and greed, consider all gambling activities carefully, the first win is the beginning of suffering, so gamble without greed.

A first time win can encourage a newbie in gambling to become comfortable and believe that winning is easy in gambling, and he can continue gambling until he'll probably lose all the wins and initial capital and then starts to chase loses with new capital. Although this is not a guarantee that the gambler will end up as an addict, he might decide along the way to gamble responsibly or quit, or he might choose to be greedy and continue to gamble heavily in order to recover loses. So in the end it's not really because of first win or lose that makes people to be gambling addicts, it's the decision and discipline of the gambler in the long run that determines whether he'll gamble responsibly or become an addict.

A simple definition to avoid addiction will be gamble for fun and use a budgeted capital for it, no matter how the game turns out, win or lose when the gambling budget is exhausted, then call it quit till the next budget.
1577  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What would you to like to see in a crypto investing bot? on: December 10, 2023, 08:43:45 AM
As crypto traders, we all know the struggle. Analyzing charts, monitoring news, and navigating volatile markets can leave most people feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Crypto trading bots have been extremely helpful in that regard, with the promise to automate the process and help us make informed decisions.
But let's be honest, most bots out there fall short. They lack the features we need to thrive in the ever changing crypto market. So, my question to you is what do you want to see in your dream bot?
Personally my biggest regret is the fact that bots are buying based on some data, and I can buy according to that data, if there is a both that can buy based on something that I can't replicate myself then I would consider that as good and understand that it would be my benefit, of course depending on the results, but I want a bot to be able to do something I can't do.

All the bots that we have right now, are software that does stuff that I can do too, but it does it 7/24 non-stop, that is literally all that it offers, be able to do it constantly non stop for things that I can do myself as well. I want it to be able to go beyond that, do something I can never do, have a higher grade of result that I would never be able to reach.

I don't think that it is possible for bot to be giving accurate information about trading, because no one or machine can accurately predict the future. If it were possible them everybody will be millionaires, because we'll be very sure will of what the outcome of trading will be and put all our money into it. In the end crypto trading will definitely shut down, including other forms of trading like forex.

So for me bot is to aid in trading, not to replace the human factor of analysing and predicting the outcome of trading. We can not expect more from bots, because trading depends on futuristic outcomes, so either humans or machines have to depend on analysing probabilities of data's available to be able to predict results, and this can not give accurate results.
1578  Other / Politics & Society / Re: News not true about Wars china tawain on: December 10, 2023, 07:41:54 AM
Right from my childhood I've been hearing about China, Taiwan conflict, so I'm believing that it'll continue to be that way until peace is achieved in that region. So I doubt that it'll ever degenerate to China, fully invading Taiwan, or a full blown war, because the two countries have been coexisting with each other in hostility as far as I can remember. Besides China, must have learned a very big lesson from the Russian, invasion of Ukraine, everybody thought that it'll be a walk in the park for Russia, but reverse is the case today, because Ukraine, has refused to back down. So China, must understand that they can not just walk into Taiwan, and invade them easily, because of Taiwan's strong ally which is the US.
1579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet of Satoshi vanishes from Apple and Google’s US app stores on: December 10, 2023, 06:35:11 AM
Wallet that can be used to keep satoshi (bitcoin). The smallest unit of bitcoin is also called satoshi. I do not see anything bad about the name so far you under more about bitcoin.
Not to derail the conversation, but the creators would have had it in mind that the name of this wallet will raise eyebrows and bring them some traffic through posts like this on forums and social media.
Wallet of sats will have conveyed the message with no ambiguity about what the origin of the wallet.

- Jay -

Wallet of Satoshi or wallet of Sats, these are just names, and I doubt that the vanishing of the wallet in discussion from the US, as OP said, has any thing to do with it's name. I'm sure that it'll have to do with some regulation dispute with the US. Developers can choose any name for their projects, even celebrity names, so far they don't get sued, some people will identify with their brands because of the name. I've been hearing of the exits of some crypto related services in the US, i saw a thread recently about Kucoin, leaving the US, these exits will not be favorable to crypto users in that country. I hope the government and crypto business finds a level playing grounds to avoid more exodus.
1580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coin memes don't have a project? Is it worth buying for the long term? on: December 10, 2023, 05:32:48 AM
the reason I bought meme coin was that I only took advantage of short-term profits. I think most people do the same thing. Apart from that, I feel that meme coin is not worth holding for a long period of time, because the risks are very large, especially in large amounts. However, there are some people who are holding some meme coins, and hope that the price will go higher. However, they only hold popular meme coins such as Doge, Shiba, and others.

Most meme are better to take advantage of in the short term, because you don't know the one that'll survive and reach long term. If you want to gamble your money for high profit, then meme is for you, you just might pick a good one that multiply your investment many times over, and if it does, it's better to cash out, because you don't know whether the more you wait, it'll become worthless. For long term investment and better assurance and peace of mind in crypto investment, I'll be very comfortable to rely on bitcoin, because it has proven to be very profitable if you hold for a long time, also any top altcoin, is good to put money into, because just like bitcoin, they're also reliable and profitable.
