Something I failed to mention, Its squall coin or SQC tag, No biggie, The art work is in the hat.

Hiya, I am doing my own coin, and need artwork for the coin (both sides in case I decide to mint some) I need Pool Logo and a banner. Here is the thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=763406.0Please refrain from flaming/trolling, I am open to ideas! but dont be closed mined. Comp rules, It's fairly relaxed, I am open to concept art, as well as finished results, It's the idea I need, Basic sketches are ok, I class the winner on the IDEA not the SKILL. offer is open until I like one or have found one, I will not let this run too long, I will say a few days before I close to give people notice for entering, I will not just close "willy-nilly" I need the coin launched as soon as!, NOTE - only ideas posted here are eligible for the prize. Yes I said a prize so here it is, If I like your design, You will win a Zeus 1.3MHs unit with PSU/USB posted to an address of your choice anywhere in the world!! (I am hoping you will mine my coin!) You will need something to run it off, This is a NEW unit, Never mined on!! Submitting your entry is accepting your art might be used as visual aid in representing this coin, There will be no claim to this logo if won, The winner's work will be owned by the coin as I do not want any claim to fame for my idea of this coin. Aaaaannnnnnd ...... GO! EDIT - LOL I completely forgot, Some background! PML!! ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) It's squall coin, Why I am called squall, Ever seen superman? Well i'm not him ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) But you know when he runs through an office to get a job done and all the paperwork flyes everywhere, A sudden rise in wind pressure is a Squall, I am a person that has a goal and gets the job done, Thats the thought behind this coin, It can be based on this or something new. Edit 2 - Something else, Its squall coin or SQC tag, No biggie, The art work is in the hat. Best. ADDITIONAL - Seeing some nice designs, In the interest of keeping this project moving, It will last no longer than this Friday 5th 12 midday UK time (GMT) Hardroad is the winner with the last entry!

Just use X11 PoW/PoS like Vootcoin.
Leaning that way I think wait for the update from dev now/
Still not quite there, I need ideas for coin stats, Amount/reward/block time, Open to ideas.

You're a noob to this forum.
Suggestion - ask marto to post here verifying ownership. Further, since he's hosting and a trusted member here - ask him to escrow the deal.
+1 also you can have them delivered to you or extend the hosting. Price: 3.5 BTC includes the miners and hosting + setup fee. Does not include electricity
This includes miners/hosting/setup but NOT power? What sort of hosting is this? EDIT - I just realized you meant hosting till end of year so the power was separate, It's just a different way of doin it i suppose. also What is the total power draw so I can work out a rough cost.

This is defiantly a scrypt miner with MHs on the list, My guess it will be 18.2MHs at around 0.92BTC at release, pulling 420W ATW. This unit will be Ethernet stand alone same as the BTC units.
that is not good. A gridseed blade is 130-140 used on ebay 4 would be 520 usd hashing at 20mh and power is around 380-400 watts. you can buy newer gear from zoomhash. built on gridseed tech http://zoomhash.com/products/plug-and-play-46mh-s-1000w-scrypt-asic-package-door-to-door-within-5-business-daysabove is 46mhs it will pull about 900 watts it costs 589 after the coupon zoom5344 comes with psu. so 2.3x the hash for 1.2x the power and about the same power per mh. So if bitmaintech can only provide a 18.2mhs unit at .92 btc it is obsolete. You do know it was just a guess right ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) I have no source on this, I was guessing a little under performing as it's batch 1, And the first in the line from them, It will get better as batches go on (thats my view of bitmain) So interested in final specs ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Well if it is made for me, I hope that it excludes ASICs for at least the first year. It would be nice for it to be a GPU coin to eliminate the CPU botnet. Nothing is 100% from farms and bot but it can be minimized. I'm not a crypto coder. All that I can offer in support is time and/or money. My vacation is about to end so time is not available so I'll offer to pay the cost of getting a block explorer up and running. That would not happen until the source code is on GIT. There is a guy that I have used before who does a bang up job. I'll give you the API to add in the Developers comments to it. Here is his site: http://cryptocoinexplorer.com/There is an annual subscription fee (forget what it is now) but hopefully donations will keep it up after the first year subscription ends. Let me know what you think. OK, I have been pm'ing a few people to see where we are on what you have said, It looks like I might go for the x11 Algo, Slightly faster over x13/x15 <-- these just have a few more blocks on the end, Nothing too major. I would love any work you can do to help this, Feel free to sort something out about the blockchain when source code is out, this would be more transparent if I was not the middleman, The less money I can touch the more I can prove to the community ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) On a side note to everyone, Keep an eye out on OP for artwork, I would love people to help by just putting it in sigs and any web pages you control, Probably just linking to this thread for now, I will be getting something sorted as a "hub" soon.

Wow, Thanks for all the support guys, This is a steam train!! I have support for two pools! more nodes lots of help on infrastructure. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) you should tell us the launch time As soon as details are made, I will announce a release time. A further note, I am still getting support for another SHA256, I really would like a "bitcoin2" but there will be too many asics being chucked on, I need to think about what will happen on release , So it's either this or x13 pow/pos. Would like to hear about block times/reward and anything else you would like to say. My vote is for sha256/x11/x13 pow/pos coin as pure pow coin always have the danger of running out of the buy support due to plenty of miners. Goodluck with ur coin. Also just a small question. Are u that squall that gave out the legendary loan :p
Might be ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) EDIT - I was also thinking about having a coin that starts off low yeald, Like 20 coins a block, goes up to say 100 as people come on and difficulty increases, Than tails off as it comes towards the end? This would help against too many people early mining and hording? No?

I like the idea , no IPO is nice , also is really nice see that you are using your main account here , I'll be watching this thread for more info .
Thanks for the support ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) The question to ask is:
ASICS or no ASICS, at least in the foreseeable future.
I tend to lean toward no ASICS as I still GPU mine. With the way cryptonight algo re: Monero is taking off, maybe that may be the algo to consider. Must improve on it somehow though as some big players are involved in that coin.
Will be keeping an eye on this one.
Thats where we are now, This is exactly the feedback I need. Problem is, Only on release we can say if it will work on asic or not, If it becomes popular, People will find away to adapt, I hear you fully, As an ASIC on a new coin will kill it, there will be one person hording up, Nothing we can do really, Just hope it goes around evenly. I will look closer at the monero alg and see if it's something I can use.

I like that you are not hiding behind a newbie account
Thanks, I have nothing to hide! PoW? No thanks.
Here is an idea, look at Cryptonite's mini-blockchain, NEM's POI and Eigentrust++ and NODE's work with node.js
Thanks for input, Can I ask why not PoW for you?

A relaunch of this coin is planned, with more mineable coins. Please be aware that I have had catastrophic system failures in my website and support structure of this coin, I have also had allot of support and encouragement to continue, so I have started to rebuild and improve for the long term, I plan on many new and backup systems, I have some big announcements for the coins future but I need to get systems running again first, please be patient this coin is for the long term

The best alts are the ones with free giveaways. Last week there was reserveshare and today I just learned of premineplus. Nothing beats getting to try a brand new altcoin for free! Also, these fair distributions are a huge positive for the coin's future.
True, But under the surface, Their has to be either a pre-mine or an IPO for them to have coins to give away in the first place. Hence "premineplus" I like the idea tho, I am seriously re-considering starting one, Then after some time of me mining openly after launch, Give some away as a promo.

L1 is probably for LTC, which I don't really care about. Bitmain confirmed in another thread that they are testing S4 (which is s2 with s3 undervolted chips, I believe). A month ago it would have made bigger difference, but we shall see. I hope for 2TH, but if they stay with the same PSU (not 1300W), then 1.7-1.8Th is probably more realistic. Actually, I am very interested in the L1 if it runs like the BTC brother (AKA standalone) I have had enough of configuring different miners on different builds of CG/BFG, and no, I dont consider Zen to be the same, I want to have full control of my miners.

Funny I tried to gather hype on my coin which was no pre-mine, no IPO and only a few people who really "got" the idea was interested, If people cant feel like there in at the back door, They don't want to know. I lost intrest in my idea when 17 coins came out in the week I was planning ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) What was your idea, any links? I'd be interested to read it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Been searching for ages LOL This is an old thread mind! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=555633.0i wanted to create a coin made for US, all of us, Not just one person, However I could not get everything in one place, I needed one pool, One exchange, and some people to PR, It never happened. I have lots of great ideas, Unfortunately not the tech knowhow ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

I dont understand these companies shouldnt be getting any buyers, unless the buyers dont know much on bitcoin mining. The price for this should be 700 USD no offence to op. I mean come one, these companies only care making q quick profit for themselves and instead of seeing that everyone should make money in the bitcoin game
umair127, AS you can see, no company is selling 1 TH/s machines for less than $999. I am currently selling below the current market rate. If you would like to discuss the the price that manufactures should be selling the miners. Please open a separate thread for your discussion. No offense *Also once difficulty changes I will be updating my price accordingly to around $799 Your price in cash is good, The only reason why i did not go for it is the USD>BTC>GHs>ROI The price per coin is low (this is based on last month with lower diff, higher price), It would cost me 10 coins for the lot with 4 months hosting, I will not make 10 coins back in 4 months, and then these units will not be worth the difference. It is a great price in FIAT, If someone has it, This is a steal!!! Hang in there.
|
|
|
Ok, thanks for the explanation, I understand the difficulties in trying to build crypto in a FIAT system, I did miss understand a little, It sounded like you were trying to get the banks to accept your coin, My bad, What your doing is great and really the only way to do it, Virtual commodities are still widely not known, Let alone even used, As you say we have to use the banks in order to spread the word, Use them as a platform. I am mostly fiat free ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I have been working for three years to break away, But When it comes down to it, I still have the ball and chain government with me, I still have to have a bank for some bills, But I pay rent directly in BTC, I pay someone in BTC for my fuel/shopping/dentist/prescriptions and the like, But most people even here still say "what is a bitcoin?" We have a long way to go, Keep fighting!
|
|
|
@ tagbond, Thanks so much for sharing your story, There is something I just dont understand, Why are you trying to "legalize" a digital commodity?
I am from "back in the day" where the idea was sold to me before the idea of being rich, The whole idea of Digital is supposed to by-pass the authorities and build a person to person based community, Where we decide where our money goes.
Please see this as educating question, I am not attacking what your doing, I need to say that as reading text composure cannot be detected.
