I think this thread deserves a bump since it's my favorite thread on Bitcointalk now a days. I keep checking if it's bumped on the first page of the mining section and get upset to see it pushed back. Surprised that the last reply was at the beginning of the month and we are almost at Halloween.
What is everybodies take on the XMR move to a new algo which is more CPU friendly. Are you going to have rigs ready when the launch happens? Anyone think it will actually be profitable? RandomX is the algo and anyone know if it's GPU mineable or CPU only?
I have 2 amd ryzen 9 3900x rigs I have no idea if they will turn profit. but I do have 2 of them. I point them to nicehash and mine cryptonightR + x16R https://www.nicehash.com/my/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3/statsI have 4 rigs mining above 2 ryzen 9 3900c these have 3 btx 1660 1 threadripper 1920 this has 4 vega 56 1 ryzen 7 2700x thus has a gtx 1660 and a gtx 1080 ti they are using about 2000 watts and they are losing money. but I am getting heat from them so they are very close to break even

nice! congrats to whoever it was!
and whoever it was, they are 11.9 PH so nice!
No, that was the one rental. You see the stats I posted showed the hashrate of the block-winning user. Not bad 12.477 to his wallet he deserves it. Plus coins drifted up to 8200 so about 100,000 usd!

i got 3 3900x rigs and 1 3700x
i got some of the noctua coolers the huge sink dual fans at 1.3v or higer they cannot handle the heat to get above 13000h/s so i think you are right u need water cooling. anyone know of a good water cooler for my next build?
Evga two fan. 120mm 65c Corsair two fan 140mm 58c Look for sales . The Corsair is impressive. I use ram clocked to 2666 it does 3000 stock Both builds use 32gb ram.

S9 fans vary but 3 amp is pretty much one of the biggest so 3+3= 6 x 12 or 72 watts.
Op should give up on over clock he should try braiins software go for 10th at 825 watts.
Been there done that. Fans run at half speed and no oil over clock ⏰ needed at all.
If he does this he gets more watts per th. Oh he will need one or two more s9s which is perfectly fine since they are very cheap.

Bumpity Bump Bump.
Little late to the wagon train but this tool is awesome. Took some edumacations to figure it out but after perusing the thread all the answers are there. Big fan of yours! Keep on rocking. Still pretty young in the game, but if my Doge goes to the moon, I'll convert it to LTC and throw you a bone lol.
Bump this up still running. L3+ gear thank you

Bumping this since it's been a few weeks.
I did some testing and dropping the speed a bit and running it on only 2 has boards will get you a just about 400w dead silent space heater doing about 225 MH/s
Since winter is coming here it might be an idea.
Make me an offer, I will pass it on to the owner of the rig.
-Dave
There is a ssh software mod that allows power reduction with no fees. Jstefanop member here has a thread 🧵 on it. Full speed uses about 100 watts less. I am on a shit iPad or I would find link quickly. Give me a few minutes. edit link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3546316.0 this saves power big-time!

I clicked >log towards the bottom of the overview screen and it goes to a box with information. Nothing stood out but I wasn't sure what all I was looking at either. Is there something I should look for in this information? Retrying different pool information and waiting at least 30 minutes has not been yielding success.
show the log here I will post log on my dead 1041 {'STATUS':[{'STATUS':'S','When':0,'Code':11,'Msg':'Summary','Description':'cgminer 4.11.1'}],'SUMMARY':[{'Elapsed':179,'MHS av':0.00,} {'MHS 30s':0.00,'MHS 1m':0.00,'MHS 5m':0.00,'MHS 15m':0.00,'Found Blocks':0,'Getworks':5,'Accepted':0,'Rejected':0,'Hardware Errors':0,'Utility':0.00,'Discarded':0,'Stale':0,'Get Failures':0,'Local Work':1,} {'Remote Failures':0,'Network Blocks':1,'Total MH':0.0000,'Work Utility':0.00,'Difficulty Accepted':0.00000000,'Difficulty Rejected':0.00000000,'Difficulty Stale':0.00000000,'Best Share':0,'Device Hardware%':0.0000,'Device Rejected%':0.0000,'Pool Rejected%':0.0000,'Pool Stale%':0.0000,'Last getwork':0}

I know those 0's are wrong and the psu puts out 0 volts I not sure what is wrong as my connections look good. Dead as a door nail for the moment. Not sure what to reset or clear to get psu to turn on.

The psu is shorted out. And so are the two hash boards. I have 3 a1041's 2 good 1 bad the log above is bad unit.

I can go and try different settings, allowing more time between changes. Is there an example that should/is best to use? Yes, I am using my own address and not the one posted for example. I reboot after every change via the >system >>reboot option as described in the post for this miner.
Do you know how to check the log?

Just got my order two days ago
An m20? if so how does it run? at 45th does it use low watts? the m20s does 68th the m20 should do 45th. @fccs panglonminers have been very slow with whatsminer gear. and innosilicon have been slow with their gear.

Using pool.ckpool.org:3333 in the pool field did not work either. I also tried adding .a1041f ( from your picture) to the end of my address in the worker field but there was no change with that either. The worker field in the picture does not look long enough to be an address. Could that be my problem?
Okay let’s try again. Line one is pool Show me what you put in line one Line two is your worker btc address and nothing else show me what you put. Line three is password Use an x or use 123 Please show me what you did. I used the photo to be sure you enter on that page. Not to use anything you see in the photo

I ended up ordering three units.
One t17. 40th for dec One s17. 53th for oct One s17 pro 50th for oct
Six months to pay zero interest. About 5800 .
This is a no brainer if you are investing in btc.
103 th earns 103 x 0.0000182 btc a day.
Then in 2 months you bump to 143 th.
If you chose you can pay about 100 a month for five months then pay 5300 in month six.
If you want a hedge this is it. If the gear breaks from now to six months from now you can fight with PayPal for refunds. If btc moves up in price this is a solid move it is possible you are paid off very quickly.

I am hoping someone who has experience with Avalon miners can help me out. I have a 1047 that I cannot get to hash. Here are some of the things I have tried in the pool field.
cgminer -o stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333
I have tried different addresses, I have tried the other port (443) and I have tried the solo pool.
The worker field is my address and the password field is x.
I save and reboot after every change but the hash line never moves from the zero line. I do not not what I am doing wrong or missing.
Also, I did not see a way to setup a backup pool. Is that not an option with this miner?
try this Pool pool.ckpool.org:3333 Worker. 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ Password. x

Just upgraded a Ryzen 7 1700 to a Ryzen 9 3900X.
What a beast. Cryptonight R went from 480-490 H/s to 1500 H/s.
Yeah my 2 ryzen 9 3900x do 1398 and 1475 on cryptonight These pc's will run a pair of evga's 1660 each and while they are not making a fortune I have yet to use my heat this fall. So they are pretty good as space heating units.

Yeah: sometimes a sony will work sometimes it won't sometimes a samsung will work sometimes it won't I have a dell laptop it does great imaging I do almost all my usb and sd cards with it. Win10 is what I use. I have multiple pc's and for some reason this laptop is great to burn cards and sticks. I was looking to burn a usb stick for a mobo bios I could not get any stick to work fired up the laptop stick works fine when burned on the laptop. I have work with computers since 1974. Back then we used 3600 foot reels of tape ½ inch wide. Sometimes a tape could not be read we would move it from reel to reel to reel and 1 machine would read it. Gear has been like this for year. BAF tapes were good on almost every reel to rell we had. It all changes yet stays the same.

Well does not matter how many blocks they hit since they don't pay as well as viabtc so if you want a pps+ viabtc is better. If you don't mind variance then pools like ckpool or kano better in theory since they have no fee or very low fee. Unfortunately the 1.02 ph I have is a 4 way spilt so I have to point to viabtc. As I have done for the last ten months.
I would rate viabtc first then this second for pps+ pools
As for pplns pools I don't rate them since I don't mine on them much.
