Who's the genius that made that site? LOL

Personally I just simply got used to these dips/crashes that I pretty much don't care anymore. Though I'd definitely much prefer bitcoin to go higher as I was already planning on buying myself a new laptop. I definitely wouldn't want to purchase at prices this low. Looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer.

15724  Other / Meta / Re: Its Harder now on: February 04, 2018, 10:56:56 AM
I am afraid that some of the higher ranks would not even give up their merits at all.
I'm really looking in to giving more merits towards lower ranks (Newbie-Jr members), but the thing is, I really don't see good posts from people on those ranks. I'm pretty sure other users are thinking the same too.

Most of the people aren't sending the merit any one. If merit will be sent your account merit will be go down.
That's not how it works. Merits and sMerits are two different things.
Quote
You have Merits, those you cannot send.
You also have sMerits, those you can only send, they have no other purpose.

If no one is giving you merits, then it's simply because your posts aren't good enough. I actually thought earning merits would also be hard too. But it was far easier than I thought it would be. Simply studying and improving your posts will fix your problem. The new merit system is a GREAT update in my opinion. Far less account farmers now.
May be u are right but i tried my best to creat good posts but still i did not recive single merit from someone.

Take a look at your latest posts. I personally couldn't see a single "good post"; most of them are very bland one liners. Not even close to being called "good".

This is great news for bitcoin. Hopefully such positive news will have great impact on bitcoin and its price.
Thanks congrats for successful bounty.

I  only posted this thread to get different kind of opinions from people. I shared my opinion in post.  Post length can not determine the quality of post if there is nothing in it.
But at the same time, you were sort of like complaining as you weren't getting any merits.

Sure, post length can not determine the quality of the post. Very true. But your posts are both short and shit; to be completely honest.

He is clearly a moron.  No merit at all.

What we need around here is a 'demerit' system.  When someone posts a dumbass comment, we can hit it with some unlove and cost the guy a bit of his points.  If his points go too low, his IP is permanently banned forever.  This forum is crawling with too many stupid people.

Why don't we get a demerit system?

I definitely dig the idea of having de-merits. Though it looks like 20+ de-merits wouldn't be enough for all the bad posts we see here. Though IP bans are overkill in my opinion  Cheesy, and I definitely can see how de-merits can be abused by some people.

15728  Economy / Digital goods / Re: The strangest service sold in exchange for Bitcoin on: February 04, 2018, 09:51:43 AM
I'd personally sent them $10 worth of BTC if only I was wealthy enough just because of sheer curiosity. LOL

Wonder how high is the caliber of their memes are though, hopefully not just a meme made on memegenerator.
15729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin lose its value if everyone's using it? on: February 04, 2018, 06:29:32 AM
Why would it lose it's value? If everyone is using bitcoin then it means that everyone had to buy bitcoin one way or another to be able to use it, right?

supply = low(Max Supply: 21,000,000)
demand = high

hence, price will increase.
15730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was bought some bitcoin by sell my land on: February 03, 2018, 06:03:33 PM
It's simply either:
  • You sell, if you think the price will not go back up and if you need the money immediately
  • Yo hold, if you think the price will go back up in the future(no matter how long), and if you're patient enough to wait

..and when you said "land" I really hope you mean an empty lot that you own, and not your actual house.
15731  Other / Off-topic / Re: The evergreen question, Will Bitcoin survives in future? on: February 03, 2018, 05:34:03 PM
I'm currently VERY bullish on bitcoin, and I highly believe it has a good future. But will it indeed survive? Honestly, no one really knows. Bitcoin may be the "crypto king" today, but that MIGHT change in the future(though I'm not saying it will); and the new top1 coin in the future might not be in the top100 today.
15732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Only 21.000.000 Bitcoins in existance on: February 03, 2018, 01:42:07 PM
1 small country can buy all the bitcoins. The media has to fud to bring the prices down.
We can even make our own prices if all miners agreed to sell 10k only price will be 10k. 100k only 100k.  Wink

🤦

Your logic is heavily heavily flawed. Looks like you don't have the slightest idea on how the market works. Theoretically, one small country can buy all the bitcoin; just as one single person can buy all the bitcoin IF he/she has enough money. But the question is do they have enough money to clean out all the sellers? Definitely not, not even close. Not to mention that not everyone are willing to sell.

Also, sure. Miners can sell bitcoin at a fixed price. The question is that are people going to be willing to buy at higher prices? Of course not! That's what exchanges are for: so we can set our own prices.

If bitcointalk had a de-merit feature, I'd definitely give you a lot. For sure.
15733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: know any decent trading bots? on: February 03, 2018, 10:55:38 AM
I've heard good things about Gekko[1] though people are saying that it isn't easy to use, as it's an open source trading bot that you need to program yourself. I could definitely see people without much knowledge losing money with this especially with novices. Proceed with caution.

15734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Another Coin Take the Crown? on: February 03, 2018, 08:48:16 AM
Will another coin beat bitcoin in terms of total market cap? Maybe, maybe not. Is it possible? Very possible. Though Ethereum is slowly but surely closing up on market cap(currently a 57.3 billion difference[1]), it still has a far far way to go; and I honestly don't see bitcoin being replaced soon. Probably in the future, but who knows? Too early to tell. And it might not even be ETH.

15735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unused bitcoins should go back to community. Let's put community tax on hoarders on: February 03, 2018, 08:27:02 AM
Isn't one of the beauties of bitcoin is to have financial freedom? Your suggestion contradicts it. So what if some people have big amounts? Good for them for buying at cheaper prices and good for them for being able to afford huge amounts. Also, your suggestion isn't even good as people can move a small amount of bitcoin to another wallet with the same ownership to prevent this "tax" that you're suggesting.

People should be free on what they want to do with their bitcoin.

And one more thing: take note that bitcoin now isn't only for transacting, but also as a store of value.
15736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how are you increasing your BTC portfolio? on: February 03, 2018, 06:14:55 AM
Personally I just slowly purchased low amounts of BTC as it's price wen't down to around $14k-ish; and also at the current crash from $14k down to mid $8k. Though unfortunately I bought a significant amount at $12k so I currently can't purchase more. It's always important to not go all in on one trade on your purchases. Though I also used to trade, but not currently. I'm bad at timing markets at crashes with this magnitude.
15737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Delisted token I can't withdraw help me on: February 03, 2018, 04:23:30 AM
Unfortunately I really don't think there's anything you can do as they have said themselves that they can't do anything about it. Also I don't suggest reporting it to any organization as it would most probably cost you a lot more than $20-$30 to sue the exchange or something along those lines.

Also, make it a habit of not leaving tokens/coins on exchanges.
15738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the best Bitcoin faucets in 2018? on: February 03, 2018, 02:58:37 AM
The only decent faucet I know right now is feebitco.in; though I really really don't suggest using faucets as they give little to no value. It could take weeks and weeks of collecting faucets just to cover the transaction fee itself. If you want to learn how to transact with bitcoin, I suggest buying a small amount like $2 or so. If you're looking at using faucets for monetary reasons, then I suggest that you work at a fast food chain instead; sure, the pay is bad, but not as bad as faucets.
15739  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LOST BITCOIN on: February 03, 2018, 02:31:51 AM
What's the tracing going to achieve? In the end you're just going to know what wallet address your bitcoin ends up, but not necessarily who the owner of the wallet is. And I really don't think knowing where your bitcoin ended up can help you get them back.
15740  Other / Meta / Re: Don't you think that merit system is like avoiding new comer in Bitcointalk? on: February 02, 2018, 12:46:51 PM
How is the merit system for avoiding new comers? More like for avoiding spammers, shitposters, and account farmers. People used to rank up really quickly even with little to no knowledge. Now you actually have to post useful and good stuff to be awarded with merits; and I really don't see the problem with that. To be honest earning merits isn't even as hard as I thought it would be. You'd only need to be worried if none of your replies are given merits by people(because obviously, your posts might not be good). It's only survival of the fittest. If you have this problem, STUDY.

Also, you don't need to have merits for Jr member. You only need merits to get Member and above.
