15921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Dying? on: February 04, 2016, 11:37:38 PM
It's supposed to be a currency and it's supposed to be boring.  Personally I don't care for litecoin but I've used it and it works well and serves its purpose.   It's not dying.
15922  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cryptsy withdrawal problems possibly due to CEO divorce proceedings on: February 04, 2016, 11:17:47 PM
Holy christing mother of fuck, that's a shitty thing to do.  Seriously, as a community we need to vet who runs these exchanges so as to avoid debacles like this.  Exchange owners should not be able to take the money and run.
15923  Other / Meta / Re: My proposal to reduce signature campaign spamming on: February 04, 2016, 10:34:09 PM
1. susceptible to abuse.
2. might work.
3. that will make scams/scammers indirectly moderated. I don't see the need for this as we can always add campaign that accept negative trusted users to [4].
4. might work.

I like the thanks button & rep feature though. just as long as it is not used for deciding who's constructive and who's not.
And I would suggest that this needs to change.  Scammers don't need to be in signature campaigns--if they've done the community wrong, they should be sanctioned for it, within limits.  And I think whatever limits there are should be defined by staff.
15924  Other / Archival / Re: urgent auction Senior member. on: February 04, 2016, 10:07:02 PM
Oh dear god, don't compare your negative trust rating to rape.  That's just so egotistical, insensitive, and wrong-headed.
15925  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why "bitcoins" out of all the altneratives (alt, lite, prime)? on: February 04, 2016, 10:04:54 PM
Everyone's pretty much said it all, bitcoin is the OG in cryptocurrency.  I might also add that in being the first, it was the first to have a massive price increase, which brought tons of people into it.  As it sustained much of those gains (it's at $390 as I write this), people have stuck with it.  It's the one that always makes the news--when you hear about altcoins on CNN or MSNBC, then you'll know they've arrived.  Til then, they're just wannabees, even if some of them can be very useful.
15926  Other / Meta / Re: My proposal to reduce signature campaign spamming on: February 04, 2016, 10:00:44 PM
You have a great suggestion about restricting sig campaigns, and I think the details of your suggestion are also very good.  I try very hard to contribute something when I post, and it has always driven me nuts when people get paid to shitpost.  And if you're creative and talented enough to make a bot with AI to automatically post, just think how much you could add to the forum!  But no, people are 1) Lazy, and 2) Greedy.

So I strenuously agree with this.  I wouldn't even change a word of how you suggested this.
15927  Other / Archival / Re: urgent auction Senior member. on: February 04, 2016, 09:44:27 PM
OP, please address the escrow issue explicitly.  I understand you disagree with Vod's trust but you ought to learn from this and also learn from your last attempt to sell your account that what you're asking is probably way too high.  The market for bitcointalk accounts is somewhat saturated, and even if someone could earn back the sale price through a signature campaign, there's just no interest right now.

Start lower.
15928  Other / Meta / Re: Talking/discussing to yourself/your own alt on: February 04, 2016, 09:34:04 PM
is that allowed? no. the consequences? most likely a ban. report them to a mod with proof, or just post it in public. I'd suggest report it privately using PM as there's always a chance that you're mistaken because of account sales.
Quickseller did this with his Panthers52 alt, and it was so uncomfortably, painfully obvious when he was grasping at straws trying to defend his "self-escrowing".  He didn't get a ban, though he did lie about getting banned.  It's a fucking stupid, dishonest thing to do.  Having an alt is one thing, but using them to talk to one another is deceitful.
15929  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling bitcoins 1.344 bitcoins on: February 04, 2016, 09:24:58 PM
1 mother fucker did this -trust because i rejected his offer so fuck it if any1 wants to buy it lets do deal face to face simple period
You sound like an angry man.  You have negative trust for refusing escrow.  Just saying, I wouldn't do business with you.  People around here--including you--need to work on their attitudes when trying to recruit business.  Few people want to deal with assholes.
15930  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pumping phase active now, Dumping phase to come on: February 04, 2016, 09:11:46 PM
Calm down you fucks, this is nothing.  This wouldn't even qualify as a good pump.  This wouldn't even qualify as decent random noise.  So stick that in your levels and smoke it, though I agree OP you probably should just suck it up and buy some bitcoin.  Chances are that you're wrong up to level 99 and beyond.
15931  Economy / Speculation / Re: +$20 in the last 24hrs... on: February 04, 2016, 08:39:38 PM
Guys, I know Bitcoin's price is unstable. I was just asking because it had been stuck at $370 for a few days and perhaps some minor news might have caused the rise.
OK to answer that specifically, I haven't heard any news myself.  This might be a rebound from the drop that happened after Hearn made his comments and nothing more.

I tend to think it's just random movement.  Even in the most stable utility stocks there are days when price action goes crazy.  I don't think it has anything to do with news right now.
15932  Economy / Speculation / Re: +$20 in the last 24hrs... on: February 04, 2016, 08:29:38 PM
Any particular reason?
Are you kidding?  Welcome to the world of bitcoin.

I remember when I was first following bitcoin back in 2013, I was blown away when it went exponential to around $1200 and then fell back to something like $600 in a day.  Think about how crazy a price movement that is, and you'll realize that what we've seen in the past 24 hours, while significant, is not much to start a thread about.  For a while there last year I thought we were going back to zero.  That was when bitcoin had dropped to below $200 briefly.
15933  Other / Meta / Re: What's above Legendary? on: February 04, 2016, 08:21:37 PM
Why don't create a special forum section only for the legendary users instead create a new rank (for the moment) ? What do you think guys ?
So many good ideas here, and this is one of them.  I definitely like the idea of exclusive sections of bitcointalk, and I wish I'd been here at the beginning to donate whilst bitcoin was cheap.  But for members who've been here for longer than a legendary member--they should have their own section.  The language problem I think can be dealt with.  Most members write English pretty well but the non-English speaking ranks would fill up eventually.
15934  Economy / Lending / Re: 0,05btc loan,will be repayed on monday with 25% interest on: February 04, 2016, 07:11:25 PM
<snip>
Go to your parents for a loan of 20$ us. They should trust you and give you a small loan. The only reason I see you are getting a loan online is to scam people and end up not paying back.
This.  There's not a college student in the entire world who has to resort to begging in an online forum for a loan.  You don't need a loan and I doubt you're even a college student.  Shut the fuck up and stop trying to scam the honest folks at bitcointalk.
15935  Economy / Goods / Re: very expensive phone VERTU signature -[HOT]- on: February 04, 2016, 06:54:28 PM
That phone is a piece of shit, my man.  Also:  Pics as requested or GTFO.

i have provided photo of proof!!!
You're selling a knockoff of a phone that's about 6 years out of date with no photos that prove you actually have said piece of shit phone.  I can tell you must live in an undeveloped country that wouldn't stand a chance if ww3 broke out.
15936  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: South America on: February 04, 2016, 01:21:17 PM
Amazing sales pitch, I'm sure you're going to get Agrentinians lined up at your doorstep by the millions.
15937  Economy / Speculation / Re: Large Buyer Detected - Every Dump Gets Absorbed. on: February 04, 2016, 01:18:00 PM
It's like looking at clouds with technicial analysis.  Some people see fighting whales, some people just see random fluctuations.  I tend to see the latter.  Don't know about those pin bars and if any of that can be used to predict anything.

But rally you say?  OK, I hope you're right.  I'll be a-watching.

You are clearly a gambler looking around your sig and avi... I just prefer mine a little more calculated. Say what you want about TA, but I use it quite successfully. Had it been luck all this time, then I am on a hell of a streak and should play more lotteries because luck don't normally work like this. There is a bit of randomness, sure, but when you take an aggregate of a larger piece of data (Candles) it tells you things that simply watching a ticker on it's "seemingly random walk" can't.
I'm definitely not a gambler.  I've become more of a buy and hold type of person,  because any time I've tried to actively trade anything I've not made money.  Don't know if you've made money ir not but I don't believe in TA.  Never have.  But if it works for you, more power to you.
15938  Economy / Reputation / Re: Issue with Vod on: February 04, 2016, 12:57:06 PM
we can trust only your "words" because some one buy a key and left a feedback in a limited time period, next he try the license.
If these key are not legit there is even the risk they could be blocked.
If are legit ok, you are good samaritan and you sell for an awesome price! Yes did it! Thank you from all!
But this single key, if I remember could be taken officially from market Smiley and windows not sell it.... mmmmm
good business!

Same rule applies for Vod, you can only "trust" his words as he NEVER has any proof when he neg reps a user
Not true,  in the vast majority of cases it's quite obvious that the person on the receiving end of the paint job has scamful intentions.  I don't know about selling these keys but if it's against Microsoft policy then that's why he sprayed you.
15939  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: I Got $0.05 BTC Doing These 5 Faucet on: February 04, 2016, 12:44:13 PM
I don't quite get what your poll is supposed to be here.  Didn't click on the link, but I don't use a lot of faucets anymore.  As I'm sure you're aware a lot of them chopped up their payouts into tiny fragments of what they used to be.
15940  Economy / Economics / Re: Minimum limit for buying BTC on: February 04, 2016, 12:39:06 PM
I wouldn't recommend anyone buying small amounts on a regular basis, IF the transactions fees are high.

What do you consider to be a small amount?

Here are some of the fees that exchange charge to withdraw BTC.

Btc-e : 0.001 BTC
Kraken : 0.0005 BTC
Bitfinex : Free
Bitstamp : Free

Wow i thought kraken was expensive but btc-e is even more expensive.

Bittrex and C-Cex charges 0.0002 BTC, (to complete your list).
Just to add to this list,  Yobit is 0.0002 btc.  I don't find that too bad.  I don't remember exactly but I think Cryptsy was more than that, R.I.P.
