15881  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should i just move to china and farm bitcoins? on: June 05, 2015, 02:41:28 PM
You could move to Washington and get $0.03/kWh.  I've actually considered it but don't want to relocate.  I think it would be fairly easy to set up a property to make more than it's mortgage by mining bitcoins.  Especially since you could mine using mostly free equipment donated by those who are no longer profitable.

Cool game.  I donated 0.03 BTC.  Cool
15884  Economy / Gambling / Re: Game 1 GSW vs Cavs. What do you guys think? on: June 04, 2015, 12:59:43 AM
My money is on the Cavs.  I'm expecting LeBron to show his greatness.  I believe the key to winning the game will be Shumpert's defense on Curry.

15886  Economy / Securities / Re: Is BTC Shorting possible ? on: June 03, 2015, 03:40:31 PM
Very possible to short Bitcoin.

Just move your Bitcoins to Okcoin. It is the cheapest option as other exchanges have large markups that you have to wait $1 price moves in order to profit. While in Okcoin, you could already profit in 50 cents move.

If you're a gambler, Okcoin has 20x margin trading. Bitfinex only 3x.

Okcoin is insolvent. Don't send a single satoshi to them. They've resorted to scamming and I would avoid dealing with anyone who mentions them.

The 20 1oz Minted Seats for pre-order packages now officially exist and will begin to accrue BTC distributions effective immediately.

Yeah I know I saw the poll.  Tongue I mean can you explain more the thing about seat ? Not sure to clearly understand.

This is the poll to officially clear the way for the 5 Minted Seats coins to exist.  Please vote in favor of the policy change.
15889  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Do we have a "Pre Pool" for P2Pool? on: June 02, 2015, 07:09:55 PM
Yes.  NastyPool's NastyPoP payout method works like you are describing via P2Pool and charges 0% fees.

15891  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury - Mining Lighbulb on: June 02, 2015, 03:47:15 PM
I wonder if it's possible to send enough information by powerline networking to have the controller hub hooked into a building's wiring, and have all the devices connect to it that way.  Obviously the price of adapters would have to both shrink significantly and come down in price, but it may be more feasible than using wi-fi in all the devices and require controllers in all of them as well.

I wondered the same thing.  My pool's light operates by a signal that is sent through the power line.  I'm not aware of any retail networking devices functioning in that scenario though.

15893  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Bitmain Antminer S5's on: June 02, 2015, 02:51:12 AM
I am posting a response in this thread to state what I purchased.

I have paid for three BITMAIN S5 Asic Miners which OgNasty states will ship on Wednesday to my fe.

I will leave the price out of this post and let Og add as he sees fit.

Thanks OgNasty, it has been my pleasure.

True story.  Thanks sloopy.

I still have 10-12 units left for sale.  I've received an offer for all the remaining units, but it is outside the US.  I will wait until tomorrow and if no attractive offers are received, I will see if a deal can be finalized with the buyer.
15894  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Bitmain Antminer S5's on: June 01, 2015, 10:18:27 PM
I have a dozen or so S5's for sale.  Price is shipped in the US.  Discounts available for multiple units.  No problems with any of the units, but the fan control wires have been cut, so the fans operate at 100% all of the time.

I know it doesn't make a difference, but it still hurts getting axed from a list.  I like to be included. Cry

I second this thought as well, it seems like the majority of Auctions are always domains for sale. Maybe a combined Goods/Auctions sub for domains or maybe just an Auction sub- "Domain Auctions". Just a thought.

Combined Goods/Auctions sub would not be good unless admins make some kinda tick button for "auction style"
But a dedicated  "Domain Auctions" would work. It is extremely important that post in a auction section cannot be edited.

I would think that a domain sale should be in the digital goods section or the regular auctions if it is an auction. I'm not saying we should add sections for every popular item. I just think that physical bitcoins on a bitcoin forum probably deserve their own section. I also think the signature campaigns/affiliate offers/faucets are a nuisance to those actually looking to provide or obtain services and the people using those services would probably appreciate having them all together as much as those who don't care to see them would like them out of the way. There are hundreds of signature and affiliate campaigns in the services section. You only need to look through a few pages and count for yourself.

We're always looking for folks to help create tools and services for NastyFans. I even created a Developer Center with lots of APIs and things that could be useful. http://dev.nastyfans.org - Check it out.
15898  Other / Meta / Re: New Forum Sections? (Physical Cryptos, Affiliate Networks, Signature Campaigns) on: May 31, 2015, 05:58:19 PM
This suggestion was made earlier as well and the MOD disagreed with it saying that there are not many signature campaigns that require another section and one can always search for jobs through the Services section.

I support this idea but having too many sub sections may make things look complicated. There are only 23 signature campaigns active as of now.

I agree that having too many sub-sections would not be helpful.  When you combine the affiliates and signature campaigns though, there are MANY more than 23 out there.  You could even combine them with faucets in my opinion.  It degrades the quality of the services section when 95% of the things listed will earn you a few cents per hour.

My personal interests align more with the Physical Cryptos sub-section though.  I like to keep track of the Casascius coin market and it isn't always easy to find all of the sales threads because they get buried so quickly.
15899  Other / Meta / Re: New Forum Sections? (Physical Cryptos, Affiliate Networks, Signature Campaigns) on: May 31, 2015, 10:36:57 AM
No point of having any new section for Signature Campaigns as there are just ~10 or at max. 15 signature campaigns at a time. Isn't worth making a whole section for it, right?

I count 13 campaign threads in the services section on the first page and another 9 on the second page.  There undoubtedly many more.
15900  Other / Meta / New Forum Sections? (Physical Cryptos, Affiliate Networks, Signature Campaigns) on: May 31, 2015, 04:09:15 AM
I've noticed that the services section is heavily populated with affiliate networks and signature campaigns.  It makes it difficult to find the offers of people actually willing to provide services for bitcoins.  Maybe adding a sub-section for Affiliate/Signature Campaigns might be a good idea?

I also think that there are quite a lot of people posting threads about physical crypto-coins in the Goods section.  A new sub-section for Physical Cryptos might also be beneficial.

Thoughts?
