15981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Use Ripple XRP at Checkout on: March 22, 2018, 11:19:49 PM
Does anyone know how to try to use XRP as a method of payment at a checkout?

Ideally there would be a way to use generated receiving addresses added to the database and then show up unique addresses when checking out.

Please any advice?
15983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How Populate Ethereum Addresses to MySQL Database? on: March 19, 2018, 02:31:21 PM
I have never used Ethereum before but will use Ubuntu or AWS AMI to install it and sync the blockchain.

After that I want to generate addresses and populate those addresses in a MySQL database which will be linked to an ecommerce site for customers to use at checkout.

I have successfully achieved this process with Bitcoin and now want to do it with Ethereum.

I do not want anything to do with ETH contracts, I just want a new addresses to be displayed when the customer reaches checkout.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Still there is no news about that the bitmora team going to complete the spreadsheet and when going to distribute the bounty rewards to all bounty hunters so it's better give a information about that.

Not knowing what is going on with the Bitmora situation, hopefully they will update here soon for thos expecting information but sadly it is a common issue with many companies and websites seeking investment. All too often bounties and rewards usually get paid late or after a lot of hassle and in many cases nothing is paid out.

15985  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: About the licensing of Electrum wallet on: March 17, 2018, 03:26:50 PM
License: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/master/LICENCE
There is already Electrum LTC and DASH. The software is written in Python, you can use the GitHub repository above. Fork it and start working.

Latest versions Electrum 3.1.1 and Electrum LTC 3.0.6.2 use python3

Electrum Dash uses python2 and is based on earlier versions of the Electrum build. Electrum Dash needs updating.
15986  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.1 is out! on: March 17, 2018, 01:30:47 PM
When upgrading from v3.0.6 to v3.1.1 to the desktop version there were no problems but when I upgraded the server I got some problems because I have some custom code in a separate file which updates the database with addresses and balances. Even though the Electrum upgrade went fine I had to downgrade and re-install v3.0.6. Once downgraded I executed the custom code and all is working properly to update the database again.

To clarify, the Electrum upgrades are great and work perfect from what I can see. I will continue to use v3.1.1 on my desktop and v3.0.6 on the server until I workout how to adjust my custom code to make it work alongside the upgrade.

Got to say Electrum is fantastic. The fact you can get a server running Electrum without the need to sync a massive blockchain makes life so much easier. Bitcoin but simplified. A special thanks go to Abdussamad for his advice and pointers in the run up to me downloading and testing it.
15987  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.1 is out! on: March 17, 2018, 12:53:26 PM
Maybe better to stick with 3.0.6 for a few weeks or months which would allow for issues to be found and fixed in newer versions

If everyone did that no issues would be found and fixed!

Smiley

Point taken. I will upgrade the desktop and server versions today.

15990  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Desktop Client with "electrum restore <mpk>" incorrect balance issues on: March 09, 2018, 03:01:46 AM
"complete" is more related to whether the transaction has been "fully signed" and can be successfully broadcast.

In this instance, complete is "false" as the transaction is unsigned and cannot be broadcast (it will be rejected by the network).

Once the transaction is signed with the correct private key(s), it will show as complete = "true"

I got it, thanks. In my case it is working great Smiley
15991  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Desktop Client with "electrum restore <mpk>" incorrect balance issues on: March 08, 2018, 09:49:54 PM
Can I still send payments using the "sendto" command from the online server?

I thought using MPK to have read only addresses was supposed to stop that in case the server got hacked.
If you use the MPK to recover your wallet in electrum you can't use the "sendto" command in a console because you are using a watch only wallet.

Unless if you recover your wallet with seeds (not watch-only wallet)

take note it's not really "sendto" command in the console command list in "help()" it should be "payto"

Yes sorry it is "payto" thank you for correcting. I made a test payment in Putty using the "payto" command and ended up with the following:

"complete": false,
"final": true,

The payment was not made to a different desktop wallet therefore the watch-only functionality of a server wallet is working great. I suppose "complete" means "transation completed" and in my case the watch-only wallet shows "false" whereas on a seeded wallet would show "true" and would send the payment.

The more I test and play with Electrum, the more I understand it and think it is awesome. Thanks

Why are the dividends only paid for the first 18 months? It's not good for the investor.

That might be the least of anyones worries when strict regulation comes in by the US government.

You see, when it becomes a matter of owners and board of directors getting jail sentences if the exchanges are not conforming to soon to be introduced regulations then various US based exchanges and those dealing with US citizens/passport holders all over the world will have to consider one of two things. One is to simple close down like many did in China when their laws came in and the other is to beef up security to unprecedented levels and apply for a US licence to trade as an exchange. That will be a long difficult process that companies like Coinbase with hundreds of millions in investments will sail through but smaller companies and start-ups will struggle with.

Looking at Bitmora and the finances that have been put in I had deep reservations about its long term viability. It has not even launched yet and if regulations comes in to force before it launches then it may never launch. The coming days will be interesting.

By next Monday we will be releasing a statement regarding the SEC's latest public statement regarding mandatory regulatory registration for all exchanges that offer services to US citizens. That update will be posted here, on social media, and our voting portal.

Look forward to your statement because the regulation is going quite tough. Would like to know how you intend to navigate through it. Looks like all this red tape is popping up at the wrong time for Bitmora.
15997  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Desktop Client with "electrum restore <mpk>" incorrect balance issues on: March 07, 2018, 11:24:18 PM

Great, I increased it and ALL previous addresses with ALL associated funds showed up. Everything is perfect now, the server and desktop clients show the same information.

Thanks Abdussamad, nice handy information in the link you provided Smiley
15998  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Desktop Client with "electrum restore <mpk>" incorrect balance issues on: March 07, 2018, 10:58:16 PM
Thank you jackg but the server is doing everything correctly and showing the correct balance (all addresses from the desktop and server --force including all balances).

The desktop wallet is showing only the addresses and balances associated with the desktop client so the issue is probably not with the server.

How do I get the desktop client to show balances and addresses generated by the server? I already reloaded the desktop client using the seed but it is still the same
15999  Bitcoin / Electrum / Desktop Client with "electrum restore <mpk>" incorrect balance issues on: March 07, 2018, 10:17:13 PM
I am running Electrum on a Amazon Web Service server. I took the MPK from the desktop Electrum wallet and used it to create the Electrum wallet on the AWS server.

I tested it thoroughly and find it fantastic but there is one problem. At the moment my desktop Electrum wallet shows only the BTC balance for addresses generated from it. The AWS Electrum wallet shows the correct BTC balance which includes addresses generated from the desktop and server clients.

What is the best manner to ensure the desktop client always shows the ALL correct addresses and balances that were generated from itself and the server using "addrequest --force"

Can anyone help point me in the right direction please

The last time anybody representing Bitmora posted here was on February 24th 2018.

I browsed the website and can see when the public launch takes place but what is stopping Bitmora representatives updating here?
