161  Economy / Economics / Re: Confirmed, bull run begins now, what expectations? on: September 23, 2018, 08:12:02 PM
I don't really think we are in a bull period yet.. Fine,  there has been over 20billion dollar entering the market since yesterday according to https://coinmarketcap.com. But to be certain it is a bullish period,  there should be upward continuous rise in total market cap.

20 billion dollars did not enter the market, if it did the marketcap would grow by much more. Marketcap increases are not reflective of money entering or leaving the market. If one person buys 1 BTC at $10000 the market would grow by several billions but only 10k entered the market. That's the most basic of examples but hopefully you'll get the idea.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar rises in Indonesia, what is the economic fate? on: September 23, 2018, 08:10:10 PM
You're considering 3 separately priced things. Just because the price of one falls against the other does not mean that it will also fall versus the 3rd option. There are a few scenarios in which the dollar can appreciate against the rupiah (all examples will be in absolute terms):

Dollar value increases, rupiah value increases, but dollar increase outweighs that of rupiah.
Dollar value increases, rupiah value stays the same.
Dollar increases, rupiah falls.
Dollar stays the same, rupiah falls.
Dollar falls, rupiah falls but dollar falls less than rupiah does.

From this you can see that in scenario 1 rupiah value can increase so if BTC value remained static the rupiah would appreciate versus the dollar. This is also excluding any scenarios in which BTC value falls.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Electroneum (ETN) vs. Aeon (AEON) vs. Masari (MSR) on: September 23, 2018, 08:04:30 PM
Masari is my favourite but as Kyobode mentioned electroneum doesn't have many similarities with the other two. I see ETN has pumped hard in the last day or two which is quite surprising to me. Still it's not much above ICO price despite that. I remember at ICO time there was huge hype but maybe now people are realising it's not quite as valuable of a project as first thought.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: You should not FOMO XRP now on: September 21, 2018, 08:43:57 PM
Buying XRP now would be a terrible mistake and I'd hope there aren't many left in the market right now that would do that. Most of the foolish money got washed out so those that are left should really understand the idea of buying low and selling high.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum regains its spot on: September 21, 2018, 08:41:19 PM
Marketcap doesn't mean anything anyway. Ethereum is a much better coin than ripple and always will be. Marketcap is just an indication of most recent price times by market supply. XRP will fall back down from this current pump.
166  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: STOPLOSS? what are Advantages and disadvantages of stoploss? on: September 20, 2018, 09:37:55 AM
The advantage is right there in the name, it stops losses. As for disadvantages well obviously there's the potential for the market to recover shortly after hitting your stop-loss. The important thing is that you realize a stop loss isn't going to be the best thing all the time, as with anything in trading sometimes it will be the wrong decision but overtime it should minimize losses and in turn lead to maximizing profits.
167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Capitalism worship in this forum. on: September 19, 2018, 05:48:22 PM
UBI seems like one of those great ideas that might look fantastic on paper but I fear it wouldn't work out in reality. Humans have a tendency to adapt to their situation quite rapidly. Many are hardworking out of necessity and if that necessity was removed you may find that changes. I think UBI would only work in the situations that offer an incentive still to work but I don't know how that incentive will be big enough that it encourages enough people will still being economically viable.
168  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make a profit from the Cryptopia market on: September 19, 2018, 05:44:51 PM
The difficulty most face is that they cannot distinguish between current and future earnings or realize that USD value of their portfolio is only relevant when they buy or sell in to USD. Once you can understand that then strategies like yours really can become profitable. Many days you may lose USD value but grow BTC value. Therefore long term as long as BTC increases you actually profit on those days.
169  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what kind of news or information effect THE PRICE OF COINE on: September 16, 2018, 03:44:15 PM
Right now there's little that really seems to influence the market price. The only thing that seems to be having any influence is news around ETF's. Normally news of adoption etc would be positive but it's quiet on that front and any news about regulation could be positive or negative but again it's quiet on that front.
170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why would a rational person pay 6,000 $ for Bitcoin if he can have its ... on: September 15, 2018, 03:50:10 PM
The dollar price of bitcoin doesn't matter in its true use case because it aims to replace such currencies. The only price that then matters is the price of bitcoin relative to what each individual is trying to buy, be that a car, a house or a loaf of bread.
171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bollinger bands on: September 15, 2018, 03:47:05 PM
Bollinger bands are a measure of volatility and the movement of moving averages. While this is mostly useful to offer buy/sell signals and showing resistance/support levels it's not entirely what it's designed for. They can be used in conjuction with other TA to signal buy or sell opportunities.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The privacy coin race on: September 15, 2018, 03:39:43 PM
Monero is the best and that won't change. So many of these other coins may be good for privacy but fail in so many other simple areas such as having vulnerabilities when it comes to security.
173  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are the bitcoin faucets no longer worth it? on: September 14, 2018, 03:00:12 PM
Something being worth it is a subjective thing. IT also depends largely on your future expectations for bitcoin and your alternative opportunities. Let's say for example you have no other earning potential and no way to purchase bitcoin directly but expect bitcoin to 100x in 5 years time, in that scenario it's very worthwhile. If alternatively you could do something else for say $10 an hour and then use that money to buy bitcoin then you're better off doing that.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CRYPTO IS NOT RULED BY PEOPLE ANYMORE on: September 14, 2018, 02:47:54 PM
Crypto can not be ruled by anyone. Even if there are large whales holding multiple coins it does not mean they control bitcoin, maybe only its price. You can still use bitcoin for its intended purpose which is as a currency and not as an investment.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Your top picks on IDEX on: September 14, 2018, 02:45:53 PM
HOLO is my top pick and second to that are IDEX's own coins. IDXM and Aurora. These coins should only grow in value as IDEX has more success as one of the leading decentralized exchanges on the market.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why when the market decreases the percentage of BTC increased? on: September 13, 2018, 03:02:47 PM
I have been in the cryptocurrency market for almost two months, I observed that when the market fell, the percentage of BTC always increased. The current percentage of BTC has accounted for more than half of the market. What does this mean? Can anyone give me an explanation, and why is BTC? not another Coin? Because in my opinion, BTC is affected by market volatility more than the Altcoin!

The reason being that bitcoin is the strongest currency in the market and whenever value is shed from the market a larger percentage of that comes from altcoins than it does bitcoin. The exact reasons for these are many but it's mostly down to the fact that bitcoin has proven itself and so has a larger support in the market. Speculative money normally comes when the market is bullish and that's when you'll see bitcoin market dominance falling instead of increasing.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin (Bitcoin) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted as payment facilities by l on: September 13, 2018, 03:00:27 PM
I think we'll see a lot more large dealerships etc accepting cryptocurrency instead of smaller stores. The reason being is that in a lot of cases it makes more sense to use bitcoin currently for large transactions instead of for microtransactions due to the tax benefits that some people can receive by spending their bitcoin instead of converting it to dollars etc before spending it.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs ApplePay on: September 13, 2018, 02:57:42 PM
Applepay could facilitate the use of bitcoin in the future if it wanted to. That would mean using bitcoin would be exactly as easy is it currently is to use applepay. That is because applepay is not a currency and is just a wallet/service for allowing people to spend other currencies such as dollars.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH falls !! on: September 09, 2018, 08:09:00 AM
The decline in Ethereum price has been both spectacular and also shocking. With Bitcoin down around 4% yesterday I was seeing Ethereum down by about 15% it seems to be the hardest hit of any of the coins at the moment. The only reason I can think of is that because it is the main currency used for ICO funding, many of the projects are panic selling their ETH stacks to try and retain some FIAT funding.

What you speak of is definitely one of the contributing factors, couple that with increasing competition namely from EOS, Stellar, TRX etc and the landscape for ETH is just very different to how it was a year ago. I think by 2019 ETH will no longer be the no 2 coin.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leave Crypto? on: September 09, 2018, 08:03:14 AM
When the culling is done I think we'll have lost a lot of the people who invested in a silly and un-knowledgeable way. Those are some of the people you speak of who invest more than they can afford to lose. Those are the people that are targeted by those swings, it's so that every last drop can be squeezed out of them before they finally leave the market and then we return to the bullish ways.
