1561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After HongKong, it is time for Taiwan on: April 28, 2023, 02:40:05 PM
They are mostly looking forward to entrepreneurs in crypto to come in and setup business there. It is less about regulations in my opinion, although both could be their aim. Q4/September is what we need to wait for here, till then fingers crossed as to what happens next. If they start doing this following HK, we can expect good price pump in the next few months and even more when it starts.

But another aspect to this is the government questioning of companies and all which often happens a few years after they get settled in. They are needed to keep their growth in check but lets hope that does not bring down the spirits.
1562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any advice for invest my first 600$ in altcoins? on: April 27, 2023, 03:50:31 PM
Don't say buy BTC cuz already have nice amount since 2010.
Seriously you dont need anything more than that if the amount is a significant one, like at least two digit number.

Compared to that 600$ is a meager amount but if you are willing to take the risk go with the established coins like ETH.

Dont go for the newly launched coins because they will be one shot wonder a few months and then by 2026 you will find them back in the dumps beyond the break even level for years to come untill they get abandoned.

You might think I am being a grumpy old member of this forum, but you are not the first newbie here who came for similar advice.
1563  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as wealth. on: April 27, 2023, 03:46:32 PM
When to buy and when to sell actually seems simple, but the fact is that for trading, especially for day traders, things like this are not as simple as they say because it returns to the initial focus, as I said, there needs to be further learning and understanding if you really want to do that.
I agree, in day trading things get even more difficult to manage and micro-manage. Daily swings are unpredictable and hence I prefer to play it safer with long term trading and advice the same to newbies who are willing to play it safe as well. I do admire those who day trade and make a living out of it, but its not my thing, honestly.

I am not sure how much luck can actually help here because this ends up being a gamble everyday when it comes to day trading or short term trading. Quick decisions and a fast internet - all the more anxiety inducing. I am not sure everyone can handle that pressure.
1564  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Banks really manipulates us? on: April 27, 2023, 03:38:51 PM
Well, well, well, looks like someone's been guzzling down conspiracy cocktails!
I feel there should be logic behind the same, a lot of things get started as hearsay and become full blown conspiracy theories while they are pretty simple in reality, but tough to explain to common folk. Unless you get a proof of something it is better to keep shut about it.

Quote
Fact is, these schemes? They're to help folks, not to craft shady economies or fatten the rich. Blame the abusers, not the scheme. And about spending, ever heard of "consumerism"? We're swimming in a sea of ads screaming buy, buy, buy! It's not so easy to just zip the wallet.
It only becomes an -ism if you are getting "consumed" by it. Focus on things you need and keep luxuries only the a minimum and that should reduce costs. It will not work for everyone and in every country, but it is worth exploring. Often one family member will try to do this while others dont and that becomes frustrating.

Quote
But hey, your cheap weed point? Spot on! Maybe some should splurge on a better, classier strain
Or better not do any of that to be able to think rationally and logically and "weed out" the conspiracy theories.
1565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What role have altcoinsplayed in the entire cryptocurrency industry on: April 26, 2023, 05:12:00 AM
Bitcoin, too, in its early days, had a hand in being associated with all sorts of shady dealings and fraud.
True, in the initial stages there were a lot of pump and dump and scams happening in the name of bitcoin.

Quote
Then, when regulation began to come into the industry, these associations were greatly reduced, but altcoins have intensified this effect over time.
Which regulations in this case?

Quote
The paradox is that cryptocurrencies imply anonymity and decentralization, but where this very anonymity and decentralization is present, that is where fraud happens, if we talk about altcoins. You need a very fine balance between anonymity and trust in cryptocurrencies, and you can't do that with altcoins.
Anonymity leads to scams if not regulated or verified. That is why it is both an advantage and a disadvantage. People cant trust crypto because of this and the number of scams that run with the help of that and the internet continue at a constant rate.

Not a major number of regulations have been done yet, it would be worth seeing some happen in future too.
1566  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Banks really manipulates us? on: April 26, 2023, 04:57:46 AM
Schemes are made to help people in the first place, its not their fault that some sub-economies come up from that scheme in order for some more people to profit like mortgage and associated housing market.

I dont understand why you are linking spending of money with banks - spending is your own choice, be it through a bank or through crypto. If you dont spend you dont get into the problem you speak of.

You can only get manipulated if you take the step, meaning the choice is yours to make. You could live on a simple TV or a simple car and avoid buying expensive clothes if you want to.

If you put your tinfoil hat on, and think in the terms that everything is this world is created to harm you, then obviously it seems that way. You need to stop taking that cheap weed mate.
1567  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is it necessary to mix Bitcoin that you bought from an exchange? on: April 26, 2023, 04:49:03 AM
In fact, there is not much point in mixing if you, as an end user, show your IP address or withdraw money from bitcoin or cryptocurrency sales to your card. When you go into a wallet or an exchange, you show your IP address, and it's stored on the network. So you need to think about working with cryptocurrencies, not mixing.
I think the paranoia is more than the real problem. Signing up on an exchange and sending in money there you are getting logged, you might try to avoid these by using TOR, using mixers and using more than one internet connection, whatever you will not be able to completely stay off the grid.

And I ask, what is the point if you are not dealing with something illegal? If your country forbids use of crypto just collect it through signature campaigns, dont buy it or sell and keep it in store for a hopeful future. Unless you are doing money laundering and criminal activity you dont need so many methods to keep clean.

What we rather need is a more lenient government stance to crypto, and for that we have to make people aware and allow them to use crypto more. I have this gut feeling that the use of mixers only leads to governments being skeptical about how common people are using crypto for.
1568  Economy / Economics / Re: Living ones life on assumption and promises on: April 25, 2023, 02:16:47 PM
Obviously there is a big difference between the salary from a job and the profits from gambling,
what you say is true the profit from gambling results is clearly unreliable,
believe in gambling then someone will get stuck in other problems.
Gambling and salary dont really go hand in hand. Gamblers end up spending their salary on games and land up broke. Grin

What the OP said though, you have to live like a monk and consolidate your earnings before you dream of more. Be realistic and be pragmatic about money, there is no place for trust here.

I would say that going for risky investments at the minimum would cause less problems that arise out of the same. But then we are humans after all.
1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What role have altcoinsplayed in the entire cryptocurrency industry on: April 25, 2023, 01:50:49 PM
It's no secret that most frauds happen with cryptocurrencies, new scams appear every day, investors constantly lose their money, wallet hacks, rug pulls and phishing attacks take place. All this negatively affects the reputation of altcoins themselves and the industry as a whole.
This is true to the core, no wonder the name of bitcoin and crypto is tarnished because of the number of scams that altcoins have pulled off and the common people would not separate the two. There are also these HYIP/MLM which have been scamming people for years and no law enforcement to dig them out. That gives a bad name to crypto related investments.

Quote
Altcoins are mainly used as a means to enrich a narrow circle of people, and everyone else just loses money on these coins.
Mostly the pump and dump whales who are bagholders and manipulate the coin prices in order for their own game. The devs and advisors usually have their share once the lock-in periods end and after that it is a wild west.
1570  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lets Brain storm on how to limit losses... on: April 25, 2023, 01:39:59 PM
I was on a vacation trip with friends, I was clearly distracted by the engagements of our vacation and should not have even tried to engage in any trading activity. I went ahead, my analysis of everything was wrong and I ended up blowing the account and the little I had managed to gather there. I made the mistake of trading at a wrong time, I made trading decisions while distracted and It was something I regretted.
I hope you learnt some lesson from that. However I would mention here that most big names in crypto are never really at home, but traveling the world while tracking their assets and investments, they are that rich. So they know how to manage the money while having fun at the same time. Hope you can develop that capability in future too when you become a crypto millionaire.

Greed is always there the important thing is to keep your cool and not make drastic orders that lead to losses, but calculated ones.
1571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About football betting on: April 24, 2023, 04:32:19 PM
I am not a football fan and any form of prediction is still a gamble to me, but I have gamble on few different online casinos and I believe that gamblers on casinos gambles with the casino games, meaning it's between the gambler and the casino, but with football it is different, your bet is on the performance of a soccer team and the gambling platform will only win your money if your football team loses, right?
You bet on many things it can be how many goals a team makes, which team wins and who is the man of the match and so on, based on the type of game being bet on. But it is still betting since you are putting your money in for a game of chance. So it is not just when your team loses, you could be betting on some other "situation"

Quote
This makes it more cleaner to me, there will be no tampering of the system or fine tunning their games to make gamblers loses more than they win.
What the hell does that mean? No casino that is reputed here has been cheating its members or attempting to rig the system. Would like to know what made you think that way. It is a assumption that many losing gamblers make to reduce their guilt associated with losing money. Roll Eyes
1572  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical indicators vs the News on: April 24, 2023, 04:26:06 PM
Analysing the trend of the crypto market can be very complicated, base on the fact that their are two major deciding factor in price analysis when trading, which are the technical indicators an news about a project.
I have not been in the crypto space for not too long but I have come to the conclusion that the news is more influential in the trend of the market than the technical indicators, guys what do you think?
News leads to movement in the market that changes the technical indicators. You can grossly say that news is the cause and the market movement is the effect which can be quantified by the technical indicators. But to be honest, you cant always rely on technical to start a trade, if you see a bullish trend setting in buy and hold before the indicators show the same, this comes from practice.

But there will be news that might never move the market, usually it is the case with the positive news while negative news grossly bring down the market.
1573  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Being drunk while trading what was your experience on: April 24, 2023, 04:20:31 PM
I know it's crazy but I think there are really traders who can perform well while they are drunk. Have you seen the movie drunken master? The main character becomes really good at karate by the time he drank a lot of beer and get drunk. The same thing I was talking about there. I heard there's also writers who becomes very creative when they take drugs.
Mate, you serious? Its a movie and a work of fiction, dont start getting ideas from them to use in real life where real money in involved. Roll Eyes

Taking drugs and alcohol makes you less attentive, drowsy and hampers your decision making, leading to wrong orders or accidental clicking that can be fatal for your money. If you are serious about that you would not do that in real.

The whole "beat up the bad boys" stunt might work like bar fights are getting drunk but when it comes to things that need your concentration, alcohol is a bad choice.
1574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which of your friends and relatives deals with bitcoin? on: April 24, 2023, 04:16:15 PM
I also finally managed to see my cousin yesterday, now I have to work a lot in the evening and at night, so I am almost constantly busy, and it’s very tight with free time, but yesterday we saw each other and I shared with him that I was buying bitcoin. He said that he had already heard about bitcoin more than once before, but did not attach any importance to it, however, like I once did. It seems that he was interested, I promised to help him if he wants to buy.
How do you wish to help?

You could be living in a country which does not allow easy transactions to happen in which case you are in a tough spot. If your family member does not show interest from their side your efforts will be least effective in helping them. If they see the importance of bitcoin and then they start approaching trusted people about how to use it how to buy it, then it will help.

I would personally keep bitcoin away from the matters at home unless they show interest themselves. One family member losing money means everyone will be blamed for it and then the situation will turn sour.
1575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Inactive BTC whale transfers $8M worth Bitcoin After 10 years Inactivity on: April 23, 2023, 11:06:46 AM
The funny thing is that most of these users are not even active on the spaces like Reddit or Bitcointalk, they dont even care what we speculate here but minding their own business with their coins. Grin

I know these type of topics end up inducing some fear and bearish emotions among newbies so anybody reading this keep in mind that people have their own liberty to whatever they want with their coins and that may or may not affect the market in what way we think.

As an older member of this forum it is my duty to inform newbies that what you see happening on social media or forums does not necessarily explain the bearish/bullish trend, rather it is a cumulative effect or many things that are beyond our control of coins being sent here and there. So control your emotions and treat them as just numbers not as panic pills.
1576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What role have altcoinsplayed in the entire cryptocurrency industry on: April 23, 2023, 10:26:57 AM
Apart from making a fool of the investors who think that making money is easy that the next bitcoin is some shitcoin, the altcoins have show how gullible people are and how easily they go into easy talk from a bunch of scammers posing as developers of a coin.

They may be helpful as an "alternative" to bitcoin when bitcoin fees become too much to bear but their sole purpose is not that straightforward. If they were going to strike somewhere what bitcoin has not done yet then only they would be different and a develop a separate userbase.

Most of them ending up as scams and bankrupt coins shows that there are things to work on but possibly bitcoin will not be toppled over by another.
1577  Economy / Economics / Re: Look for what to invest, not what to eat on: April 21, 2023, 05:36:06 PM
I believe those who are trying to sell their account are attempting to get some big bulk of money for some specific reasons but this is not universal. Here because of the craze of bitcointalk accounts his make as such an attempt but you should ignore the same. We are here to grow and make a virtual name for ourselves not attempt to make quick cash and move on, you never know such users might have more than one account and selling one does not make a difference to them.

But then again hunger pangs are very painful thing to experience and they should take the help of their local authorities for that, some governments can support their poor, most can though.

Besides a person who can post on their forum has access to internet on a smart device. They are not poor but only showing off.
1578  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where can I invest 4k bitcoin on: April 21, 2023, 05:22:04 PM
Where can I invest 4k bitcoin
To make profit daily 100$

Any suggestions inside crypto or any other field
If you have 4k bitcoin you are already rich considering the price you would have bought at, just sell at the next all time high and then buy some resorts and enjoy your retirement. If you have 4k USD and want to start buying crypto then go with bitcoin first, at the low price and then re-cycle it between the bull and bear cycles so that you can multiply the total capital. This is easier with bitcoin and its long term swings but difficult with altcoins and their slow cycles.

Thats all I can say for crypto, as for other fields, yes you should buy real estate, gold and commodities, they are a good source to rely on when the bitcoin price drops and keep you mentally sane.
1579  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down. on: April 21, 2023, 05:13:35 PM
The rise and fall of bitcoin prices is a natural thing. In fact, no one can accurately predict the rise and fall of bitcoin prices. Therefore, if you are sure of investing in Bitcoin, then buy immediately. If you think the current price is low, don't wait for the price to drop further because we don't know how far the price movement of Bitcoin will go in the future.
You can buy now or wait, there is not problem in the latter. Dividing the available cash at hand to buy at different low levels is a strategic option  that you can exploit when you sell at different highs. I would rather suggest to buy at the lowest lows the prices reaches, of course it is not possible to always predict and execute the trade by them. These can only be guessed by some accuracy by trading charts and their analyses but ultimately it is our own money so do your own research before investing.

Like I said, let is go down, it only confirms that we will get highly discounted prices to buy at.
1580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it advisable to invest on Solana? on: April 20, 2023, 06:53:37 AM
Tough to say whether it is a good investment or not. There are users here are supporting the project and they have their own views on its future. While Bitcoin maximalists have their own narrow but safe view.

It would not hurt to pick up a stash of Solana for future if you have cash at hand to spare following regular buy low rules. Nobody believed etherum when it first came up but look at its price now. Since Solana has been here for long, you should give it a try but only after you have enough BTC at hand.
