1581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japanese researchers break 41 out of 64 steps of SHA256 with preimage attack. on: December 17, 2013, 02:32:39 AM
I can use Vanity Gen to match 8 out of 32 letters in under 12 hours. 9 letters takes 2 days.  10 letters takes 4 months. 11 letters takes 2 years. 12 letters takes 10 years. 13 letters takes.....
Steps 1-41 is not 2/3rds.  Steps 1-41 are the easiest. They can't get past 42. And 43 will be doubly difficult as 42 was.   Step 42-64 take orders of magnitude longer to crack than 1-41 did.  They got the first 10 years worth done. Now the nheed to get the next 2 billion worth done, in steps 42-64.

The exponential function is a bitch,misn't it?  Grin
exactly why its there.
1582  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CampBX on: December 16, 2013, 07:40:47 PM
At what point is this a scam?

Waiting on a withdrawal for 1 month now.  Submitted tickets and was told there was a 2 week delay.  2, 3, now 4 weeks have gone by and they recently said they'd handle it but I still have the funds in my account with the "pending" withdrawal.

i haven't had any problems with them yet. I don't move very large amounts though and i'm a US citizen. perhaps you have been flagged for some illegal activity or using multiple bank accounts.

I am a US citizen, live in the US, and it's less than $500 at stake.  And nothing funny happened.  No, they just replied with some BS about logistical issues, they haven't accused me of doing anything funny (which I haven't and there are barely any transactions on my acct anyway).

No problems, but have you tried withdrawing?  that is the problem lately, they won't let ppl get money!
i withdrew on the 13th, and it was in the bank this morning when i checked.

1584  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fudda'd by muddafudda on: December 16, 2013, 07:21:31 PM
As the pm stated I have started necessary steps in pursuing the matter. I have also been advised not to respond other than stating the intentions that I plan to pursue this.

Regards

Defamation? It ain't defamation when its true. You will lose your case anyway because:

a) You do not have a legal business

b) You don't pay taxes on what you earn here

c) Hippie Tech's criticism is warranted and fair. You refused to refund him for a service you didn't deliver upon, and he followed forum protocol by opening an accusation against you.

d) You have no terms of service.

e) Neither of you signed a contract.

f) You delivered a non working executable.

g) You attempted to extort him into letting you premine his coin.

1585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OpenEx: Fee shares-[closed] on: December 16, 2013, 06:14:06 PM
Update please.

server 1 has arrived.

http://dev2.openex.pw

justin is tweaking our api and rpc on here.

pen testing is still ongoing on the old server, with the feeling we would merge both branches eventually.

http://dev.openex.pw

CPU's for our main webserver is supposed to arrive this week, and setup is supposed to take no more than 72 hours when they arrive. on the 13th, i got a letter from the company saying it would be no more than 10 days.

other than that there aren't really any updates of note, unless you want to hear about my personal life(i had the flu last week so i've been in the bed for the most part.) we're due for some good news. One glaring problem is the fact that we don't use ajax to update the trade page, which could be annoying for traders. we should probably make it use ajax or something, trying to investigate a solution that would be efficient but not wasteful. we only need it to refresh when there are new orders, which is probably a bit beyond our expertise but i'm sure we will figure something out. we have a week! :-) if all goes as planned, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to expect launch by early next week.

the development thread is here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=320975.60
1586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Richlist - LTC on: December 16, 2013, 08:24:57 AM
Why would you invest $10000 into a coin that no one even trades anymore?
Obvious attempt to promote a shitcoin. btw, you have the same exact profile pic as alex mercad.
1587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Cryptsy now trading Orbitcoin, despite the Huge premine. on: December 16, 2013, 07:30:33 AM
what a fucking joke this site has become. I can forgive the technical problems, but listing Orbitcoin is inexcusable.
1588  Other / Archival / Re: deleted by request on: December 16, 2013, 04:18:32 AM
This thread is funny.  If you suspected Fraud from this company, your first step would be to file a criminal complaint with the police that would investigate and then refer the case to onward.

Actually, that is not true. In the United States, Private Citizens must report Fraud to the Attorney Generals Office in their State. Local Police Office's can't even take a report in most cases, they can only refer you to the Attorney General.

1591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Building An Altcoin: Some Assembly Required on: December 15, 2013, 11:23:02 PM
Foreword: No line numbers are given. You must use critical thinking to complete this guide. If you are unable to complete this guide, then programming is not for and you and you don't need to clone a cryptocoin anyway. there are far to many copy paste coins around already and your ideas are nothing special. if they were, you wouldn't be reading this guide.. surprise!

Step 1- Know thy source code.(required)
   -always read your sourcecode. its important that you gain atleast a simple understanding of what it does. the more time you spend reading code,     the better you become at writing it. study, practice, troubleshoot, ask questions in that order. No one has the time to cater to your ass, learn to do it yourself and be better for it in the long run.

Step 2- Find & Replace coin names, and replace/customize images as desired.(required)
   -if you need help with this, you probably have no business here in the first place. this is not rocket science, but critical thinking is required.

Step 3- Customize GUI with QT designer(optional)
   -blundertoe taught me how to use this tool, and its pretty intuitive. a bit confusing, but if you know your way around an xml style sheet, that's half the battle.

Step 4- Ports(required)

  a) bitcoinrpc.cpp
        -change RPC port.

Code:
 ip::tcp::endpoint endpoint(bindAddress, GetArg("-rpcport", 55883));

Code:
 if (!d.connect(GetArg("-rpcconnect", "127.0.0.1"), GetArg("-rpcport", "55883")))

  b) init.cpp
       -change RPC port

Code:
-rpcport= " + _("Listen for JSON-RPC connections on  (default: 55883)") + "\n" +

       -change Testnet and Common port(P2P).

Code:
-port= " + _("Listen for connections on  (default: 55884 or testnet: 45884)") + "\n" +

  c) protocol.h

      -Testnet and P2P port again.

Code:
return testnet ? 45883 : 55884;

Step 5- Add a seednode(optional, but recommended)
   net.cpp
     -add a seednode using ip or dns name.

Code:
{"some website name", "somewebsite.org or ip x.x.x.x"},

Step 6- Set your coins parameters
   a)main.cpp
      -set your block rewards. once you've set the initial subsidy, you can set optional parameters in this scope, and use conditional statements. critical thinking required, but this is probably the easiest aspect of programming C++ as there is. you can do it. just try.

Code:
int64 nSubsidy = 1 * COIN;

     -if you want an example template for conditional rewards, here is an example from when i was working on OSC and needed some feedback from some friends in IRC. please be advised additional steps are required for Proof Of Stake coins.
    Example
    http://pastebin.com/QMdAiGzP

   b)main.cpp
     -set target spacing and other vital coin parameters.pretty self explanatory. most source's this will be commented to help you understand what it means. if you are not used to seeing algebra or math in programming, it may look a bit confusing at first.

Code:
static const int64 nTargetSpacing = 120;
static const int64 nTargetTimespan = 1 * 24 * 60 * 60;

   c)main.cpp
     -you need to change your coins network id to make it unique. find this in your source.

Code:
unsigned char pchMessageStart[4] =
     this will be followed by four  4 charachter hex codes(representing ascii charachters) inside a set of brackets. such as

Code:
 { 0xe4, 0xe8, 0xe9, 0xe5 };
    -change a few of the hexadecimal codes, but make sure they are valid, eg. - 0xdd, 0xff, 0xfe, 0xf3, 0xda, 0xff, 0xle, etc.

   d)main.h
   - change first the number of total coins ever to be produced.
   find this:

Code:
static const int64 MAX_MONEY =
  and this:

Code:
 return dPriority > COIN *
  e)base58.h
       -change the starting letter for the addresses of your coin. for a list of values, google base58 charachter codes, or better yet, see this link from the bitcoin wiki. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Base58Check_encoding

Code:
PUBKEY_ADDRESS =

Step 7- Review, and complete additional steps.
   completing the bare minimum steps
    -once you've made it this far, its time to hop on over to this guide http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=scrypt_altcoin_cloning_guide and make sure you've done everything in this guide now

Step 8- Finishing touches

if (POS === true)
{
Do these steps to setup a checkpoint server:
assuming you've already compiled, open your client. open the debug window(or from the command prompt/shell if using daemon)
type
Code:
makekeypair

you will get an output like this

Code:

{
"PrivateKey" : "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",
"PublicKey" : "0408ebd69d4e1564efcbee0a77a876496713a10ae58c47aebfffb57e2ee83d72df0d73fe7f33d3dc33fa97502d961e7251fe12ccf0f9a15b2a96d7895078aed81c"
}

save this in a text document.

close the client.

open your configuration file for your coin(if you haven't created one, now would be a great time to start.). paste in your privatekey in the following format
Code:
checkpointkey=<your long ass hell private key here>
now save and exit, then restart the client.

now you must reflect this in the sourcecode, by adding your public key as the checkpoint master. without this, it will not work at all.
checkpoints.cpp
find this and add your public key( do not add your private key in the source, only in your conf file.
Code:
const std::string CSyncCheckpoint::strMasterPubKey =
there will be a public key already there. delete it, and put yours in its place. now save, and recompile the clients. congratulations, you are finished.
}else{

//you're done!
}

how limited is your bandwidth?

i leave my qt closed for days at a time. it takes 10 - 15 minutes to resynch. sometimes it gets frozen. close and restart the client if it stops and is frozen on the same block for a long time

Do you have a windows qt?

sorry about that, i think the site i had them on originally got taken down. for future reference, all the nanotoken builds/source is here. I know thats a wierd url but i'm a cryptography enthusiast. the name means "hash-joke-7kilobytes

http://ffe4hjk7kb.tk/Nanotoken.php

It doesn't work
out of sync

It freezes halfway through downloading the chain. closing the client should solve the issue. I just synched the client on 3 different computers, no problems here. showing a difficulty of .2 atm, so its possible that there could be a fork, but i don't see it on any of my clients or on the server. let me know if you need assistance.

I'm Korean.  my english is poor  sorry.
yes,these is a fork and out of sync
window qt  ,is it  work?

YES

I've seen delays with cryptsy transfers but never an outright failure to transfer. Are you sure you guys didn't just see a delay?

probably. the thing is, i haven't seen any proof of any of these allegations. doesn't mean they aren't true, just haven't seen proof. I for one don't trade on cryptsy because of all the problems. It is what it is. Doesn't mean i'll join in the fud attack. Last time i talked to Paul he was bringing in an additional programmer to help him iron the kinks out. All cryptsy employees have been working full time to sort this out. they get about 1500 support tickets per day. not enough man hours right now to keep up, but they are working hard to rectify the situation(atleast that's what they've told me.)

Already working on one myself.

I just doubled down on Quark. These prices are AMAZING!

Why there isn't a competent Quark exchange boggles the human mind.

If you are a developer, and have the free time to code PLEASE MESSAGE ME.

TRANSLATION: I'm desperately trying to escape my Quarkcoin investment, all it does is lose!

OP, you are a fucking idiot.
+1 CoinHumper is an SA troll that has no foundational understanding of how Cryptos actually work.

I've had problems with Cryptsy, they've responded to all my tickets, and are working diligently to get everything working where it needs to be.

People like CH have no class, and do not belong in this high risk space.

Agree to disagree. On one point, i feel like cryptsy has probably done nothing wrong, but on the otherhand i don't have 63 btc in limbo. If i did, i might be singing a different tune and so would you.
