15841  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon T2T 30T review on: October 07, 2019, 01:42:36 PM
If they would have given me a simple coupon for the late t3 t50 I would have purchased one or more.

It is under 800 so no trump tax legally.

It may be the best new gear under trump tax.
15842  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with all the old s-9s. on: October 07, 2019, 03:55:49 AM
Brains would work well.
March 2019 may be good.
Dec 2018 works well.

I have run a single board from 2.5 to 4.7 th

Some settings did 100 watts a th
Some did 88 watts a th.

I only built one as most gear is in Clifton NJ not HOWELL NJ

I have a bad m10 that I am trying to get aboard to work. It would be a copy of the s9 idea.
15843  Other / Meta / Re: I'm free of weekly post count. Enjoy it from this week and decisive days of BTC on: October 06, 2019, 09:43:10 PM
Sorry I have no grudge against you. You are a valuable member of the forum and I like your statistical threads. But is Meta the right place to post topics like "I'm not going to join any campaigns for a few weeks" I'm seeing this type of threads here lately. Isn't meta related to the bitcoin forum.  Huh

The argument for a signature holiday for all members  has been a meta topic on and off.
Some of us have ended all advertising hoping to encourage a 1 week to 30 day signature holiday. I end my paid signature years ago but I did list simplemining.net as an unpaid signature for more then a year.  Along with an avatar signature for avalon a841.   I ended those about 90 days ago as I would love to see the forum practice a signature vacation once a year for 7 to 30 days.

Mostly  to see how it affects posting and to gather information on how we post with no signatures.
It may backfire and endless newbies may flood with links on b.s. posts.  I would be interested to see the experiment just to see results.
I gave op some merits because I encourage him to do what he did.

...7) This story is to be continued, I believe that it has to stay positive...

Each story has its continuation) I will add the eighth paragraph to my story:
Theymos created a new DT1 list 2 days ago. ...
DT 1
   78. 1311641: tvplus006 (Trust: +7 / =0 / -0) (DT1! (1) 689 Merit earned) (Trust list) (BPIP)

Good keep working hard at what you do.  I was happy to support you with the ban.

Even more happy when it was lifted.
15845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I purchased a new ryzen amd ryzen 9 3900x pc. try this again. on: October 06, 2019, 09:32:10 PM
So I bought a 3900x from bestbuy as well and got it yesterday. I then installed it on my gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 mobo with its own AMD cooler. LOL. Very excited that it can run on such an old board.

So it is mining AEON now with 70c temp. What is the best way to utilize its power in mining now? Any ideas?

what does aeon earn for you?
15846  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS Bitmain coupon on: October 06, 2019, 05:21:24 PM
Still selling

Maybe I would take the two of them.

My terms are send them to my bitmain account and I will pay 💰 once I have them.

How much are you asking for the two?

15848  Other / Meta / Re: How I know that who is ignoring me? on: October 06, 2019, 04:41:05 PM
If there was a way to identify who is ignoring you it would likely cause problems within the community. From my experience people generally hate being ignored, and would likely create a new account just to confront the user who is ignoring them which would just cause unneeded drama, and harassment within the community. If a user wants to ignore another user then they should be able to do that with the upmost privacy.

Have to agree with this. Anyone should be able ignore anyone in the privacy of their own pc/home.
15849  Other / Meta / Re: Staff Dabs abusing merit? on: October 06, 2019, 02:24:20 PM

If a staff member such as Dabs sent a pm to anyone asking for money and then rewarded merits to  the people that gave him money it would be an abuse.
In fact are staff members allowed to ask members for money via pm?
It would be very difficult to say no for fear of retaliation from staff.

I've asked personal friends for coins. Some said yes. Some said no. Got nothing to do with the forum although I understand you feel it may.

You should really stop doing that. You sent me the same PM because I donate to a charity years ago. I don't know you and out of the blue you asked me for money, making me think that your account was compromised. I think it's really inappropriate for a staff member to send (unsolicited) begging for money.

I was asked for money and I don't know Dabs so it could be op is connecting some dots.
I told Dabs I would like a btc addy to send to. I then spent a few hours for a few days reading his posts. I decided to not send coin.
I think Dabs should not ask me or anyone else such as thenewanon135246 for coin via pm.
I think no staff admin mod or even theymos should ask for coin via pm.

By this I mean rule 29 as stated by LoyceV

I am not looking to report staff, admin, mod or theymos for breaking rules simply because I do fear retaliation.  Why do I fear retaliation I was fully doxxed this year on  the following website.

https://badbuyerlist.org/

The reason was a lie , but the name and phone number are accurate.
So I have already suffered retaliation and since 95% of my internet footprint is this site most likely someone from here did this to me.
So now that staff starts asking me for money does it mean I show up on that list with more falsehoods spoken if I say no to sending coin?

I realize most likely that a scammer on marketplace tagged me and that Dabs asking for money is just that he is broke and desperate for money.

Now it looks like he asked at least 2 legends that don't know him.  I would have left this all alone until I saw this thread.

By asking me a person that is suffering from a doxxing already it caused me a lot of grief.

So now I fear a new dox lie getting reported on badbuyerlist.org   because I posted here in this thread.

My thoughts are Dabs has nothing to do with the dox, but that someone on this site (most likely a marketplace scammer) did the false dox.

It is simply not a good idea for staff to ask for money via pm. As it can put the person asked for the money in a funny state of mind. Which is where I am at right now.
15850  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with all the old s-9s. on: October 06, 2019, 04:46:55 AM
Yeah, I think the Antminer PSU is actually louder than the AntminerS9 now, switching out the PSU makes it even quieter.

Yeah I use a 1000 watt Corsair. I have also used a 1500 watt Corsair.
15851  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with all the old s-9s. on: October 05, 2019, 11:46:41 PM
I finally had some time to assemble this.  I also found that adhesive backed insulation.   I put it together as per your instructions and am getting 4.7TH/s with an 81 degree chip temperature.  I cut the boards 10 1/4" by 4 5/8th" by 1 1/4" thick.  I think my wedges are a little closer to the hash board than yours is, as my board was thicker.   It seems to be working just fine.

Quiet right?
15852  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should DT1 members be editing their histories to mask their prior wrong doing??? on: October 05, 2019, 10:28:02 PM
Well the first four years no one cared about selling accounts it was pretty much a non issue.

So if someone mention selling or wanting to buy an account or buying an account in the early years I could see people wanting to hide it.

For the record I never purchased or sold an account.  But if you look at every post I did you would find some where I mentioned I was offered 0.25 btc to sell this account.

I did not mention  the person that offered me the coin and I don’t remember if it was in 2014 or 2015.

I could see someone digging up that post and say why didn’t I tell the name of the person that offered me the coin.  Well back then it was not a big deal.

Point is stuff that was okay at the time is not okay now.  People go back and use stuff against you so I can see long time members going back to save grief.
15853  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why I'm an atheist on: October 05, 2019, 10:17:49 PM
Oh god why oh why must we talk about believing in god or no god why don’t we simply tell the truth.

We have not a clue. As to the non existentence or existence of god. And move on to the next question is the earth really a ball in space or a flat plain under a dome for giants to play with.

Something like the LEGO movie? Or is it more? I want to know. Don’t you.
15854  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: October 05, 2019, 09:21:30 PM
So the block history and btc earned reflected on novablocks history page is wrong? Who found the blocks listed on the site then?

anyone compare where the payments went that btc.com shows for the pool vs the ones that btc.com shows as not novablocks? I may do this when I get home.

Hard to do much of a review or in depth comparison if the data being provided is inaccurate.

Yeah you can show the diff and what a 100% payout of 12.5 coins is.
You can show viabtc payouts
You can show nova payouts.

But if block reporting is wrong is is hard to show what is lost in trans actions. Oh well
15855  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Want to buy bitmain coupons. on: October 05, 2019, 09:14:20 PM
Like mikeywith I need some coupons. $190
Or more works for me.

Since I have a really good trust rating I would ask you to go first.

Please don’t offer $190 coupons for $150.

I am USA based so trump tax is a fucking killer.

Let me  know what you have. Make a reasonable offer to sell them and we can talk.

Send pms please .

Btw I know mikeywith pretty well and would suggest you do not try to get us to outbid each other on what you have as I will be sending him a pm to ask if he has some. I locked thread to prevent a hundred bs posts.
If you pm me on these I reserve the right to post the pm if I think you are a bad seller.

Bump
Note to mods I can’t delete the post above.

Bump.  Note to mods I decided to edit old posts since they do not delete
15856  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: October 05, 2019, 09:09:26 PM
81 vs 150 is a big error and drops the luck down to simply good vs unreal.
15857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: October 05, 2019, 06:17:22 PM
Anyone got their money back with this scam?
I had one FPGA and i think 2 acorns ordered when they came out, just to test it out and write reviews on them.  Cancelled pretty soon after that when they moved to discord, etc.  Took a while to get refunded but after constant messages and requests, including posting updates on bitcointalk and elsewhere, they figured it would better to reimburse me rather than have negative publicity I guess.  A couple others like me got reimbursed.  Paid back with bitcoin, prices were about the same so no significant loss for me.  But what a shitshow.  good luck

This is what happened for me.  I pretty much followed frank's logic and also was refunded.

15859  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining gear efficiency a strong reason for difficulty increment? on: October 05, 2019, 02:10:00 PM
Low power =  biggest key most of the time.
low setup/building/floor cost = somewhat important

best efficient gear vs best priced gear vs best durable gear is the complicated part.

If bitmain called me on the phone and said they would send me 1000 s17 pros I would take them over any other shipment of gear offered to me.  But  they are not doing that. And at 3000 they are not worth buying to me.  My power deal of 50-50 coin spilt means   I get 26.5 th of each 53th unit.

so 26.5 x 0.00001920 = 0.0005088 x 8200 = $4.17   a day or 3000/4.17 =  720 days  far too long to break even.

Bitmain sold s17 pros under 2000 back in april of 2019   which means they made money at 1600 a unit.
I suspect they can sell them as low as 1200 and turn a good profit.  So buying the most efficient gear  at a really high price does not work well.

Of course Being in the USA  adds in the import tax issues  27.6% is really big   but that is another angle.
15860  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: October 05, 2019, 01:57:12 PM
Looking at the period where diff was 11.891T, 9/13 to 9/26, the site shows that they found 37 blocks. 700PH for this period should average 1.18 blocks per day, or about 15.4 blocks for the 13 day period. If I did my calculation correct, it would be about 1 in 500,000 chance of hitting 37 blocks in that period when you'd expect 15.4 on average. So it definitely looks like something is wrong. The hashrate would need to be closer to 1700PH to get this number.

I looked through a bunch of those blocks and the block rewards all go to the same address, 3Bmb9Jig8A5kHdDSxvDZ6eryj3AXd3swuJ. So It appears the blocks were mined by the same pool.

Maybe they have ~1000PH of their own that they are not showing in their stats.

Yeah that is the most likely explanation.  Which would mean  they are very well funded. So they should pay out consistently. Time will tell.
